I don't know who needs to hear this, but this might help someone in reference to maintenance. I've had my XL for about a month. I have the model with the paddle safeties. I took it apart and cleaned it, scrubbing in down and then running it through the ultrasonic cleaner. When I lubed and reassembled it, during the safety check, the safety lever got stuck in the on position. What this means is that if that happens, you can't disassemble the gun. I fiddled with it enough I was finally able to get it off safe. Inspection revealed that the safety lever bar was completely dry...I hadn't gotten any oil to it, which caused it to lock up. After oiling that bar (and the holes in the frame it passes through), and working the safety a few times, it started working as it should again. Not super important, just an FYI. Might help someone else.
Not super helpful since I already bought one, but reaffirms my decision to forego the safety. I tried one with a safety in the store, and it just felt too anemic. Like, if I carried with the safety on, and I needed to shit my shorts and draw on somebody quick, I may have an issue getting the safety off. Good to know I also avoided a potential lubrication malfunction, and very important for anybody still looking. Thanks for sharing.
Love my P365XL. I swapped the grip for a Wilson Combat grip with tungsten weights. Huge difference! Also added a Holosun 407k green dot. This is my favorite in my collection
The Wilson grip was well worth the $60. I took my 407k off and went back to just using the night sights. Not seeing the dot in daylight, or having it so bright indoors or at night time, that you're blinded by your own optic was not fun. Irons aren't as sexy, but at least they're consistent.
I have personally owned and carried this gun, and shot it of course. I loved how smooth it felt, the grip was perfect for my medium sized hands, and the ammo capacity was right on target for what I wanted in a ccw. The night sights are fantastic, I really had no complaints for the first few hundred rounds. Awesome gun, I feel it's worth the price tag

So my first thought when purchasing and shooting the XL is that the grip was tiny for my hands. I have L/XL glove hands and the only thing that made the grip manageable on the XL was attaching the Hogue grip. It really filled my hand nicely and my pinky did not feel out of place. I really like how the XL shoots and it’s easily getting the most carry time in my rotation. Great video as always!

Great honest review. The SigP365XL is a VERY good EDC pistol. I have one and agree about the grip size issue. The compact size to round capacity is awesome. I placed a Holosun 507K on my pistol. It's an awesome EDC choice.
Try the Wilson Combat grip frame - I bought one and it was like night and day - perfect fit for my large hand size. It shoots like a full-sized pistol with the Wilson Combat grip frame. Give it a try! They're only about $65 bucks, so it won't break the bank to give it a whirl.

