Hey
Hey
Hey
When you look you see right through me
Cut the rope, fell to my knees
Fallen, broken every single time
Always keep me under finger
That's the spot where you would chew me
But I see sometime pleasure in my mind
Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Hey
Hey
Hey
When you seek me you destroy me
Rape my mind and smell the poppy's
Fallen blood in every single time
Always keep me under finger
That's the spot where you might linger
But I see sometime the pleasure in my mind
Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Like holy water
It only burns you faster than you'll ever dry
This time with me
When you look, you see right through me
Cut the rope, fell to my knees
Falling and bloating every single time
Yeah, here comes the water
It comes to wash away the sins of you and I
This time you see
Like holy water
It only burns you faster than you'll ever dry
This time with me

Scott looks like a mix of Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, iggy pop , bon scott, Sid vicious & David Bowie. All in one video. Legend, RIP
Absofuckinglutely...
Actually, he looks junked the fuck out.... I was there, barely made it back.... RIP SCOTT

@Matt H oh yeah him too 😂
Absolutely correct, without question.....
It's blowing my mind that this song came out almost 20 years ago. TWENTY.
Back in the day, I was always dreaming of what it'd be like to be alive in the late 80s. I am now further away from 2003 than I was from 1987 in 2003. Time is wild, but Slash remains timeless!
I was a kid in the late 80s and in junior high when Guns n Roses broke out. So when this came out I was solidly in my 20s. To think that this is now 20 years old proves what my grandmother told me years ago. Time just goes faster and faster the older you get.
In the late 80s I was trying to get off heroin, coke, valium, alcohol, finally did in September of 1990.
I graduated H.S. in '89. It was a glorious time!
This might be one of the best hard rock songs ever written and recorded.
Mix of all tye Decades of Rock music before with a flare of Early 2000's Rock to touch it up.
This has become a classic guitar riff!🎸

Amen to that , brother !
You know it’s going down when Slash’s guitar goes vertical.
this made me actually laugh out loud

Michael Dillon Harrison hell yeah!
This song is really mind blowing. This sounds heavy, but still catchy, sexy and danceable. Just the perfect hard rock tune

Umm Slash! Couldn't go wrong!
Right on!
could have not say it better, Roberto.
Very VERY SEXY AF!! 😳🥺
Velvet revolver one of the best gigs out of hundreds I’ve been to , real rock n roll. Fantastic while it lasted
In my opinion, Scott was one of the greatest frontmen in the history of rock and roll. He never hid his struggles and I respected him for that. There was a beautiful soul behind all that pain. I miss you Scott 🖤
Dude was real AF. Yes !
@frederick lee He really was.
Right on. It would be a hard life ,road trips, partying.Married 🙄Life .Repeat
Rock singer? Certainly was a great character and singer! Drugs=bad news. RIP Mr Weiland...
I feel the same way Scoth was amazing incredible songwriter he made incredible music he had an amazing voice and the capability of changing it the sound that is losers Scott Weiland will be forever a massive loss not just to his family and friends but to all of us who loves music in my books this guys always going to be a bloody legend! ♥️🥺
12 years later, this song still kicks ass!
Very fucking much so I agree......
Best rock song of the 2000s
this song will pretty much be eternal, bcuz it's pure guns n roses style and quality
Easily. Hands down. And Contraband takes the cake for best Rock album of the 2000s.
Thomas Carmody fuckin right!
I realize Scott Weiland was a troubled person and the band was always on the verge of flying apart, but for a couple of minutes, Velvet Revolver was the perfect rock and roll band.
Yeah I saw them live and it was what can I say? Indescribable. I managed to catch them in one of the short windows where Scott and Slash were sober.
Later I saw STP when Scott has 'falllen to pieces' again and after coming on an hour late he rambled incoherently about his brother dying for about 30 minutes. People started booing. Just a shame how good he could be to see that...

Indeed!
Agreed! It’s hard to make a whole ass album with bangers but they did it.

Those are definitely not people born in the age of rock.
I think they ended up becoming overused and generic and in many songs they have come to bore me but Slash’s solos are famous for being what they are
My girl passed away in June this year. She loved this song because of the guitars. I play this as tribute to her everyday. Dont let depression get you guys. Always someone there for you.

Scott leaning on a shredding slash right before the chorus hits is an image that will live forever in my mind. Something so simple, but so fucking cool.
Everyone here talking about Scott and Slash, but I believe the drummer Matt Sorum is awesome. I’ve followed him since his days with The Cult.
I Agreed , other level of play Drumss😮

+Stacey Munsey Nobody moves like Mick Jagger :-), actually I thought Iggy Pop first time I saw this video.
+D. Scott Whitaker Damn straight, especially at 3:27

This song fucking rocks.
U dam straight that fucking song rocks
Isn’t that ironic, they both consisted of band members from other bands that basically did. Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, Guns n Roses, etc. etc.
It's not that they didn't but it seems the music industry had other plans for the future of rock, being both groups rolled out in the early 2000s. Ironically I was listening to " like a stone" prior.
Hell yeah - I should clarify, my comment wasn't meant to be negative in any way. I rocked all of that music, and this!
Too many of the hands-down greatest vocalists (at least my absolutely most favorite vocalists) were taken.
RIP: Scott Weiland, Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell ...and more... dayum - Shannon Hoon! Remember him?! Too many...

