Maybe my eyesight is just getting poor but to me the first one had better graphics and animations. Many (like myself) feared that a whole new game engine would be implemented and it would ultimately make the game like a whole new one. I'm very glad it's still the same and feels like a continuation of the first one with added bonuses. In the end I think most love this game for one thing, Sandbox Mode! I just wish the hadn't made it so tedious to unlock everything to be able to play it.
I wish they could include an option to experience the park on foot....you know like sit back, chill a bit, stop thinking about money and controlling the dinos for once...just being the expectator.
If you haven't played either 1 or 2, just buy 1. You can get a cdkey for probably £5 and that'll satisfy you more than enough until number 2 comes down in price.
What if I kind of plan on playing Jurassic World Evolution, not played it before, and I have grabbed a free copy when it was available on Epic Games Store?
I enjoyed the first one for months but than it became a bit repetitive. Has anyone been a fan of the first and can day that I would enjoy this one again? Or is it the same but polished?
within the very first minute i alr saw the first glaring problem the first one had already. security. it breaks my immersion if i have a big fat gate opening up that brings me directly to the dinosaur cage. no second gate or anything. theoretically a dinosaur could easily run out while the gate is opening up. not to mention it could be a frigging t-rex. making actual BIG cages for the dinosaurs (like in jurassic park) with tons of different animals in it is still not feasable it seems. instead ya will STILL build small cages to maximize your observation platforms. an having carnivores together with your veggie dinosaur without getting them killed instantly is just impossible. that's what really bugs me and what annoyed me the most in the first one (apart from other glaring problems it had). but at least they try to improve an existing game instead of completely scrapping it.
Jurassic World Evolution 1 and 2 are, for most part, a remake and remaster of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. Truly, the devs loved the game as much as we all did!
I enjoyed the first game but only played it briefly, this looks like i could spend a loooong time on it creating the ultimate dinosaur vs tourist park of death. Worth a buy indeed, thank you Mack x
Kinda weird how there are no reviews from major outlets for this sequel yet. Even more strange is how IGN did no promotional content for this one like they did the first.
I have to say that sadly the 1st game was better. Campaign here is far too short. The scientists feature in the new game feels like a poor attempt at making the game more complex. It gets annoying, boring and detracts from actually enjoying the core dinosaur park game. It’s ‘busy work’ rather than fun stuff. The developers could have focussed more on features to enhance the fun of building and running a dinosaur park but instead we are managing people and fuel (every second of the day). One or two minor improvements in this new version granted (fences and paths), but the 1st game was much better overall, play that one. This is a missed opportunity. JWE2 uninstalled.
I love this game so much I know it’s not with out flaws however though they took the first game and fixed almost every single problem the first game had and for that I love it
As someone who put about 200 hours into the first one. I will enjoy this one But it's disappointing, I think the jeep and helicopter control awful. The menu system is worse Animals still clip through trees and each other And it's glitchy. Way too glitchy But at least Frontier is ace on listening to feedback and providing free updates and content drops along with DLC I just think they probably should have waited to release it alongside the movie The game would have had more hype and sold better. And they would have had time to iron out these rough edges, and possibly even include what seems like missing content in the campaign. Sandbox also isn't a true sandbox because you still have to manage your staff with requirements. I just wanna build dammit!
For 200 hours, what do you usually do to be able to play that long? I haven't played this game yet even the first one. Just checking if I should buy it haha
@@TooGnarlyyy for one, you have to be a big fan of at least something in the game or it won't hold your interest lol For me JP is my favorite movie of all time and I'm still absolutely in love with dinosaurs So they were my main attraction However, to play the campaign and all the DLCs will run you a good 40-50 hours give or take I also made sure that I unlocked everything and at least 4 starred every park I built Then I would often demolish and completely rebuild those parks with all the better upgrades and dinosaurs I unlocked And I spent a lot of time in sandbox mode, just really trying to create new unique parks on every map. Always trying a different idea and tweaking the game settings I never even touched challenge mode, but some people will enjoy that a little more Yesterday however my roommate bought the new game for both of us Largely it feels like more of the first one. But with more micromanaging your staff, dinosaurs, building. Some people may like it, but I feel like some of it doesn't actually add to the game. It just adds to your chore list to cycle through I've also encountered a few bugs, and there's a occasional screen tearing. I'm on Xbox1X. Maybe it's better on new consoles and a good PC I think the Jeeps and helicopters control worse, and the menu is clunkier than the first game Those are my negatives so far But on the positive side. Dinosaurs have way more detail. And their behavior is significantly better than the last game. They have much more animation variety, they have way more social interactions with the same species and other species. Carnivores hunt more realistically. And each dinosaur you make will already have a different personality. Some will be more placid, nervous, or aggressive. And the new exhibits you build with the aviary and lagoons are just super cool. Even if the animals in the lagoons don't do too much other than swim and eat. For me I like releasing smaller marine reptiles just to see them get eaten by the bigger ones lol... I know as somebody who loves the last one so much, I will have fun with this one. I'm just a little disappointed by a few of the changes, and how unoptimized it is at launch. The good thing is the developers provided free updates and content for the last game for nearly 2 years after the original came out. They listen to the fan feedback and add more features and fix bugs. They also provided a plethora of paid DLC. More dinosaurs and buildings and 3 campaign expansions. Basically the first game upon completion was drastically different than when it launched. A lot of people thought it was pretty shallow at lunch, but I still loved it just because of my bias lol. But it definitely only got better So my hope is that with this game the developers will continue along that path and really improve this one. I would say if you're on the fence, get either of them at a sale price. Hopefully by the time this one has a discount, a lot of these bugs will be ironed out. If you have a good PC or either of the new consoles, it should also look a lot better than mine does
I'm waiting for that WAB for The Definitive Edition of the GTA Trilogy. 😅 I feel like you've got a lot of negative stuff to say about that because... oh, boy... it's not what i myself hoped for. It's not *too* bad but it's far from ''great''.
