I do not think the clients will rush you at all. That has never happened to me. You can give them an estimation for how long it takes you to complete a signing but that is optional. I feel like that may be honestly a issue a new notary experienced but most experienced notaries would not have this issue. They may have just had a bad experience but that is not common at all.
That was a great example of how to prep for a closing. I'm building up the knowledge for the exam and then for the first signing. These training videos are really helping. Thanks for keeping us educated!

Vanessa, do you ever fill out your Notary Certificate while prepping docs to save on some time at the table? I don't know if VA requires specific language in Ack's/Jurats, but FL does. If my docs do not have language that covers 9 points of information, I have to either (1) ask Title if I can electronically modify their docs w/Adobe Pro to correct the language on my Certs (most say sure!), (2) Stamp it with the language if there is space on the bottom, (3) write in the missing information if the cert comes close, or (4) attach a loose leaf. I find that filling out and signing (not stamping) the cert ahead of time, cuts down my time at the table significantly. I also require a copy of their ID before the appointment to ensure their names and addresses match the documents. I can't tell you how many errors I've caught and Title had to do corrections, or the borrower had to find another ID with the name listed on the documents. I had one borrower who ran to the DMV for a new DL 2 hours before I arrived just to get the "II" put behind his last name! Your thoughts?
You can pre-fill but do not sign or stamp of course. I don't usually but you could. I do it at the table. I do have to add additional certificates occasionally but not too often. Your process is very thorough and I wish you more success on your notary business.

Vanessa, I think your youtube videos are great and I have a question for you. If you are a disabled person with a designated driver can you still be a notary signing agent? I ask this question because it seems like no one can be with you but if someone was waiting to drive you would that be considered okay to show up with a driver and have them wait in the car until the signing is complete and you leave?
Great question, and I love it! You most certainly can defy the odds and make it work for you as well! Someone waiting in the car is not the same as a person going into each signing with you, and people bring along their babies when they have to sometimes. I most certainly say GO FOR IT! YOU GO THIS! YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

What does scan backs mean I'm sorry for the stupid question. Does that mean the company wants you to scan the docs signed and then ALSO MAIL them!

if you have a printer/scanner; can't you just do the scanback at the location, or do you have to always return back to the office and do the scanback?

What if you inadvertently notorize a document that didn't need to be Notarize??
You will be fine. It doesn't hurt anything.

No fax backs means that you are not required to scan and email or faxback the documents to the hiring company prior to shipping.

The copy the borrower signs goes back to the lender.
how to do you get the fedex envelopes? do you need to go to the fedex location and pick up a few to have on hold? same as for UPS envelopes?
