Very well deserved standing ovation . How cool must that feel to a performer , I can't even imagine ! Saw Burton at a small venue 4 years ago , front row center seats. One of the best concerts I've seen in my 63 years !!
"She hasn't got the faith or the guts to leave him when they're standing in each others' way." One of the best lines ever. (Been there a time or two myself.)
Wow, this brings back soo many good memories of me sittin' in my sister's room playing this 33 on their one speaker record player singin' my little ass off hoping to be a big rock star when I grew up. Timeless music, I wish more young people would hear this
Yep...Randy Bachman,Burton Cummings...what a combination those 2 were & still are..Saw them recently on Austin City Limits,or Sounstage...one of those decent music shows that turns up on tv now & then.....
I love to see bands progress and still play years later, they all look so much more sophisticated. Still very powerful, even more so if they were still playing together today.
Actually, those who skip meals are the ones that often have weight problems. It's important to eat every 3 hours hours so your body doesn't go too hungry, and binge on low nutrient densed foods.
No disrespect intended. Just making conversa! :) The Guess Who, especially Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, have been favorites of mine for many decades (age spoiler alert!).
mikemoonbeam, THANK YOU. A portrait of great band performing a terrific song; I never would have seen it without you youtube-ing the clip for all of us. And KattKatraine2157, I agree: why no Rock Hall for the Guess Who? They''ve been on my SHOULD BE IN list for a decade, along with Cocker, Rundgren, Procol Harum, Mayall, Nick Lowe, War, Spirit, Humble Pie, Steve Miller, The Cars, Leon Russell, Manfred Mann, Dire Straits, The Zombies, Roxy Music...
i love the story behind this song. a big biker dude looks scary walking down the street until his angry wife drives up and hollars at him for leaving her alone with the kids all day, and for not taking out the trash before leaving. then she tells him "you ain't getting no sugar tonight"
Guess What? Maybe they should put Stevia in that Fair Trade, Shade Grown Organic Coffee. [natural sugar substitute 30x sweeter than sugar without glycemic imbalances]. Also, dig the chair yoga moves. More like middle age taking over. Yeah, that bag of goodies better be healthy and as for that bottle o'wine, skip it, we are all in recovery now, right? Back in the day, we called it the "Ripples effect". We grew plants in big pots [wink, ;)] and ate lots of Alice B. Toklas brownies for "munchies":>
@msdazzle66 Looks like they have Bill Wallace on bass instead of Jim Kale. There were only four. Not sure who the other guitarist is, maybe Donnie McDougall?
To show what mere mortals actually sound like. Like the moneymakers right now, put them on a straight mike and it becomes real. Deal with it, because we don't sound like electronica, we sound like people.
They made a good point way back then. Modern women. Divorced one after 22 years of living HELL. All those years I was busting my butt ...the only thing she did consistently well was complain. USELESS. Free at last. Praise Jesus! Great music by the way!
seriously? Comments about their weights? Same bull is what made great singers like Anne Wilson hide rather than showcase their talents. We should have stretched their images? Shame on you all!
This right here is the Guess Who. Not the current lineup, this!
The best from the best…..kids, it just doesn’t get any better than this….enjoy !!!!,
One of the great bands and great voices of a generation
Garry Peterson always looks like the ultimate Canadian to me, smiling, having fun, cool, laid back.
This group should be voted into the Rock and Roll Hall Fame!!!
Mr Cummings es usted un maestrazo!!!!!!!!!
A more deserved standing ovation I can't think of. Just a brilliant piece of pure pop from a brilliant band.
Very well deserved standing ovation . How cool must that feel to a performer , I can't even imagine ! Saw Burton at a small venue 4 years ago , front row center seats. One of the best concerts I've seen in my 63 years !!
One of the best groups of all time without a doubt!
Never gets old, the Guess Who are the real deal. Canada's best
Awesome video...can't beat the REAL Guess Who..those freakin' imposters touring should be run out of town....Burton and Randy..you guys rock!
One among the Greatest Bands both Musically & Lyrically.
This has got to be one of the All Time Top 10 songs ever recorded. It goes along with Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress by the Hollies.
"She hasn't got the faith or the guts to leave him when they're standing in each others' way." One of the best lines ever. (Been there a time or two myself.)
Burton was and is awesome. Still sounds good. The Guess Who is one of the greatest ever.
Excellent live performance. Lyrics, melody, rhythm: all the components of a top pop song w/a great vocalist, Burton Cummings.
so good to see them together again.burton will keep on rockin' forever.hes still so handsome. love you burton
Check out Geddy Lee of Rush in the crowd during the standing ovation about 4:55 in!
Wow, this brings back soo many good memories of me sittin' in my sister's room playing this 33 on their one speaker record player singin' my little ass off hoping to be a big rock star when I grew up. Timeless music, I wish more young people would hear this
One of my favorite groups. No group owes the control room more for making them sound even better!
Yep...Randy Bachman,Burton Cummings...what a combination those 2 were & still are..Saw them recently on Austin City Limits,or Sounstage...one of those decent music shows that turns up on tv now & then.....
One of THE GREATEST songs of all time in my humble opinion! (Ten thumbs up!!)
Now thats what you call a standing ovation right there! Very much deserved. Love this band.
wow. thirty one years later. close your eyes, and they haven't changed.