I would have loved of seen a breeding style mechanic added to this, making nursery's and having to tend to them while they mature, could of added another layer of creating unique colours and stuff. Still looks like a 'wait for sale' for me
Not enough added to this to warrant paying the huge amount. Should of been dlc for the first. Hope you review Prehistoric Kingdom early next year Mac. That's going to be the ultimate Dino Park creator.
YES, my hopes/expecations are so much higher for it. Frontier needs competition, they are getting lazy. I really want a perfect, modern callback to Operation Genesis.
My only complaint about the first game was that I really wanted a fully unlocked sandbox right from the start. I did enjoy the game itself, but with my schedule, sometimes I just want to sit and chill for a little while without having to jump through hoops

Where's the vanguard followup video mate?
If you haven't played either 1 or 2, just buy 1. You can get a cdkey for probably £5 and that'll satisfy you more than enough until number 2 comes down in price.
Should of made it more like operation Genesis and have lethal options for dinosaurs.
What if I kind of plan on playing Jurassic World Evolution, not played it before, and I have grabbed a free copy when it was available on Epic Games Store?
then burn your pc if you installed it
If Mac's reviews ever go mainstream, I like to imagine Morgan Freeman doing the intro.
He probably won't ever go mainstream. He isn't politically correct and woke enough
@@derpherpula592 its a large part of his appeal, never change Mac.
@@derpherpula592Nobody past middle school unironically says woke
@@z-form2559 I guess you haven't been following American politics recently. Plenty of people say it
I enjoyed the first one for months but than it became a bit repetitive. Has anyone been a fan of the first and can day that I would enjoy this one again? Or is it the same but polished?
Its woke but fun.
I would DEFINETILY 100% BUY THIS GAME if it was 20 or 30 quid
oh dear ... it looks like you reviewed the first game lol
Jurassic World Evolution 2 is exactly the same graphics and mechanics and everything as the first one...
This would be a much different game if Richard Hammond was in it. Jeep would never be on its wheels, and probably on fire.
And you would hear in the background Jeremy's voice mumbling " blithering idiot ".
within the very first minute i alr saw the first glaring problem the first one had already. security. it breaks my immersion if i have a big fat gate opening up that brings me directly to the dinosaur cage. no second gate or anything. theoretically a dinosaur could easily run out while the gate is opening up. not to mention it could be a frigging t-rex. making actual BIG cages for the dinosaurs (like in jurassic park) with tons of different animals in it is still not feasable it seems. instead ya will STILL build small cages to maximize your observation platforms. an having carnivores together with your veggie dinosaur without getting them killed instantly is just impossible.
that's what really bugs me and what annoyed me the most in the first one (apart from other glaring problems it had). but at least they try to improve an existing game instead of completely scrapping it.
Is it worht buying the deluxe edition directly or is the main game enough?
I was hoping to get an update on the cod woke video.
I have the first but haven’t played much, it seems really good but idk if I should get the 2nd one.
Jurassic World Evolution 1 and 2 are, for most part, a remake and remaster of Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis. Truly, the devs loved the game as much as we all did!
This game feels hamstrung by Dominion's delay. Looking forward to a year from now when the REAL version of this game comes out.
Will get this on sale just to let the carnivores run freely around the park. Looks really fun.
I would like this it’s just I’m not creative there for It will be pointless for me
I enjoyed the first game but only played it briefly, this looks like i could spend a loooong time on it creating the ultimate dinosaur vs tourist park of death. Worth a buy indeed, thank you Mack x
Kinda weird how there are no reviews from major outlets for this sequel yet. Even more strange is how IGN did no promotional content for this one like they did the first.
