We wound up getting divorced many years ago, but this song can still put me back in that time and place where I was so in love I could barely breathe. Life moves fast. 100% such glassy vibrato. Ridiculously precise control too. His transitions in and out of compression and fry were way ahead of its time for extreme vocals.

My wife of 22 years died of cancer last year. Hearing this song after so many years..."You'll always be my dream come true..." I love you wifey, now and forever.
There is a word , "Hiraeth", and this song that encapsulates the longing, anguish, and melancholy sadness that I have for the 80's and early 90's era growing up in Florida near the beach, and the one that got away when I look back on the best times of my life. Knowing I can never feel or experience that again pains me.
One of the most powerful and beautiful vocals ever put down. I hated ballads back then but goddamn you couldn't deny his talent. That ending just takes off
Had a rental car in LA at the time. With the top rolled down and his vocals blasting out of the speakers, what an era; I was looking for places that featured such bands playing music like this.
One of the best ballads ever written. Makes me smile and cuts deep at the same time. Wish I could go back and relive those days. I've never forgotten you and I will forever remember you.
I'm stuck in the 80s. Graduated in 84, and went to most of the rock concerts back then - when it was $15 a ticket. We'll never see that price again. I love my 80s rock!!! ❤
This song is so underrated. I mean I know it was big back in the day, but I’ve never actually heard it played since then. You didn’t have to be a fan of Skid Row to love this song. The vocals and lyrics are perfect. 80s and 90s rock ballads were seriously the best.
You are so right. This is a great song, one of my favorites. This is actually my grandson's lullaby, I sing it to him every night til he falls asleep. Raising him right, making sure he listens to real music , not today's garbage, be blessed 🙏🏼
I watched him about 2019 or ? Was around or before the pandemic. Holy Moly! Can he sing! With power ! I’ve always been so impressed with his vocals. Love SkidRow
Yeah, but in 2020 he is *not* awesome. Just watched that cat put out a shitty performance in Italy. Clearly doesn't care about getting in shape physically or vocally to give his best. Just cares about the money it seems.
@@catsincredulous9998 come on he's getting on and his voice has taken a battering over the years. His present skill doesn't affect how awesome this track is
@@FlabbyAbi You are absolutely correct, his present voice does not at all affect how good this track is. That wasn't my disposition. I was just merely pointing out, as you recognized, his voice has taken a beating. Honestly, if my voice sounded that much different, I would not go out on tour or sing anywhere. I feel that I would have more pride than that. Look at Ann Wilson, she' 18 years older! And still able to kill it. It's one thing not to hit the high notes, but the whole voice is just not good IMO. And while I don't know how much correcting or improvement you can make at an older age, I would think that doing some vocal training again would improve whatever you are starting with. If you are a performer who truly cares about bringing your best, why would you not do that which is in your power or control?
May I add I was born to Love this Song - Plese ! This is one of the Greatest love song ever, breaks my heart when I think of those who didn’t come close enough to feel the love this song singing to all our hearts! God Bles us all! I will always love this song because of marriage!
My husband was in my life 40 yrs he's the only one I walked hand and hand with. He just died this past June 29,2022 we lost our son 5 yrs ago he couldn't stand him being gone we always played this song. My only peace is they are together..my loves
I was 16 when this came out and I remember lying in bed with this cassette in my Walkman. My mom threw me out of the house and I went to live with my Grandparents, the two greatest souls ever to enter my life. I would lie in bed playing this song and as soon as it ended, I'd hit the rewind button and play it again. Over and over till I fell asleep. Those days are gone and so are my Grandparents but it's songs like this that take me back. I love you Grandma and Grandpa may you rest in Heaven. I'll see you soon.
My boyfriend played this song the day my grandfather died. Two weeks ago we were out of town, and went to a store to get some food. Over the store's speakers this song played, and it always makes me think of my grandpa. It played, a different song played and then this one played again. We didn't know it yet but my grandma had passed away about an hour earlier. I wanted to share because this song reminds of my grandparents too and I loved them very much. I enjoyed your story and thought it was cool someone else had a story about their grandparents with this song ❤️
