I think the biggest difference in the Kyosho and Tamiya’s is you can actually run the Kyosho right out of the box without any upgrades and nothing breaks . Cool build Glenn.

A pleasure to build these kits i have yet to get one .
I just started building car kits (Tamiya) a few months ago .
At to age of 57 i have only built helicopters scale and 3d up to now .
But car is so perfect for me as i like the building process and the painting with my airbrush best of both worlds .
and cars are a lot cheaper than helis to 😁. and thanks to your channels i found this new hobby to me .

Yeah it’s an awesome design but what’s really surprised me is just how good they run 🤩👊🏻
I raced my Ultima again today... changed the kit setup a bit, went to 25wt. shock oil instead of the kit oil, and spaced the rear arms to the back....the kit had the spacer to the rear pushing the arms forward....
I am sure that the oil was a good change , as it saw some pretty decent air time and it jumped and landed better... and no more slap wheelies as easily getting on power after landing.... it still handled bumps well, and still had plenty of forward bite, but didn't seem as prone to point the front toward the sky, so I think the changes helped.... I am not a super fast driver, but I definitely had some great fun with it...
It rides on Turbo Scorpion wheels, they fit modern 2.2 tires... and ALMOST cure my want for a Turbo Scorpion kit....

I'm with you all the way Glenn. Those Kyosho builds are exceptional. My Scorpion is a roughly half vintage half new Assault (old Kyosho gas buggy version of this chassis) converted to an electric Frankensteins monster. But it works, and the original vintage bits were goven to me over thirty years ago. I reckon you might be surprised at how well it drives. Think of how surprisingly good the Wild One is, it handles like that but a bit better again.

I agree Glenn. They are such works of art. Kyosho are the masters of the re re's. You have to get a tomahawk, they are very similar but such a beautiful car, even more so than the turbo scorpion in my eyes, love them

Awesome video Glenn. Watching you build it brought back memories of when I built my kyosho Beetle, it was the second rerelease I purchased after my RC10 rere and I absolutely love it. All that metal!! … might have to add a turbo scorpion to the collection now 😬🤑🤣🤣

I own the Javelin and Turbo Scorpion and they were an absolute joy to build. The suspension on the Scorpion is a work of art.

This buggy is absolutely fantastic. I wish I had it in my collection. The Turbo Scorpion and the Turbo Optima are my absolute favorites from the Kyosho ReRe series. Maybe someday I'll own one. Brilliant video Glenn, a pure pleasure to watch.

What a kit! It’s shows how back in the day Kyosho was by leaps and bounds ahead of Tamiya in performance I remember my 1st optima and Ultima and how much better they were to my frog and fox and falcon that’s when I went I switched to kyosho buggies! Great job thanks!

My first Kyosho build was a Turbo Scorpion then the Javelin. I too are smitten 🤩. Check out the Dhawk racing hardened steel chassis rails (much cheaper than the branded ones and exactly the same). I discovered these after finding out how twitchy the TS is on tarmac and smashed into a drain, much better driving experience off road. Have fun driving….and gazing!

Yes Glenn Kyosho are certainly something to look forward to whenever you come to building one as there quality is so superior and just the way they do go together is awesome , i built the First scorpion and i think these are pretty much the same chassis type just different body sets and decals obviously but been great to watch another nice kit being built look forward to seeing the end result then this will be another beauty for the glass cabinets , cheers :-))

I thought you'd enjoy it they are great kits to build. The Tomahawk I built is pretty much the same but without the tub, I think the scorpions looks a bit nicer but I couldn't get one at the time. Probably better as a runner because it will keep all the dirt out. Can't wait to see this finished and out running.