Can't wait to break it in and I've heard it's an awesome EDC. Update: Had this for almost 2 months and I absolutely love it. Perfect for edc, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. With True Precision offering threaded barrels, Icarus Precision making custom metal frames, and red dot options, it’s really a great platform. Became my year round carry.
Does anyone offer a grip that is thicker from front to back? I like the platform but the grip is crazy small. I find that the Sheild Plus has a much better handling grip but I don't prefer it as a platform for various reasons.
@@Ohitsmattyice I know, but I DO NOT like rubber on my carry guns. I've seen other with the same complaints about Hogue grips. It's just odd that there are NO grip size options from Sig beyond an XL grip LENGTH. I mean, they have a modular system. The aftermarket has not tackled it either, AFAIK.
This gun is what I carry. I think its perfect for those with short fingers small hands but still wants the accuracy of that little longer barrel. It's hard to find a small gripped gun with a longer barrel.
Your reviews are top teir and very informative. You helped sway me away from the Shadow Systems CR920 by stating it's not 100 % reliable. You also swayed me over to a New Sig Sauer 365 xl by this review. Thanks for all your hard work and God Bless You
It really was fantastic how that comment came out naturally. I was going to mention that that girl adds a lot to your channel with her great filming and her occasional awesome comments, so I'll just put it here.
I'm just getting into the firearms scene and I love your channel. Informative and entertaining. I purchased a Sig P320 compact last weekend. Haven't gotten to shoot it yet. Unfortunately, I live in an area where I will have to find time to go to a range to practice. Too populated around me to shoot in the backyard. Anyway, thanks for the great, honest content.
Putting the normal p365 grip module on this gun seems like the best combo, and I really like the fact that can be done without any permanent modification.
This was helpful. As a woman, I have small hands. I’m gonna try this one at a range soon. I want a new gun and wanna try tons out before I spend $500-$800.
Good day, I saw your review of the SIG P365 which scared me a bit because I had just purchased a P365XL. This review allayed my fears. My P365XL suits me perfectly because I have small hands. All I added is an extended mag release. My SIG has been flawless. It shoots better than I. I'm encouraged, I'm improving. Thanks for your videos!
I’ve had the 365XL for over a year now. Installed Wilson Combat grip module and the tungsten weights. Grip fits & feels better in my larger hands and with less felt recoil. Definitely recommend the Wilson Combat grip module!
I'm a smaller framed guy, about 5'4" and 135 pounds, and this gun was the only one that I could comfortably hold as well as conceal. Wish there were more 9mm options out there for smaller people, but this is the only one at this point and I carry it almost everyday. Also, hello from another fellow Iowan!
Bro don't fall into that same height little bigger in weight and I conceal a glock 21 everyday. You don't need a micro pistol. Buy clothes that work for what you wanna carry
@@Jaypc06 🤣 Just wear a trench coat 24/7 even when it's 90+ degrees with 98% humidity in FL. What's the problem? Then you can conceal a 12-gauge, an AR, a lever-action, & five handguns. I'm not sure why you're complaining, you should listen to andog6092.
I got to check this out at my local gun store, and it's the perfect size for my little girl mitts! It's really hard to find a gun that sits in my hands so perfectly.
True, everything you said! Terrific review and some darn good shooting by the entire HO family! I bought one of these mid-October and it is just the perfect carry pistol for me. Yes, it’s almost able to transition to home defense and I’m sure many will do so. An all-around terrific shooter with nicely manageable recoil that really needs no changes out of the box. Importantly, to me, it doesn’t need to use magazine extensions to get a full grip. And love that flat, 90° break trigger! I’ve been waiting most of my life for this gun. At 67yo you can imagine what I started out carrying. A 5 shot Chief’s Special Airweight; a POS that NOBODY wanted to practice with. I could shoot the P365 all day, it’s so enjoyable. I’ve also been able to clear the deck of most of my small single stacks thanks to the P365XL arriving at about the same size as my PPS M2 (but with better weight distribution). It’s amazing.
