    Btw there’s a radio looking thing on the left side above the controls which has a “banking comm” button. It’s good to enable this so your locos at the front can communicate with the locos at the back so that the 3 locos at the back also help you.

      Usually there are and they communicate through the radio but in the game there isn’t

      @@LucasVigor this is cajon pass. The real service is Houston to los angeles but in the game it only has the section from Barstow to San Bernardino

      I don't believe this guy would ever make it as a real engineer.. I'd love to see his expression on duty in a real train with a 300 car 30K ton coal load.. not to mention 2 different DPU consist both Mid-Train and rear. at times needing to put the fence up

    Pretty cool! In real life, Engineers use Dynamic Brakes first because it's instant. Train brakes are used to supplement if DB aren't slowing the train down enough. They start with "Minimum reduction" and see how it goes. Once it starts slowing down, they may go to full release and try controlling with just DBs.
    It's an art to manage the slack action. Very easy to jack-knife or pull apart a train. You have to visualize and feel what the train is doing and anticipate curves and hills. Not as easy as it looks. Gives an idea of the real thing. Great job!

    Definitely don't want to stop the train with a full emergency brake application. Your conductor will be going for a walk to inspect the train, and you will be pulled in for statements.

    I work on freight trains for everyday job. This looks fun though. 5700 ft. is small these days. Locos in the rear are called distributed power, required when you're a specific length and or weight

    If you ever buy any DLCs for Train Sim World 5 to do a video on, I think the London Underground, London Overground, Berninalinie, LGV Méditerranée, and the Midland Mainline are some really good dlcs

    Sand Patch Grade, Horseshoe Curve, Clinchfield Railroad, Cane Creek, and Sherman Hill are great US freight routes as well!

    Family used to run a concrete business. No shot those cars are full of concrete, unless someone ordered giant train car bricks.. likely filled with cement (powder) which is a key ingredient in concrete. Very much a faux Paux to concrete people 😅

    The Microsoft world is a really good idea. Use FS as the game engine and core. You create an avatar and then can go explore, skill up, etc.

      We recently ran a 300 car coal train to Georgia Power where we interchange to NS. that one had 2 lead engines + 2 DPU consist. first was 3 mid-train engines and 2 more engines at the rear

      ​​@@ArcIsConfused The Physics are off since it literally takes a few miles to get up to track speed. the right screen is black so it appears he can't fence off to operate the DPUs. this is Imperative when going over large grades.. among other many issues. so on a scale of 1 to 10 it looks like 3? maybe 4 at the most. I won't mention the lhittany operating issues he did within the trip

    On average for us (CSX) coal train 115 cars over 15k tons with 3 engines. Over 9k ft. Its a normal thing up in the mountains. And you dont have t.o. or ptc so you can run track speed lol.. you should try those specs and see how it pulls!

    Yellow means advance approach, meaning the next signal could be red.

      On BNSF a yellow just means approach. An advance approach is a yellow over green, meaning to prepare to enter diverging route not exceeding 50mph.

      Steady yellow does mean, next signal is stop. However, that yellow he passed was blinking, which means highway-railway crossing, be aware of crazy drivers, potentially.

    Those cars don't hall concrete, lol. That would be 2 bay covered hoppers. Those are 3 bay covered hoppers that hall grain and corn, etc

    Yeah that's not accurate lol. I drive a mixer truck for a living. If it was concrete it would have set up(harden) within an hour lol. Maybe you were hauling powder or some other ingredient, but it was most definitely not "concrete" lol.
