Finally got my commission back (no test required in my state, but it takes forever), and currently studying for the NNA certification. I did Mark Wills LSS, but I'm still EXTREMELY nervous about my first signing. @@sonyamartin6226 it's go at your own pace, but i think the 6 figure course is about 14 hrs of content...I did it in about 2.5wks, over the holidays, in the evenings only (I'm also taking real estate courses, work full-time with a toddler and in the process of moving into our first home).
@Noe R i paid $497 for the six figure program. It's legit and he actually contacts you personally to answer any questions. You can start with the fundamental program of you like ($197 I think), but honestly most of that stuff is on his UA-cam.

I kinda like that her chanel is mord info than brag like reviews. However i dont see many reviews of her program. So idk. Also kinda like his payment plan

I am also looking to sign up for the NNA exam . My question is, do you take the test as soon as you sign up or do they make you wait for a certain time frame? Is it after they complete your background check?
@@djackson1812 Hi hun, I live in California and we have to take an approved Secretary of State course, do a test and a background check down here. You would go to your Secretary of State website and you would register to take the test. They will give you a list of dates and locations to choose from. Once you select your date and successfully register you would take your test depending on the date you select. Because of COVID, we only have a few select dates and locations because they have to social distance so the test dates go kind of fast and it may be the same in your area so just keep that in mind. Once you receive your test results, you will do your background check and submit fingerprints, wait on your commission packet, purchase your materials, and file your oath and bond. Just keep in mind that where you may live you may not have all of these requirements so it is important to check your Secretary of State website.(Just type it into Google with your state’s name and put in notary public) They should have all the requirements listed, possibly a checklist for you to follow, and any other pertinent information. Good luck to you on your commission! Sorry for this long response lol

Got a question about item # 5. When you leave a business card, that's because you got that assignment from a direct client right? I ask because I heard that if you got the assignment through a signing service, some of them view NSAs doing this as poaching on their clients.
You are leaving the card with the borrower not the title company and that is mainly if they need general notary work as most buyers are not buying another house any time soon but they may need a will or POA executed.

I have a question about general notary work. I'm in NC, in which you aren't supposed to charge more than $5.00 per notarization, but I hear of other NC notaries charging more. I would like to do some general notary work to supplement my money until I get my loan signing business going, but for $5.00, it's not really worth my time...My question is, how do people legally charge more than their state says they can charge? I would like to charge more, but I don't want to get in trouble either! lol...Thanks for your videos. I love them!
If you are a mobile notary you can charge traveling fees
Become a MOBILE notary than you can charge for the travel fees.
Travel fee is $20, notary fee $5.
I would reach out to your notary commission and see how they recommend charging under a business. You can also reach out to other notaries in your state and see what they do. You do want to make sure you are operating legally.

Great information! May I inquire which E&O insurance company do you use for notary signing agent work? I’m using the NNA insurance, but from what I heard from other NSA’s, that only covers general notary work, not notary signing work.
I heard the same. Biberk insurance supposed to be better one.

I recommend the E&O insurance from NNA through Merchant's Bonding.

How does Notary Assist compare or differ from Notary Act?
They seem very similar but I have not used Notary Act before so I am not 100% sure.
I have put in my application to the state to become a notary. My question is was I supposed to do an application for signing agent or was I required to just do the basic notary the first time?
Most states you just apply to become a notary first and then once you have your commission and few other credentials we teach at www.notary2notary.com you are ready to start completing loan closings as well.

If I'm doing notary for another state, on the jurat/acknowledgement form, will I still put in the information for MY state and county where asked because that's where I am doing it? Or do I change it depending on state?
You fill it out based on the states where you are physically in at the time of the closing.

Yes that is enough but double check at www.naionalnotary.org and they can tell you the recommended amount for your state.