After a shitty review for the first one, are you surprised?
But yes, it is weird there are so few reviews from the big ones
Fan of Jurassic franchise, fan of JWE and this game is such an improvement, however why is it a sequal? it should have been a big 2.0 DLC.
Ironically people would have more games instead of dlc. I have the first and I think this is alright being a sequel
So it's basically a 60 dollar better tweak ill wait for a sale 🤔
Before I watched this review I didn't know that the hell a "paddock" was
What happened to the other cod vanguard upload u was gna do
Waiting for a Battlefield Review, mostly interested in Portal mode!!!
Honestly this should have been an update, and even then there are shortcomings which were solved in planet zoo over two years ago. A shame really.
Oh my friend, you need to do Kainga! I need your witty analysis before I can commit to a purchase :D
Hey Mack, hey daddy!
Still waiting on the COD Vanguard second video. :(
I love this game so much I know it’s not with out flaws however though they took the first game and fixed almost every single problem the first game had and for that I love it
As someone who put about 200 hours into the first one. I will enjoy this one
But it's disappointing, I think the jeep and helicopter control awful. The menu system is worse
Animals still clip through trees and each other
And it's glitchy. Way too glitchy
But at least Frontier is ace on listening to feedback and providing free updates and content drops along with DLC
I just think they probably should have waited to release it alongside the movie
The game would have had more hype and sold better.
@@TooGnarlyyy for one, you have to be a big fan of at least something in the game or it won't hold your interest lol
For me JP is my favorite movie of all time and I'm still absolutely in love with dinosaurs
So they were my main attraction
However, to play the campaign and all the DLCs will run you a good 40-50 hours give or take
I also made sure that I unlocked everything and at least 4 starred every park I built
Then I would often demolish and completely rebuild those parks with all the better upgrades and dinosaurs I unlocked
And I spent a lot of time in sandbox mode, just really trying to create new unique parks on every map. Always trying a different idea and tweaking the game settings
I never even touched challenge mode, but some people will enjoy that a little more
Yesterday however my roommate bought the new game for both of us
Largely it feels like more of the first one. But with more micromanaging your staff, dinosaurs, building. Some people may like it, but I feel like some of it doesn't actually add to the game. It just adds to your chore list to cycle through
I've also encountered a few bugs, and there's a occasional screen tearing. I'm on Xbox1X. Maybe it's better on new consoles and a good PC
I think the Jeeps and helicopters control worse, and the menu is clunkier than the first game
Those are my negatives so far
But on the positive side.
But it definitely only got better
So my hope is that with this game the developers will continue along that path and really improve this one.
I would say if you're on the fence, get either of them at a sale price.
Hopefully by the time this one has a discount, a lot of these bugs will be ironed out. If you have a good PC or either of the new consoles, it should also look a lot better than mine does
Is it, is it, IS IT?!!🛎️
Is it as good as operation genesis?
I'm waiting for that WAB for The Definitive Edition of the GTA Trilogy. 😅 I feel like you've got a lot of negative stuff to say about that because... oh, boy... it's not what i myself hoped for. It's not *too* bad but it's far from ''great''.
Is it hectic or is it a game you can kick back, take your time and enjoy?
You can chill and take your time
i have the first game i dunno if the sequel is gonna be different enough or not. i plan on getting everything for the first one first .
Will you do a review for gta trilogy ?
The marine one is the Mosasaur and pterodactyls are the flying ones
" you have to unlock stuff first before u can play the sandbox"
well that is a deal breaker for me!.. thx you just saved me $60
it's not hard to unlock them through you'll get half the roster by the first day.
Bullshit
@@Scitch-et4vk what's bullshit? Surely everyone's entitled to their own opinion.
Green Man Gaming comes through for me yet again, got Jwe2 and all its dlc for half of what steam were charging, thanks Sir Mack :D
Just want to get the opinion of everybody before I buy a game. Which is better, this or Planet Zoo?
Definitely need to see The Forgotten City review... really enjoyed playing that...
Looks good however iv come up against camera glitches
Thanks for this, you might like the show Primal!
Thank you Mack for the video always love your reviews
Aven colony, Tropico 5 and 6.. I'm gonna buy this game since I love such genre.
Edit: I hope Dino Crisis will be rebooted for the new generation of gaming.
When is the New World review part 2 coming?
Me and my friend have been waiting 2-3 days for this review. On ya mac
Im the friend ;)
Completely unrelated, but ye favourite Blackadder episode mate?
please do a review of cooking simulatorr.surprised you never did a review few years back when it came out.
