Yes, but that's still only a tiny amount compared to the other action films that take themselves too seriously. Also whilst I'm not one of them there are people that don't like Ryan Reynolds who want cheesy action movies.
The reason that Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock were in this movie was because they were filming Lost City at the same time and they traded their cameos for Brad to cameo in that movie because they are friends.
Funny story. Husband and I watched Lost City and Bullet train back to back one night and it was so much funnier to see the cameos in back to back films, especially not knowing about them beforehand 😂
Fun fact: The Tangerine Truck Lemon uses to run down Prince is seen earlier in the film. Remember the truck that almost hits Ladybug when he's on the phone with his handler? That's the same truck.
Aaron Taylor Johnson has come a long way since kickass. His performance in this and Nocturnal Animals are nothing short of epic. “You made Lemon bleed. And Lemon never bleeds.” Tangerine is the best.
Fun little Easter egg that I didn’t know until I watched the second time - White Deaths son is played by the guy who played Percy Jackson, and Lemon gave him the tank engine name of Percy. The little subtleties of this movie are awesome.

I was planning to go see it in one of those 4DX theaters and I simply forgot. When I saw it on Netflix later I was SO mad I didn't see it in the theater!🤣
In the book this is based on Tangerine and Lemon aren't related, but look very similar, which is why people usually assume they are twins. It annoys them to no end. Here they are very different, but have a very close relationship - and, unlikely as it is, might actually be twins; it's rare but it does happen that mixed-races twins have different dominant races.
David Leitch is probably one of my favourite directors. From Deadpool, Hobbs & Shaw, John Wick to Violent Night and Nobody. He is truly great. As a producer, director, and writer he did all. And he does it well.
I've been on a bullet train in Japan, as we decided to use it to go to Disneyland, and it is farking fast! What surprised me the most was that it is super stable while you're inside, like being able to walk around and it's very quiet. Getting around in Japan takes a lot of patience as a majority of the locals don't speak English, but we didn't have any trouble getting to our destination. As a seasoned traveller(been to more than 200+ cities throughout Europe and Asia), best tip I can give is to ask the concierge or front desk staff(usually there's at least one person there who can speak English) to write in Japanese your destination on a piece of paper, and grab the hotel's business card to show to the taxi driver or anyone else if you get lost and can't find your way back to your hotel. On another trip, we got lost(disorientated) walking around the area near our hotel and couldn't find our way back, so politely(with a slight bow) asked this Japanese man with plenty of hand gestures. He looked kind of confused at first but didn't take long to figure out our situation once we showed him our hotel business card. Now HE started using hand gestures to motion that he'd help us. What he actually did was walk us ALL(about a 5min walk) the way back to our hotel. When we arrived at the front of the hotel I said "ARIGATO"(thank you in Japanese), he smiled, said something in Japanese, bowed slightly and waved us goodbye. So there, don't be afraid to ask for help, even if you don't speak their language!🙂 Definitely worth the bucket list experience to ride in a bullet train if you're ever in Japan. Oh, and you won't find more respectable people anywhere else in the world. The Japanese take that to another level. PS. Just realized I wrote an essay about Japan and totally forgot about this movie!🤣 Yeah, this is a fantastic movie from start to finish. It has all the elements to become a classic!
Sanada Hiroyuki is the actor playing The Elder. My favourite part about his fight scene is that it's set to the song "Holding Out For A Hero" - the hero is Hiro!
I feel like a thing that most people miss when watching this film is that Tangerine gave Lemon his vest. Because when Tangerines shirt is buttoned down we can see he's not wearing one.

I fully understand why Sony decided to back Aaron Taylor Johnson for Kraven based on his performance here. He's so fun to watch. Lemon and Tangerine made this already fun movie great for me.
59:20 - Hearing you refer to the "swerves on the deaths" has made me realise - for the first time after many, many viewings of this film - that every character who dies (until the White Death is defeated) is killed by their own weapon. The Wolf accidentally stabs himself. The Hornet is stabbed by her own syringe. Tangerine is shot with his own gun during the tussle. And White Death is killed - if not by his own weapon exactly - by his own hand. Unless I'm mistaken, the only character to die during the events of the film and not to be killed by their own weapon is the Prince, but this occurs after the White Death is dead and his legacy of execution by someone's own weapon is no more. Incidentally, it puts new emphasis on the moment where the White Death attempts to kill the Elder by pulling him on to his own sword. (Also I've just now realised that there are a shit-ton of deaths of nameless gang members, but I suppose this concept only plays out for named characters)
Ladybug's superpower is "Miss Fortune's Chewtoy" - and the lady doesn't like to share. He has bad luck until someone attacks him, then the bad luck happens to them instead until the scene is over.
