- Many people are not familiar with Eritrea as a travel destination, but if you’re the type that wants to explore something new and different, off the beaten path, check out Asmara, Eritrea. This video gives you a glimpse of Asmara, Eritrea. In 2017, Asmara, the capital of Eritrea, was declared as a U NESS CO UNESCO World Heritage Site for its well-preserved historic architecture. Some things are well-documented tourist hot spots, but some are local favorite spots. #Eritrea #Travel #Adventure #travelvlog

@@LilaTalks How long did it take to get it?
Hello Lila, When you went to Eritrea did you have to get proof of a negative COVID PCR test before travel?
Asmera 🥰🇪🇷
🇪🇷♥️👏🥰
As an Eritrean, the capital and architecture is nothing to be proud of. A cruel and barbaric period that shouldn't be romanticised.
In addition, as an Eritrean, you should be cognizant of the fact that Eritrean identity itself is a legacy of that cruel and barbaric era and is therefore nothing to be proud of. And that our national identity can only be based on our ethnic (Habäsa) identity, which has nothing to do with Italian colonialism.
@@heruy8274 stating one doesn't negate the other. The way Italian colonialism is idealised and romanticised is bizarre, including by Eritreans themselves.
Hmmm this is what the western media deems the north Korea of Africa?? I wonder if has to do with the fact that Eritrea refused to bow down to the west and rather remained self sufficient
32 years of misery.
