Sadly Scott fell to pieces one last fatal time. This song is still haunting and powerful 7 years later. Scott's voice and Slash's beautiful guitar riffs create a masterpiece rock ballad which stands the test of time. Velvet Revolver one of the last great rock bands. Gone but never forgotten, Scott.

Growing up in the 80's -90's, I was a huge STP fan. I was very lucky to see them while touring in the SF bay Area in the early 2000's. Something I will always cherish as I believe this was one of their last times on stage together. ♥

These Songs are Masterpieces for a reason. Scott isn't just singing hes feeling too. This was his life. He was the one vocalist that I knew had the kind of voice that would serve what we were going to do: he had a John Lennon-ish quality, a little bit of Jim Morrison, and a touch of almost David Bowie. Didn’t he have cancer also??? I hate, loathe, & despise Cancer!!! I am still in remission from breast cancer,,, but just as my fight was winding down, my husband was diagnosed & I lost him 2 years later. He was an awesome guitarist also. He was a music teacher but Always played in bands. Our Son is also a great guitarist. He’s had to quit playing in bars & such because of his day job. He’s president of two branches of a college now. I can’t wait to hear him out playing again. If wifey lets him. That’s a whole different story. But This Band Rocks!!! Love ❤️ them & ive only heard this song. I fully intend to change that!!!

@@JANICEFALKNER-d2l first let me say I am so very sorry for your loss of your Husband. I hope this second part makes sense of what I am about to say,,, I am both sorry and at the same time proud of you. I will explain,,, I am sorry that such a monster (breast cancer) got a hold on you. But I am also proud of you for your strength to battle that nasty disease. Not only did you have your own battle to fight but you were there helping your husband fight too. You must be a super strong woman to do that. I love hearing stories like this.
It is very sad and scary that pretty much every single person in this world has been touched by that damn disease in some way. I say this because, I lost my sister back in 2010 to breast cancer. She was such a beautiful soul. She was 7 years older than me and I adored her. I remembering that I wanted to be just like her. Yes, I had her on that pedestal for sure.
She fought that monster for 18 long years. She went into remission 5 times. You know, she was the only one in our family, that we knew of, to have breast cancer. Who knows though, there may have been cancer way back. I definitely understand your hate for it. I feel the same way. I have changed so much since that day she passed. I can with all honesty tell you that I will never be the same again,,, until we are together again.
I think it is beautiful that your husband's love and talent for music and playing the guitar has been passed on to your son. I also have a son who plays guitar and is in a band too. I am so proud to see my son play as well!! They actually were in Germany this past summer at a big Heavy Metal Festival. I am in Canada so when they were playing I was lucky enough to be able watch them play through a live stream. I was so excited to see him up there. So I also understand how proud you are of your son. ❤❤
I could keep on chatting but we would never finish our conversation. lol lol So again, I am deeply sorry for your loss and I hope and pray that you kicked Cancer right in the ass!!!! Bless you and your husband.🙏💞🎸🥰🎸💞

Honestly, Scott Weiland is one of the best musicians to come out of the 90s, in my opinion. STP is so underrated. I remember the first time I heard "Interstate Love Song", I got lost in one of the trances you get into when you hear really good music. It was like time stopped. The chorus gives me goosebumps to this day when I hear it. Weiland's vocals were amazing. His vocals are amazing on Core and Purple, and his stage presence was even better. My dad had the honour and privilege to see STP open up for the Rolling Stones in Toronto around the time Core came out. He said that's one of the best opening performances he has ever seen, and he's seen a lot over his years. Now I've never got the opportunity to see STP or Scott Weiland live, but I have had the pleasure of listening to all his music. I was reading Slash's book not to long ago. He talked about the formation of Velvet Revolver, and his mission to recruit Scott Weiland as their lead singer. At the time Scott just got booted from STP and he was at a very dark time in his life, than he joined VR and just put his heart and soul into this song. I remember Iron Mike from 97.7 htz fm playing this song, and I just was thinking, "Man that's sad, but it's music for the broken souls". It just goes to show how brutal life can be, and how hard certain problems in can be to overcome. As an artist he expressed his emotions the way most humans wished they could. Yes, Weiland had his fair share of problems, but when you take the time to look at his discography spanning through his entire career, you'll find that Scott Weiland is a masterful poet with an amazing voice. He was a great guy but he problems kept him down. Scott Weiland died too soon, but his music will live on forever. And this song is an everlasting testament to that. This song shows of the struggles that he was going through and another reason why one should not judge a person based on the struggles that brought them down, but rather take time to put themselves in that persons shoes and take a minute to see what they are really going through before saying, "eh he's a druggie. He was only good in the 90s and I'm surprised he lasted that long". RIP Scott

