@@oliverbranches I tried it but it was too small, so I undid the top sewing part. Thank god it was loose. Eventually I finished and I gave it to her :)
Absolutely amazing tutorial, I have always wanted to make a hat but always found it way too hard, thank you so much for teaching me how to make one. I'm so happy with the results ❤
Thank you sm! I made one for myself and added a pompom and its literally the best hat i made! I made on for my lil bro and he loves it! And again thank you!!!
Just finished my first one. I missed a stitch but luckily it was only on one edge so I used that as my closing edge. Thank you for the amazing video/tutorial. ❤
Girrl thanks to you like allooot i literally saw 20-30 video to learn half double crochet pattern and here just watching your video once i did it and now i am going to make a hat thank you alot xoxo 💋💋 i now feel alot of confidence
About halfway through the video, I got confident that I could do this, but watched it to the end anyway. So glad I did. Your joining of the two sides (including the difference in the brim) made a VERY nice joining. Thank you for teaching us this.
I started your knit looking crochet beanie last Friday - this is my first crochet project and I'm finding it a bit difficult tbh, I wish I had seen this video before starting the other one 😅
I did the same thing even with the instructions from the Etsy shop 😂 I told myself “let it be ugly, it’s okay!” So my first beanie is VERY wonky but I learned from it and I made a second one that looks so much better just from all the practice. Best of luck, you can do it!!
Hi I just wanted to thank you for making this video! I've never crocheted before and this was so easy to follow, and im so happy with the end product, so, thank you so much!
Until your rows reached the measurement mentioned in the video. I can’t say how many rows because your yarn and tension are probably different from mine, so the same row count won’t work for you.
I tried this with a 5 ply yarn. I kept running out of yarn lmao but i estimated that i need 3 5 ply 50g yarns to get this done hahaha should have bought an 8 ply yarn instead
I need help guys! After starting my chain with a particular measurement, the measurement reduces as i proceed. What could be the reason and how do I stop it?
Sounds like you may not be adding a turning chain to the end of your chain? So after you've crocheted however many stitches along, at the end you then need to chain 1 then turn
Change in tension can make the same number of stitches come out different, or you might have lost a stitch or two along the way. If you lost stitches, you just have to add an increase stitch.
I used a tape measurement. If you don’t have one, you could measure it by putting the chain against your head. It should go from your eyebrows to about the top area of your head where the tip of the beanie will be. If you want the brim, add 10 more chains. Hope this helps!
I want to surprise my mom with this. I have 0 experience and I found some supplies in my grandma’s house. Might try it I hope she likes it
Maybe I should find a tutorial.
Any updates? That’s so sweet of you!
Thank you for such an easy to understand pattern for beginners. I think this will be my first foray into crochet. Blessings to you.

Really enjoyed this. Thank you
So glad! ☺️
Uhmmm
Excuse me
Is it normal for it to seem a bit small even though u have 50 chains while marking the rows??
Me personally, I have a big head, id suggest doing as many chains until it's comfortable around your head
also it’s good to consider the weight of yarn you’re using. the thicker the yarn, the less stitches you’ll need.
Hi! Can I know how many yarns did you use for this? ❤ I’m planning to use the same 8 ply yarn 😅
Do you have this pattern in written form…? i like to have written instructions to print out to follow.
I have shrinking when I'm working on mine, so is it still meant to be 12 inch at the end?
Yes ,still should be around 12 inches, how long is it now?
@CherilynQ I start off at 12 inches but a few rows in I remastered at it was at 10 inches
thank u so much, it really helped me
Glad to hear that!
Hi thanks so much for the tutorial! How many rows do we do?
Until your rows reached the measurement mentioned in the video. I can’t say how many rows because your yarn and tension are probably different from mine, so the same row count won’t work for you.
Why do we add only one chain 1 and not two? For a double crochet don’t we chain 3?
How long did this take you?
2 days
Amazing 🥰
Thanks 🤗
So it has to be 1 half double crochet and 1 duble crochet?
Oh did I say double crochet somewhere? 😮 It's just half double crochet, no double crochet.
@CherilynQ yea you said double crochet in one clip I think but okay thanks 😊
@Alice_guienapig_lover Oh sorry, I must have misspoken, and you’re welcome ☺️
I tried this with a 5 ply yarn. I kept running out of yarn lmao but i estimated that i need 3 5 ply 50g yarns to get this done hahaha should have bought an 8 ply yarn instead
Which yarn did she used??
Thank you so much

How do u measure the length
I used a tape measurement. If you don’t have one, you could measure it by putting the chain against your head. It should go from your eyebrows to about the top area of your head where the tip of the beanie will be. If you want the brim, add 10 more chains. Hope this helps!
I tried chaining but I really don't get it
The sound of the yarn sewing at the end was like nails on a chalk board. So painful. Nice hat though
