Strange that the Dual Motor only has a 78 kw battery in the US. In Scandinavia both the RWD and AWD has 82kw in the New 2024 models. Maybe that will change soon?
Great car but the charging infrastructure isn't in place yet. When Tesla owners are happy when any EV can use a Tesla Supercharger, then we know we have enough chargers. Meanwhile it will make a great commuter or runabout for local journeys.
The trunk got me thinking about how I want to get an EV soon but I can't bring myself to be okay with something without a spare tire. At least a space for me to put it myself if it isn't included. They got like half of a cavity for it but still nothing. Seems only truck EVs are giving people that option still :( Really wish they didn't forego the space for, well, anything really. I can't think of much worth giving that up. Especially for people who don't live and drive exclusively in cities.
What kind of fossil cars in a similar size still comes with a spare? All the cars I've owned for the last 10-15 years came with a tire repair kit, but no spare. Some of the larger EV'S can have a spare as an option though, but probably mostly the SUVs.
It’s a pretty car, with some more upscale textures inside the cabin. But, with almost 100 miles less range, and around $20,000 more to buy one, this car is dead on arrival as a competitor to the Model 3 Long Range. You know how you see 50-100 model 3 cars on the road for every Polestar? Don’t expect that to change anytime soon.
If material quality is what you’re looking for then sure the Polestar is a better option. My main issue with the Polestar 2 is the design. It feel like a 90s design. You got to sit in a Polestar for 30 minutes, then sit in a Tesla model 3. The Tesla interior is simpler, has more room, has more glass area and is simply more enjoyable on long trips in my opinion.
@@bobiqcr There is no wrong opinion on this. I love that Tesla is American made. I dig the performance of it. But when it comes to spending time in a well sorted out quality built vehicle, they don't compete with brands that are synonymous with that experience. And that is fine. I recently took an Uber ride in a base model Polestar 2. It was much smaller than I expected, had a weird transmission tunnel in the middle of the back seats and just felt very cheap inside compared to Model 3 and Y. Perhaps this is better with an upgraded model but I came away very unimpressed.
It is ICE based being made off of an XC40. So there is some sacrifices until it becomes ground up BEV. The entry level has a vegan interior that has door panel trim and floor mats made from recycled fish nets and water bottles.
