@@potatoman451 I'm not familiar with coding but how hard would it be to say *bell (on) within 250ft of a station or crossing* I'm sure the American horn sequence would be difficult but most crossings are no horn zones anyways.
I enjoyed all your reviews of the three core tsw 5 routes. I think that the San Bernardino Line is the best of the 3 core routes which i never thought I'd say about a US Core route. The issues with Frankfurt-Fulda and WCML just bring the overall quality of those 2 routes down. Apart from issues with the floating cars, the San Bernardino line is pretty good quality wise but the route really isn’t that remarkable in my opinion given the fact that the rolling stock is pretty much reused and it has a similar vibe to the Antelope Valley Line. I do hope that we don't get another Metrolink route anytime soon. Whilst I understand that DTG are having difficulty with licensing, it would be nice to get something new
I commute on the San Bernadino line Daily to Cal State LA, im glad they did well on the route, and I have to say they did a good job with the accuracy of it. But the timing of this release being before the October 21st schedule change, with added 1 hour headways to covina and back at peak times, is kinda poor timing and i doubt they would ever update the schedule for that.
Good Video hope your doing well i will be getting DTG new Route on the 29th but £29.99 every route now it's getting ridiculous now and the yearly TSW's too Dovetail Need to quit it
I didn’t realize it until you pointed it out, but not only is this the third TSW iteration in a row to have a route based in California, but more specifically Southern California…why? Well at least we got the MBTA route coming soon and maybe for next years game they’ll make a route based in a different region of the states. Overall they actually did pretty good with the three base routes for this years game, and I’ve really enjoyed WCML and the Kinzigtalbahn, and San Bernardino isn’t half bad either. Better than the TSW 4 routes which were all just meh and boring.
6:57 Well I've encountered a few of these "long" services on quite a lot of routes actually. 1. Linke Rheinstrecke 2. Peninsula Corridor 3. ECML (Especially the Class 66) 4. Tharandter Rampe 5. Kassel-Wurzburg Given the existence of longer services on these routes, I don't buy the reason of making journey times shorter on timetable mode. DTG should eother improve the save feature (because it breaks PZB/LZB etc) or provide an option to run those services in one go, instead of breaking out of the game.
train sim world in general is such a weird game series for me. the lackluster routes, the problem of reused assets, the not good sounds, everything in general just feels so wrong gameplay isnt really fun either and for me it never really felt like a true train sim, i was never really immersed in this world
It is way better the Antelope Valley for one, and I like the stock overall. But the performance issues, lag and stutter has let it down somewhat. Other than that, it is at least decent, I will say. But I have found myself yelling "Oi!" to the cars trying to go over the crossing as I was passing. But as someone who hasn't owned Cajon Pass until now, when I got it with the TSW5 Pre-Order, I say that it is quite nice to see the UP Stock around the route.
Good point about the bell when leaving stations. I always thought it was because it's too difficult to develop. However, I noticed at Fenton station in Blackpool Branches the horns would sound when the trains departed. Dovetail is just lazy not to include it.
Whatever station you're referring to, I think you might have got the name wrong. I don't remember there ever being a 'Fenton' station on the Blackpool route.
The MP36 for this dlc kind of makes me wish they make a metra dlc for the next USA route after the new mbta route featuring the metra MP36 variant, F40PH-2C/3C and maybe F59PH
I would say the best Metra routes to make would be the BNSF line, Milwaukee District North line, and the Electric lines. I’m not sure how hard it would be to get the licensing but if they did that’s three unique routes right there.
@@DC4260Productions No you definitely posted another video, I remember commenting on either that or another, and by no means am I mistaking such a video as being made by another channel.
If you own this, do you think it's worth it? The thing I'm talking about is the 390 Pendolino for the WCML, and the 380 for Cathcart Circle? Great video btw
In the case of the 390, she's pretty much a mandatory purchase because you simply can't have a modern-day WCML route without her. But even then, you'd be better off getting her on a discount.
Next thing you know, they'll be doing Stockton to San Jose, even though the schedule is really spartan (and the route would be quite boring as a result).
As much as I want to see Coaster (San Diego to Oceanside) come to TSW, DTG needs to take a long break from California routes because they've gotten boring.
I have no idea how Hi-iron is as a developer, but your comment on them got me thinking, so even tho i'm scared to ask i'll do so anyways. How bad are they?
The performance is definitely inconsistent. Running the service from Speedway into LA union. As we got closer to LA Union I would just get freezing, seems to be when the game is trying to load in scenery. Would drop from 60fps to 0, then spike back up.
5:00 EXACTLY!! Why!?!?! Horns too. This would be so nice to have, it would feel more alive and real.
It's complicated to code the logic in because in reality, there are numerous rules that engineers need to adhere to based on different conditions.

$29.99 is the same as $23 in 2019. It's pretty on par for inflation and what stuff was priced when tsw first came out (adjusted to 2024 price)
Pirate it! I pay for the good ones. The rest I have for free! Perfekt for all the overpriced locos and half ass maps for 30 dollars
@@MrRailfan its 29 pounds, not dollars. it would be 40 dollars and 35 euros. this is because the dollar has less value than the euro or the pound.

Im still wondering why dovetail did not create the bimbardier coaches in the old livery
Maybe Metrolink didn't want them to, but that's just speculation on my part.
What this route really needs is Amtrak. Without amtrak the route is stupid quiet.
$$$$$ Still saving some of US all more money. You are a real pal. Still have not got tsw5 yet, thank goodness. Great review and thanks .. $$$$$.
Looking forward to picking up all 3 base routes on heavy discount!

I'd love to see Metra in TSW, although I prefer their electric services.
@DC4260Productions imo the UP metra lines are better because all three are operated over freight railroad trackage yet get barely any delays

No. That was the Antelope Valley Line.

That is impossible as this route was not released until TSW 5's launch.

What would your rating be of this route out of 10? Would you say that this route is better or worse than Kinzigtalbahn and WCML South?
I'm not sure what to rate it out of 10, but I think WCML is probably the best of the core routes (although that's not saying much).
I swear DTG is about to map out every single rail line in CA (all except for the surfliner)
