Finally, it’s snowing in The Netherlands! And we just experienced the first snowstorm since January 2010! And although the authorities in the Netherlands declared a rare ‘code red’ weather emergency for the entire country as it was hit by its first proper snowstorm in more than a decade, we went out to explore Winter Wonderland in The Netherlands! We walked to the city center of The Hague and decided to go for a hike in Meijendel to experience the snow, wind, and frost. And believe us, it makes you feel alive!

I’m Canadian, born and raised, but my parents were Dutch immigrants to Canada. My mom always wrapped our feet in plastic bags inside our snow boots. My feet stayed nice and dry and warm. I’m loving your videos. I’ve been to the Netherlands three times and loved it!

Very nice photography and visual storytelling. Nice story too. The -13C may sound cold, is still 8.6F and in parts of the world that get below 0F seems not too cold, but the frequently rather hard wind in this country along the sea with either moist or ice crystals in that wind, make the experience temperature much, much lower when it is cold, or hotter when very warm. The shoe-plastic bag-sock hack is very clever. Note there are water-repellent sprays that you can put on these kind of shoes (do that outside because of the solvent gases coming off that) - makes them almost as good as expensive GoreTex.
Yes indeed. The wind feels so much colder than how much it actually is.

we had winters like this one almost every winter but due to climate change weather patterns change rapidly now, im a retired Dutch man that enjoys his retirement in the tropics (Philippines)
I was born in the hague 63 years ago. But it is not true that we had every winter snow. We also had cold and autumn like winters.

Vraagje: Sinds wanneer was het klimaat structureel hetzelfde. TIP 2: Lees het - net uitgevoerde en gepubliceerd onderzoek van de NASA - waarin even duidelijk wordt dat er een klimaat hoax aan de gang is. Sinds 1851 (tot heden) is de temperatuur verhoogd met 1,07 graden en de zeespiegel is in dezelfde periode gestegen met 0,1 cm! Niet geloven? Lees de publicatie van dit onderzoek in het wetenschappelijk magazine "Nature!!". ps. het is: zo af en toe en gebruik soms een leesteken. Dat leest makkelijker.
I just discovered your videos today. I love the way you shoot and edit your videos. I live in Wales, but for 6 years I lived and worked in Den Haag….your videos make me want to visit again. I remember one very cold winter in 2012 when all of the canals froze and I saw people skating on them…crazy Dutches :-) Thank you.

All the slowmo was filmed at 4k 120fps but when we are vlogging, I filmed them at 1080p

You are spoiled. Try a New York winter. Gemiddeld jaarlijk sneeuw voor NYC is een beetje hoger als een meter. Echt. Ik ben eigenar ook van een berg huisje in de Adirondack bergen...gemiddeld jaarlijk sneeuw is bijna 8m. Really. Tug Hill Plateau. And, Adi, when I was a kid in Queens, NYC, we would always put plastic over our feet. It made it easier to get our snow boots on, and yes, it kept our feet dry. That was around 1970.
