The Nicest RC Car I've ever built!! - [Kyosho Turbo Scorpion] NIB Brushless build.

- So, you wanted a Kyosho Build, and here it is!
This is part 1 of 2. I build the rolling chassis. Part 2 will be fitting the brushless motor and the rest of the body.
This Kyosho Turbo Scorpion is the probably the nicest RC Car I've ever built! Nearly all Aluminium fixed together with hex bolts, and full ball bearings! Tamiya could take some tips from Kyosho! If this was a Tamiya Vs Kyosho video, Kyosho would be winning! But I'm still a Tamiya Fan Boy haha...

Beautiful bro!! Really beautiful, every second of the video, nice! Congratulations! Keep it up!!
Thanks dude, appreciate the support... as always :)
@@TomleyRC You are very welcome bro! Thanks for share!! I love your style man!! Thank you..
Ordered one last week but could only find one in Israel in stock so went for it. Also got some Corally goodies in the form of brushless motor/esc and servo. Also got some ceramic bearings from fast Eddie all of which has arrived.... Can't wait for the car to arrive. Love Kyosho models.
You'll not be disappointed, it's a really nice build!
@@TomleyRC my favourite brand of RC cars is Kyosho. Built plenty of them through the years started with a V-one-R that I used to race many years ago
I just picked up one of these and absolutely love the Kit 😎👌🏻
Yes, agreed... I have the motor ready to fit now... and Paint finally!
High quality video for a high quality RC car! Really enjoyed your video! I totally agree! This is such a stunning kit. Built mine last year and since then this beauty waits for the first ride:-) Sitting on the shelf next to my lovely HotShot. Two of my favourite rc cars of the Kyosho and Tamiya world:-)
Hoping to finish this in the next week or so
Tomley RC I‘m looking forward to your upcoming video😉
In the mid 80s I got my first Kyosho kit, a Turbo Ultima. I had already built and owned several Tamiya cars and loved them. The quality of the Kyosho parts amazed me. The materials, fit, finish, everything was perfect. I still love my Tamiya kits and still buy them, but I've always known Kyosho is the highest quality brand.
Looks super! Great build 👍🏻
Thanks dude
That quality. Just Wow. Second to none . I need one of these for sure . Awesome build 👍
Thanks Jack
@@TomleyRC my pleasure mate . Keep the good stuff coming 👍
Great build, gotta love a Turbo Scorpion. One sweet lookin buggy! 👌😎
Thanks dude
That is a work of art!! And may I say your choices of music has always been outstanding.
Thanks John. Need to get around to finishing this!
Looks awsome 👍
Nice build and RC
Editing of this video is brilliant
Thank you :)
SO MUCH METAL,
almost makes you want to paint the lexan to look like polished aluminum sheet!
(that cool mirror paint stuff)
Yes, that would look good. But not sure the blue decals would work
Like you, Phil, I don´t want to knock Tamiya...but what a lovely kit this is!
Yes, I love Tamiyas, but this thing just screams Quality
Buggys are the classic of rc
Yes, very much so
This just screams "quality". Believe it or not, I've been looking at these for a while, and your vid has made my mind up! Just need to save some pennies! Love those tools for the shock build. I hope this is gonna be a keeper, Phil! :)
Yes, she's a keeper Mark. The Motor/ESC arrived today. Just need to find some white paint!
@@TomleyRC Glad to hear that, dude! And good luck with the paint hunt - I like the idea of the pearlescent white - it looks stunning on my Civic, very sublte! :)
Wow impressive! Next on my list 👍
Really fun build, looking forward to part 2
Thanks mate
Beautiful.....
Yes, very!
Tamiya stickers are a nightmare cutting when you have big fingers ,I like this so far 👍🏻
Yes, very fiddly
Oh this takes me back! I had a Kyosho nitro buggy that I got for Xmas once (I think it was more for my dad to be honest) and I remember the quality was just superb. Everything fitted perfectly with metal bits in abundance! 👍😁
I'm really impressed!
Really amazing looking kit. 👍🏻👍🏻
Yes a work of art
Really awesome looking! If that is an indicator of what the other Kyosho kits are like, I will definitely have to get one!
I love the videos that I look at stuff I cannot afford
Love you're videos tomley. Keep up the amazing work and congrats on nearly 17,000 subs. 👍🏻
Thanks dude 😎👍
Wow its is a thing of beauty 😍 can't wait to see the second Build. Fantastic build video bro 👍😎👍
Thanks Tony, it's certainly a looker!
I can't believe what I'm looking at, I had since I was an small brat this car but it was USA made by COX licensed from Kyosho... I broke one of the front suspension arms and tried to source but it was impossible, it would be crazy if now that Im almost 50 would find the parts.
You are right it is a work of art, a real beauty!
Wow you can see where the money goes on those kits. Just quality throughout. I really must get one of these or the original Scorpion. I just don't really remember seeing these back in the day like Tamiya's which were everywhere. Anyway a great video and I might steal some of your ideas if I do another build video! Look forward to seeing it finished :-)
Yes, they weren't as common. I have an Original Scorpion, just need to give it a quite 'resto'... Steal away Pete :)
@@TomleyRC is there much difference between the original Scorpion and the Turbo Scorpion and would you recommend one over the other? Obviously when I say 'steal' I mean 'be inspired by' 😁
@@PeteWylieRC I wouldn't know without using 'The Google'.... but i think the Turbo is a little better?... I may be wrong!
I don't get annoyed when I see people using/copying similar styles to me, I see it as a complement.
