so where does the fuel that leaves the injection pump go? I see you made a return from the fuel pump to the tank....Are you using the the stock suction line as the return for the fuel pump, and then leave the return for the injectors and the injection pump to the original fuel return?
The air dog system by passes the stock fuel filtration system, but uses the stock return system. The return fitting on the module would be reconnected when the tank is mounted back under the truck. It would not be left open or disconnected. Remember, 3/8” fittings are return lines. Fuel supply uses the 1/2” fittings.
Please keep in mind you will have to make a custom bracket if you have a mega cab/Aisin transmission, steps. Keep in mind all videos to include this one show deleted trucks with no Def tank. I will try and upload a pic of what I had to do to make mine fit. I will also try and work with AirDog to help provide measurements for what I did for mine. To maybe help others out there.
It would have been nice if you showed the electrical install, and the pump hook up on a 5.9. Where it says to hook to the pump you have to plug the old solid line and you give nothing in the install kit to do that with. This video answered the question i had about the stock pump wires but it still doesn't address the one original connection left open on top of the tank.
If you are referring to the remaining quick connect fuel line on top of the tank, the original engine return is re-connected to it when the tank is reinstalled. The original suction line is now the AirDog return line and the new bulkhead fitting is the AirDog suction line. Hope this helps.
Yes, it does matter. The factory suction on the top of the tank is a 3/8 male fitting and the factory return is a 5/16 male fitting. Our kit comes with a 3/8 female fitting to connect the AirDog return to what used to be the factory suction line and the factory return goes back to the factory return.
@@LaJuanHughes If you are running a sump, you can skip the step for installing the bulk head in the module, and run the AirDog return to the factory suction fitting on the module, and run your factory return back to the factory return fitting on top of the module. You will still need to remove the module to cut the factory suction line in the tank to allow the AirDog return to not be restricted. If you don't want to remove the module, you can order a filler neck return tee from us, but then you will need to cap off the factory suction line.

The sump will be the better option for fuel delivery. If you don't want to drill any holes in the fuel tank, you can get one of our fuel module upgrade kits instead of the draw straw.
I was looking at the Beans sump, kinda concerned about fuel line exposed under the tank. If it's a highway cruiser no problem, but if you are on the trail, I'd be worried. You can install the sump with a draw straw, that gives you the draw form the lowest point but fuel is supplied from up top on tank

Veljko Blagojevic Here’s my thought on the dual beans sump - the air return is literally right next to the main feed so it will continually suck the returned air right back into the air dog. I am doing the same setup right now - airdog2 and the dual beans sump. I decided to drop the tank yesterday and am only using the main feed out of the beans and will be installing the air return into the top of the sending unit. No need to remove the factory pump as that won’t be working anyway with the airdog harness plugged in. Good luck with the build Veljko.
If you are using a feed and return sump, you won't need to drop the tank. If it's just a feed sump, you will still need to drop the tank to modify the module to allow the AirDog return to operate correctly.
I went with the beans sump with my air dog 165 my question is from what I understand I will use the factory supply for the return from the air dog is this correct? Also if using factory supply for the air dog return wouldn’t the stock fuel pump still be trying to pump fuel at the same time or do I need to drop the tank and just pull out the stock fuel pump?
On the trucks with the in-tank pumps, you will still need to drop the tank or pull the bed to modify the sending unit to run our return into the factory suction location. The only other option is to order one of our filler neck tees so you can plumb your return to the filler neck instead.

My question is what do I do with the factory fuel line connection to the CP3 as you run a new one with the included hose and connector? Can I just plug this line and call it good or should I cut the airdog harness to prevent the pump in tank from running?
The AirDog feed connects directly to the CP3. The factory return from the injection system returns to the factory port in the fuel module. The AirDog harness already bypasses the power to the in-tank pump. It just steals the pump power wire to act as a trigger for our relay harness while jumping the fuel level sender wires to retain fuel level readout on the dash. The only open port will be the original feed line. You'll need to get a 3/8" vacuum cap to cap the original feed port out of the fuel module to prevent any fuel leaks.
