  • Despite being incredibly popular, The Nissan Z Isn't Selling.
    Here's Why!
    📉 Alright, fellas, let's get real. You've been eyeing that sleek Z, imagining yourself tearing up the asphalt, but things aren't going as planned. Sales are as slow as molasses on a winter morning, and we're about to uncover why.
    📚 Before we get into the nitty-gritty, let's rewind a bit. We're talking historical context, economic rollercoasters, and a dash of CEO drama that'll make you raise an eyebrow.
    🛑 Now, about those dealer markups... Ever felt like you're paying a premium for that Z? Yeah, we've been there too. But fear not, we're spilling the beans on what's really going on behind those inflated prices.
    💡 But that's only the tip of the iceberg. Trust me, it's going to get messy.
    🔍 So, if you're ready to peel back the curtain on the Nissan Z's sales slump, have a few laughs, and maybe learn a thing or two, hit that play button and let's get this automotive party started! 🏁

      If they equipped an LSD as standard (as with much cheaper sports cars, such as the GR86) It would've sold better.
      But instead, they locked it behind a $10,000 paywall. Which bumps it's price into the territory of other sports cars, which perform better. Thus, poor sales..

    Not so super amazing redesign.
    It's a restyled, tired old platform, with a powertrain borrowed from the Infiniti parts bin. And most reviewers have reported underwhelming performance (BMyota Zupra blows it's doors off)
    Worst of all. They locked the LSD diff behind a $10,000 paywall.. Meanwhile, the much cheaper GR86 comes with an LSD, STANDARD.

      This ''old'' platform has aluminum subframes and double wishbone front suspension, far more advanced chassis than a lot of cars, even the Supra. We could also say that Toyota is using a powertrain from BMW parts bin. Even with a 10k extra for the LSD, it remains less expensive than the Supra, and i'm not talking about the crazy interest rates at Toyota. Many experienced driver preferred the way the front end acts and communicates in the Z over the Supra. While the GR86 is cheaper, it's also way slower and rides like a shopping cart. I remember people back in the day criticizing the 370z for being too stiff and uncomfortable, so they dialed back the suspension, now people complain that the suspension is too squishy. What killed this car is reviewers only judging cars on their screen size and gadgets that complained it was riding on an old platform, while not having a clue what this platform is about.

    Other than the outrageous pricing. The Z is basically a older model Z with cosmetic changes. Might as well get a 350 or a 370 Z. Mustang Dark Horse for around the same price would be a better choice in terms of getting a car with modern tech, more creature comforts, manual transmission for the special trim(manual in a new Nismo Z has yet to be officially confirmed as far as I know, but there are strong rumors, the last time I've heard), more power, nicer exhaust note due to the V8. I would even look into a Lexus IS 500 F Sport before looking into the Z even though it is a sedan. I have to give the Z thumbs down. 👎 👎

  • @Michael-ur5qb
    @Michael-ur5qb 4 місяці тому

    I feel like the inly way for the Z to stay alive in the US is for it to become a higher profit margin car ie higher price. Since the GTR isn’t really known outside the car racing community maybe Nissan should consider tying them together and giving the next Gen Z styling for the states and just have the one model. Then introducing something more affordable to compete with the BRZ based on the Sentra chassis (maybe that 3 cylinder out of the rogue).

    • @BrkDownMedia
      @BrkDownMedia  4 місяці тому

      Not a bad idea, but I think they tried to do that with the Nismo Sentra and it flopped but the reality is that journalists carry the weight of influence and dealers carry the weight of sales. So if neither of those are in alignment, the car will always flop.

    It auto slush box sucks (compared to the ZF) and the manual is made of glass.

      @@BrkDownMedia “manufactured under jatco”. Bro what are you even talking about? It’s a jatco transmission in which Nissan owns the company. They are a terrible manufacturer that’s why every other company abandoned them. It’s not semantics in the slightest. Did you know jatco agreement allowed jatco to make changes? Because it did. Which is why it’s shit. If it was the Daimler made trans then it would be fine.

    I was disappointed when the 'Z' came out. it's not what it could have been, never was a fan of the new look of this Z. my opinion is it looks like too much effort was focused on combining the looks of all previous Zs without giving it it's own distinct look. Even the 20 year old Honda S2000 looks better than this.. The front and rear looks like sht.

      The new Z just feels like its put together with 65-70% old 370Z parts. As a pass Nissan Z fan it's been very disappointing.

    The price, the Z is suppose to be cheap but now it's in the territory of a Porsche 718 which is a better car in every category. I have a 370 and I got into a new Z and it didn't evolve for me enough to justify that huge jump in price that I paid for my 370, sport.

      It is, but from a cost of ownership POV, the Z will always be the better choice. But I don't disagree that upgrades need to be justifiable.

      @@BrkDownMedialol that’s not true at all. Porsche is more reliable and the resell is 10x better. Porsche parts aren’t really that much more expensive and you’ll be using them less. Nissan has been building garbage for a decade + and using the q50 motor isn’t anything special.
