I have tried several beanie patterns and the size never turned out right i made a infant one like this just by eye balling it and it turned out great! Made another one to her size in the video also turned out great! This is by far the best tutorial iv found!
I’m so happy to hear that! Be sure to watch my other tutorial here with another type of stitch: HOW TO CROCHET this Easy and Beautiful Hat | Easy/Fast crochet hat/beanie for beginners|Ribbed hat😍 ua-cam.com/video/H5HO77Kjuqc/v-deo.html
My daughter is 8 months and has a tiny head so I started with 26 chains and then did as many rows as it took to go around her head. My six year old son I did 36 chains and it’s a little to long for him but i just keep it rolled up more I haven’t counted the rows on either hat I just go until it comfortably fits around their head.
This has to be the NICEST and EASIEST crocheted beanie pattern that I’ve ever tried! I have ruined all the other crochet patterns I have tried to watch, but this one fits my head perfectly and looks amazing! ♥️ your tutorial is super easy to comprehend, and it’s slower for those (like myself) who need the pattern slowed down just the tiniest bit.♥️
I purchased this pattern and like it very much. It is so easy and makes a great hat. I learned something new about weaving in ends as I was watching the video. Thank you for being so thorough and easy to follow.
Thank you for sharing this pattern. I have made quite a few crochet hats over the years but not seen this pattern before. It is so easy and well explained. I made one for my husband in just 3 hours. Thanks 🙂
Yes I agree with Kris it is indeed the best easiest pattern.i completed one cap in a day so easy anyone can make it.i like the one chain for slip stitch and two chains for half double crochet fantastic idea and it made it straight.thank you so much I love my cap.verybgoid tutorial. I intend to crochet more in various colours to match my attire.God bless you with love and prayers. ❤❤❤
Hi, Jonna, I was up late and caught your video. Good to see ya in action. I like the thickness and knit look of this hat. 😍 great job. 👍 GOD BLESS see ya on the tube 😀 🙏.
If you’re not getting the recommended 12” than that is your gauge. You can adjust your gauge by going up in hook sizes, using thicker yarn or using yarn strands held together. The 34 chains is not meant to go around the head. It runs up and down. Thank you for watching.
Oh. My. Gosh. I’m in love!! And I can’t wait to try it. Would wool ease yarn be too much? I have found a color I adore and want to try it out with this cap!
I love this! Jonna can you tell me how many “v’s” we should have at the end of each row? I did purchase the pdf/file on Etsy but my phone is being difficult lately and wont download the pattern for me. My first name is Nona and i purchased it yesterday. Thank you for this beautiful tutorial. ❤️
Hello! Thank you so much for your order. If you message me on Etsy I can resend you the pdf or give you instructions on how to download. You should have 33 v’s or stitches after row 1 for this ladies adult size. I used lion brand charisma charisme yarn. And I actually don’t remember the color. It’s their darker pink in that yarn.
Hi dear what a fantastic teacher you are Slow & steady would you pls help with adult hat .i have crochet hook no 4.5mm & the circumference of my head is 52 cm so how many stitches do I start with ..Pls asap as I want to really follow you .Thanking you .🙏🙏
Hi, I’m very happy to hear you enjoy my tutorial. I do not know what kind of yarn you are using. So with that hook you want to make a chain as long as the first row is supposed to be (about 12”) then keep working the rows until the hat is about 48cm wide. (To accommodate for stretch) Hopefully this helps! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hi tried this but just not happening first 3 & 4 th line the shape is ok & then something going wrong As I continued the neck side shape also not coming round & stiches are reducing I started with 64 stiches which measure to 12” ... .I don’t know where I am going wrong .pls help . 💕🙏
Same chain, more rows. Just crochet until you reach 22-23” on the bottom edge. Your hat should be one inch smaller than the head it is meant for. Thank you for watching!
Tension. Just pull it straight, count your stitches (you might be adding stitches, if so back it out and use a stitch marker in the first stitch of each row. (2) makers) Then just keep going!
Forgot to add that your teaching is absolutely perfect!! I’ve crocheted for a lot of years but outside of being taught a couple of stitches, and the fact that I stick to straight lines-I’ve never known names for the stitches, never understood counting and that you can measure-I am smack in the middle of an enormous king-sized blanket and the ends absolutely don’t line up. It’s a good thing I’m only making this mammoth blanket for myself, as I don’t care that’s it is perfectly square or wonky, but i am thrilled to think I could make something besides a flat scarf and a blanket. THANK YOU!!!
This turned out absolutely PERFECT! I used double strands of worsted weight yarn and the only issue I had was finding where my stitches changed up. I started using stitch markers which may seem a little redundant but it solved the issue and it was well worth it. I LOVE the way it closes at the top. No awkward wrinkles! Thank you so much for this pattern!
3:41 where you’re talking about the gauge, you say if it isn’t 12”, increase or decrease hook sizes. But is it possible to just adjust the amount of stitches? If I’m using a smaller hook, smaller yarn, just make enough stitches until it’s 12”?
I have tried a few chunky beanie patterns over the last week and ended pulling them all back. This was so easy and the end result looks great and I’m a novice. Thank you so much for sharing. I will be doing more of these. 😊
Thank you so much for this tutorial. You have made it the best and simplist pattern to follow. I've made several hats now using your pattern and everyone loves them 😊
Hi, I can’t wait to try this pattern. I love your tutorial. Easy for to follow especially when I have issues to follow. This I feel will be easy. Thank you:) ❤