I've been clean now for 13 years, 2 months and 12 days...but just because I'm clean doesn't mean that it's not a daily war I wage with my addiction. It will be with me until the day I die. Hopefully that will be many years from now and of natural causes and not an OD. But I have no delusions that I'm exempt. I could take a fix any day just like the next guy. Thanks again though for asking. To Scott's loved ones...know that he loved you guys with all his heart and his battle was no reflection of yours or his love for one another. Peace.

I could only imagine the struggle he went through and your still battling. Think the hardest part is keeping the straight and narrow when there's always a way to stray. For as long as Scott lived...you can do it for much longer with a stronger heart. Be the voice of reason for others and don't stop living. R.I.P. Scott...we will miss the shit out of you

I have been with Weiland from the very beginning and was obviously aware of his struggle with his demons and addictions but this video always hits me like a ton of bricks dropped directly on my musical head! The song is brilliant and so was the band, I miss Scott so very much and think of him fondly every day! May you continue to rest in peace Scott and know your true fans love you and miss you dearly! It's kind of scary about Scott. From what I've read, he was smoking rock when he died. As you said, we don't know for sure. I guess my friend is just lucky he doesn't have enough money to OD. He would have been gone by now.

Scott's voice and Slash's guitar playing makes this song go right to the marrow of my bones! It's just a sad fact that the singers that make you feel the deepest are the very ones who are oblivious of their own voice and it's power! And the most troubled souls! I don't have enough fingers to count on, the great Rock voices that have departed since the 60's to the present day! Especially the ones who could never really found happiness in this plane! Maybe the next level they can achieve it?? The ones that burn the brightest, burn half as long! Sinn Fein Scott

There is no other genre which expresses more emotion than that of hard rock. It's followed closely by blues and/or early 90s hip-hop. The troubled souls make the best music because it hits us hard. The 27 club is such an amazing collection of talent, all of which, left us way too soon....

As bad as fent has become and opiates I still believe alcohol is the hardest thing to kick, ur dealer is on every corner and it's socially acceptable. I absolutely love this song, Velvet Revolver, you are freaking awesome. R.I.P., Scott. Sadly gone, but never forgotten. This band and it's members are truly talented, thanks for all the memories.

Scott was a treasure. His manic depression. It's a matter of fate. That is what makes you great. The ones who dont understand will never know.

This video kills me every time. I've watched people I love battle addiction, and you feel so helpless. You just have to let them hit rock bottom & pray that rock bottom isn't an overdose. Sending love, prayers & blessings to all here who are battling addiction. Please know that you are all loved. RIP Scott. You left us much too soon, but you'll never be forgotten. 💜🙏💜

It’s a sad realization that Scott Weiland was blessed with immeasurable talent, but will only be remembered for his demons. Even in the depths of his sickness, on his worst day, he was better than most on their best day. God Bless Scott! Hope you found peace at last. 🙏🌹

Felipe Oliveira Harry Nilsson puts forth the same power and energy on his endlessly covered song “Without You” The way he stretches out “time” in the verse makes goosebumps at the right volume lol.
