When I think about it, there is no meaning. There's a reason, but really? Meaning? There isn't one and there shouldn't be. Life...just exists. I suppose the question should be "what is the meaning of YOUR life?".
What is the meaning of mine? I don't really know. I guess, and quite literally, time will tell. Shit, that's deep, kinda. I suppose that right now, my meaning is to figure out a way(s) to be able to create things and explore wherever and whenever. For now, I love to create these videos!

I only got into watches almost a year now, but damn! What a year it could have been if i saw you earlier! You are fluidly hilarious and refreshingly fun. I almost always watch videos at 2x speed, i drop it down to 1.5x if they talk fast but never have i ever encountered a person where i actually wanted to watch at normal speed. I didn't even know i could experience this feeling, I'm more mind-blown than LSD/DMT experiences. You are an excellent entertainer and reviewer, a difficult combination to come by. Well done sir.

My SARB035 didn't click with me until I got it on some black leather. There's just not enough contrast with the bracelet but on a dark strap the steel and white just pops
I'm going to try it on a variety of straps soon :)
Thats exactly what happened to me. I put a black croc strap and it looks fantastic.
I was the other way. Liked the SARB035 straight away. Didn't like the SARB033, but grew to like it over time. Never wore either watch on the bracelet. Might give it a try now tho.
Everyone's different, I suppose! I suggest the SARB033 on a black, semi gloss strap. It makes it pop for sure!
This watch sometimes takes time to grow on you but as you hold it in your hands and wear it every now and then it becomes more apparent why it is so good for the price and feature set.
It's amazing how common this "grow on you" theme is regarding this watch. Quite impressive, actually. I am certain it'll click on me.
minitwatch, its funny but I posted the comment before finishing the video but in the back of my mind I was like, "Doesn't he own the Sarb033?" So now I know you will end up like this watch because it is the same thing. I bought this one over the black dial in 2015. It was just less common and more my style.

As for the feeling I had the same one firstly when I've unpacked it, as I said to myself: "What's that small watch...?!"
I own a lot of Seiko automatic divers and really love them and size definitely is bigger than this one.
But followed you're advise, even if at the beginning I didn't really have a crush on this watch, this watch is having something that was pushing me to give it a try.
Must admit I wasn't wrong at all, as after 5 days wearing it I simply love this watch, stunning, splendid one, a real beauty and even if I wasn't at all into small watches this one completely changed my opinion on them.
For example, I've tried yesterday a SARY055 and man found it way too big even if it's only a 41 mm case...!
This watch simply and definitely transformed my way of seeing small dress watches in a very good way must admit...!
Was just wondering if to buy the SARB033, but I think the black dial will make it look smaller than the white-cream one...!
I was lusting after this watch and the SARB017, but I think that the silver-dialed Hamilton Khaki has superseded my desire for both.

I was underwhelmed when ii received my sarb035, but now it is a definite keeper. I think because it is high quality but low bling its kind of a slow burn. Put out an apb for uncle Jimmy!

Part one of the SARB033's straps video has been up for a while now :)
I bought a sarb033 a couple months ago and I on first impression I was sort of underwhelmed. But after time of not looking at it, and not watching a lot of videos about it, I really love how it looks. After I "cleansed my palette" I really thought it is beautiful. Not sure what that means about this watch but just my opinion of what happened to me.
This seems to be a common thing with these SARBs. It truly is a watch that one develops a relationship with.
Really enjoying your videos. The cream dial should be on a strap, maybe dark brown alligator? The SARB33 and SARB35 are basically the same, no? Put the SARB33 on the bracelet and the 35 on the strap. I wish Seiko made that watch with a silver sunburst face. It would be like a Seiko version of a Rolex Air King. Cheers.

