    Love your definition. I think it is important that such men understand themselves in the way you defined them. They need to be OK with women also making more more than them and that the expectation is their confidence, integrity, and security in themselves will lead to a compatible relationship

Respectful and kind. Confident without the arrogance. Plans for our future and encourages my aspirations while I do the same for him. Welcome back Lila Talks, your videos and commentary have been missed within the UA-cam sphere! I think this is an interesting topic and I am going to slightly change the term “High Value Man” to Good Man, as I feel High Value is subjective whereas Good Man is universal. Good Men should be self reflecting often on their actions, interactions and their overall value to the world.. Are they bringing positivity, and do their actions help make the world a better place, if they date, are they helping their significant other become better. Next I’d add account accountability, are they responsible for their actions and behaviors and willing to accept when they’ve missed the mark, and seek to be better in future endeavors. Lastly, the ability to have difficult conversations is becoming a rare art within our world. Ghosting and avoiding conversations are both mere symptoms of fear and avoidance vs taking the time to just speak your peace, even if that means momentarily hurting someone with the truth that they need. I didn’t mention money or success, because these qualities are exhibited by good human beings, and that’s the goal to me, to be a good resident of the planet.

      @@roybrown1097 yes, yes, and yes!!! Love your comments and I totally agree. A good man should be perceived as “high value”. Women should value these qualities you mentioned and men should aspire to achieve these characteristics. Too many times, I meet men who say they have to make a certain amount of money before working on themselves in these areas and I find that very sad. Because! These qualities would help their career or met their financial goals. Thanks for your thoughtfulness and warm welcome back! What other video subjects should I cover?

How they challenge your behaviors and actions while holding you accountable in ways maybe past partners haven’t. Cover the difficulties that presents to most as we are not typically used to being challenged towards betterment and aren’t usually positively responsive to such.

    I tend to agree with most of what you said. The value of a man for me personally does not depend on how much money he makes or what he can do for me, but the morals and values he lives his life with. The way he treats me, the level of respect he has for himself and the people around him, the way he holds himself and his determination are all key factors. Good talk LILA! ❤

    Our value systems are often shaped by our experience and, as a result, there will certainly be some women who value financial security (or something completely different like a partner’s faith for example) above many of the characteristics that you listed but, generally speaking, I think you hit the nail on the head in terms of identifying what most women would like to see in an admirable partner! Great video!!

    • @LilaTalks
      @LilaTalks  6 місяців тому +1

      @@emjay6108 thanks for sharing your thoughts and I agree. This is why I concluded with the video about knowing your own personal values and aligning them with your desired partner. There is nothing wrong with women seeking financial security, I just think it’s overly stated in society that a man MUST have money as the foundational quality woman need (which is a traditional model), and I think that alone it’s not guiding people towards a fulfilling and happy situation. People don’t realize that with lots of money often times comes with huge egos, power imbalance and other unwelcoming qualities. Again, whatever floats someone’s boat. Thanks for watching!

    I would agree that financial stability in itself is important. I would however also add that income levels do play a big role once you start thinking about raising a family. Does this include a house, how many children, does the woman want to take a break from her career for the early years? Do both parents work, and does that mean childcare or private schooling, depending on your location?
    I would fully agree with you as long as it is just a couple we're talking about.

    • @LilaTalks
      @LilaTalks  6 місяців тому

      Great points! I think the key to everything you mentioned is the emphasis on couple, partnership and unity. If you have the right partner, I believe the things you mentioned with be worked out with both parties understanding there will be give and take throughout the course of the relationship. Also, I want to mention that yes income may play a factor in the type of lifestyle you can offer your children, but I think the character development of your child is more important and sharing that task with a great partner to me is more important than the exposure money may provide a child. In my opinion, children just need love and security. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.

    As the saying goes, 'One person's trash is another person's treasure.' Similarly, there is no universal standard for a 'high-value man.' Your own self-worth and values significantly influence who you find attractive and desirable in a partner. By cultivating a deep sense of self-love and appreciation, you'll naturally attract and perceive relationships that align with your own internal standards. Ultimately, the men you consider 'high-value' are a reflection of the value you place on yourself.

    Hey am so glad I found your channel.
    I am a married (happily) woman with 3 kids. I am afraid Iam raising my children the way you were raised. White dominant area, sheltered by default, active in sports, christian kids going to private school. Though I like it to some degree, I do have some concerns for their future life. Looking at you, your confidence, not putting yourself in one culture ( just to fit in) reassured me that I am doing alright. However I could be wrong, for the issues I might cause emotionally. I really do not worry about not immersing them in Ethio- Eritrea upbringing. I want them to grow, feeling Americans with African roots.
    What do you advise parents 🤔 raising 1st generation childre ? Are you happy with the way you were raised, or would you rather be raised like some ...

    • @LilaTalks
      @LilaTalks  6 місяців тому

      @@tsionmekm1764 oh I love the way I was raised! I was exposed to so many cultures. I started traveling abroad at the age of 11 and it really shaped my perspective on the world. I didn’t really connect with my Habesha people until after college. I always had a deep set of Habesha values (respecting your elders, hospitality, etc), but the social aspect wasn’t there until I was older. I am very proud to be Ethiopian and Eritrean. I love giving back to my community when I can. I also appreciate my American mindset of being aggressive with my career, education and overall goals. I think it’s important to have a balance of cultures and never forget your roots because it fundamentally shapes you as a person. How do Ethiopian women feel about older men?

  • @tobtob7696
    @tobtob7696 6 місяців тому

    You are talking about what should be versus what is actually happening. Financial stability is subjective. All those attributes you mentioned mean nothing if she doesnt find you pysically attractive or if your income doesn't match what she deems as "financially stable". Say your minimum income requirement instead of beating around the bush. Anyone can be financially stable and responsible if they lived within their means lol.

    • @LilaTalks
      @LilaTalks  6 місяців тому

      Well, I hear you, but in my world these attributes I explain are not sure but are the reality for those seeking depth and meaning in relationships, not superficial check boxes that eventually leave women feeling lonely, unappreciated, and disappointed. To be fair, you are right, there are limits to how little someone can make or how unattractive they can be in order to be considered high value to some women. But the main point is that those things are not absolutely necessary or at the forefront when women with substance look for a partner. When it comes to the level of attractiveness or wealth a women's perspective evolves over the years through life and relationship experiences.