@@nikki_m7394 Yes, they share many things with us in life and leave us with fond memories when they are gone. Im sorry for your loss,. Im sure they are still watching over you.
I'm 52 years old male, not a very good singer but I'm not tone deaf. I was testing an audio setup in my office. Since nobody around I decided to try a karaoke with this song from start to finish, trying to copy Bach style of singing. Suddenly a young colleague of mine, in his 20s came in and asked me... "I heard you singing, it's a really good and beautiful song, what is the name of the song and who's the original singer? I was totally suprised that some of the new generation never heard of this powerful ballad but they do appreciate it, oh yeah 🤘🏻😘
@@wildchildliving Well, no doubt the 80s were in my opinion a great time to be young - mid teens to mid 20s in my case - but Connor remember: you'd be in your 50s now at least, so there's that. Plus here's the thing: lots of people on these comments do in fact have pictures - real papers ones - hidden away far from family that someday we need to take out, say goodbye, and consign them to the flames before one day we're surprised with "Who is this girl in all these pictures I found?" You've got decades before you have to worry about that but for the rest of us: it's right now.
To John, the love of my life, my first and last love, the love of my life. We went through a lot together when we were homeless. This video reminds me of that. Only you stuck together with me, through richer and poorer, for better for worse, in sickness and in health. I will love you always. I remember you.
I'm a 23 y.o girl who's always LOVE this song. I was 7 y.o when I first listened to this masterpiece and immediately loves it (thank's to my parents), and didn't even know the meaning of the lyrics ('cause english is not my first language). Understand it fully when I'm 13. And feeling it fully when I'm 18. LOVE IT
The guitar solo is just captivating and one of the best melodic ones ever made. It's sad we don't hear guitar execution like these nowadays (with the exception of metal bands).
Nothing compares to the 80s music... My 18 year old daughter is falling in love with it. In the year 2023. Not all of Gen Z is hopeless. So proud of her... She's going to be a doctor...🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@unopaxiba She was country until she heard Theory of a Dead Man, then we saw them live... She couldn't believe how good they were live. This song came on the other day and it was like God was singing it to me. I got an image of a hair band Jesus on stage singing to me. It made me smile and realize how much God loves me! Been on replay for like a week! Rock on "the Rock"! Hairband baby!
My husband took me to the concert Skid Row first concert I’ve ever been to in my whole life I got to meet Sebastian Bach got his autograph. It was so awesome 80s were the best I wish we could go back. I love this song I play it all the time and rocks.
Rock band in the 80's are always gonna be awesome... Long hair, beautiful faces and most importantly rock solid voices that echoes through time. What a timeless classic! Love it! ❤️❤️❤️
For me it was my brother. My brother watched over me and introduced me to rock and i will never forget it. My brother doesn't know it but, he is amazing.
This song came out Jan 24, 1989. It looks like all the real Skid Row fans are here to enjoy it. Sebastian Bach is one of the best vocalists of all time. That man can really sing! I have some great memories of this song and was lucky enough to see them in concert a few times back in the day. This was and still is my favorite power ballad.
Im 20, I was raised on skid row and Alice in chains and other 80s rock. love this song and proud to be named after Sebastian Bach and got to meet him in 07
I Sure Wish it would- Ratt, DEF LEPPARD, Van Halen, Bryan Adams, Heart, Huey Lewis and the News, Thompson Twins..........................in other words, Real Music.
@@Ningishzidd4 I really can’t relate to anything with them. I would never trade my youth with this gen. We did fine with vcr’s and cassette tapes. At least i did. They can keep their souless technology and insane tik tok challenges. Even the music today sucks. Im just an old fart.
@@DVL327 Im 23 three and the music that I listen to is early 60's , middle 70's and 80's ... Well some of early 2000. But also sometimes I feel disgusted about the generation I belong to 😖
I'm up for real, legitimate, no shit, tough guy and this brought tears to my eyes. The 80s love sings were the last of honost music. Bands like Air Supply, Journey, REO Speedwagon, and some of the hair band ballads, elicited real emotional responses and touched a lot of people.
Not at all weird Renato!!! I think it's a good thing to express how one feels. When you get to a place where you don't feel, then it's time to worry. You're nowhere near that!!!

