I started a conversation with an older gentleman at the gym the other day. I like talking to people and have been into the gym for 20 years now. I'm 37. I knew this guy was older but when he told me he had just celebrated his 95th birthday I was shocked. That is by far the oldest person I have seen lifting weights and in such shape. So cool. He told me his son died at 52 and he outlived his wife. Then he said what I was seriously hoping for. He asked if I would go for a coffee with him sometime. It was literally the cutest thing in the world. He said the following: "You have no idea how much you made my day by talking to me, thank you." "When you get to my age there aren't many people left you know." "Most people just pass you by." It was heart warming seriously people. I shared that cool story because as younger people we don't feel the way they do. The world still sees us. Heck, sometimes we get so much attention we want people to actually leave us alone!! lol. I know I do sometimes. Most cultures hold their elders in very high regard, we should all hold them there. Try to talk to these lovely people whenever you can. Just say hello if nothing else, you will almost always receive a warm smile. Cheers

The teenage Casual people always say things like that .. we always think things are speeding up, but are they quite? Maybe not from the 40s but someone from the 60s I think would be actually quite disappointed by the level of dubsequnt development particularly in the transport sector .. an I pad is pretty decent tool but many of those people might have expected flying cars. We are nowhere near that. Also the western growth rate is considerably lower than in the post war era
Well it's strange, because my friend's daughter told me the other day she's 3 and a half, and we all laughed at how cute it is. And of course, when you have only been alive for 3 years, a half a year is a very long time, and quite a big deal. But it was refreshing to hear a man 99 years older still using the half 🙂

I really felt this. I'm 17 now, making plans for my life, wanting to chase money and success, being great and change the world, becoming important in a wider meaning. But when I see such things, when people who have already lived tell me what living really is like, I think I'm completely missing the point: I just want to be happy, and live a happy and fulfilling life. And when I'll be old I think it won't matter if I had been rich or if my life plans had gone right, I will only care about how I really lived my life. Thank you for sharing your stories, teaching us these life lessons. Should definitely talk more with my grandparents...
You are a very wise 17 yr old. Never loose sight of your own words said here. I can only add, respect, honesty, consideration and kindness to others is what brings us real happiness.

Er, the whole time I was watching it, it struck me that they all look quite well off, live in nice homes, in nice locations......so I think you should chase money and success in your younger years, or you won't be living like that once you're retired (unless you are coming into an inheritance at some point). It's called adapting to the times and making the best of everything you can. People that don't adapt die younger. I wish my father and grandfather who were both tech junkies had lived to see the Internet.
I talked with my neighbor who was 97 years old. He was becoming incredibly frail and I would see him sit outside with his walker. I would join him whenever I saw him outside, and he would talk about his experiences in Poland and being a child prisoner, and his experience in the RAF as a radar operator during WW2, also how he came to the USA and started a family. That man really lived a life that I will never come close to experiencing. He passed away about this time last year and I was really glad that I sat and talked with him. The biggest piece of advice I can give, is this: "As long as you give your heart to someone that needs it, you are doing good in the world. It may be small, but it makes a huge impact."
I've been through that, I know that feel. Don't think about the fact that she doesn't remember you, focus on that she loves you, and give her back that love, she deserves it
"I don't have many failures. If I'm baking a cake and it fails, it becomes pudding..." ~Cliff Crozier A simple advice on how to take life, if this doesn't 'go well' per say it just means it was meant to go another way. It's all a matter of perspective. I'll truly sleep a wiser person tonight

I'm 51 and use a cane occasionally because my leg gives out. Recently bought an electric scooter so that I may enjoy life. I'm not embarrassed by it anymore than one that uses a wheelchair for mobility. In my opinion you can complain about your physical disabilities or you can find a way to cope and enjoy life. Last I knew complaining about an issue solved nothing but actions do.
Arguably the biggest and most valuable lesson out of this video. I am 28 and the current generation is completely out of depth when it comes to problems in life. I hope I have the strength to follow his advice when bigger problems eventually come my way.
Hang in there bud. Everybody learns at a different pace. Don't focus on others and everyday just try to be better than you were yesterday, and as the old man suggested 'don't give up easily'. Good Luck!!!
I think it's not a matter of "too easily". We don't think about "too easily". It's tough for us too. But we just give up. If it doesn't work, we give up. Life is different now, different culture. Too many choices. Doesn't work? Try another thing.
Benevolent I am stubborn as they say. I don't really give up, and never feel like I should. But society has twisted the minds of a lot of women. Have fun, always have options, then if you persist there's a chance you'll look unattractive. Unfortunately I still don't give up. And am too forgiving. Society looks at me with pity but I refuse to change for this world. I'm happy this way, and playing games like that has never been me. I know I'll be good enough for somebody someday. Young fella over here
I love how they casually mention illness, war, poverty and other tragedies while firmly maintaining that they had truly wonderful lives. Clearly there is power in positivity.
There is a lot of power needed to be positive always. I think that power comes from thought that everything is temporary and will vanish soon. Woshhhhh

