- Is the Steinhart Ocean One 39 right for you? Come watch!
I am definitely loopy and sleep-deprived as I didn't get much sleep last night and spent all day working on this video. Let me know what you think of this new offering from Steinhart. Do you love it, hate it, or are impartial? I am seeing things. Shadows, man. Shadows in my vision. Time for a hibernation.
Bypass the fluff!

About fifteen minutes after I filmed that footage in the beginning, I crashed my quad (Dji Spark) into a pond. Heh. Winner! I think it'll be okay, though. I have taken steps to keep it alive. We'll see.

Why would you apologize for the watch being a homage? It's your money and your joy! Don't care about the watch snobs. It's indeed a nice watch.
I seriously don't care about snobs but I do respect the honest, rational opinions of others :)
Well not all of us can drop 19 grand on a watch... Pretty crazy tbh.
I guess people are a lot friendlier than I am. Q : "Why would you wear a fake Rolex?" A : "IDK, why would you marry a woman as ugly as your wife?". Conversation will terminate at this point.
@@waterhead1029 I'll borrow this line the next time I get the same question, thanks!
Always like the way you are making the video so unprofessionally. Stay that way, that's what makes your video special. I've own the older version Ocean One for almost 3 years. My opinion, value for money.
Thank! I appreciate it :)
And his "unprofessional" style is actually much better and more informative than any other channel's reviews.
Thanks Georgi! Gosh. I appreciate that so much!
Sweet. Sweet.... and....sweet.
I get a contact high watching him, they can get some pretty good stuff in Hawaii, but he's always so cute and funny.
Please do not script your videos! The raw feel is what makes your videos worth watching. As for the watch its awesome! Keep up the good work, forward to 1 million subs!!
Thanks, man! Yeah, when I watched the first video, I threw up in my mouth. haha!
Youre the only one doing it the way you do on youtube.Keep it up :) thanks for the videos
Thanks, man!
Bravo for your perseverance! Both on re-recording the video and on getting the watch that we wanted to see! You are truly one of a kind (broken record again), thank you!
Awe, man thanks! I appreciate that!
Loved the review! Thanks for taking 7 hours to make it. I have the 39 gmt blue-red inbound, and have been venturing into Steinhart reviews.
Been eyeing this exact model up since they released, thanks and keep up the good work!
I'll definitely pick one up.
Happy I found this channel, made my day. Keep on rocking bro!
I've been waiting on this one since I saw you brought the watch!! Love your vids, as always!!
Thanks, Thomas! I appreciate you!
You are absolutely right, we don't need a more 'professional' presentation from you. I enjoy your sense of humor, cheeto memorabilia made me laugh. Also, you put those glamor shots at the end, those look pro, and really let the look of the watch soak in.
Thanks, Jim. I appreciate it :)
Thanks for the review--you pushed me over the edge with it, and I bought the 39mm green as my new daily beater. It looks great on my 6.75" wrists--small wrists for my large frame and 6ft 2 height, and I have large hands. This 39mm really looks good though, not too small at all (though if you're 20something and have only worn modern 42-44mm watches, it might be a slight shock). I enjoy having the Kermit look in the right size proportions.
I really dig the smaller 20-16mm bracelet too--comfortable, comfortable. I used to wear a Steinhart Vintage, and I loved the look, but the less tapered 24mm-18mm bracelet was not nearly as comfortable as this smaller, sharper tapered version on the 39mm. Of note on my watch is the beautiful fit and finish of the end links to the case--every bit as smooth and perfect as Rolex Submariners I've handled.
I wish the green was a bit more light and verdant--in darker lighting the insert on mine can almost pass for black. But it's definitely much more bright green in sunlight....
Keep up the good work, very enjoyable to watch! Transition sounds are hilarious
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Dang, I love your intro! I think the green bezel went really well with the aerial shot of the trees.
Hey man, don't chance the show, just be yourself, have fun... you can be sure your viewers are having fun too!
Keep up the good work!
Best regards from Brazil!
