What I love is that the "twist" was actually front and center with each of them wearing the tell-tale colors of the 4 horsemen, War in red, Pestilence in black, Famine in yellow, and Death in white.
In the bible, Death is on a pale horse & Famine rides a black horse. Some eschatological scholars believe the Antichrist rides the white horse as Conquest, since he's the only living creature depicted wearing a crown on a white horse in the bible, other than Christ.
Ok so death was the first one, a big wave killing everyone. Pestilence of course was next, not debatable. But then the plane crashes, they aren't famine or war... so death again. That means war and famine never make an appearance. How does that equal the 4 horse men. I'm asking just so i can understand, not arguing.
Agreed. Bautista is by far the most talented wrestler turned actor. His range and acting ability is off the charts. He stated when promoting this movie that he wanted to challenge himself with roles that would be more than just the typical big tough badass. And he’s really knocking these roles out of the park for sure!
It makes sense that redman was the most skeptical and angry because he was first on the chopping block and there was 0% chance they were going to convince anybody before the first plague.
He's been grinding his ass off and being patient so they could (probably) take his role as an actor more seriously, unlike people like the Rock who play basically the same role over and over! I'm proud
This movie for me hit on all points. Great acting, tension, story telling, drama. I love how some people were upset there was no classic M. Night twist when the twist was actually that they were telling the truth about the end of the world.
37:19 - @NikkiStevenReact, He said that he would like to do the final part outside, as there would be none of the Horsemen left to demonstrate the consequences of their actions (also at some point there would be no news broadcasts), so they would need to be outside to have the best view for evaluating the impact of their final choices.
The speech at the end of “why should we sacrifice ourselves for people who hate us” really broke my heart when I watched this movie. Honestly I 100% get it. If you’re told you don’t deserve love and a family and then you find it and are told to abandon that for the ppl that hate you for it then why would you want to?
@Don juan Delanuche just because something is the right thing to do doesn’t mean it’s the easy thing to do. Yes. This entire movie is about sacrificial love being the purest form there is, but if I was told I had to kill the person I loved by ppl I didn’t know or trust at all of course I wouldn’t immediately do it.
@Don juan Delanuche Yeah see you had me until you said his sacrifice got him into heaven despite him being gay. He didn't choose to be gay dude that's how God made him.
@Don juan Delanuche No one chooses to have the world hate them dude. Gay people in places like Africa and Russia are literally being murdered. It's not a choice it's how your born.
All the ppl who feel entitled to treat ppl that way will expect the ultimate sacrifice to be made on their behalf b/c "it's the right thing to do," but aren't willing to make smaller sacrifices for the right thing when the choice is theirs.
Shyamalan is a phenomenal visual storyteller and director. His filmmaking is up there with Speilberg, Nolan, Villeneuve... the elites. He always gets interesting performances out of his actors too, even The Happening, which has bizzaro old-fashioned stage actor performances, is kind of fun to watch. I think his biggest weakness is that he's not an elite writer. He can come up with amazing concepts, but I think he has trouble connecting those concepts with his themes, which almost always revolve around familial connections. He's a sentimental dude and I think it can zap the tension out of his stories a lot of the time.
In the book, the little girl gets accidentally killed, and they say fuck the world when they're told that her sacrifice doesn't count because it wasn't by choice, so they stay with her body as they wait for their time. I morbidly wanted to see that than always seeing the same trope happen where one sacrifices themselves for the world, and the other has to watch them die. It would've been messed up to see, but different. Loved your reaction like always!!!
"if something happens to this kid..." well its a good thing you saw the movie instead of reading the book the movie is adapted from then lol, in the book shes the one that dies and the world still ends (her death wasnt voluntary/agreed upon, which is the requirement for the sacrifice to stop the world from ending)
I'm so glad you guys loved this movie!!! I was so upset when it got bad reviews because i LOVED it. I thought it was shot BEAUTIFULLY and the tension was amazing. I kept switching my opinion back and forth throughout the whole movie, it was such a wild ride!!!