This, i totally agree. I bought these 2, Sarb033 for me and Sarb035 for my GF. Sarb033 is pretty decent with bracelet, very shinny, while sarb035 is not, so i buy her a white Eulit Kirstall perlon and it's awesome, she likes it very much.
GothamCitySmoker I felt the same. If you haven't seen it, check out the Orient Star Classic. I got the silver dial version with blue hands and have loved it ever since.

I have this watch. I like it. I appreciate it but you're right. It would be the first watch in my collection that I would give away to a good friend (a not so good friend would get a Casio -- a cheap Casio). In my 20 watch collection this one is my eleventh or twelfth favourite which is where I think this watch is intended to be -- right in the middle.

I don't remember that band ;p. But yes, I have lost them. Today, I've found them. I've re-traced my steps when I took them out to go film stuff. I found them both in a puddle near the harbor :\ That was a lucky find.

Can't wait for you to do a strap change vid on this watch. I'm going up to Japan soon and am contemplating if I should pick this or the Alpinist up while I'm there.

Japan side of family lives in Ikuta, a couple stops away from Shinjiku. Grandmother turning 100yo in November. I hope to check out the Seiko museum while I'm up there this time. Still haven't totally planned out everywhere I'll be going but probably will be getting the Japan rail pass again. If you want me to bring you back something let me know. I live in the 808 like you.
Couldn't agree more. I bought this watch about a year ago, was super stoked until it showed up and didn't get much wrist time. Sold it rather quickly. It's just underwhelming in person, hard to pick out what or why.
I'm going to give it a few months. Might even put one of CT's new crystals for this watch. What do you think? I know what you think :p It's going to be a yes.

I cannot decide between the SARB033 and 035. Just like I cannot decide among the SRP773, 775, 777 and SRPA22. So which SARB and turtle should I get?
DonjonArmory First world problems am i right? 😂😂😂 In all seriousness I like the sarb033 more because the DW on the 035 if white while the dial is cream'ish which looks a bit akwars so that might bother you when you have it in hand.
In all honesty, the 033 and the SRP777 is what I would do. But then again, my SRP775 with the lumed insert I put in absolutely glorious!
Get a black turtle and a cream Sarb. Good two watch collection then 👍🏽 cream Sarb in brown leather strap looks great as a casual dress watch and you also have a tool diver. (personally I’d go for the sumo over the turtle as that’s an amazing two watch collection- Sarb/sumo)

I think the Seiko Z20CALF leather strap would make the SARB035 absolutely gorgeous. I love the fact it also feed the gaps any other leather strap would leave around the guard. Any idea where to find this ? It seems to be sold out 😔
Great vid, you WILL love the 035. It’s a very subtile thing growing.
Had one loved it and took it one step up to the grand seiko. Negatives to me of the SARB i just dont like the chapter ring on them its ok but kinda cheapens the watch. Also the bracelet could be better but overall it is great. My example had no quality errors. Id buy the watch again in a second. The watch is very simple so it kind of takes a bit to adjust to the simpleness and be able to appreciate them. Size is excellent.
I am going to give it a few months like I did with the sarb033. I feel like this will grow on me as well.

For me it's just to vanilla and when I say that I not talking about vanilla bean or French vanilla. Its that vanilla you get at the gas station that tastes like cardboard with a hint of vanilla :)
Or frozen yogurt. All frozen yogurt is just...it's just okay. I loves me some french vanilla ice cream. Mm mmm! That grit, though. I might actually mod this watch with a slight sapphire dome. What do you think? Should I?
Friendly's French vanilla is one of my favorites but strawberry is my favorite. I would mod the hell out of it, maybe even find & kill that cricket and mount it on top as a trophy for yourself & a warning for any others thinking of invading your space:)

I have the SNKL41 which is probably 5 times cheaper while being comparable in terms of looks imo. Thank you so much for your videos! I got into watches only recently and your videos inspired me very much. I am currently wearing the Skx013 and ordered a SARB065 which is currently on its way from Spain 😀
How is the SKX013? Does it feel like a mini SKX? I have always been interested in it.. and was thinking of buying one.
The SKX013 is a little bit smaller, but that's okay.