I couldn't change if I tried and I did try! lol. Thanks, brother!
Amazing watch. Bought one for a friend and I liked it so much I'm gonna get one myself!
I got one in order, it's coming in may I'm so pumped !
Great vid and I'm glad you used this vid and not the first one. Nice looking watch but WOWZAA A lot you went threw for it. Congrats brother!!
Great and very entertaining video! Just the right balance between serious information and personal opinion/ humor. Keep up the good work! BTW: just ordered the Steinhart and can’t wait to get my hands on it/ to review it on my channel.
I really like your normal style....Its very cheerful, honest, not-pretentious, happy and very uplifting. You do a great job, and watching your videos cheers me up. please don't let anything bother you. There is a jazz- level of skill in your happy conversational "riffing".
Simon, thanks for that. I really appreciate it! Jazz-level. *snaps fingers*. I like that!
You're very welcome. :)
Gawd, get your shyit together, we are not interested in your personal complex issues.
I bought this in black 2 years ago and sold it a year later for a bit more than what I paid for - it was sold within a couple of minutes after I listed it on eBay ... that’s when I realized I really had a good watch that decision bothered me until I bought another Steinhart. now I’m looking to buy one more. that’s how much I love this brand
Great video as always. This one is definitely on my list.
Thanks, Juan! Cheers!
this is actually an unbelievably good review lol. love the quality and the wit, gg
I had 4 rolexes, speedy and navitimer, sold them all and just got a Steinhart OVM 39mm. I think I would get one of these too , just don't see the point anymore in having $5000++++ watches, some of the cheapers ones give me as much enjoyment....
Machines that are also works of art... Brilliant!
=) Like many cars and bikes!
Everides a Watch Guy too?.?. AWESOME....
hm.... what's the klr of watches?
Indeed .
Don't you ever change your style to review ever! Because just like you said: I subscribed to your channel because your reviews make me laugh a lot! Great review and thank you
Perfect review
keep doing your video naturally man, without any script, that what makes your video unique and more enjoyable to watch :)
Thank you, I appreciate it!
I am a big fan of the self-analysis you do. It makes your content super relatable and comforting. A human element you don't get from the sterile "professional" reviews. 10/10.
A good review and spiced up with character commentary. Mahalo!
Great video man really enjoyed this some great information for someone looking to buy a steiny but a good laugh too 💯
Awesome watch I love the Steinhart brand.
Thanks for the review
Thanks, Timeforfun! I appreciate it!
That has a nice ETA movement and really decent beats per hour. Good price for the watch. There are people paying 500 dollars for fake watches all kinds of luxury brands, but they are still fake and probably shotty materials. This watch you have is honest. Nice sweeping second hand, looks as good as high-end expensive ones.
Tristan Pouw Maybe the only crap here is you.
Man! What makes your videos awesome are not the watches, it's you! The watches are great, but the true reason we are here is to see you be you! Continue being yourself! Spontaneous and corky!
Thanks, Andres! I appreciate it!
I enjoyed that review, a good one.
I just got mine (black) a month ago. Delivery took a while but I'm totally happy with the watch. Similarly, I wouldn't be able to afford a Rolex anytime soon. But with this, it really makes me wanted to get the real thing.
On your video, I like your impromptu style. Keep it up.
Congrats, man! Cheers!
How do you get it , the website is asking for £ money .
That was nice bro, Great Humor and nice review, I just got mine today and I'm loving it, Ocean 1 42mm,
Just received this one. It is just almost exactly like my 2005 original sub. No joke, serious....unbelievable
I'm glad to hear they fixed the defective watch in a relatively timely manner considering it is international warranty claim. So they covered shipping both ways?
Hi, love the review. Have seen it many times and yesterday I ended up buying the watch from Steinhart. Are you still happy with it? How do u think of it now after owning it for some time?
Thank you!
You do you man - glad you're thinking of your subscribers first. :)
Absolutely! Cheers!
Great review. Made me laugh. Very entertaining.