Lycidas never take common sense for granted...a lot of folks don't have it for whatever reason...on the flip side of this assuming things is a sign of complaisancy, hmm?
I think this film teaches us that, no matter how old we are, we should appreciate our parents and ask more questions about their experiences as you never know how long they will be here in our lives. You can never turn back that big clock.. I wish my parents were here now, they left quite suddenly and I have still questions and the legacy and knowledge they had is gone. That door is shut for ever. So just saying, make use of the time you have to get to know your parents because they have a wealth of knowledge that they can share with you. Thats the experience I have had..
Most people who live long are always like that to be honest. Take Queen Elizabeth II for example. She's not a centenarian but she is 94 years old which is old for someone born at her time, but even so, she looks like in her early 70s or so thanks to her healthy lifestyle.

That's because there was opportunity back then. Actual opportunity. Now, there are so many government regulations, and lies through media (COVID, lockdowns, etc.) that the whole world has gone nutty. People are absolute phonies nowadays, as well. No one wants to get out of their car. I wanted to set up a food truck on the busiest part of the road in the city; not one car stops to pass. I see others trying all of the time - but no one gets out of their car because they're scared that a "virus" is going to get them; meanwhile, they can't name one person who has died from this thing... It is either 5G, or IN the vaccine. THEN, we will possibly see numbers truly go up. Plus, who would even want to participate in a system that is so corrupt, right down to the bone... It is a sickening world, and the coward Luciferians are in control of every aspect of our lives right now.
Margaret Kaufman Even Alex Jones makes more sense than you. You’re just bitter that people care about their safety instead of stopping by your food truck. That's a wonderful sentimental line yes so trued indeed. @LAWRENCE First of all, this is an interesting place to start an argument over someone's UA-cam name. Secondly, you seem to be confusing anarchy with chaos. Anarchy is the state of being without rulers but not without rules. The natural law that an individual, or any collection of individuals, cannot ethically use force unless in response to force is the primary driving concept in anarchist philosophy. This concept is derived from the principle of self ownership and individual autonomy. The goal of anarchy is simply to stop the unjustified use of force that is inherent to the existence of government and other coercive organizations. That being said there are certain anarchist groups, typically more on the economic left than I am, that do not have a very good track record as peaceful people. If you would like to continue speaking with me I would humbly request that you do so in a calm manner rather than as a ranting preacher that never takes the time to justify their assertions. Simply putting a good few reasons behind your statements will do absolute wonders not only for your likelihoods of convincing the person you engage in discourse with, but also for your general perceived intelligence.

Tears at the end. There's so much to learn from older people. But mostly their smile and positive outlook! They sound happy! I'm 72 and I'm still looking to "change the world" and complete my artistic pursuits. My motto is " Never give up!" God will do the rest! ✝️💜
The woman who lost her twin babies called herself always lucky. Such a lesson!
Just about to write about this when I read your comment. Yeaah Great lesson!
A lesson.......what if it would happened to you?? A lesson...more like a punishment.
Awoken33 well it always depends on the mindset. For you it might be a punishment but for her it sounds like a blessing because it was certainly a opportunity for her to stay strong and learn to accept was happened and still staying positive
And not just them. She is telling about her daughter, which she loved immensely. She is talking about her also in the past....this breaks my heart all the time I watch this Video (which is quite often since years)
Gypsy Girl Tarot well definitely lucky compared to her twin babies

Vegan Edge no my life hasn't even hardly started unlike your life and edited message
I come from Poland and my own grandparents were extremely uptight, rarely smiling people. I got married with a Japanese man and all the elders in his family are the exact opposite. I never knew someone can be over 90 and this happy, this joyful, this social, this nice. I'm surely glad to become part of his family. Seems people don't really change with age much. They just are who they are.