Neuro It's not much different from the SKX007. Lug-to-lug they're pretty much the same size and they both fit perfectly on my 6.7 inch wrist. At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference, but I sold the 007 because I felt like the 013 is more aesthetically pleasing and is slightly more comfortable to wear. Both watches are perfect for beginners like me and I don't think I will consider any other diver watch untill I find a job after my studies and can afford the likes of e.g. a Seamaster

I’m with you on this also, this watch SARB035 along with SRB033 doesn’t do it for me; the dial is too sterile for my taste. If they had a few more dial variations like the Rolex dayjust it would interests me more.
The 033 Did grow on me especially on a strap. I am hoping the 035 does as well if not, It may get an AR coated low dome :p

Loves my 033 but I wish there was a non-lumed, non-date version like some of the Grand Seikos. Also the bracelet is as noisy as a baby’s rattle.

Perfect timing. I am looking at buying a kind of dressy sports watch. SARB017, SARB035, Hamilton Khaki of some sort, Orient Ranger. Any recommendations would be helpful. I am looking for something in this price range that is between my dress watch and my diver watch to wear with short sleeve shirts. I will put it on a strap so everyone in my family can wear it. I have a seiko and Orient watches but no Swiss.
Hamilton Khaki wont work as a dress watch (my opinion), Sarb017 is fantastic as an in-between since it really is a watch that does it all. Dress, Dive, Trails, Everyday. I like the grey dial Ranger for dress, the White dial Ranger as an everyday watch. (the indices and day app on the White dial are cool but stand out, too bulky a design for dress)
Thanks so much for the reply. I need a business casual watch which how I dress most of the time. I hear that some people have issues with the Hamilton not having a screw down crown and getting water inside. I have to be able to wash my hands and maybe jump in the shower with it. Also my 16 year old son will wear it on dates and to church and such so it has to be pretty tough. That is one thing about the Sarb017. It is the only one with a screw down crown. I love my Orient Ray II keeps great time and I just like the weight of it. I am wondering is the White Ranger would have the same feel. I just want a watch without a rotating outer bezel like my diver. Something like a Explorer but can't afford that. Got to have the date on it. I would be lost without that. I wish the SARB035 was not so shiny. I have a black faced Seiko SNGZ that I love so got that covered.
Tough Call, youre torn between the Ranger and Sarb017?...Both the Sarb & Ranger will have weight.. The Ranger might have more weight since it has a bracelet. I like the white ranger the best in looks.. but I can't see it being used for dress. Maybe you should ask yourself if you want leather strap vs bracelet? I dont think they sell the SARB017 w/ a bracelet anymore, you'd have to buy (extra cost). So if you'd get sick of leather that's +1 for the Ranger. Both should be ok for washing hands, but You'd have to buy the Orient new if you plan on getting it wet. Without a screw down crown you can't trust its water resistance unless it's new. The Alpinist (sarb017) can be bought used and with the screen down crown should be fine for water. I never heard that about the Hamilton Khaki, I am sad to hear that. I've always liked the Hamilton Khaki, but as a work watch/field watch. Never somethin I'd wear to dinner or out with friends. The Sarb (or Grey dial Ranger in my opinion) are definitely watches you can wear to dinner or do anything in.. I guess you could push the white ranger to be a dress watch too if you have your heart set on it. Its markers are really fantastic the way they stand out above that white dial. just sharp..
I must respectfully disagree with Neuro's statement that the Hamilton Khaki cannot work as a dress watch. I agree that the black dial Khaki is too complicated for a dress watch, but the one with the silver dial is much more subdued. You don't need a screw-down crown to wash your hands, even a 30m water resistance should do just fine. Please never shower with your watches; the combination of soap and heat degrades seals prematurely. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of these watches. The Khaki and the Alpinist are the most like the Explorer, so if that's what you're looking for it would just be a choice between whether you want something more traditional or something more individual. That Orient looks beautiful (as most Orients are) and it's the only watch you mention that doesn't have a hacking or hand-winding movement. Overall, since you already have a conventional field watch (eliminating the need for a Khaki) and dress watch (eliminating the need for a SARB035), the Alpinist seems to be the best choice for you.