I have the P365X and it is fantastic, I initially went with the Hellcat to replace my M&P Shield as my daily carry gun and I really enjoy the Hellcat and chose it over the original P365. I don't care for the slide length of the P365XL, but the P365X is to me the best of both worlds! It's got the flat trigger, optics cut, extended beavertail and longer grip of the XL, but the short slide of the original. I have the Holosun 407k and it's a much better red dot than the Sig Romeo Zero! Great video as always!
To me the difference in slide length between the p365 and the XL is not a big enough difference to justify the original. Wanted a p365 for awhile, until I seen and compared to the XL. Went with the XL.
@@love2chiefs agreed. I had an opportunity to get the x when they were in high demand but if the xl has a better trigger then all the better. I'm 5'6'' so the shorter barrel albeit by not much does almost make me forget it is there. Perhaps in the future its the x for ankle and xl apendix. lol
My absolute favorite pistol on the market for edc. I myself have larger hands as well, switched to the Wilson combat grip module and I can shoot this thing like a laser now. Just adds enough to the grip for me to get both hands on it. I was a Glock 48 guy but this is on another level for comfortability and shootability. Love it
I carried this gun for a little over 2 years now(replaced my shield 2.0), while I really have no complaints, the grip is just too small for my hands. I picked up a shield plus and the 365XL will now go back in my safe. The shield is a better gun for me...not saying the 365XL is not a great gun, but the shield is better, for me. I cant tell you how much I appreciate your channel, my fav channel for gun gun reviews hands down!!
I really appreciate your shooting skills, it'd be great if you made some educational videos about how you shoot, as in for example when do you shoot with one eye and when do you shoot with both eyes, how to shoot with a single hand, basically videos about the fundamentals of pistol shooting and such, maybe on rifles too. p.s love your videos.
Great review. Others who post videos aren't as thorough as you. Well done. It is a great gun; especially to those of us who are huge Sig fans. I love my P365XL. Love it. I have not had one issue with it in over 2 years (and over 1500 rounds). The small grip problem that you mentioned several times is true (I had the same issue), but is easily addressed. Just put a Hogue rubber grip on. It'll cost less than $25 and it makes a world of difference. Thanks for your video.
yea but even i was surprised after seeing the 365 vs 365xl next to eschother in person. it rlly wouldn’t make a big enough difference for somone with bigger hands and i mean like actual big hands not just fat palms lol
That's what I thought about the xl , we wanted the 365 for the size , now people are buying the xl and mounting a dot and light , I think we forgot what made the 365 special
Whats funny is, i saw this pistol pop up in my yt feed, thought it was pre’ cool but was ultimately uninterested. Next thing i know, im in my local shop, picking up some of that sweet sweet 9mm and what do i see for sale? A brand new p365 xl equipped with the remeo zero for $799. Lord forgive me for i have sinned. Now it’s in my holster, on my waist. Took it to the range, put it thru some boxes of 9mm, ultimately satisfied. Gdi.
I have large hands. I put Talon wrap on rubber grips on my 365XL.. problem fixed. Gun is fantastic and with the 507k sight, maybe the best EDC I've owned in 20 years. Also, very good reset, I can get three shots off very fast. Enjoy!
I personally think critiques like “grip is small” or “can’t get a good handle on it” are superfluous. The gun is designed to be small and compact, you can’t expect a nice-fitting grip for most people on this type of design.
So true. I have large hands and the grip to me is very comfortable. I think a distinction should be made between large hands and freakishly long fingers.
I just bought the XL grip/frame for my p365. I love having flush fit mags and being able to do dry fire practice without removing the follower from one of my 12 round mags
Adding an optic is really easy, I just put a new one on last night. The RomeoZero is obviously what it was designed for, but other micro optics like the Holosun 407K also fit perfectly.
I know this is a late comment but she looked super comfortable with the 365 xl, that gives me confidence because I was looking for a gun for my wife and I think this is what I'm going to go with. Thank y'all
You mentioned in your G48 review that you’re planning on doing a G48 vs G43X vs G43 comparison... I think you should throw the P365XL in the mix!! The XL slots between the G48 and G43X (size wise).