I picked up the black version and have been wearing it for about 2 weeks... I really like this watch a lot I have a 7inch wrist and at first It looked just a tad small but it really is a perfect size. I love the bracelet and how it tapers from the lugs to the clasp. The finish is ok not special just as good as my SKX 007. It has been keeping very good time so far but I will keep an eye on issue you pointed out.. overall the quality you get for the price really can't be beat : decent Swiss movement, ceramic bezel, Safire Crystal and excellent bracelet...
My only negative is that the number markers on the ceramic bezel really disappear in light and are hard to pick up.. if they were painted on better the watch would be nearly perfect for price.
Thanks for the comment, Ray! I agree with you on all points! I hear that Steinhart may release a black aluminum bezel version soon. I wonder if they will just sell the insert?
How accurate for date dial to change date? it's dead on when the hour hand hits midnight, the date changes? or it will change few mins in advance or few mins later? What's your experience? Thanks
It makes me have a happy time. :)
Great review! I bought one too n mine is OVM. Steinhart seems to have some quality issues but their service is good. Glad uncle Jimmy likes this watch too.
Yeah. Their service is good. I appreciate what they do for customers even if sometimes things happen when they get overloaded. Thanks, man!
+minitwatch just wondering whether can u review Citizen Eco Drive Super Titanium watches? Thanks they are incredibly light n durable. Citizen offers great Ti+IP Titanium watches in the affordable price range. Thanks
I will take it into consideration!
Id like to see a comparison between the Ray and the Ocean One. Either size
Top review!
Thanks, Martin!
We already like the style you've developed; only improve, never change!
Thanks, Drifter!
From one island boy to another, just keep doin what you're doin, advanced congrats on the 100k ;)
Mahalos! Gosh, 100k. I can't even fathom that! :p
@minitwatch, Continue doing your reviews by talking to us, your audience, from your brain-face 100% natural no script. Funny and entertaining as hell while still being informative.
Nice vid as always :) I really enjoy your style. And, one of my next watches. Just waiting the black alu version Steinhart is going to release in the next weeks/month.
What whaaat!??! Black aluminum bezel version!? I may have had a gentleman crisis. Thanks, Michael!
minitwatch Yes. It has been confirmed by Steinhart (private mail to me and to admins of Facebook fan pages) . Just a bit of patience and she will be mine 😉
Re-watching your video again....Very close to buying a Steinhart (Ocean One GMT red blue bezel) How is your Ocean One going after all this time?
I already own a rolex gmt 2 and I just received this Ocean 1 to wear as a daily beater and this watch make me feel as good as my Rolex does, it's not as radius and finely detailed but it's still a piece of Beauty and honestly if someone else was wearing this watch and I got a glance I would swear he was wearing a Rolex
Nice job.. good camera work.. I like this watch.. not sure about the green with the black.. perhaps a dark green dial.. like the eta movements and appreciated the illustration of the "judder" of the second sweep.. well done! Wear the Cheetos!!
Frank from Boulder, Colorado
Great review, I'm not a fan of watches that look exactly like a luxury brand , but if they added lume to the bezel numbers this watch would be different enough for me. Keep up the good work
Maybe I can convince someone to make a lumed insert :p
Would you say it would fit on a 6.69 inch wrist? I really dont like the big bracelet on the 42mm version and I would love to go for the 39mm version!
do you think the bezel markings will fade overtime?
Hi!should fit good on a 15cm wrist or it's too big? Thanks
Good review. Elaboré is in french. Wich one would be more suitable for 7.5 wirst? Alu Bezel or ceramic? Thanks.
DUDE, you had the real Interstellar watch! It was telling you the secrets of space time
0_o! Wanna know the secret it told me? Everything in the future is 50/50 :p
Your smooth Yourself 😉 lol 😁 nice work !
Finally saw this review. Noyce. And I am somehow sure that you are now on your quest for your first Rolex.
Hey Raphael! My quest is actually to get a house far away. But a good side effect would be a my first Rolex :D
Looks nice watch will have to check out there site see what other colours they do
Can I ask what the diameter of the sapphire is on this watch? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
Hi Mate, I love your watch reviews, have seen few of them now. just a quick question, I got really slim wrists, 5.75'' how would Steinhart 39mm fits on my wrist ?
