      My daughter is 8 months and has a tiny head so I started with 26 chains and then did as many rows as it took to go around her head. My six year old son I did 36 chains and it’s a little to long for him but i just keep it rolled up more I haven’t counted the rows on either hat I just go until it comfortably fits around their head.

    This has to be the NICEST and EASIEST crocheted beanie pattern that I’ve ever tried! I have ruined all the other crochet patterns I have tried to watch, but this one fits my head perfectly and looks amazing! ♥️ your tutorial is super easy to comprehend, and it’s slower for those (like myself) who need the pattern slowed down just the tiniest bit.♥️

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  10 місяців тому +1

      If you’re not getting the recommended 12” than that is your gauge. You can adjust your gauge by going up in hook sizes, using thicker yarn or using yarn strands held together.
      The 34 chains is not meant to go around the head. It runs up and down.
      Thank you for watching.

      You should have 33 v’s or stitches after row 1 for this ladies adult size.

      Hi, I’m very happy to hear you enjoy my tutorial.
      I do not know what kind of yarn you are using.
      So with that hook you want to make a chain as long as the first row is supposed to be (about 12”) then keep working the rows until the hat is about 48cm wide. (To accommodate for stretch)
      Hopefully this helps! Thank you for watching and commenting!

      Then just keep going!

    Forgot to add that your teaching is absolutely perfect!! I’ve crocheted for a lot of years but outside of being taught a couple of stitches, and the fact that I stick to straight lines-I’ve never known names for the stitches, never understood counting and that you can measure-I am smack in the middle of an enormous king-sized blanket and the ends absolutely don’t line up. It’s a good thing I’m only making this mammoth blanket for myself, as I don’t care that’s it is perfectly square or wonky, but i am thrilled to think I could make something besides a flat scarf and a blanket. THANK YOU!!!

  • @jessicacrager2325
    @jessicacrager2325 7 місяців тому +5

    This turned out absolutely PERFECT! I used double strands of worsted weight yarn and the only issue I had was finding where my stitches changed up. I started using stitch markers which may seem a little redundant but it solved the issue and it was well worth it. I LOVE the way it closes at the top. No awkward wrinkles! Thank you so much for this pattern!

      I bought this one on Etsy. It was randomly in a tag mystery bag. I loved it!
      You could just get them custom made though.

    If you change the hook size after the first row when you're gauge the length does that mean you could continue with the project or should you start over?

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  8 місяців тому

      I always find it’s worth starting over. It’s only one row. But you can absolutely try it and see what happens. Thanks for watching.

      I think it's worth starting over too, but when you start over is that when you change the hook size?

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  8 місяців тому

      @susannamaharaj6407 yes. If the row one is too long you use a smaller hook. If it is too short you use a bigger hook.

    Thank you for sharing this wonderful pattern. I am working with an identical yarn as yours, but I can not find the exact yarn and colour. You would make me so happy if you share with me this important information. 🙏

    Hi, thank you for the class! I tried to find this color of yarn on you Amazon page but I didn’t. Can you please share what’s the brand and color name you used? Thanks!

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  Рік тому +1

      Hi! Definitely! This is Charisma yarn by loops and threads I believe this is the color blush. I will double check in the morning.
      You can get lots of the colors at Michaels. Unfortunately amazon is limited in colors and so is the tagging on UA-cam.

    Great tutorial! I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but it gets longer every row, it went from 12 to 16 inches

      You’re increasing (2 or more stitches into one stitch) someplace or multiple places.
      Be sure to go slow and watch how many stitches you are placing into each stitch.

      I used lion brand Charisma charisme yarn.
      I can’t remember what color this is, I need to take in a sample to the store and find it. It’s like a blush pink.

      Two balls of charisma (5) yarn or 218yards should be plenty for one adult hat. Thank you for watching and commenting!

    I wish you had given the measurement at the beginning- while chaining the first line.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 місяців тому

      You can’t measure just the chain. It’s not an accurate number. How you make your stitches will stretch the chain.
      This is called gauge. Many people don’t want to make a gauge pattern because they don’t want to take the time to do it, then their hats come out the wrong size.
      This way you can’t skip it and the hat comes out right every time.

    I don’t care for anything tight on my head. What can I add to make it slightly larger than average?

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 місяців тому

      Just add more rows. You can measure your head or even wrap it around your head and when it feels good. Close it up. Thanks for watching!
