Google Voice (iPhone directions)-- you CAN identify a business call by first entering into your phone contacts the name of your notary business and Google Voice phone number assigned to it. In addition you can assign a specific ringtone for your business line. This way when you get a business phone call it will come up on your phone as the name of your business such as “John Doe Notary Service. What can I notarize for you, today?” This way you’ll be able to answer the phone more professionally. You can also make phone calls and text messages to your clients and signers using your Google Voice number. Love !!! Google Voice!

that's good to know, i always wanted to know how to assign google ringers. to know for fact. i was just going with my personal number. now i will reconsider .. thanks
I’ve been using Google voice for a year and it works well!
I have been using Google Voice for almost 5 years. I love it. Even when I miss a call and it goes to voice mail, those who call the Google voice number hear the voice message for my notary business, not the voice message for those who call my cell phone. I am always able to see if it's business or personal. If I miss a business call, I go to the Google Voice app., if I see they left a message, I listen to it or read it, and call them back. Most of the time they don't leave a message, but I still call them back, to make sure they did get someone who can help them. Sometimes I confirm a time and place with a client in a text message from the Google Voice number. So even the text messages for business and personal are separate.

Very good information, especially for someone looking to get into the mobile notary business and loan signing services. I know this video is from 2019, but a printer lease might be a viable option for some people as well. The printer leases are all different, based on what you are looking for, but some printer leases include toner, maintenance, and repairs as part of the lease. You the owner would be required to buy paper for the printer. You would pay a monthly lease payment. It's similar to leasing a vehicle.

Cam Scanner is amazing. I am a nurse and I use cam scanner .. it is amazing ..I use it for my notary business as well

Hi Donnell (and the NNA), I'm glad you addressed privacy with NotaryAct, but I wonder about the privacy in TinyScanner and AdobeScan. I'm compliance professional by day, and I'm always thinking about whether or not the apps I'm using to collect and transmit client data are "safe."

Wow! This was so informative. Question...In TN you have to have a contract with a RON technology provider before applying for your virtual Notary commission. I would like your feedback on who you would feel would be an ideal

Not sure how many of these Apps, plus a printer n scanner are necessary or just extras. Lots changes in a year. Starting out I hesitate to sign up for several monthly subscriptions before knowing the volume of work will exceed the costs.
Hi Linda. It really depends on the type of work you will be taking on, whether solely focusing on loan assignments, general notary work, or both.

Can I take my Texas notary oath in any state? Or does it have to be in Texas?
You will need to bring your commission certificate to a Texas Notary who will administer the oath and notarize the form. They will keep the commission certificate and oath (Tex. Gov't Code, Sec. 406.005).
In google voice, can you use the number you choose for your business number?

J B Caution-- I have a chrome book however it does not work with my dual tray printer. Chrome does not talk with Adobe
Thanks for your help. I ended up getting an ASUS 11" Notebook which I confirmed with both ASUS and Brother USA will work with Brother HL-L5200DWT and HL-L6200DWT it came with Windows 10s (I just had to remove it from "S" Mode).