Woke up to the sound of pouring rain
The wind would whisper and I'd think of you
And all the tears you cried, that called my name
And when you needed me I came through
I paint a picture of the days gone by
When love went blind and you would make me see
I'd stare a lifetime into your eyes
So that I knew that you were there for me
Time after time you there for me
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand, I remember you
Through the sleepless nights through every endless day
I'd want to hear you say, I remember you oh oh
We spent the summer with the top rolled down
Wished ever after would be like this
You said I love you babe, without a sound
I said I'd give my life for just one kiss
I'd live for your smile and die for your kiss
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand, I remember you
Through the sleepless nights through every endless day
I'd want to hear you say, I remember you
We've had our share of hard times
But that's the price we paid
And through it all we kept the promise that we made
I swear you'll never be lonely
Woke up to the sound of pouring rain
Washed away a dream of you
But nothing else could ever take you away
'Cause you'll always be my dream come true
Oh my darling, I love you
Remember yesterday, walking hand in hand
Love letters in the sand, I remember you
Through the sleepless nights through every endless day
I'd want to hear you say, I remember you

December 14 , 2024.
Thank you God for letting me grow up in the 80's and 90's, I can't imagine anything topping that time period.
I miss those days too, here's to the good days , salute
I too am so glad I grew up during that time in Florida near the beach. Magical!
Amen
Sadly I was born in the early 2000’s. 😔😭
NB2k3 me too. Our music is crap
I can remember watching MTV so anxiously waiting for this video to come on. Where does the time go? This song is timeless
Same! On Hard 30…Where DOES the time go? It goes on…Sigh
And we still have MTV just no good on it anymore. Bring back the good music. Can’t stand watching it these days
getting home and watching totally Pauli
My wife of 22 years died of cancer last year. Hearing this song after so many years..."You'll always be my dream come true..." I love you wifey, now and forever.
so sorry for your loss 🤍
Omg im soo sry and it seems u were so lucky to have that kd of love as she was to have urs
@@angelagarutti6118 Thank you. Yes, I was very fortunate. She was an amazing person inside and out and she blessed my life every day.
condolences. may god bring u comfort
Sending love! ✌️💖🖖 Glad you got to spend some time together though!!!!
My dad passed away when I was 10 I’m 25 now. I remember my dad playing this song in the kitchen making breakfast back then. I always sang along to it
That's a beautiful memory hon may God bless u tremendously 😍🌹💞💞😍🌹💐
Now He's watching you from above and singing along to your video phone device. 🙏 You will be with Him again one day.
I lost my dad in 2010...😯😢😭
Your dad was cool
Damn ...this reminds me of my first love .....he committed suicide long ago ....and everytime I hear this song ....I think of him
80’s metal music will never get old.
I agree Larry. Always ready for my daily dose of 80's Metal- like Vitamins for your Soul.
Technically it does get old but it’s why it’s so good because the older it gets the and the more rubbish music gets released the better it gets
Gets more relevant every day
@@MatthewJones-wg9jr It seems like it can be compared to Fine-Wine mate the longer it is in storage the better it tastes.