Had mine out today, it’s a tremendous car. Old school design but with that legendary series modern twist. The front can be a swine to setup, but once dialed in it’s a great runner

What a cracking looking kit, fantastic looking car, and top quality as always from Kyosho. I've never built a Kyosho, I've built plenty of Tamiya kits, plus an Xray, an Xpress XQ2S, and a couple of 3Racing kits, and the Xray was defo the best. It oozed quality. Although the 3Racing and Xpress kits were really superb, and pretty cheap too 😉 Awesome video as always mate, can't wait to see it finished and running👍👍

It looks like a quality car, my next purchase will either be the turbo scorpion or the tomahawk. I will have to wait 2 months though as I have just purchased a optima mid, tamiya Mercedes’ c11 and put a deposit down on a cougar. Love the videos 😊

Great video Glen. Iv gotta get building mine one of these days. Iv bought all the kyosho re-realeseas but iv only built the the original scorpion so far. They are great cars. If I remember correctly I had issues with the front camber on my original scorpion but made it better by turning that black rod that has the guage on it to adjust the camber. It dialed it in better, it won't be perfect but it will be better. Can't wait to see the finished car!

Beautiful kit and car, I know it's going to be a keeper! Another great video, keep up the great work! Love the channels, and Keith's too. You guys are an inspiration. Had some cars back in the mid 80's but nothing special. Since I started watching your channels, I've completed a rere Lunch Box and have an Optima Mid 2022 on pre-order, to keep company with my now fairly old pair of "Ebay specials", a Super Hornet and DF-03 Dark Impact bought as bashers in 2009.

I love those wheels, especially the rears. I have the rears all round on my black Manta Ray, rears all round on my Pink Metallic Neo Scorcher, black on my DT03 Neo Fighter Hornet, white on my DT03 Racing Fighter Grasshopper, and another white rear all round for a future build, possibly Avante.

Hey Glenn, i’m really glad you picked up this while looking for the Optima. This is an interesting car with so many nice shiny metal parts..there’s no need to buy metal upgrade parts from Yeah-Racing and etc. The bathtub chassis looks kinda unique too, especially with the metal base frame wrapping around it. It’s gonna be an absolute sports-style beauty after you finish up the driver and the bodyshell! 👍

If there is a beach near you that car needs to be set free maybe side by side with the Javelin serious fun . I have just come back from Brittany and run two of my cars on the beach awesome fun . Yes lots of cleaning on my return but we’ll worth it .

Lookin good mate! Love the Turbo Scorpion, actually I love em all 😂. I made the same mistake on the front suspension on my Scorpion, Akira Kogawa (yes, the Kyosho God himself) saw it on Instagram and let me know to check it again 😍😍. Hope you have more success than I did with the decals. I did them dry and cocked it up lol, ended up stretching the decals. I should have used water from the start, oh well. So now I have another body set to do it right and will use the original body for running. You'll love driving this one mate, they're so smooth! 👍

Love it. This thing is as close to factory presented buggy perfection as it comes. Only thing in my opinion that they missed the mark on is the tyres. They should be very aggressive spikes; that would complete it for me. Oh Glenn, my wallet isn't going to like you haha
Yeah I agree as much as I really like the new wheels and tyres I would of preferred the originals. But I fully understand why they changed the wheel size 😎👊🏻

You really need to get into the differential it was congealed mass of grease in the center and it wasn't even on the gears I put Marine grease in my gearbox and the gear itself the diff gear itself is got a gasket so you could even put thick oil lube for it in there you know like 50,000 weight or higher or you put Marine trees in there.
Is it a ball diff or gear diff please Glenn?

I like them Time to start a new channel kyosho legends? Their cars are way better from what I see they look like real RC cars not toys. That are made out of all plastic I mean plastics okay but you got to buy the car and then upgrade everything to make it suitable for actual use bearings Etc. They just scream quality.

Kyosho sure likes their multiple bell crank steering setups. Something like this it’s ok on, but on the monster trucks it’s a weak point

When I was young j had several Tamiya kits, mid range and thought the quality was unbeatable then I got a Kyosho zx lazer and found that as good if not better, worst quality was Schumacher, screws were made from cheese