Sid Vicious Jr, AKA (Scott Weiland) Had One Excellent song to his Credit, but only the real Talent was Duff and Slash, but Scott did this song Justice, but as far as I'm concerned, this was his best and Finest he ever did! Drugs will get you one of 3 ways, it'll kill ya, It'll Break Ya, and it can ruin everything you ever Dreamed about growing up wanting that Perfect Piece of Property, then having some great friends over with their tools, & in some cases brought extra framing Carpenters, drywallers, 2 Electricians, I men as long as the beer and Liquor didn't run out, my friends built my dream home for free, but that Ice Cold Beer Cost me several thousand bucks, but I had a warm and dry home, but the ex took it from me but I wore or less gave it to her so my sons wouldn't have to worry about having a roof over their Heads. Matt Sorum. Sadly still remains one of the most underrated drummers in rock. He just killed it with The Cult, Guns N' Roses, and here in Velvet Revolver.
I watched the rise of Velvet Revolver documentary and Matt wasn't at all like I expected. First of all, I thought it was kind of funny, he has this high pitched nasally kind of voice, I thought he would sound tougher. Also he turned out to be far more confrontational than I would've thought. It sounded like he was about to give up on the band when they couldn't find the right singer.
Rob Billeaud Have you heard him sing? He recorded an album solo. He can sing.
Sub for Mickey D in Motorhead! Now bangin' Sammy. Check out "Loud"! Be safe 🦊
Such solid chops, I remember watching the GnR Use your illusion dvd's and was blown away! so so good!!

I remember thoroughly raging the first time I heard this song on the radio, because it was the debut. I was so beyond pumped for this band. When it got to Slash’s solo, which then launches into Scott absolutely screaming the bridge … I was punching my steering wheel with pure adrenaline!!

My music tastes are more passionate and varied than anyone I’ve ever known.
Naturally, I love to discuss those few great musicians and bands! 🤪
@@barrysmith8920 Btw, Barry, in case you didn't know, there's this channel: "Rick Beato"--I think he got over 1 Million subs his first year (has around 3 Million, now).
He has a Bachelor's in Music from Ithaca College (Double Bass, Classical Music, but Heavily Studied Jazz Guitar); then earned his Master's in Jazz Studies at New England Conservatory of Music (Jazz Guitar).
Became a Guitar professor at Ithaca College. :)
Then quit to play in bands with record deals, but never "made it big".
Ended up in Atlanta as a record producer (of mostly "nu metal"--though he did co-write a #1 Hit Single, which I Believe was a "Country" genre hit).
Now "retired", but very busy with his UA-cam channel!
My point: Rick has an interesting series of videos: "WMTSG?" (What Makes This Song Great?), each is about 15-20 minutes long, as he takes one song per video--"Interstate Love Song", for example--and analyses it musically in interesting ways.
Rick has his own recording studio and the tapes to the songs that he analyzes, so he can separate-out just the vocals, or just the drums, etc., as he enlightens us as to what's going on, musically, that the "ordinary" listener might not otherwise pick up on.
Check one or two out when you get a chance! :)

Will be learning this for weekend fun👍. Saw slash twice but never Scott ...Liked Slash stuff better than the GnR stuff...
Used to hear this on 93 Rock in Miami, a now-defunct Active Rock station.
Still remember the first time I heard this song and thinking this band was going to bring straight up and down rock and roll back to the mainstream. They kinda did for a minute, but I still think VR was crazy underrated. Both albums were great but the first one was really the sum of it's parts.
Beginning at 2:42, and for the duration of Slash's solo, Slither becomes everything GnR would have been at this moment on some alternate timeline I desperately wish was our own.
As much as I love this song, it saddens me greatly. I saw them perform in Boise in 2007 and Scott was SO THIN. He did an incredible job, but I had a bad feeling, seeing him up on stage. RIP, Legend.
Watch the intensity of the song beginning with 2:43 - Slash's guitar solo, Matt Sorum getting up from his drum seat, Dave Kushner in back, Duff - amazing part filled with real passion for the song - you hardly see this nowadays in bands - that's why they are great - RIP Scott!
Dirty groove of immaculate sound
I first saw this video in tech school in Texas when MTV still gave a shit about playing videos and I said some jerk copy cat band stole Slash's signature top hat, and then I realized it was SLASH and Scott et al. Immediately bought the album at the BX. Phenomenal!
Scott Weiland was one of the greatest frontmen of all time. This is one of the sexiest songs ever written and they are one of the best "super" groups of all time. I wish they could have continued.
Saw them at voodoo fest in Nola early 2000s and fell in love with them again and not for the first time. Scott was sexily shedding clothes piece by piece hyping the crowd and expectedly high asf, slash was sexy, they sounded flawless and played songs by stp and guns and roses as well as their own. We had just left from seeing Cypress Hill which had us floating. Best concert experience ever!!!
Rest in Peace Scott. We'll miss you.
Scott was one of the best frontmen in the 90s and, maybe in the conversation as one of the best ever. RIP Scott
one of greatest rock and roll songs ever.
What. A. Banger. Still! Better than 99.99% of music over the past decade. What a combo this was. Too soon....
Such a great singer...done in by those fucking drugs...RIP Scott Weiland...hope he is at peace now
He should have skied more. POW TURNS TILL DEATH!!!
Drums on this song is just freakin incredible.....
Thank you SCOTT and VELVET REVOLVER I am with you. For Sure ❤
I remember back in 2003-04 I woke up at 3 in the morning and this just happened to be playing on TV. I immediately downloaded this song and put it on an MP3 cd and listened to it in the morning on my way to school. I wanted to wear silver pants!