The trigger is something I highly recommend updating, me personally, something just wasn't right. Had to update the romeo site for a swampfox green dot, I can grab the site-picture quicker for some reason. But all in all, I definitely recommend this sig.
Fit my hand like a glove, loved it! I have the Glock 19x and tried to use for concealed carry. Just too big. I shoot well with it, however I wanted something that conceals better yet still shoots well and good mag capacity. The 365XL is perfect for me.
The XL isn't necessarily the "next generation" of the P365. It's just a larger version of the same generation gun. The first few production runs of the P365 had some issues in a small percentage of guns. Those have been corrected in later production runs.
I own one, and overall I really like it but lately I've noticed that the sides of the grip are pretty smooth and my support hand tends to slip when shooting. I'm talking about the sides with the star burst texturing, for whatever reason they seem smooth and it's solely for that reason I've gone back to the OEM grip module. I compared the two grips and noticed I slip less with the OEM one

@@dilldowschwagginz2674 As a male, I have a smaller hand. The Sig P365 XL fits my hand better than my S&WE M&P 9c (12 round magazine). I can shoot my 9c just fine but the XL allows my thumb nail to wrap to the cuticle of my first finger where the 9c allows me to wrap my thumb nail to the front of the first finger nail.
All m&p is not in the same ballpark as Sig, they should stick to manufacturing revolvers! Oh, the s&w victory not even close to Browning and Ruger in 22lr.
Medium/large hands here, never held another gun that fit my hands as well as this one does. Only reason I don't have it is I can't justify something larger than my 365 with only 2 more rounds. If I want more than 10+1 then I'm not concealed, and I have my XDM on my hip.
I usually watch your reviews within A day or 2 of the bell ringing. One of the things that really like about this review is that you clearly mentioned the diminutive size of the grip. I struggle to put my hand inside Magpul 3XL shooting gloves. So, I really appreciate the input on the size of the grip. I found that I could not hold the 365 because my forward supporting hand thumb extended beyond the end of the barrel so I had considered the XL. However, now knowing how small that grip is, I'm putting that idea in the "round file" too.
I recently purchased the XL and at the 3 and 7 yard my grouping was about 3 inch circle, got a little sloppy at 15 yards but overall extremely accurate.

I thought the same thing you did. I just got mine a week ago, had a few RTB failures in the first 100 hundred rounds due to the insanely stiff mag spring but now have 350+ and the failures have subsided. I'm happy with this blaster and it is now in my EDC rotation.

I’ve bought and shot every other CCW out there and I always come back to this one. It carrie’s slimmer and shoots better than anything else for me. Trust me, that $10-$15 grip makes all the difference!
Glocks never felt good in my hands and I don't have small hands. Everyone uses Glocks like a gold standard, but I never liked them at all. I think that the grip shape being good or bad is subjective and could go either way for different people.
I don't know if they did a redesign or not since this video, but I picked up an XL recently and I'd say it has the very best striker trigger I've ever had.
It's somewhat strange how the reset felt long to Mrs. Outlaw, the consensus on the XL is that its a short reset, I wonder if it's the way the flat trigger breaks that made it feel weird to her. Always good to see different perspectives.
Excellent feedback thanks, exactly what I was looking for. How about a comparison with the new G48 single stack as I believe dimensions are very close.

I carry the p320 compact carry and I love it, but I'm a sig guy anyway. With the p320 compact carry it has a heavier slide but is very accurate with a 3.9 in barrel and the had grip is perfect fit for my hand. Not really a fan of optics I'm old fashion using iron sights. Would love to see the P365XL vs Walther PPS M2 as I think they are the leaders in this plus sized sub-compact segment. Like your wife’s opinion on their shootability and control. Keep up the great work. Love the channel.
as always, great review! I love my XL with the exception of the trigger pull. Too much take up, not very crisp break. But that doesn't deter me from loving the gun....
I love my 365xL but it does make you work harder for the good groups. When I picked up my friends 320xCarry I was able to hammer home groups on top of groups. I go back to shoot my 365xl and I can get the groups but I definitely have to more aware of my fundamentals. I’ll probably get the xCarry for home and stick to 365xl for carry.
Very funny interaction with the Mrs. I’ve been waiting for the jury on this gun. The original was just so small that I found my support thumb crazy close to muzzle (XL gloves are generally not long enough in fingers for me) in the stores and then the firing pin issues arose. This could be the magic mix of improvements to get a really concealable size. Nice review. Thanks to both you and KS.
Hey Honest Outlaw who would you recommend for dependable low priced ammo in bulk? Hopefully with a discount code? Ps I love all your stuff. This is why I come to you for advice.
Agreed about the grip! I shot the XL at the range and didn't think it was much of an improvement over the p365. My hands are large but not X-large like yours. I prefer a larger grip. I would go with the M&P 2.0 3.6" over the XL.

