I definitely have a few times, sucks when you really need to get to the other side and you can’t go around because it’s blocking the next crossing down the road lmao
Btw there’s a radio looking thing on the left side above the controls which has a “banking comm” button. It’s good to enable this so your locos at the front can communicate with the locos at the back so that the 3 locos at the back also help you.
Genuine question, how do these trains direct power? Is one engine doing all the work or are all the engines working together all at once to move the weight?
I don't believe this guy would ever make it as a real engineer.. I'd love to see his expression on duty in a real train with a 300 car 30K ton coal load.. not to mention 2 different DPU consist both Mid-Train and rear. at times needing to put the fence up
Man a Microsoft world would be sick imagine your driving a diesel train and a f22 flys past full afterburner or a Apache helicopter escorts you, that would be so sick
Pretty cool! In real life, Engineers use Dynamic Brakes first because it's instant. Train brakes are used to supplement if DB aren't slowing the train down enough. They start with "Minimum reduction" and see how it goes. Once it starts slowing down, they may go to full release and try controlling with just DBs. It's an art to manage the slack action. Very easy to jack-knife or pull apart a train. You have to visualize and feel what the train is doing and anticipate curves and hills. Not as easy as it looks. Gives an idea of the real thing. Great job!
Definitely don't want to stop the train with a full emergency brake application. Your conductor will be going for a walk to inspect the train, and you will be pulled in for statements.
I work on freight trains for everyday job. This looks fun though. 5700 ft. is small these days. Locos in the rear are called distributed power, required when you're a specific length and or weight
4:36. The way you do this fade away moment as you look directly at the camera ps very captivating and your tone of voice. Is absolutely phenomenal Trevor I love it. It’s my favorite part in the videos. And your enthusiasm. ❤. Please show Alex this.
If you ever buy any DLCs for Train Sim World 5 to do a video on, I think the London Underground, London Overground, Berninalinie, LGV Méditerranée, and the Midland Mainline are some really good dlcs
Family used to run a concrete business. No shot those cars are full of concrete, unless someone ordered giant train car bricks.. likely filled with cement (powder) which is a key ingredient in concrete. Very much a faux Paux to concrete people 😅
We recently ran a 300 car coal train to Georgia Power where we interchange to NS. that one had 2 lead engines + 2 DPU consist. first was 3 mid-train engines and 2 more engines at the rear
@@ArcIsConfused The Physics are off since it literally takes a few miles to get up to track speed. the right screen is black so it appears he can't fence off to operate the DPUs. this is Imperative when going over large grades.. among other many issues. so on a scale of 1 to 10 it looks like 3? maybe 4 at the most. Love it. Is this train and route part of DLC content? What game mode are you on to control this loco? Looking at purchasing this over Run 8 just saying my options of the new. Thanks P.S Edit to say great stop
On average for us (CSX) coal train 115 cars over 15k tons with 3 engines. Over 9k ft. Its a normal thing up in the mountains. And you dont have t.o. or ptc so you can run track speed lol.. you should try those specs and see how it pulls!
22:29 - Holy crap! That thing is so massive that if you look closely, it's not raining at the front of the train but spitting with rain when he switches to the back view! 😲
Steady yellow does mean, next signal is stop. However, that yellow he passed was blinking, which means highway-railway crossing, be aware of crazy drivers, potentially.
Never in a million years did I think I'd see the area I live in and road I drive everyday in a random UA-cam video about trains. Like the building and other things aren't exactly accurate but the road layout and rough building location's are pretty close. So bizarre
"100 cars filled with concrete" Yeah that's not accurate lol. I drive a mixer truck for a living. If it was concrete it would have set up(harden) within an hour lol. Maybe you were hauling powder or some other ingredient, but it was most definitely not "concrete" lol.
I dreamed that someday they make an open world game with cruise ships, planes, trains, semi trucks, and also emergency vehicles just entire world where you can go and drive anywhere you want. Be amazing
Imagine getting stuck at a level crossing waiting for this beast to cruise by
Could be why People are taking the risk, but it's hard to know the train's length until 30 minutes in
I definitely have a few times, sucks when you really need to get to the other side and you can’t go around because it’s blocking the next crossing down the road lmao
lol that would take forever. Especially if it's going like 15 km/h 😂
YOU GOT UH, CHIPS AND A BO'OHW'O'WO'ER?
sucks, especially if your responding to an emergency. we have to wait 20 ish minutes until were allowed to pass again.
As someone who drives these for a living, you would've ripped that baby apart when you went straight to notch 8 😂
My thought, greetings from a former train driver at SBB in Switzerland 😂
Which railroad are you with ?
He'd either blow the traction motors or just burn up the rails with his wheels spinning
Btw there’s a radio looking thing on the left side above the controls which has a “banking comm” button. It’s good to enable this so your locos at the front can communicate with the locos at the back so that the 3 locos at the back also help you.
It’s not that simple with the train with the computer screen it has to be done through the screen on that one
Stupid question, but does that mean that there are people in the locos at the back?
Usually there are and they communicate through the radio but in the game there isn’t
@@CSXRailfan6588 thank you for the explanation
@@LucasVigor this is cajon pass. The real service is Houston to los angeles but in the game it only has the section from Barstow to San Bernardino
As a railroader in real life myself a train like this would have a 4 units. 2 in lead, 1 mid train and tail end remote.
Yes, it would have a cut-in Duper!

Probably more like 4 in front, two mids, 2 rear

I hope he does some steam trains. Those are my favorite
and automobiles too

No joke I worked for BNSF 1.1 miles is bs haha they run 16000 footers nowadays
Was going to say a real train would be at least 120 cars. ( partner is retired CP)
Dang. Longest we run on our sub is 10k. Every now and then we’ll touch close to 11k
Almost a 5 kilometer train? Would hate to wait for that to pass....
Although if they get caught by union pacific police they would get fined for being over a mile. Still drive em though lmao
Punctuation would have been nice…..

The whole part of the train just rolling through was just ASMR bliss it was soothing honestly.

Agreed

11:34 little does Trevor know he just passed a missile silo 😂😂
😂. Looks like an odd spot for a storage container like he said it was.
The Microsoft world is a really good idea. Use FS as the game engine and core. You create an avatar and then can go explore, skill up, etc.
That Microsoft world idea is top tier, especially if it was one massive multiplayer based thing, would be wicked but a huge project
4:39 I know exactly why you made us watch the train pass, 🚽 💩 , yup we all know, wash your hands when you are done and flush😮😮😮😮
I hope this series continues for quite some time! I love it.
You nailed the landing, dude. Fantastic job!
That perfect stop ✋️, was the most satisfying thing 😌 👌
7:33 I counted 95 in Total including the train🎉😮
Why? It said 95 in the beginning of the video.
@@MrStian78 just for fun mate
Thankful someone else counted, I saw 88 bulk cars on the fly by and thought I just miscounted 😂
Great video, Trev. So many good sim games coming out. You have this, flight Simulator, Farm simulator, which i hope you do a series on.
This might be my favourite era of Tmartn

Yellow means advance approach, meaning the next signal could be red.
On BNSF a yellow just means approach. An advance approach is a yellow over green, meaning to prepare to enter diverging route not exceeding 50mph.
