Finally a reviewer who played JPOG, enjoys the genre itself and understands the game even with it flaws... BRAVO!
This is the best review I've seen for this game. I bought the game today on the PS store as a part of the Black Friday sale deal.
and I'm thinking of doing the same, it's on sale atm with a weekend flash sale.
I'm glad he had fun and so did I until about halfway through the campaign. BE WARNED, THIS IS LONG.
The game is based off the core gameplay loop of boosting your rating to get better profit per minute before tackling the main contracts. That's it. That's the game. JP: Operation Genesis was honestly better for its time. Lots of challenges, actually punished the player for letting visitors die (nothing happens, you just lose rating for one minute and some profit in Evo), and the damn fences actually matter. If you have the best fence in jpog, it will feel like the best fence. The smallest dinosaur can bust down the electrified concrete wall if it's unhappy with the nearby trees in Evolution and the game is still somehow way easier. Don't get confused, this game is a modern COPY of jpog, just softened up so you can't fail. As long as your profit doesn't hit red, it's just a matter of time until you have all the tools you need. Don't get me wrong, the game is relaxing and charming just like jpog. Like the reviewer said though, contracts are a vital part of the game that don't feel like they should be as they are. When science lady offers me a contract to build a fast food building, I can't help but roll my eyes and plug along until I unlock all the stuff from that island.
Even the mechanics for Evolution are worse than in jpog. If a dino gets mad, it tries to get out. Understandable. Build an open park where the dinos are free and the people are behind a wall and they will fucking treat the park like Helm's Deep and try to break in when you don't give them their trees! Which is fine anyway, who gives a shit if 50 visitors die? The game forgets about it in seconds and forgives you right after. Jpog will make you shit your pants if dinos break free, you will FEEL the terror the visitors feel.
On that note, dinos aren't dangerous. AT ALL. Jeeps can't be damaged and visitor 'gyroballs' are ignored, even by the biggest sharpteeth. In jpog, a trex will straight maul a ranger vehicle and balloon rides can crash. If something goes wrong in Evo, no thinking required, just throw a jeep or chopper at it until it's better.
Way more things go wrong in Evolution regardless of how well you plan, and if you do plan well, it just becomes an annoyance. Wanna win with almost no chance of dinos escaping? Double-stack your walls. You can connect multiple layers of walls. Do it with the cheapest garbage wall and it will work better than concrete.
I got every damn achievement for this one, so I will definitely say it is worth playing, but this a 7/10 from me.
The game also poses like there is a "plot" and gives you the impression that confrontations will occur. Not so. You just build parks while snarky characters encourage you and then discourage you to do the same damn things even if they were spouting ethical bs on a previous island. No payoff, just getting more ear candy from Malcolm for being a sociopath ratings hoarder. Once you're done, you're done, minus a couple 5 star queues for credits to roll.
PS: I honestly didn't mind the Owen actor. Waaaay worse was Pratt's actual costar. Yikes, her voice-acting.

JWE is an alright game, but it definitely isn't the masterpiece this video makes it out to be.

At what age would you recommend this game? my son really wants me to buy it for him he is 7 years old he normally just plays all the Lego games and is really good at them but I feel like this one maybe a little complex for him.

It kinda bugs me that whenever i see footage of the "Park" it looks more like a research facility or small outpost on the side that is just caring for a few dinos. As compared to Operation Genesis' grandeur. Was hoping to see parks like the one in the Jurassic world film at least.

I've watched a few people play this.... is it me or do the dinos die of "old age" really fast.....? What does it mean when it says "life span: 50"? 50 minutes? 50 hours (it was more like minutes...).
Azhrei2000 lol idk but they do die fast later on in the game u can genetically modify them to live double or triple the amount
I played few hours today and ot feels really fun. Only think I find bit disappointing is how you cant walk around your park and island. You can drive but its not the same. Oyherwise it feels really satisfying.
I love this game but that is mainly due to the fact that i'm a total dinosaur nerd. Even i can admit that it needs a lot of work right now. It has just been released though so hopefully there will be a lot more stuff added in future.

Well... if you compare JP:E to Planet Coaster... JP:E is an incomplete, featureless game with clunky animations and no depth...
I really dislike IGN for many reasons... but I kinda understand why they wouldnt rate this better then 6.5 or maybe 7 on a good day.
But yea... 5 is really harsh.
LetsPlayCrazy I haven't played it personally, but the person who reviewed it missed out on alot, didn't mention the weather and what can happen, also forgot to mention where you can mess around with the dna wether to make the dinos life last longer or to raise the attack or defence, plus he marked jeff goldblum for not pronouncing the island right, jeff even rolled the "r", also he called the ceratosaurus "ceranosaurus", its not big, but that just really bothered me lol, and when he got mad cause there was no aqautic or flying dinos, when the game barely came out, tbh they should've had someone else review the game

This is the best game I have ever played
This game is great. Ya its a bit simple overall but everything works well there is enouph to keep you somewhat busy. Most important the dinos look amazing and there really is a lot of them. This game is a solid 8
I don't know... I honestly feel like I want my money back. 9 days of play and I just ended up bored and frustrated with the game - and I had been looking forward to this game ever since it was announced.
I am upset that this ripped so much for JPOG but didnt bother with the best stuff like different types of guest, the Alpha dinosaur mechanics, herd/pack behavior and non feeder based foliage your dinos could eat so you could actually create exo systems. I could accept that it is the same game with a graphics update if it also took all those amazing features as well. Like JPOG also had you taking photos for cash and rep, but what is that next to create a dino game reserve with carnivores and herbivores in one. Instead you carnos just go on kill sprees, it really sad. JPOG had a way better dino AI and it came out in 2003 a whole 15 years ago. There really is no excuse. Just shows how ahead JPOG really was!