Laughed so hard when he said "weird as fxxk" LOL very true but in a good way. Keep up with your good work! :)
=p. Thanks, brother! I appreciate it!
What wrist size are you? I've got an 8 inch wrist... wondering if I should get this or the 42? Cheers
Do you know if they will be making a 39mm GMT?
Could you make a video wearing the watch with different straps, would be cool, I currently own one and my only issue is the tapering of the metal bracelet from 20mm to 16mm it feels too heavy at the top, thanks for the video
Oh that is definitely coming up. It will be a few videos down the line, though. Just to let you know before hand: It looks REALLY good on a tan (honey brown) leather.
So the Ray ii is about 1/2 the price of the steinhard. Just a reminder of how awesome of a watch the Rayii is. I would be more interested in a homage to a gmt watch like a explorer 2. Just me but it seems the market has lots of submarine homages already.
Wow, I didn't yet realize they were now making watches like that in normal size cases.
LoL the puppet reviews are the best!
Great video and move to keep it raw and unscripted. That’s why I subscribe to you. Keeping it real and just natural!!
Thank you, Victor! I appreciate it!
I’m not into dive watches and I don’t know much about Steinhart...
But damn, I kind of like this. Might be the green, might be your presentation... either way, it looks nice.
It's probably the green :)
I know what you mean man. I'm Cuckoo about my GMT black ceramic 39mm. All my other Hamilton ETAs are 42mm but this 39 is perferct. Pure Class.
First good job on your videos.like the unscripted approach. Now to the watch Steinhart has become one of my favorites. I own the 39mm Green and very happy with it. Very well built with few exceptions and. accurate.Steinhart should stop copying and design a more original watch. However it wears well solid and have no major complaints .My main gripe was the bracelet which I changed out.
When is the SAR035 review and belt variations being uploaded. I'm considering buying this for my husband as anniversary gift which is coming up soon. So would like to see your reviewed video on this watch.. Do hope it's your next video upload... Thank..
Soon, Mary! I'm trying for this week.
SARB035, yes?
Funny that you mentioned the accutron movement from Bullva. Mine is underway. Have you reviewed an Bulova accutron yet?
I have. Two, I think. Or perhaps three. They are under the Quartz/Digital playlists. They are amazing watches! Congratulations!
minitwatch Thanks, I'll take a look.
Thought they would have replaced the watch not repair. Would really suck to get a new broken time piece. Enjoyed the review. Hahaha.
When I sent the after sale request, I specified that I wanted it repaired and not replaced. I did this because of how well my other Steinhart (OVM1) has been running ever since it broke :p. This new Ocean 1 is settling in very nicely! My last check a few hours ago was at +2! I might make a timing video for this one if it stays good lol.
minitwatch what happened? How did the other one break?
I was considering this watch but after seeing that movement issue, I'm really second guessing it. Does anybody else have this issue with theirs? I'd rather not sit through the entire process of fixing it.
Ive watched this video several times already and just noticed the "dungeon" comment lol
Your unscripted and funny reviews are what made your channel special, please keep it this way.
And I hope that Steinhart releases a 39 mm version of Ocean Vintage Military, it would be awesome!
My goodness, yes. Maybe they will? Thanks, man!
Can u tell me ur wrist size bro ?? I really excited for this watch
If I were to ever by a Steinhart I would definitely have to get one without a cyclops. It doesn't make any sense to have it there if it doesn't do anything.
This or the Ocean Vintage Military and why? Thanks
Maybe an odd question but how secure is the lume pip on these? Puts me off slightly I might knock the pip out!
Same as all others lume piped watches. Ofc you can bash it out. Steinhart, Phoibos, Rolex and all others. :)
I hope they will release a Pepsi gmt and an OVM at the end of the year.
They will make me absolutely broke if that happens. hah!
