Today I'm going to show you how to make healthy breakfast smoothie.
This oat smoothie is packed with protein and fiber, it's so smooth and delicious.
Each smoothie has 20g of protein, so it will keep you going until lunch time.

OATMEAL SMOOTHIE RECIPE
(makes 2 smoothies)
BANANA BREAD SMOOTHIE
Ingredients:
1/3 cup rolled oats (35g)
1 cup milk, dairy or non-dairy (240ml)
1/2 cup cottage cheese (120g)
1 frozen banana
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tbsp flaxseed meal
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp chopped walnuts (20g)
1/2 cup water or ice
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per smoothie):
362 calories, fat 14.4g, carb 41.1g, protein 19.2
BLUEBERRY MUFFIN SMOOTHIE
Ingredients:
1/3 cup rolled oats (35g)
1 cup milk, dairy or non-dairy (240ml)
1/2 cup cottage cheese (120g)
1.5 cups frozen blueberries (225g)
1 tbsp natural peanut butter
4 dates
2 tbsp flaxseed meal
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup water or ice
NUTRITIONAL INFO (per smoothie):
361 calories, fat 11.4g, carb 49.6g, protein 19.1
Preparation:
In a blender add oats and pulse for couple of times until you turn oats into powder.
Add the rest of the ingredients and blend until smooth.
Pour in large glasses, garnish with some fruit and toasted oats and enjoy.

You can easily toast oats on top of the stove in a large skillet, just as you would sesame seeds.

Nice one 👍thanks for sharing. I have a similar recipe. I usually use 100% whole grain oats, old fashioned toast over the stove, coconut milk, flaxseeds, peanut butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, pink Himalayan salt, banana, avocado, unsweetened cocoa powder, date and Greek yogurt. I sometimes use roasted chickpeas flour instead of oat. Yummy 😋😋😋

Mmmm! I definitely like oats in my smoothies! I used to use them with baked sweet potato. What yummy smoothie recipes! You use a lot more cottage cheese than I usually do. I'll have to try your way. Yum yum!
I think that nutritious and filling breakfast smoothie has to be high in protein, that's the reason I add a bit more cottage cheese, just didn't want to suggest adding any protein powder. Love the idea of using sweet potato in your smoothies, have to try that too.

I made the banana bread smoothie. It is really delicious. I never liked raw oats so I lightly toasted the oats before adding them. Super delicious. ❤
Definitely tasty but also definitely did not keep me full until lunch 😅

Haha! I've been making this smoothie for about 30 years - used to call it banana milkshake! No cottage cheese though - greek yogurt. Also, I've recently started adding a few lumps of papaya into it as it's good for the gut apparently.

Great recipe! If you save the second smoothie, do you freeze or refrigerate it for the next day?
I just keep it in the fridge until next morning. It does get a bit thicker, but I add some water and mix with a spoon to make it drinkable again.

Exactly, these are not so called low calorie smoothies, but the difference is that having one smoothie of this kind will make you completely satisfied.
Just have a bowl of Porridge ..2 minutes in a Microwwave ...feel full the rest of the day 👍

Is there any alternative for flaxseed meal and peanut butter?
Just leave out the flax. Hate that stuff. Maybe use psyllium husk
You could probably use chia seeds instead of flaxseed. If you grind the chia seeds in a spice grinder before adding to the smoothie, you don't get the "chia seeds stuck in your teeth" texture that whole chia seeds sometimes yields.
Needed this to fuel my morning bike ride up a hill lol

I tried the banana one, and wow, is this a rich smoothie, do not try chugging it! Tastes just like it's advertised, basically like a drinkable breakfast oatmeal. I added sweetener, the original recipe wasn't sweet enough for me, but that's just a personal preference.