You don't have utmost praise for the SArB035? Yoh them be fighting words amongst the Seiko aficionados haha. I'm getting my first Seiko in January and I can't decide between the SARB035 and the SRBP41 (Blue moon cocktailtime). I know there is a difference in movement and materials, but the cocktail times look so fucking good. I wish they made them in the 6R movement like the original (now discontinued SARB065), what a keeper!

I have to say, for a dress watch, that lume was VERY impressive.... I have a couple names you would recognize, that, are NOWHERE near that.... the lume is so faint on these bigger money watches, I honestly wonder if there is lume or not... In a super dark room, with a magnifying glass, I think I can see "something".... On that one, there is no doubt.
The SARG 005 didn't blow me away the first minute I had it, but it did grow on me....
The 6R15 has to be respected. Mine is running WELL within COSC specs.... So, for that reason alone, really, it belongs in your collection...
I did :/ I was freaking out. I spent hours looking for them inside my house, my car, then hours retracing my steps. I took them with me a few days a go as I went to film for another video. I always bring them with me just in case I get inspired to do something with them. Well, they fell out of my backpack (I put them inside the cupholder bit) while I was at the harbor. Today I found them in a puddle. Jimmy was a bit dirty but I gave him a bath and he's fine. Thanks goodness!
The sunburst is something you don't see in videos either apparently. :-)
It's very hard to capture as it's very light. But in person, it's a really nice touch!

Not sure how you call the dial “sunburst”. Reflective, yes, but sunburst? Gonna say nah on that. Just a beautiful slightly textured cream dial.
These are now $670 AUD on Amazon. Man...a little overpriced now for what they are but I’m still damn tempted.
so what exactly don't you like about the 35? You love the 33 which is the exact same watch with exception of dial color and the ugly strap you put on it.
I don't like those patches, or pads on the top of the case or the sub-division between the minute markers. They should have kept it more dignified and subtle like a Seiko 5 or Seiko GS.

So your concluding comments don't match the rest of the video and you never say what it is that you don't like. What is it that you were expecting that didn't work out in reality? I'm on the verge of buying this and an 033 so it would have been helpful if you'd said!! :)
somehow this watch doesn't speaks to me: I have the 033 on my wrist now and I think it's even less appealing then the 035: I'm regretting not having gone with the Sarb Alpinist and it's wonderful sunburst green, because the gloss black on the dial reflects the heck out to the uncoated sapphire and the watch is almost illegible under any light
The Alpinist is definitely a glorious piece. I see my friend wearing his all the time. I think Crystal times makes ar coated low domes for the 033/035 now. I'll have to check but I might do that. Not sure.

I don't own this watch but have the sarb033 and love it. however, the white dial just doesn't excite me. I think it would be a lot more classy and fun with a cream dial. Especially a linen cream dial.
This SARB035 does have a cream dial. Or do you mean an even creamier dial? Like bambino creamy? If so, yes! I also wish there were a silver sunburst dial version.

I would put that brown leather strap on the SARB035 and use the original metal strap with SARB033.
I'm going to try a bunch of straps on the 035 soon :)

I don't know what it is. Same thing with the 033. I just wasn't feeling it at first then I had an "Ah hah!" moment. Perhaps it'll happen with the 035.

Is it just me, or does the endlink fit on your 035 look shockingly bad? The top one especially seems to have large gaps to the case. I've compared it to my own 033 and the endlink fit on that is spot on.

The latter is correct. The 6R2* series beats at 28,800.