Uh, you can unlock Isla Nublar by achieving a 4-star rating on the FIRST island.
Also, I felt Owen's voice acting was better than Henry Wu's.
Yeah it but it takes a long time to unlock all the shit necessary to make the park of your dreams.

this game just came out we'll be getting more stuff obviously and possibly larger places to play around in alot of these guys seem to forget alot of awesome games sucked at first like Final Fantasy 14
Lelouch Strife I think it’s not finished as of now but definitely a lot of fun, the just release 6 new Dino’s last Friday, I hope they keep releasing more patches and content
The first look is absoluty. But - On a deeper look it is lacking many core things in a park-simulation. There is no really "visitor happiness" Its only your Rating, that gives a kind of this feeling. but nothing like clicking on a visitor and get Infos what they are missing in your park, what they think, what they feel. Also it is pretty annoying you have to tell every ranger team all the time what they have to do. Plus dinos are ignoring your rangers 100%. They only threat visitors / other dinos if they break free. The resource "money" is not important at all, except for one Island where youre stating with -2Mio $. The story?.. meh. Youre just playing the game by it self, unlocking things while people tell you to do some special (sometimes dumb) stuff with a few voicelines.
But - i hope they will support it further with DLCs and updates etc.

IGN reviewed this bad cuz IGN's Reviewer never play the game like this, he just play Call of duty and give all Call of Duty Franchise 9/10, even the gameplay look same every fucking year. But this game is different this is revolusioner!

Most accurate review! This game is terrible. It is so fun and so addictive it should be illegal. Not biased. I've only ever played one sim game in my life and that was SimCity2000.
That's why you use cheat engine to speed up the game when it's taking to long.

Download cheat engine and open up the game process; the program already has an easy speed hack slider that works with most games. Jurassic World Evolution uses DENUVO V5.0 - an Anti-Tamper and Anti-Cheating Application - but it rarely targets cheat engine; if it does then bypassing it would be hard.

even though it's not a bad game it's not better than JPOG, there are too many flaws for me and a 9 is too much, for me is more a 6 being JPOG a 7. ( my personal opinion)
I hated the game. You're never given clear instructions how to get objectives done. For example I get a quest to sell a dinosaur and I'm left to figure out how to do it. Than while you're trying to figure it out, you get bombarded with objectives left and right and start to fall behind. After a couple hours of trying to figure out all this junk on my screen, I just gave up and uninstalled. I'm sure the game is fun once you figure out all but with no clear instructions, I kept having to depend on google for directions on how to play the game. Was not fun at all.

- Park is too small. ( a prebulit park on the Islands are a bad idea the negates creativity)
- A "PARK" SIM with no guest input.
- dinosaur animations, aside from leaving the incubation center( even this gets old VERY fast) is terrible. Filled with the same animations with the same animated fights. Plus, raptors don't hunt in packs, really!??
- Dino AI is....lacking. not the right number(dinos)or the right amount of foliage gets them to break your fences.
- resupplying feeders and removing dead dinos are WAAAY to frequent. (Nothing automated??) What's the point of have a ranger squad if they can't do that without direction!!??
- dig sites and dinos creation is too repetitive.
- landscaping tools are limited
- limited building varities
- NO PAUSE/FAST FOWARD BUTTON!!!
- A repetitive grind on ALL the islands
- Spend so much time resupplying feeders and removing dead dinos that I don't have the time to actually ENJOY my park!!

I've highly enjoyed my time with this game. Could it be better? Sure it could. And frontier will most likely be updating the game with more and more as time goes on. Look at their other game they are still supporting (elite dangerous )

B)NOT even jpog had different animetion per fight, tf you talking about, there is a max of 4 final animations and all are used just by rex, spino and triceratops, no other dino has special animations aside the bite and taip waving in order to defend themself
C) the guest problem is very very understandable, in a park can be more than 15.000 guests and how many can you check before realizing that the parks star screen give you better information and faster? 10-20 meaby 50? 100 if you're really mad or you don't have anything better to do but thing is even 100 guets is NOTHING compared to 15.000 it's a tiny portion and is not a good rappresentation of the overhaul satisfaction of guests, cool freature bu certanly not neccesary
This game was sold on the name alone. Bare bone mechanics and repetitive tasks that dull after a couple of hours. This game would have been a million times better if it were more like rollercoaster tycoon or planet coaster with the Jurassic park name. This game is a cash grab and dupped everyone into believing in it. People ripped apart No Mans Sky for falsely delivering. Why not hold this game, (ALL games!!) To this standard. They showed a 45min play time bc anything after that is just rinse, wash and repeat to maddening levels. It should have been more PARK orientated. I'd rather bulid the park and manage that instead of the bullshit story(which sucked) and pointless contracts.

Crystal Fox no...dude. This is a 60$ game, which means AAA quality. Which isn't present here. Even the reviews say so, with everything not being up to par. MANY reviews say the same. Many of them say the same and STILL recommend the game!! Insane in my opinion. This game is clearly lacking. You don't think so then that's fine. I would trust opinion of a child anyways.
