@@ginkamikaze2 Actually, Amy Lee sang one song with Seether called Broken. And Fernando is correct, the song Dirty is thinking of is Bring Me To Life. And if you look at the video for Broken you will see Amy in it. Never hurts giving Amy a look.
LOVE Evanescence, fronted by Amy Lee! Her voice has power and resonance with so much emotional energy. You had heard “Bring Me to Life” before-and, that male backup voice you had heard was from a Christian Rock vocalist. The producers from the record label had insisted a male voice be added to the song because they did not believe a female-fronted band would sell albums or get air-play-because the producers were sexist d*cks. Amy Lee has regretted going along with that addition for years since, so much so that she later re-recorded that song without the male vocals, because her voice is more than enough for her work. Oh yeah... And, she’s also playing that piano-because the girl has mad skills!
I keep being surprised by how many people don't know Evanescence and Amy Lee. She is one of the most talented singers of our time. And the combination of her voice with the band.... 😍
i think she is like of those artist you have heared but just don't know who it is. like i would probably bet my left nut that people have heard bring me to life or atleast people who where around in the early 2000s.
I bkame the record label, bring me to life was never supposed to have a rapper, causing them to be lumped in with the nu metal scene and clowned on, also nu metal didn't deserve the hate it got but that's a different conversation lmfao
"She likes to lay down a lot" - She's playing an angel in this video. You will note, her feet never ever touch the ground. Also, the bandages on her wrists are kind of a big clue.
I heard she never touches the ground, lays down, walks on a fountain, sits in a tree, because she is dead (not an angel). She's the remnant spirit, who clings to life, while the pianist/co-founder of the group walks around remembering what was...
Joey☝️.. I think everyone can interpret the video in their own way and to call someone an idiot because they don't share the same opinion than you🙄...... yeah!!! I think you need to calm down a little and stop to think a little how you behave here with the others!
Amy Lee is an amazing singer....just an angelic voice. A lot of their music is hard rock...but she has such an amazing voice that she can sing anything! I am a 62 year old heavy metal music fan myself....an ex-football player...6'6" 350 lb. Offensive Lineman back in college....and Amy Lee brings tears to my eyes when she sings this song. I guess because two of my siblings have lost children that were only 20 years old...it hits me because I was so close to both of them....and it's hard to see my siblings in so much pain for so long.
It never goes away, but it will eventually change into some thing that hurts A little less that you can live with. But every now and then something like this song comes along and brings you to your knees.
The song is from the perspective of the dude at the piano (Ben Moody, the guy who wrote the song.) His girl is dead (possibly from suicide) and he's unable to move on. The singer (Amy Lee) is playing the ghost of the dead girl, and she's singing the thoughts of the man she left behind when she died. The song is called, "My Immortal" because she can never age or change, and will always remain, in his mind, as she was when she died...thus, she is forever immortal. It was inspired by the grief that Moody experienced when his grandfather died.
Amy Lee has one of the more powerful voices in female-fronted rock today. I recommend their other songs. "Going Under," "Bring Me to Life," and "Lithium" for starters.
Evanescence can play pretty much any style they choose. Most bands are held back by their lead singers. Amy Lee is NOT one of them. Her voice can be haunting, angry and adapts well to most genres. Keep listening. You won't regret it. From one metalhead to another.

Evanescence (evan essence) is an orchestral rock band, these types of bands typically have a bit of a gothic feel to their music. Amy Lee's, at least in a lot of her earlier works, were a bit darker than most. At least in her lyrics. Usually because the topics she wrote about were about personal struggles or tragedies, such as the death of her sister. And they are and continue to be very relatable for a lot of people young and old. Other bands that would typically fall into this category are Nightwish, Within Temptation, We Are the Fallen, and Epica.