This might be a classic in a few years. It reminds me of some complicated older movies and series, but also "Snatch" or surreal movies. Sometimes, not everything has to be known. More like this would be great!
Omg this was so amazing honestly this reaction was great im so glad yall enjoyed it, its such a simple film but executed sooooo well! Holy shit and the acting and casting yeah.. just keeps surprising you haha! Thank you this was super fun to watch with yall. =] Just love this, its definitely a great rewatchable experience, and its based off of books apparently so hopefully we get more! Also nikki just laughing at everything was just amazing because there is so many small quick moments you could miss lol but damn it made me bust up laughing as well! Tangerine i last saw in Kick Ass. He has come a longggg way cause damn!
@Nikki & Steven React Yes, Tangerine (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) was Pietro aka Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron. He was also Kick-Ass. He's now about to be Kraven the Hunter in the MCU with his own film.
He was also the lead in the 2014 Godzilla. He played the husband of Elizabeth Olsen's character, & spent the whole film trying to get back to her & their son.
Lady Bug had the best luck because he wasn't actually dishonest or deceitful. He was actually really trying to be a good person in a bad job. That's why he ended up surviving by accident.
the Tangerine truck that ran down the daughter at the end was the truck that almost ran down Brad at the beginning as he was stepping into the street. The truck was doing deliveries in the starting town and beat the train to the last town where it did hit the girl after Lemon hijacked it.
The Wolf is played by Bad Bunny. Might be why he looked familiar. Also, the Hornet is played by Zazie Beetz who played Domino in Deadpool. I knew this movie was going to be great off the trailer but it exceeded my expectations. It was a blast! 🚅 🤓 🍊 🧡 🍋 💛 🐍 🚂 ❤️
I think the point is that Ladybug has a lot of good luck *and* a lot of bad luck, both at the same time. When things are going normally and smoothly, something bad is bound to happen to him. But when it's a do-or-die high-stakes situation, it goes his way.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps I don't know what that means, just that he's a lucky weirdness magnet. Was it lucky or unlucky that he *almost* got hit by a truck at the beginning? I'd say both were at play.
That was one of the most entertaining movies I have seen in years. Fun fact . . . Brian Tyree Henry, who plays Lemon, was in "Eternals" with Angelina Jolie. He is currently an Oscar nominee for Best Supporting Actor. And I first saw Joey King, the girl who plays the White Death's daughter, in the CBS series, "Jericho". It was a brief role. But I definitely remember her from "Battle: Los Angeles", which you guys should consider. I've been a fan of Hiroyuki Sanada since 2003's "The White Countess" and "Lost". As for Andrew Koji, who plays his son "The Dad", you should check him out as the lead in the streaming series, "Warrior". I had no idea that Logan Lerman of the earlier "Percy Jackson" movies, was the White Death's son. By the way, he and Brad Pitt had co-starred in the 2014 movie, "Fury".
Brad Pitt aka Lady Bug was actually lucky for some characters in that bullet train. If Tangerine hadn't gotten back on that train he would've been alive, with lemon. and if that big bad wolf just talked to him instead of taking action first eh would've been alive, and if the Hornet just accepted the briefcase without any fight she would've been alive, too, that and if the White Death just accepted he wasn't carver he would still have his head lol
Also, I wonder if they had Aaron-Taylor Johnson run after the train and jump on it because he was Pietro in the MCU, as a kind of Easter Egg? Considering that they put a Percy sticker on Logan Lerman, who previously played a character named Percy Jackson, I wouldn't put it past them. So Steven's comment about him being "Spider-man" was even more hilarious!
The first thing I realized was that the train conductor is the actor of Heroes, the television series, one of my favorite series from the early 2000s. He appears in many small roles in different movies and TV shows.
I love, love, love this reaction that I watched it again!!! CLEANING cupboards and listening to you laugh was so fabulous for my task. Love you both. Cheers from Nova Scotia. 💖
Tangerine/Blue Suit Guy is also the same guy the plays Kick-Ass. Also, Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock, and Brad Pitt did another movie together called "The Lost City," and Tatum's cameo in Free Guy was also pretty silly! This movie was a riot at the theater! Everyone was laughing so hard; I was surprised that the movie didn't last that long in its release! Steven, you said it just right about Ladybug's luck... it was almost like he was Domino from Deadpool 2! (With Ryan Reynolds, of course! Zazie Beetz played her and in this movie she played the Hornet) As an example, if he hadn't have fought with the Hornet, then he would not have had the antivenom in his body when the snake bit him... several times! Great reactions! Glad both of you are doing well! Hope you have a great holiday!!