The last stitch is rounded and likes to hide. You a use a stitch marker in the first stitch or each row. Or count your stitches after each row. The stitches look like v’s along the top of the row.
Gosh, I only ever make afghans, but I think even I can make this pretty beanie. Thank you so much for the great instruction. I'll be heading to etsy on just a sec fur your pattern. 🤗
I don't know what I am doing wrong but I have had to unravel over 7 rows, 3 times because it keeps getting shorter. Is it supposed to have 34 chains on each row? I don't' know how I keep messing it up ugh!
I'm trying to crochet this hat left-handed, would I hdc the front loop only instead of the back loop only because I am going in the opposite direction?

You can’t measure just the chain. It’s not an accurate number. How you make your stitches will stretch the chain. This is called gauge. To make a hat having 22"-23"" circumference how many chains i should take. I want to gift this . Pls guide me Mam
Same chain, more rows. Just crochet until you reach 22-23” on the bottom edge.
Your hat should be one inch smaller than the head it is meant for. Thank you for watching!
How much yarn did you use?
What is the length of 34 chains?
The length is measured after row 1.
Do the patterns in your store come in Spanish?
Unfortunately not at this time.
How long do you make it for a men's hat? You said 12" for women.

I don't know what I am doing wrong but I have had to unravel over 7 rows, 3 times because it keeps getting shorter. Is it supposed to have 34 chains on each row? I don't' know how I keep messing it up ugh!
Yes, 34 stitches in each row. 27 half double crochets, 3 crochets and 3 slip stitches.
Adult people size please how many chain.?
Can I change colours to make checkered pattern?
I'm trying to crochet this hat left-handed, would I hdc the front loop only instead of the back loop only because I am going in the opposite direction?
Nope, just crochet. It’s the same on both sides.
What size will this hat fit and where can I find the different sizes for this pattern?
Umm . . . Isn't Super Bulky yarn a size 6, and Bulky yarn a size 5?
Size 5

Where can I purchase the label you are using
I bought this one on Etsy. It was randomly in a tag mystery bag. I loved it!
You could just get them custom made though.
If you change the hook size after the first row when you're gauge the length does that mean you could continue with the project or should you start over?
I always find it’s worth starting over. It’s only one row. But you can absolutely try it and see what happens. Thanks for watching.
I think it's worth starting over too, but when you start over is that when you change the hook size?
@susannamaharaj6407 yes. If the row one is too long you use a smaller hook. If it is too short you use a bigger hook.
Thank you for the tutorial 😊 I've made a toddler size beanie in one day
Thanks for making a hat so easy to crochet ❤❤

How much wool is needed to crochet one? I’m trying to order online but I’m still new to crochet and don’t get how much is needed yet !!
Two balls of charisma (5) yarn or 218yards should be plenty for one adult hat. Thank you for watching and commenting!
I wish you had given the measurement at the beginning- while chaining the first line.
You can’t measure just the chain. It’s not an accurate number. How you make your stitches will stretch the chain.
This is called gauge. Many people don’t want to make a gauge pattern because they don’t want to take the time to do it, then their hats come out the wrong size.
This way you can’t skip it and the hat comes out right every time.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
I don’t care for anything tight on my head. What can I add to make it slightly larger than average?
Just add more rows. You can measure your head or even wrap it around your head and when it feels good. Close it up. Thanks for watching!