@@TomleyRC well turbo is always better isn't it? I used to have an MG Metro but what I really wanted was the MG Metro Turbo! It probably would have rusted away just as quickly mind you! I think that everyone picks up little ideas from other videos. My current build series is 'inspired by' Mark Bryan's build videos. I just can't get the Brummie accent right!
Wow! All that metal! I love my Tamiya builds. But I need to pick this one up!
So pretty!
I love how the rear end looks with all the metal parts. I will have to search for the final build on your channel. Great job Tomley 👍👍
Wow, it is really nice kit. Looking forward to your complete build.
Cheers dude
Heyo, your videos have inspired me to consider getting back into the rc hobby, about a year back I tried to waterproof my wpl c14, it worked for a bit but the motor eventually was destroyed by water I think I'll go back in with the wpl b24 and stay away from water, been looking at many of your videos on both and they've been a help
Thanks Calvin, glad I helped you out. As for (Brushed) Motors... they are ok in water, as long as you make sure they are allowed to dry..so either a small amount of WD40, or just drive them around for a bit once they are out of the water.
@@TomleyRC you reckon it's worth repairing and how would I do so without a soldering iron?
Hi Phil great video as per usual love that kyosho they do really stand head and shoulders above the tamiya stuff can't wait to see the finished article ,makes me want to buy aTubo Optima mid ,would look really cool along side the pro cat
Yes, very high quality. The Cat needs company 😉👍
You're making building look sexy mon brave! lol
It looks amazing, the parts look amazing. I can imagine Pip would be impressed!
haha... I don't like making 'build' videos...the only way to make it a bit better is too 'Sex it up'...
@@TomleyRC I think it's a very clever video.
The Kyosho kits make Tamiya's look like kids toys.
Very much... but I'm still a big fan
Tomley RC me too.. but he is right tho😅
Deluded mate............
That chassis is actually worth the $$$ IMO (Not that I'd actually buy it :^( I think my buggy days are behind me, but I still have a place for them in my heart. What a thing of beauty
Too many cars these days are in the same price range and not near that level of quality and detail.
Yes, it's worth every penny
I got rid of mine in the 80s because it handled like a tank.
Great clip again Phil. Anyone know if this is available anywhere? I see some places expecting it end of July, but I've seen that before with hobby shops...
No part 2 for this? Been looking for it but not out yet?!
Kind of crazy the way they did the rear arms the lower ones
I've looked at Kyosho buggies and love the old school style of them. But I didn't realise what good quality they were. Thanks for filming your build. I'm looking forward to pt 2 very much. Oh by the way. You may have to move the Hilux out of shot in pt 2 because I found it very distracting lol.
haha...i'll censor the Hilux just for you mate
Hi tomley, I'm new to RC but am loving my time so far and have found a few bargains/gems which makes that much better, and add to that all you boys great channels. A friend of mine showed me his virtually new cen nitro, then he pulls out a force pro evolution, boxed all new but no decals. What is it worth?
Guesstimates or knowledge from anyone in the know would be much appreciated.
Keep up the great work.
Nice video yes I was first to like
Thanks dude
Np
Lovely build! Did your front wheels have a lot of toe in when you first built it? Mine looks like it has a fair bit and I'm not sure if it's meant to be like that or not. I followed the diagrams to a T and double checked everything was lined up nicely. Waiting for the electronics to arrive so I can test drive it.
Great vid as usual, I actually was checking in to see how your hg p417 order was coming along... I want to see your review of it and thoughts before purchasing. Thanks
Still not here... was shipped a few weeks ago
Tomley RC Thanks for the response!
I want one so bad
My rear tyres were not painted either. They give you tyre decals but they just fall off
Yes i noticed them... decals never really stay on to well!
ok, i have a question and i know that i can rely on you. iam planning on buying a motor/ESC combo. the thing is, the motor is rated for 66A, but the ESC is only for 45A. i know it shouldnt be run like this, but they sell it as a combo anyway (?). so, for how long should i full-throttle it? or is it safer than i think?
Well it will 'probably' be ok, but you'll not get the full potential out of the motor. I've run motors that are to powerful for the ESC before, and not had any issues, however, that's not saying it's the right thing to do
@@TomleyRC ok, thanks
Itching to get one of these but there seems to be none in stock anywhere! Guess I'll just need to bide my time 😞
Yes... I think they may have discontinued them, or hopefully there is just a shortage at the moment
@@TomleyRC hopefully the latter.
Nice kit but, Tamiya was light years ahead of Kyosho during its initial release
When u gonna do the beetle love it
I sold it a while back. I let someone else have the joy of building it
@@TomleyRC man u should get another one they look cool as hell with those wide rear tires and the body and wing look perfect idk I just love the look
Song please? :)
Where's part 2?
Hi! Great video and I can totally understand your enthusiasm about this kit. I also admire it alot. If you like have a look at my Scorpion Videos. And I mean "if you like". Lots of folks out there just want more views, but in this case you might find them to be really interesting. Just saw Mark Bryan was also here. Hi Mark! :)
And subbed of course.
I wish they would have kept it all aluminum and did a black tub
Whats the song that starts @4:45? Love that girls voice.
They just don't make em like they used to. Unless a remake.
Should be using loctite
They look like aluminum and then they were polished instead of them being Chrome and then polished
Is most likely a $500 kit
That's why you just record the whole thing and then you chop up the video and edit
Their prices ain't awesome for Tamia
The music has to go.
I've yet to find music that everyone likes 😎
Where's part 2?
