I am still waiting my video to upload, Box to bash in 6 months 😆. It is built now, I am just making hard work for myself with the body shell. 🤦🏼♂️ Love what you did, looks awesome.
Hiya Damian. Oh yeah it can take ages, especially if it's higher res than 1080. I'll keep an eye out for it. Cheers for watching. Hope you are ok mate 😀
@@PeteWylieRC I was joking Pete, not done a build video for it. I am going to try and do something different with the shell too. Started it but this week has been a bit hectic.
Hi there. Yeah to be honest I got put off doing the blue stickers as people had said that they were a pain. Just going all blue solved that problem and I'm really happy with how it looks. Many thanks indeed for your comments 😀
SWEET! I love of how this car is built it looks very light too I love it I bet it must be a very fast if you gave it a speed test Pete? If not it's cool this bad boy seems to be more for off road fun which of course what it's designed for👍👍👍👍😎😎😎
Hi there. Yeah the build quality of this is excellent. It's got a bit of weight to it with all the metal bits. I did do a speed test which is the video before the video before this one. It is quick but it's not ridiculous. Really happy with this one. Many thanks indeed for watching and commenting. Much appreciated 😁
Hiya Addam. The power seems perfect on this with the brushless set. I was worried that I might have overdone it but it's great. Many thanks for watching mate. Best wishes 😃
I watched Mark building his and was pleased with the general build quality of the kyosho models, tamiya don't come even close to the quality of the components tbh, they seem to make really great models and Iam honest I didn't realize this, thanks for your upload mate 👍🙏🐱
Hi there. Yeah I'm amazed that these were available in the early 80's. Not only is the engineering excellent but the handling is really great too. Oh and it's pretty tough as well. I'd say that the value for money is good too if you look at what you are getting. Anyway definitely recommend.. Many thanks indeed for watching and commenting 😁
Hiya Nick. Oh yeah this is a lovely bit of kit. The handling is so nice that it's hard to believe it came out in the early 80's. Many thanks for watching mate. I hope all is well with you 😃
Hi there. Oh yes this gets driven alright. I think that these things are made to be used although this one is very good looking and does make for a nice ornament too. There are a couple of other videos I did of this driving. Check them out if you haven't already. Many thanks for your great feedback 😁
Yeah it was a great build. I found the e clips on the shock shafts really difficult on this. I've done a load of Tamiya ones but these kept flying off, never to be seen again! You definitely need to run it or get another one to run. Many thanks for watching 😁
@@PeteWylieRC Oh wow! I had big trouble with clodbuster e-clips. For this build I think I used mini vice grips with a paper towel over shock shaft to press them on
Yeah likewise. After you left I had a drive shaft come out of the Scorpion. When I investigated I found that no less than 3 screws had come out so the whole back end was loose. I'm sure I threadlocked everything on this. Anyway lesson learned to just check everything is tightened. I was thinking after you left that we should have just swapped phone numbers and then I can just send you a text if I'm going out RC'ing. If you send me an email to petewylierc@gmail.com then we can exchange details. Cheers for watching the vid 😁
@@PeteWylieRC Hi Pete, I sent you an email over earlier with a few pics of my cars, so if you received it ok, mail me back and let me know and we can swap numbers. (Hopefully the file size of the pic did not stop the email at either end?)
@@PeteWylieRC Oh and that not ideal with the screws coming loose! I don't have a good relationship with threadlock a lot of the time either! I must be doing somthing wrong....