STANDING OVATION..............YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
HOW I REMEMBER THIS MUSIC.............. ROCK ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wrote some of the greatest songs and have some of the most amazing voices. Really as good as anyone.
OUTSTANDING! The grove in this song, once it kicks in the second half, is undeniably great. So glad to see the standing ovation.
Good job with all the boys singing. Glad to see Don get at least a little bit more mic time.
I love to see bands progress and still play years later, they all look so much more sophisticated. Still very powerful, even more so if they were still playing together today.
shes gettin us all!
Tremenda canciòn inolvidable desde los 70
Some oldies just never seem to get old.
Those guys haven't missed many meals.....THAT'S for sure!!! Still rockin' it, too!
Actually, those who skip meals are the ones that often have weight problems. It's important to eat every 3 hours hours so your body doesn't go too hungry, and binge on low nutrient densed foods.
No disrespect intended. Just making conversa! :) The Guess Who, especially Burton Cummings and Randy Bachman, have been favorites of mine for many decades (age spoiler alert!).
i just have so much love for them!!
Great !!! I love comparing the same song, different vids, different locations.. Yeahhhh!!
That voice! A national treasure for Canada.
just incredible. to say Burton Cummings never got the credit he deserved is to say the very least.
Well none of the band did they were totally underrated band
Iove thid song. It is very elememtary in style and structure yet so meaningful. One of the first songs I learned how to play
I love you always! Shine on forever! Thanks so much for the music! XOXO Kerry
such an awesome band.
this was their best one.
they were really good back in their day, bus rider.
Good in 60's, good forever. Burton and Randy. Joe the Vet

SIMPLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, they STILL sound outstanding!

4:54 That's Geddy Lee clapping!
Shoot Neutrality it is!!
Garry Peterson still kicks ass on drums after all these years.
But he plays with the imposters ,wtf ?
One word for them.....Pros
Burton Cummings is one of the few Rock Musicians that looks better now than he did back in the day.
minha escola nos anos 60´s....
Awesome! + Geddy Lee is in the front row!
How does somebody perform with a voice like that for almost fifty years? He is still going strong at 65 years old.
i love the story behind this song.
a big biker dude looks scary walking down the street until his angry wife drives up and hollars at him for leaving her alone with the kids all day, and for not taking out the trash before leaving.
then she tells him "you ain't getting no sugar tonight"
In Berkeley Ca. even , land of tree huggars ! Lol
I agree maybe they should COM-POST IT!!!
I still remember my 8 trac going as loud as it would go! go leafs
@KattKatraine2157
YES
GREAT! YA THAT`S DONNIE ON THE RIGHT.
No auto tune here....still rockin and sounding great after all these yrs.
Amen!!!
Wallace teaches at West K in Winnipeg now. I met him about a couple weeks ago :P
The Guess Who Rock! Keep on going Randy and Burton!
To bad The Guess Who broke up
Guess What? Maybe they should put Stevia in that Fair Trade, Shade Grown Organic Coffee. [natural sugar substitute 30x sweeter than sugar without glycemic imbalances]. Also, dig the chair yoga moves. The first, very first, original "mash-up". Was about 1972, I think!
Joseph F
Portland, OR USA
420 NEW MOTHER NATURE TAKING OVER. please
The TRUE Guess Who.
ahhhhh fuck i love the guess who!!!
Yeah...that's where I wanna be
of course its him :P
was it me or did i just see getty lee in the audience from the band rush at 4:53
@msdazzle66 Looks like they have Bill Wallace on bass instead of Jim Kale. There were only four. Not sure who the other guitarist is, maybe Donnie McDougall?
I just saw Geddy Lee in the front row.
A group of old pros down for one last ride!
Omg, Jack Black could do an awesome version of this.
There’s a combined weight of about 2 tonnes in that line up.
UNDER RATED BAND SAW THEM LIVE IN THE 70'S WITH THE DOBBIE BROS THEY STOLE THE SHOW
These guys are great.....but the only thing missing is Leslie West sitting with them throwin down!!!!
The rock and roll hall of fame is a damn joke, when the likes of Guns and Roses gets in close the place down!
To show what mere mortals actually sound like. Like the moneymakers right now, put them on a straight mike and it becomes real. Deal with it, because we don't sound like electronica, we sound like people.
I love the Guess Who but, I have never seen a band all sitting down on stage before. I expect the Beach Boys to come out next , all on walkers.
I think I just discovered one of Jack Black's major vocal (and facial!) influences!
Really? NO one is going to say anything about the awful quietness of the vid?
They made a good point way back then. Modern women. Divorced one after 22 years of living HELL. All those years I was busting my butt ...the only thing she did consistently well was complain. USELESS. Free at last. Praise Jesus! Great music by the way!
That was definately Geddy Lee from Rush.
You know youre old when the whole band has to sit down and play.
Seems like they have a lot of sugar in their tea and coffee!
funny how they're all sat down now.... still got it going on though...
awesome... just wish they had shown more of the other musicians instead of focusing on the lead... that acoustic bass is so cool!
Randy's huge.... He's lost a lot of weight now though, I saw BTO last year
Now this is the real guess who!!! not that copy band trying to steal the name
seriously? Comments about their weights? Same bull is what made great singers like Anne Wilson hide rather than showcase their talents. We should have stretched their images? Shame on you all!
Some of that vocal reminds me of the guy from Alice In Chains
Huh?? 👂
