    My truck had been doing that funky idle shit for months now. I found that tube off the manifold had broken off. But for months nobody could figure out what was wrong. I fixed it yesterday all this time😂

    What is the wire you used. I am in middle of doing this and would like to add wire for a safety measure as well!

    • @manbuilds1587
      @manbuilds1587  День тому +1

      @@anstephens Its just tie wire. You can get at any hardware store. "Annealed wire", can get in galvanised or stainless steel. Regular bare metal annealed wire ,used for tying rebar works. but will rust a bit.over time.

    So why get rid of the Throttle Body (& Flapper) and replace it with that Horn? Is that necessary?

    • @manbuilds1587
      @manbuilds1587  День тому

      Its not nessesary to remove it. I would make sure it is open & unplug it after a computer re-flash though.
      Guys remove them because it is easy to remove, it causes some restriction when compared with a n aftermarket horn. The flapper valev is þ4⁴⁴a9 componet of the egr system. It closes to create vacume forn egr dydem ub leave it in plaxeŕ

    Great job on the video. Thanks for doing that. I’d like to do it to my truck. I would like to just do the delete kit. Do I have to do a tune? What did you do thank you.

    • @manbuilds1587
      @manbuilds1587  3 місяці тому

      @oscariturralde1270 The truck was tuned by the previous owner, with components still in place. Except for the dpf was removed & replaced with straight pipe.
      Later when I had the time & the kit I removed the components to fully delete it.
      You have to tune it to delete the dpf & egr.
      When doing the tune delete make sure to unplug the flapper valve on intake horn & the dpf will have to be removed, replaced with a muffler or straight pipe. If no muffled it will be loud.

      The truck is more responsive with components removed, maybe spools up quicker because less volume to pressure up in the exhaust manifold with egr cooler removed, or better flow with out the flapper valve.
      A further improvement will come from removing the grid heater I suspect.

    grid heater bolt just itching to do some damage

    • @FireBosspilot
      @FireBosspilot 28 днів тому

      If you can’t make the repair on the grid heater bolt right away? Then disconnect it! I ran a whole winter without a grid heater, as long as you have a functioning block heater, it works perfectly well.

    How much trouble did that coolant fitting in the block give you? I've been struggling trying to get that thing out for hours.

      @manbuilds1587  Місяць тому

      @@spiker84 mine came out pretty easy. Some guys just put the hose over that fitting with out changing it out. Not as good as changing it out but if have to a guy could throw the hose on it until figure out how to get that seized fitting out.

      I had the same issue, I used oxyacetylene torch and heated up the base (careful of the aluminum cuz it will melt) and then used knipex channel locks at the top, came right out after that. Could probably use propane, little safer on aluminum stuff

    It’s criminal what the EGR dumps into the intake.. what a complete fail emissions are.

      My bobcat is the same, probable worse. Egr valve is the dumbest device on a diesel. Have to put a block off plate on that next.

    Sorry I don't know much about this but could you install the blockoff plates between everything and leave all the parts in place? So that it wouldn't look like it had been deleted 🤔

    • @manbuilds1587
      @manbuilds1587  2 місяці тому +2

      Yes. If you wanted to, a guy could install a block off plate at any location before the intake. To prevemt exaust gas from entering. The problem is the width of the plate in some locations. If install a plate without a computer reflash & disabling the components the egr will still actuate & the egr cooler will still be suseptible to normal heat stresses.