still CANNOT BE PLAYED LOUD ENOUGH!!!!!!!
Guitar solo always shoots chills down my spine. So much feel and pure raw talent. I'm so happy to have grown up in that era :)
One of the most powerful and beautiful vocals ever put down. I hated ballads back then but goddamn you couldn't deny his talent. That ending just takes off
Yes. I love this song brother.
And only 17 at the time, if I remember correctly.
Haha! It is! Genius and badass vocal ending.
Yesssss and without Auto-Tune 😳
Had a rental car in LA at the time. With the top rolled down and his vocals blasting out of the speakers, what an era; I was looking for places that featured such bands playing music like this.
I wish we could go back to the 80's and stay. The best music.
I dream about it alot at 69!°😢😊❤
The good ol days huh! I miss em!
Absolutely! I collect vintage and nostalgic action figures and horror movie memorbilia because of my childhood in the 80's!
Jesus, please let Heaven be in the 80's theme!
@@roosdad1 😂👌🏼
At 75 that voice, that guitar , that video still take me to a great place in time, ALWAYS!
God Bless You!
This song and Here I go again from Whitesnake are the absolute top 2 from this era.
same...rock on brother
the power coming out of this is like a drug
I thought I was the old one in the group at 67 😎👍♥️
Can't believe this song and video doesn't have 1B views.
One of the best ballads ever written. Makes me smile and cuts deep at the same time. Wish I could go back and relive those days. I've never forgotten you and I will forever remember you.
Absolutely so true!!
Amazing times!!!
Tears and a smile today!!
So true
I'm stuck in the 80s. Graduated in 84, and went to most of the rock concerts back then - when it was $15 a ticket. We'll never see that price again. I love my 80s rock!!! ❤
13 year old me rocked to this all day, 45 year old me coming to terms to the reality of the lyrics. The pain is real.
same!
Very sad to realize your best days are well behind you. I guess it is that way for most people.
Word!!!
Yes.
At the time this song came out, I lost a musician friend .
REYNOLD LOUIS CHAMPION
from. XLR8 in corpus christi.
Are you me talking?! I just heard this on the radio. Told my husband when all my friends loved New Kids, this was my music!! I was 13 too🤣
This song is so underrated.
This is definitely a legendary song. His voice is still amazing even to this day
Ah ulan gençliğim ahhhhj
Yup!
I watched him about 2019 or ? Was around or before the pandemic. Holy Moly! Can he sing! With power ! I’ve always been so impressed with his vocals. Love SkidRow
1989 - this song is awesome!
2020 - this song is awesome!

My husband was in my life 40 yrs he's the only one I walked hand and hand with. He just died this past June 29,2022 we lost our son 5 yrs ago he couldn't stand him being gone we always played this song. My only peace is they are together..my loves

Sorry for your loss. Now, they are together in Heaven.
So sorry for your loss 🙏
Thank you ❣️

I was 16 when this came out and I remember lying in bed with this cassette in my Walkman. My mom threw me out of the house and I went to live with my Grandparents, the two greatest souls ever to enter my life. I would lie in bed playing this song and as soon as it ended, I'd hit the rewind button and play it again. Over and over till I fell asleep. Those days are gone and so are my Grandparents but it's songs like this that take me back.
I love you Grandma and Grandpa may you rest in Heaven. I'll see you soon.
why she threw you out ?
My boyfriend played this song the day my grandfather died. Two weeks ago we were out of town, and went to a store to get some food. Over the store's speakers this song played, and it always makes me think of my grandpa. It played, a different song played and then this one played again. We didn't know it yet but my grandma had passed away about an hour earlier. I wanted to share because this song reminds of my grandparents too and I loved them very much. I enjoyed your story and thought it was cool someone else had a story about their grandparents with this song ❤️

Being a teenager in the 80’s was gold. I loved it.
It was the best 🤟🏻
fuck man you're so lucky, i wake up every morning wishing i could of been a teenager in the 80s instead of in this soft terrible generation.
I was first being around in the 80's
Hell yeah
Wow.!! His vocals are out of this world 🌎 a Masterpiece

The guitar solo is just captivating and one of the best melodic ones ever made. It's sad we don't hear guitar execution like these nowadays (with the exception of metal bands).