No. It is nearly impossible to change who you are. You are who you are. You can become more patient, more kind, more understanding, etc. but you will always be who You've always been even with effort to change you are really just polishing yourself.
"Don't be afraid to talk to the person sitting next to you".
I wish I could do that but when I do the person have a bad look on their face as if I'm annoying them
We can't all be the same (sighs and smiles).
The person sitting next to someone these days is probably on their phone, how sad.

True..
"We did have problems but we got through them and I think nowadays people give up too easily "
@@StaalRulz2010 my father died because of the virus. There are millions more. Why do you keep your eyes closed?
Margaret Kaufman Even Alex Jones makes more sense than you. You’re just bitter that people care about their safety instead of stopping by your food truck. Just cause you don’t know a person that has died from the virus doesn’t mean that the people that have lost loved ones are bluffing. Do you truly believe that everyone is “blinded by the truth” and you’re the only enlightened one to see that it is truly the Luciferians that are mind controlling us? Stop relying on info wars and other similar sites for your information.
@@blacklungsanji3 I don't rely on that, brother. I pray that we are all protected from this evil. I do know the tests are very flawed & hospitals need money to stay afloat - so, what to do?
That's the whole point about marriage, it's just a reason to keep trying, to not give up so easily.
The first man, Cliff… I can’t believe he’s 101! I would have said late 70s! Still as intelligent and sharp as ever, I hope he’s doing well still 💗

I used to work in a nursing home, I asked a 103yo the secret to a long life. He told “don’t forget to breath!”. I laughed at the time but it has multiple layers really.
That’s true! Literally of course, then….take time to smell the roses, take a moment before you react, etc. Breathing is also the way to inner connectedness, pranayama. I’m sure you could dig up five more meanings.
@@christinasophiapaterno9022 those are pretty much the same meanings I put into it. Although to be honest I think he only actually meant the literal one, he was a bit of a joker.

All this romantic sentimental sh...., that doesn't help nobody, just take care of yourself (exercise, no excess weight, smoking, alcohol) and hope you don't die of cancer on an early age. Welcome to life. There is no specific manual around to get to a 100, so, it's an unhealthy goal. And if you do want to eat fatty foods, smoke and drink vodka, go ahead and enjoy it.

" I can live happily ever after because of my lovely memories."
Best Line Ever!
VERY POWERFUL WORDS...WE DIE, BUT OUR MEMORIES STILL ECHOES WITHIN OUR SOUL, THATS WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO BE GOOD AND KIND AT ALL TIMES. A BAD MAN OR WOMAN IS ALREADY IN HELL........
That's a wonderful sentimental line yes so trued indeed. However, MANY people through out the world have horrific lives where they've had to suffer with hurt and pain mentally and physically most of their lives which this line and thought could never be applied to. I myself have many SAD memories and when I think of most of my past I always cry. I have regrets and always wonder that if I had made a different choice and maybe better choices would I be where I'm at today? So I'm sorry but this line/thought is wonderful for people who have lived wonderful positive lives and doesn't apply to the many thousands who have gone through hell and back or lived very sad lives without a choice in the matter. Still ... these people are an inspiration to all and my hat goes off to them. It's all in the kind of lives we are blessed with and how we lived it but most of all the GENES.
*gets dementia*
He said “ a 100 is just a number, you live for the day” a very strong statement

the only thing i wouldn't like about living too that age would be outliving all my friends/family and children.
Oh I couldn't handle out living my 2 kids
@@jamama3 i am a positive person and living a full and healthy life sounds like a dream most people have but in my opinion the only thing i wouldn't like is outliving my kids that's it
Imagine not being able to hop on whatever the equivalent of discord is at that time and call your friends to play some games. Or outliving your parents and siblings by decades. That would honestly kind of suck. The only thing left to live for would be the study of life's mysteries and that's not always an old man's job.
@LAWRENCE ua-cam.com/video/tijcZCpemcs/v-deo.html . I don't agree with 100 percent of this video but it's mostly close and should dispel some the misconceptions you have.
Pay attention to the way they speak about themselves and what they believe. "I'm lucky." "I feel strong"
It honestly sounds like affirmations you have to force yourself to say, my goal is to be able to say it and believe it one day, especially at an old age :)
@Noe mfd Also, she said she had NO regrets. I'm happy for her, but I can't imagine not having any regrets!