Bautista absolutely killed this role and knocked it out the park! What a massive range he has. This story line was amazing and if you watch it again, you'll see there's so much tell tale signs as well (the way they were dressed and the colours and you actually see the figure in the mirror for a split second when the light hits it).

My opinion has always been that while our four “killers” are the four horsemen of the apocalypse, Eric and Andrew stand for forgiveness and anger/resentment. Andrew has a forgiving heart. He’s willing to move forward and move on. Eric however, holds onto his anger. He can’t move past it. He trusts no one and believes that people are without goodness. I think in the end, Andrew is able to give Eric the comfort of knowing that while they must sacrifice their own love for the world, it will result in others to experience the love and growth needed to live happily and move forward. Edit: sorry I got Eric and andrews names backwards. Eric is love and forgiveness while Andrew is anger and resentment.

I mean, he’s the top billed actor in an M. Night movie. The movie knocked “avatar 2” from the number one spot at the box office. I’d say this is a “major major” role.
The original book has the couple decide that any god who'd ask people to do this to prove they deserve to keep living can fuck himself, and let the world end. The fans are understandably harshly divided over the film completely changing that.
I like both even if they do differ by the ending. We can't forget that the different outcome from the wrestle with the gun is what made them finally decide to say fuck it.

Movie Recommendation: THE RENTAL. When Nikki mentioned Air BNB I recalled that movie. It was really good and I hadn't even heard of it when I watched it so it was a pleasant surprise! Eerie and creepy like this.
Wish people would react to Signs & Unbreakable (whole Unbreakable trilogy is great, last one being the weakest)… so so good… love The Village too (arguably one of the most beautiful soundtracks IMHO)
Crazy thing to think about, but if I have to choose between living with my family through hell or sacrificing myself for the entire world I'm taking the L. After just seeing the waves I would have been gone, that was enough.
same its sad to think that in a situation like this most people in the world is that selfish to watch the world burn full of other innocent lives just to live in an empty earth all to not survive for much longer
@@r.e.e.2.e yeah I can't understand the logic of it. Like what's the point of surviving only to watch the world perish before you and your family family also go, in anguish, with your child, knowing you could have stopped it all. I can't even fathom the amount of hubris it takes to say "fxxk the whole world".. like damn kids too?!? 🤦🏾♂️😅 That's madness.
I like watching movies with you guys. You watch movies I've been curious about and watch for the first time with you, or I have already watched, just want to see your reactions to it. Please keep up the good work.
Agree about Dave, I liked the Rock early on with movies like Walking Tall, Gridiron Gang and The Rundown. Not like he was Daniel Day Lewis but seemed like he was trying more before he became an actual super star.
if i was in this situation. I would sacrifice myself, rest of the world shouldn’t suffer because im being selfish and wanna scour the empty earth with my loved one. Especially seeing all those children die from the virus
It is a noble choice and morally correct thing to do. But in that situation, most would start thinking in overdrive. The Dads didn't know how absolute the apocalypse things was. Tsunami due to earthquake is a very common phenomena if epicenter is in ocean. And seeing as we have lived through COVID 19 ourselves, we know virus pandemic has no rhyme or reason to it. But 4 psychos barging in home and preaching apocalypse mumbo- jumbo is a very convincing story. Which means that there is a very real chance that apocalypse wouldn't occur, and dad would kill themselves for no reason other than them being gullible enough to buy into a story of 4 psychos. At least that is how my mind would work in the situation. Anything to prevent demise of me and my loved ones. But those aeroplanes falling off the sky would be pretty convincing I won't lie. That would make me believe in them too.
I went into this movie without knowing a single thing about it. Never even heard of it. Just saw it on Peacock and decided to watch it. It was sooooo much better going into it not knowing anything about it. Everyone that I told to watch it, they had seen the trailers for it or heard about it and when they finally watched it, didn’t think think it was that good. I thought it was a great movie, original concept and well shot. I agree with you Steve every time you say that about not knowing anything about a movie or show makes it way more enjoyable.
