I'm hoping his parents help him learn to balance when to ignore negative attention and when to stand his ground, because it's likely kids like him grow up to repress their feelings since their parents always tell them to ignore bullying and negative comments towards them.

I think we're all so used to the hardships that we deal with on a daily basis as a society that we normalize them. What that causes is for them to seem not as bad as someone who doesn't find them to be normal might see them as. So, the kids find the bad things they go through to be bad but also just a part of their ordinary lives and hence managable, and what the 90 year olds have gone through to be unknown and terrible. And vise versa.
Personally, I still believe life is, as a whole, easier today than it was 90 years ago, but there are different problems now.

@Logan Paul my point is that you need to know how and when to use it. If you’re using social media just to gossip, take pictures of you looking for validation, etc. all of the wrong reasons then you’ll be pretty much unhappy. If you use it to communicate with family, a dear friend, work, etc then I don’t see the problem. Social media is like a double edge sword. It can be beautiful and yet can be dangerous and a loop of constant depression. I talked to this because of self experience.