Would this be too small for someone with 7.4" wrists? I want a smaller diver and the 38.5 sounds great but i'm worried the 46mm Lug to lug will make it look comically small. Great video! Definitely prefer the non-scripted stuff, you are much more enjoyable this way and can be yourself. Of which i see few watch reviewers do!
If you had to get rid of either this watch or your seiko skx 013?
Why would you do that to my brain? I sat here for twenty-ish minutes debating this with myself. lol. I would flip a coin, honestly. To me, they both deserve to be kept.
If I could go back, I wouldn't get the black version. Thought it'd be versatile but the bezel is glossy to the point where it's very hard to distinguish the grey markings.
Hey mate.
really good review. enjoyed the "freestyle" non-formal style it rocked.
the watch is great. considering about to have one too.
like the fact that it looks like a submariner ( unfortunately not like a Hulk! then it would be a shock!! ) image or not image this one is great! especially because of the Swiss movement and that IT"S 39 sorry (38.55mm) it's one of those only that it's green and 39mm. been looking for this size for ages.
before purchasing a hulk or submarine I think it's a perfect try to see whether its suitable for everyday life or usage.
been looking for such a review that is really about the watch and honest opinion and so.
Appreciate the review.
(one remark I'd love to mention:. is to show the crown how it works. just for the formality. )
PLUS points because of the T-rex I fuckin' love Dinosaurs!! that was fuckin' awesome shit at the end. haha!
all in all pretty cool review and would be happy to see another one!
please feel free to hit me up on Instagram and give a follow as I'd be interested in t-shirt slogan things you were mentioning afore!
my Instagram:. snnakepit
take care,
cheers,
Marshall,
Your a crazy 1, but i gotta tell ya..love your reviews!. Im gonna get this homage, no doubt!.
...Tanks you very much :) GO for it!
Holly f... 😅😅😅 traveling back in time with this one
This watch is not me. I see someone on a golf course wearing stretchy polyester when I look at it. HOWEVER! What I really like is that you are evolving and finding your voice! That is awesome. Would love to see more stepping out into artistic expression. It's where you really shine.
So you've seen me! I thought someone was staring at me :p Stalker! :p Thanks. I appreciate it :)
"Watchman puts on his stalker looking Seiko sne281 and makes an evil Dr.Horrible laugh." ua-cam.com/video/zLqP9UNqXrw/v-deo.html
Your welcome :)
lol. Oh that is a SNEaky watch, huh? ;p
This model of the Ocean One line up is the closest homage to 16610LV. Nothing beats it.
+miniwatch
Is it too small ? I think the bezel is big so make the dial is smaller ?
And what about the bracelet size ? 20-16, is it very small ?
I have an orient ray 2 blue and i think it has a good size with my 17cm hand.
I love this watch, the same color, but i haven't buy it yet because of considering somethings:
Do you think the green color make us difficult in finding clothes match with it ?
Did anyone think you are wearing a rolex sub ?
If you get people asking is that a rolex? how can we say ? that is the biggest problem stop me to buy this great homage watch.
11:35. Even on camera doesn't look overly big. Anything between 38 - 40 mm diameter is a perfect size for 6 to 7 inch wrists. Beautiful diver's watch.
Thanks for the great content you put out there! I commiserate with you my friend... my daily, the Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium featuring the same ETA 2824-2 started loosing hours per day and had to send it back. 6-8 weeks to get is back they said... I'm rocking my black Orient Ray II, with the domed AR coated sapphire glass from ChrystalTimes - a mod I did after watching one of your older videos. It's hard to justify the price for these "swiss made" watches if they break so easily!
Oh man! I'm sorry to see this! Obviously, we feel each other's pain! Hopefully, your Hamilton will be good as new and run perfectly for years once you get it back. I'm glad to have helped with your mod! Cheers!
Still got the Steinhart OVM mk1??
Yes I do and it's working perfectly :)
Can you cover Vencero watches? Nice vid
I would love to cover everything however, I have a huge list. They do offer some classically nice stuff, for sure!
Does this one feature quickset date?
Ofc it has feature quickset date.