Best movies of the year, Maverick, Bullet Train, and Confess Fletch. Bullet Train was a surprise for me as well, I wasn't expecting much and was blown away. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Steven i swear is my spirit animal lol and Nikkis laugh and joy is damn contagious 😂😂 I usually (not always) am on same page as you two on what i like to watch, but even when i dont, yall are a joy to watch with 🤠 . Keep it up 🥰
The first time I saw this movie I loved it, and every time I see an old Japanese man with a cane in an action movie that takes place in or around Japan I will always immediately assume that cane is a disguised katana.
Two fun facts, the dead son, was actually Percy from the Percy Jackson films, hence getting the Percy Sticker as a gag. The guy who plays Kimura is a bonafied swordmaster and all round bad ass of all time, was 60 years old and he still did all his own fights as Scorpion in the Mortal Kombat remake.
Subscribed for this reaction alone! Awesome movie, glad you enjoyed it as much as me and my elderly mother did when I took her to the theater to see it for her birthday.
I love you guys!! Your commentary and spirit is always so uplifting and always fun to watch! I’m glad you guys made a video about this movie because I was conflicted about watching it since Brad Pitt’s abuse alligation came out against his children. Sorry for being a little bit of a downer. But you guys are so amazing, and we always can see how much love you pour into every video and I will always support you guys and you’ve helped me smile too many times to count so thank you.
I don't understand how this movie got so little attention. Everyone I see react to this had no idea what was coming, and ended up loving it. Back when I first saw it I was the same way. Great script, great cast, great dialogue, great direction, great action... it's just so good.
Love Hiroyuki Sanada in every performance. The reveal that he had protection on his grandson was one of the most epic moments, as the Prince had spent the whole movie seeming to be ahead of everyone else.
Holy crap was Steven staring in this and brad pit doing a reaction with Nikki? I literally couldn’t tell the difference between them! Haha especially loved this one! Happy holidays you two!

Hello!! As cinefilo and the sympathy and good vibes that you transmit I could not help but subscribe to your channel, Bullet Train is a very good movie, greetings from Spain.
There are a bunch of connections with this movie. Brad Pitt cameo'd in Deadpool 2 for Ryan Reynolds. He was the Vanisher, who only appeared for a few frames when he landed on the power lines. Reynolds appeared here for the same length of time as the assassin who killed the White Death's wife, Carver. Zazie Beetz (the Hornet) was in Deadpool 2 as Domino. Pitt also took a minor role in The Lost City, for Sandra Bullock, who returned the favor for Pitt in this movie. Also in The Lost City with Sandra was Channing Tatum.

what should blow your mind is in Ryan's Deadpool two Brad Pitt cameoed as the Vanisher in the one second scene were he dies on the powerlines.
Brad Pitt had a part in the Sandra Bullock/Channing Tatum movie The Lost City. That came out about 1 to 2 months before Bullet Train.

More movies like this and the first Smokin' Aces need to be made.
Also Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels. Love that movie
I love the part where Ladybug hits Tangerine in the face with a bottle of water.....that Tangerine PAID for 😂😂
I don't know why Ladybug thought he was unlucky. Everything that happened to him worked out just fine. Bad luck for absolutely everybody else.
I LOVED this movie!!!!! Thank you for watching it! I think it's my favorite movie of 2022. So unexpected 😃
Aaron Taylor Johnson (Tangerine) has had a hell of a glow up since he played David Lizewski in Kickass and Quicksilver in The Winter Soldier.
I think the point is that Ladybug has a lot of good luck *and* a lot of bad luck, both at the same time. When things are going normally and smoothly, something bad is bound to happen to him. But when it's a do-or-die high-stakes situation, it goes his way.
Aka the Parker luck.
@@Mansplainer2099-jy8ps
I don't know what that means, just that he's a lucky weirdness magnet. Was it lucky or unlucky that he *almost* got hit by a truck at the beginning? I'd say both were at play.
@@elbruces Exactly, he's Spider-Man.
"Is this sex stuff?" I laughed so hard.
