I've heard you Americans have cars called Buick, Cadillac, and Chevrolet. Is that true? I don't know anyone who owns one of those brands, but my brother has a Polestar. 😊
American? Mmmm… not quite American. They’re more Chinese and Canadian now.
Polestar, like Volvo, are forgettable cars. Not price competitive for the specs.
A lot of people don't even know what a Polestar is when they see it on the streets. No aspiration in their designs either.

@@qaching That's fair, but the US and China are the largest markets for auto sales so it's important they do well in those markets, alongside successful markets like Belgium. The point of the video is to bring awareness to PoleStar for those who have never heard of the brand.
Polestar does have an identity. It sees itself as a design focused, premium/luxury brand. It sees Porsche as it's main competitor.
They don't have the history of the Porsche brand so they need to come at them, hard and fast, by releasing multiple EV cars, in multiple segments.
This is where they have failed and why they don't come up in the EV conversations.
It's sister company, Volvo, seems to be suffering from the same issue, as they too have a hard time releasing EV cars.
Volvo to this day, and probably won't until late 2024, doesn't have a single "pure" EV car on the road.
Polestar has announced 3, 4, 5 and 6 but we won't see any of them on the road either until late 2024.
It seems that Geely is limiting Volvo and Polestars capabilities to redirect their resources to their Chinese brands instead.
The Zeekr 001, which is already available for delivery, is essentially a rebranded Polestar 4, but the Polestar 4 won't be available globally until late 2024.
I believe that if they weren't being limited by Geely, both Volvo and Polestar would've been a much bigger player in the EV space now than they currently are.
Is it really surprising tho? Thats not the first time we’ve seen that happen. A similar thing happened when China bought stake in Buick after the housing crisis of 2008.
