    I have the XL with the romeo and added a flashlight. This was the first gun I bought for myself to carry. It is absolutely my favorite gun to shoot. I have had an adjustment time getting used to the red dot, mainly because of not ever having used one and astigmatism, but I am getting quicker with that with more practice. 100% best trigger of all my handguns, hands down! The one downfall for me was carrying it in my purse. With my accessories it was just too heavy, so I went on the hunt for my perfect purse gun. Excellent review!

    Appreciate your review. The part that sealed the deal on using it as regular carry was when you said 1K rounds w/o cleaning and it did well. I have been a Springfield carrier for 20 years, and wanted something lighter, and smaller. Just didn’t know if it was trustworthy or not. So far I got 200rnds thru it and so far so good. But it sure fits my Circus Midget hands way better than my XD9sc.

    Excellent review! Love my P365XL! Got it with the newer optics cut which keeps the original rear sight if the plate is removed. Dont have a red dot yet but maybe down the road I will get the new Romeo X.
    One of the selling points for me is the modularity of the 365 line up with the FCU. Being able to switch the grip module, slide, barrel, slide assembly and making it what ever configuration you want is awesome. Can go from the regular p365 size for pocket or ankle carry to Macro for more comfortable shooting. Want to get the Rose gold p365 for my wife at some point. Just need to get her to come to the range to see if she likes them. Want her to try out the 9mm and .380. Obviously have her shoot other micro compacts as well to see if she likes any other ones better.
    Again great review and thank you!

    Great review folks! I only have one Sig and that's the P229 (Custom Coyota finish) which I absolutely love but is too big for concealed. My concealed carrry, Ruger LCP Max, trigger pool just isn't comfortable to shoot. I was considering the P320 but wanted to know what the reviews indicated for the Sig 365 with optics. My hand measurements are very similar to yours, which was a VERY helpful part of your review and I will be ordering mine today thanks to your review. Well done!

    Great review. I had a chance to shoot the P365X for a third time last night (can't find a XL to test anywhere), along with several others that are on my short list to purchase for a carry gun. I REALLY WANT to LIKE this gun, because I'm a huge fan of SIGs, but every time I've shot it, I don't do well with it. I seem to have a problem with the trigger, and the trigger guard being too small for my finger. After going through 3 mags last night, my finger was red and sore from it being pinched between the trigger and the guard, and scraping against the trigger guard. I also felt the recoil of the gun being more hard and snappy then others in it's class. I also think the handle is too small for my hand and have a hard time wrapping my left support hand around comfortably and finding room for it (I don't have big hands either). As far as shooting it goes, I was not very accurate with it as I was with others. I did get a chance to shoot the P365 Macro and really liked that one, but unfortunately it's now illegal to own in my state, so I'm SOL on that one. I'm really disappointed as I want to buy this gun but don't think I will. I also shot the Springfield Hellcat Pro, Glock 43X, Canik MC9, S&W Shield Plus, Walther PDP F and the Taurus G2C. Out of all these I liked and did best with the Shield Plus and the Walther PDP F. I saw your review on the Shield Plus but was wondering if you have ever shot the PDP? Thanks for the great reviews!

    I just received my P365XL. I noticed in your video that the rear sight is attached to the optic plate, which means that the rear sight would not be in place with an optic. On the version of the XL that I received, the optic plate can be removed without removing the rear sight; the rear sight is drifted into the slide. My slide is more like P365-SPECTRE COMP only without the COMP.

      @@ReviewThisThing So far, so good with one issue and one non-issue. As far as fit to the hand, my hand is larger than yours with a measurement of 7 1/4-inches from the thumb to the tip of the middle finger and roughly 7-inches to the tip of the trigger finger. In short, I am pressing the support hand into the fingers of the shooting hand instead of the grip. This is the non-issue.
      I have been working through the issue of not being able to move the slide to the rear, if the trigger is held to the rear after pulling it (to perform a trigger reset check). It is really not an issue, but is a quirk of the design. The interference is caused by the trigger safety lever that pushes up the trigger safety button. The front lip of the trigger safety lever hits against the front of the trigger safety button well that it rides in, thus preventing the slide to move back unless a lot of force is applied to the slide. This is my best guess to what is causing the issue based on my observation of the trigger safety lever when pulling the trigger. When the trigger is fully forward, and the pistol is in full battery, the slide can be moved to the rear with little effort, with only the tension of the recoil spring and the barrel unlocking from the slide giving the most tension.
      As long as the trigger remains to the rear, the trigger safety lever with keep the trigger safety button pushed up. The tension by the trigger safety button's spring forces the trigger safety lever down when the trigger reaches its reset point and the pistol is in full battery.
      It is noted in the operator's manual to ensure that the trigger safety lever is down, otherwise, it will keep the slide from being fully installed onto the frame. That was my first clue. But on that note, I only needed to check the trigger reset
      I noticed that in your review you had no issue moving the slide to the rear for a trigger reset check, but you also have many, many more rounds through yours than I do mine.
      Under normal firing conditions, there is enough rearward force on the slide to force it past this hang up point and the hang-up would not even be noticed. I can only attribute this to the pistol being new and very few rounds have been put through it. Perhaps, after getting quite a few more rounds through it, parts will wear in.

  • @cliftonwhittaker260
    @cliftonwhittaker260 Рік тому

    Why did you run the entire review using the optional (extra cost) 15 round magazine? Mine came with two 12-round magazines. The 15-round magazine was available off the rack at extra cost. I'm transitioning from being a strictly revolver EDC (many years) to the XL. So far this thing does not fit my hand very well. If I put my trigger finger outside the trigger guard for safe carrying I have to look at it to see how to get my finger back on the trigger. It is not intuitive. My trigger finger rubs the bottom of the trigger guard making it harder to get off a steady dry fire snap. Either that, or my trigger finger goes all the way through the trigger guard and hits my support hand. I cannot reach either the magazine release or the slide release with my right (shooting) thumb without looking at the pistol and adjusting my grip. It is much easier to use my left hand for this. The slide is very hard for me to rack. I have to grip it in my left hand and push with my right hand. Pinch grip rack is almost impossible and I am not a weakling. The slide release is very difficult to operate from a position of having the slide locked back. Better to use two hands to release it. However, it is the easiest carrying pistol I've ever owned and I hope to overcome these problems with continued use. If not, I'll probably be looking for an EDC 1911 of some type since I do have some experience with one. Forgot to mention, I do wear size large gloves but my hands are slim.