Lmfao Channing was hilarious in this. His comment about the guy's walk 😂
Nikkis laugh is so contagious lol the harder she laughs it makes me laugh
This was one of my favourite movies of this year. Comedy and action mixed perfectly
This was my favorite movie of the year for sure!! Great reaction besties ❤️🤣🤣🥰
The stunts are so amazing because this was made by a stunt performer/coordinator, it really shows!
56:38 the subtle middle finger always gets me LOL
Soooo glad you two are watching this!!! This movie is EPIC!!!!!
Karen Fukuhara as the stewardess, a couple of Deadpool 2 eggs, the whole thing of dominos being lucky and so forth😂
Lemon & Tangerine need their own back story movie. This was soooo good!
Great reaction guys. 👍👍
Best movies of the year, Maverick, Bullet Train, and Confess Fletch.
Bullet Train was a surprise for me as well, I wasn't expecting much and was blown away. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you guys for this. The joy is real
I seriously love this movie 😂😂
So underrated!
Critics be damned (why i always make my own opinion) this movie was friggin awesome.......and Nikki.....i agree, also my new fav ever.
Steven i swear is my spirit animal lol and Nikkis laugh and joy is damn contagious 😂😂
I usually (not always) am on same page as you two on what i like to watch, but even when i dont, yall are a joy to watch with 🤠 . Keep it up 🥰
what should blow your mind is in Ryan's Deadpool two Brad Pitt cameoed as the Vanisher in the one second scene were he dies on the powerlines.
Tangerine's little "Woo woo!" kills me every time! 😂😂😂😂
The same tangerine truck was speeding past in the beginning when Ladybug was trying to cross the road.
So many cameos by great actors. This movie was a treat to watch with IMDB open 😄
tangerine was played by Aaron Taylor Johnson, i didn't even know till i looked it up after
I was so surprised when I saw this in the movies, I loved it ❤
My favourite movie of 2022. It had everything and it was so simple yet so damn good.
The first time I saw this movie I loved it, and every time I see an old Japanese man with a cane in an action movie that takes place in or around Japan I will always immediately assume that cane is a disguised katana.
I don't understand why this wasn't a blockbuster movie when it came out, so good.
"I'm not Diesel you're a Diesel..." lol
Hmmmm 😂 “Carver & Ladybug” is the comedic “Hobbs & Shaw”
Bring It On
Maybe a series especially with Lemon & Tangerine called “Fruit Salad”
Subscribed for this reaction alone! Awesome movie, glad you enjoyed it as much as me and my elderly mother did when I took her to the theater to see it for her birthday.
I subscribed here from their Train to Busan reaction... looks like their Asian public transportation reactions pull in all the subs. 🤣🤣🤣
Ryan Reynolds' cameo also was a returned favor because: Brad Pitt did a cameo in Deadpool 2!
Super underrated movie.
Love Hiroyuki Sanada in every performance. The reveal that he had protection on his grandson was one of the most epic moments, as the Prince had spent the whole movie seeming to be ahead of everyone else.
Lemon was right, the white death's son was a Percy. That was Logan Lerman who played Percy Jackson.
This was the most Tarantino-esque film and I loved it haha. Great cast, action and comedy bits. So glad people are giving this movie a chance haaha
Sooo good! I saw this for the first time on a plane. I almost died trying to keep myself from cackling while the whole plane was asleep.
You guys should watch Kick Ass! It stars Aaron Taylor Johnson (Tangerine) and is underrated
Brad is a top notch comedian. I'm surprised that he hasn't played more comedic roles. He's just so much fun to watch.
Holy crap was Steven staring in this and brad pit doing a reaction with Nikki? I literally couldn’t tell the difference between them! Haha especially loved this one! Happy holidays you two!
big THANKS to you guys!! I was NOT gonna watch this movie, but then istarted to watch your review and thought it looked so funny so i went and watched it! had a nice time! ty ty! i always watch your vids! merry xmaas
When Lemon woke up I was standing up clapping in the theaters 😂😂😂😂
I love how you 2 had so much fun; From the cameos to the action.
Seeing this in theaters was the most fun experience i ever had 🤯💜
I am very happy you guys enjoyed this. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Mr. Steven and Mrs. Nikki. 🎄✨️🤍
Hello!! As cinefilo and the sympathy and good vibes that you transmit I could not help but subscribe to your channel, Bullet Train is a very good movie, greetings from Spain.
Such a good movie! I loved ATJ (Tangarine), but the cast was all so epic!
I'm so glad you had the same reaction I had love you guys
Literally just finished watching it the other day! Great movie