Lol... Love you didn't edit it out 😜

After watching dozens of videos on the P365XL I think the general consesus is this is the CCW gun to purchase UNLESS you have really big hands
I have xl hands and it fits very well. I'm excited for the ammo shortage to end so I can burn rounds through this
Good day, I saw your review of the SIG P365 which scared me a bit because I had just purchased a P365XL.
How has the reliability been?
@@Zondidjejsj Owned a P365xl for 3 years now, and it's been flawless. No issues at all, with any ammo I throw at it.
Do you have any issues concealing? Im about the same size, and torn between the 365 and the 365xl
Bro don't fall into that same height little bigger in weight and I conceal a glock 21 everyday. You don't need a micro pistol. Buy clothes that work for what you wanna carry

Thanks for the input! It said the optics cut is just for the Romeo. How did you put on the 407k?
Love it
I have a Glock 48 and am looking to get a 365 xl to replace it
I have small hands and this is the FIRST gun that I held that actually felt right. I Love it.

Same, but I jave an XL grip frame instead of the original. highly recommended if you like the 12s

That's what I thought about the xl , we wanted the 365 for the size , now people are buying the xl and mounting a dot and light , I think we forgot what made the 365 special
Just upgraded from a ruger lc9 too this , Absolutely love the mag capacity and grip feeling , The night sights are also a plus.
I agree with your takes on this pistol. I just picked it up recently and I think it's a great little carry piece.
Starting about 6:35 - I'm not the only one to comment, but that's the best part of any gun review ever...
Gdi.
Not a bad deal right now either
I have large hands. I put Talon wrap on rubber grips on my 365XL.. problem fixed. Gun is fantastic and with the 507k sight, maybe the best EDC I've owned in 20 years. Also, very good reset, I can get three shots off very fast. Enjoy!
Have to agree. It's been really hard for to justify carrying anything else since I got the P365XL, esp. since I put a Swampfox Sentinel optic on it.
Just got one today! My 4th Sig over the years, love em, still have my P6.
Yeah. I'm lucky, I do not have big hands at all.
I love your banter. God bless the reset.
I just bought the XL grip/frame for my p365. I love having flush fit mags and being able to do dry fire practice without removing the follower from one of my 12 round mags
Your videos have the absolute best videography.

Bought this sig a while back. Prime cc so far; put upwards of 400-500 rnds through so far. No double feeds, no misfiring.
The 365XL is perfect for me.
do you carry iwb? if so is it easy to conceal under Tshirt or button down casual shirt?
I am definitely sold on this pistol. The P365 already feels very comfortable in my hands even though it is a little small since I have large hands.
The XL isn't necessarily the "next generation" of the P365. It's just a larger version of the same generation gun. The first few production runs of the P365 had some issues in a small percentage of guns. Those have been corrected in later production runs.
Been carrying it since April 2020 and it's been flawless, with both xl grip and 365 grip and trl6.
Have you tried it with the Wilson Combat P365XL Grip Module?
I have one on mine and it made a huge difference for me
I own one, and overall I really like it but lately I've noticed that the sides of the grip are pretty smooth and my support hand tends to slip when shooting. I'm talking about the sides with the star burst texturing, for whatever reason they seem smooth and it's solely for that reason I've gone back to the OEM grip module. I compared the two grips and noticed I slip less with the OEM one

I haven't even found any distributors that can get it at the moment. 3.5-in barrel and a 12-round capacity with the flush fit mag but it's slightly thicker than the 365 XL.

I carry the p320 compact carry and I love it, but I'm a sig guy anyway. I love my 365xL but it does make you work harder for the good groups. When I picked up my friends 320xCarry I was able to hammer home groups on top of groups. Very funny interaction with the Mrs. I’ve been waiting for the jury on this gun. The original was just so small that I found my support thumb crazy close to muzzle (XL gloves are generally not long enough in fingers for me) in the stores and then the firing pin issues arose.