Great film with top-notch direction and acting. It lacks a more solid and stable script, but it is still a remarkable movie. A recommendation from me: 'Eden Lake' (2008) with Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender is a must see survival horror film: disturbing, great acting and yes, there are cabins in the woods.
The original novel by Paul Tremblay took a much darker turn near the end. I'm disappointed the movie chickened out, even though it was still fairly good.
im all for horror films, ive loved friday 13ths, freddys, halloween, the thing, evil dead and so many more, but i do find home invasions types hard to watch. maybe cus i know someones grandpa who had gone though it and not survived, so it tainted me with these stories maybe. but it does look a good film and them angles at the start was well made to intense the 1 on 1 connection dave had with her, so creepy. I will go watch the film as i do enjoy dave in other things he has done. but i might need to look away at some things like in saw films. theres good horror and there scaring why did i see that lol
The creepiest thing to me would be if someone stood in front of a TV with a live newscast and started saying exactly what they're going to say a second before they do...

Batista has become an Amazing Actor, he has truly grown. John Cena has grown in his comedy range
Love the flash of Billy Butcher
An interesting movie from M. Night Shamalamadingdong. Interesting pronunciation Nikki!😆
You guys should definitely watch Banshee! It’s the sickest show to ever be aired 🔥 full of action and drama! You will be hooked
They shot the end diner scene in my town in tabernacle New Jersey it was pretty cool! The actual place is called evergreen lol
Nikki is just so sweet, it never fails
I just love you guys reaction…
.... "be the one who prevented the end of the world"- He already has! Thank you for the great reaction!
18:05 “this is f weird” i felt that but right after you said in a cool way THAT’S NOT COOL LMAO🤣
I like watching movies with you guys. You watch movies I've been curious about and watch for the first time with you, or I have already watched, just want to see your reactions to it. Please keep up the good work.
Heya guys been watching you for a long time now wanna say I love watching your reactions to tv series and movies you both are funny and great
Agree about Dave, I liked the Rock early on with movies like Walking Tall, Gridiron Gang and The Rundown.
Bushwick is another great dramatic/thriller he’s in. Brittany Snow is in it, too.
Such a beautiful movie❤️ Now, I HAVE TO watch Nikki watch Evil Dead Rise. It will be the best one yet.
Oh man Nikki is going to HATE it on an epic level lol
I went into this movie without knowing a single thing about it. Never even heard of it. Just saw it on Peacock and decided to watch it. It was sooooo much better going into it not knowing anything about it. Everyone that I told to watch it, they had seen the trailers for it or heard about it and when they finally watched it, didn’t think think it was that good. I thought it was a great movie, original concept and well shot. I agree with you Steve every time you say that about not knowing anything about a movie or show makes it way more enjoyable.
Hii😊
Great film with top-notch direction and acting. It lacks a more solid and stable script, but it is still a remarkable movie.
A recommendation from me:
'Eden Lake' (2008) with Kelly Reilly and Michael Fassbender is a must see survival horror film: disturbing, great acting and yes, there are cabins in the woods.
Saw this in theaters. Thought it was pretty interesting.
The original novel by Paul Tremblay took a much darker turn near the end. I'm disappointed the movie chickened out, even though it was still fairly good.
Prophesy, doubt, catastrophe, acceptance, redemption.
Or, just a different kind of love story.
Might it become more common?
?????
im all for horror films, ive loved friday 13ths, freddys, halloween, the thing, evil dead and so many more, but i do find home invasions types hard to watch. maybe cus i know someones grandpa who had gone though it and not survived, so it tainted me with these stories maybe. but it does look a good film and them angles at the start was well made to intense the 1 on 1 connection dave had with her, so creepy. I will go watch the film as i do enjoy dave in other things he has done. but i might need to look away at some things like in saw films. theres good horror and there scaring why did i see that lol
💪👋,and the slaps are back!😂
Absolutely loved this movie as well. Btw are u guys gonna react to the dead city trailer soon?
The creepiest thing to me would be if someone stood in front of a TV with a live newscast and started saying exactly what they're going to say a second before they do...
You should read the book this movie is based on! Very different ending & a fairly short read!