Lovely build Pete. These kits are so cool. They are like a mechano set with all that metal in there. The quality is fantastic. Enjoyed watching your video my friend
Hi there. Yes it did put me in mind of building with Meccano. Excellent quality throughout this kit and a pleasure to build. Many thanks for watching 😁
Hi Pete, hope you’re keeping well. Looks like a great RC indeed. And with the Absima brushless setup, it’s going to be up there on PW mad fast list! 🤣😂🤣👊🏼. It was a great 6 minutes overview of the Kyosho build. Still miss your voice though, that PW wisdom 😉😊😉 take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉
Hiya John. This is quick with the Absima set but it's not outrageous really. It's got a bit of weight to it with all the metal. Ah yeah I have various videos I need to do with a voiceover but I've got a cold at the moment and I'm rather croaky. Bit fed up with it really but it's not Covid according to the tests. Anyway all good apart from that. Hope you and yours are ok mate. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁
Hi Pete - Love the speed build format! You still get a good feeling of what is involved in the build and how the main components go together. Great stuff. It is almost exactly the same as my Scorpion, apart from the body and wing. Hope mine runs as good as yours, albeit a lot slower! Hope you don't have a hangover from last night, hope it was a good 'un. All the best, matey, have a lovely Sunday. 😁🤝👍
Hiya matey. Yeah it's hopefully quite an easy watch for a few minutes. I do intend doing the full build guide eventually (maybe!) Anyway I can't remember if I said but I've got a bit of a cold so that is bothering me more than the hangover. I did do a test to make sure it wasn't Covid before I went out. Anyway it was a good night apart from feeling a bit rough. I'm sure you'll enjoy your Scorpion when you get to take it out. Such a nice looking buggy. Anyway cheers for watching and hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. Saran is on nights so I need to find a film with car chases and things exploding 😁
Ah you need to get it built. I was just running mine again today and it's a lovely thing to drive. Also a very enjoyable build. Many thanks for watching 😁
Oh, Pete, I was struggling with what to watch this morning, but then I saw this, so I grabbed a coffee and now I've watched this twice, very nice! I'll be building a Kyosho Beetle soon, so it's just what I need to get me in the right mood. Yours looks fast, does it wheelie? Did you choose the high or the low gearing on it? I see you of course put a wicked brushless in it, ha ha! I'm 99.9 percent sure I'm settled on a Holmes 19 turn brushed, and a HW1080 for mine, low gearing, pretty sure that'll pop wheelies... Have a great rest of the weekend there!
Ah I'm glad that I provided some coffee break entertainment. With these tyres with little blocks it doesn't tend to bite into the ground enough to do wheelies. These tyres do have a nice amount of slide for going around corners. I think that the bigger blocks on the tyres you get with the Beetle with bite into the ground more. I was just looking at the Beetle and it is mostly identical to this apart from the body. Enjoy the build when you get to it. I'm sure you will. It will make your life easier to go for a brushed set as I struggled to fit that brushless set in. I had to make extra holes in the tub and change the switch and aerial position. Many thanks for watching and your great comments. Much appreciated 😁
Hiya Dom. Oh god yeah I lost a few of those bloody clips. Good job they put extra ones in. I'm ok at doing the Tamiya ones but these ones just kept flying off and I never found them. Cheers for watching and your comments mate 😁
Great video Pete. I ordered a Turbo Scorpion yesterday and can’t wait to build it. Can you share the details on the motor and ESC combo you used? Thanks
Hi there. You will love it I'm sure. It's definitely my new favourite thing. I used the Absima Thrust BL eco 3420kv brushless combo. The power is great but the ESC was too big to install in the standard way and I had to modify the tub a bit. If you freeze frame the video you will see what I did. If you can find a brushless set with a smaller ESC it would help. I think that mine would have been easier without the fan but I did manage to squeeze it in. Enjoy the kit 😁
Hi there. Yeah get one! I have experimented with the gyro thing to see how it works. In general though I prefer to switch it off so it's a bit more wild. Thinking about it I should have switched it on for the speed test but I forgot! Many thanks indeed for watching and commenting 😁

@@PeteWylieRC You're not wrong there Pete, it surely is a fantastic RC kit 👌 I get half an hour of peace and quiet from Maisie after feeding time and then she is hyperactive for the other 23+1/2 hrs of the day 👍 I'm not complaining as I think she is catching up with the time that she lost when she was ill. When the squeeky toys come out, the earplugs go in 👍
Hi Pete, great videos, one of the best I've seen. I am stuck with a choice of Arrma Vorteks, big rock, or Traxxas Maxx if I can stretch to it. What's your choice and why, pros and cons?
