- Corrour to Meanach Bothy and hill walking, Stob Ban.
A hike from Corrour Station to Meanach Bothy for a night away. We also climb Stob Ban, the Munro in the Grey Corries. In the bothy we chill out by the fire putting the world to rights over a dram or three.

Beautiful place for hiking, Thanks for posting
One of my favorite places.
Not been in any of the bothys yet but they look the dogs.
👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴
Same mate, I love getting the train to Corrour for some hiking. Loads of bothies to pick from too. 😎 👍🏻
Pretty cool to get into the hills by train!
It's a good feeling being dropped off in the middle of nowhere. You feel committed.
A great vid that Robin.
Cheers Gary. Hope you're well mate. 👍🏻
Nice place good little cabin. Thanks, SU, take care.
Thanks Quinn.
Superb scenery up there, wild, desolate but so beautiful (when you get the right weather). Lost bankcard, nightmare but man, he was so lucky to find that! Nice to find an empty bothy and the food and fire looked great, dancing, singing and music not so lol! Cheers Alan
Haha, cheers Alan. Aye the bothy was in a braw remote location. I was totally oblivious to Kev's dancing until I watched the footage. 😅
Aww Kev...brown trouser moment! lol Glad you recovered it! You gotta give us a shout out in your next film...nice watch as always guys! D&L :-)
Cheers. 👍🏼 Working on a blog with all my favourite UA-camrs. 😉
head to the Bothy, have a nice weekend in the country.
💯
Thanks for sharing your adventure. Scenic lanscape. Good choice of music! Bothies are okay but I prefer wild camping tbh. I've bookmarked this location for a future hike.
Nice one Rob. Another great trip away 🖒
Cheers mate, hopefully we pull of the next trip. 🤞🏼
Beautiful scenery. Makes me want to take up camping. Can't believe there is snow on the hill tops already. Good watch.
Great stuff.
I've never been to Staoineag bothy always on the other side of the river. Munro and bothy is a nice combo. There is an upstairs room you need ladders, it's right above as you walk in. Good vid.
Cheers Eddie, I thought I seen it with ladders/stairs either in your or Hermit's video? All boarded up now. Staoinaig is the nicer of the two bothies.
Nice trekking buddy beaut area i so love the bothys buddy nice share
Amazing! #naelogs 😂
Lol, that's a blast from the past. 😁
Thumbs up for that one. I'm new to your channel and really enjoyed that and the vibe. It was mellow especially in the Bothy with a bit of song. Couldn't ask for better alongside good weather. Take care. Mark
Cheers Mark and for the sub too. Looking forward to checking out your content.
A pleasure. It was a great vibe and happy to sub and explore more. I'm down South on the border with Wales but do a fair bit. ATB.
@@WyeExplorer I had a mini backpacking weekend in the Brecon Beacons two winters ago and really enjoyed it. Also done all the Welsh 3000ers, mostly in poor weather. 😁
2021 goals. X
You got plans heading out from Corrour?
@@WalkWithWallace I have no plan for now.. haha. I have an aim.. corrour..
@@kirstymckenzie8989 fingers crossed things improve in time for Spring. 🤞🏻
Nice one mate, a good wee trip lads..
Cheers fella. Hopefully see you in two weeks for a wild camp.
Should be fine matey ....
Great video Robin. Passed through that area many many times. Re the smoking in bothies? I saw the Facebook discussions but didn’t comment. As far as I’m concerned smoking in a confined public place is a big no no. For many reasons but the main one being consideration for others. I couldn’t believe the amount of people who were arguing in favour of it on Facebook. Some were even advocating taking drugs, both in the bothy and up on the summits. Unbelievable.
As a non smoker myself I totally agree. The boy who started the threads didn't present himself very well though.
Walk With Wallace: Wild camping yeah Mr Monk. He was ‘fuming’ by all accounts. If you pardon the pun. Perhaps he was shocked and that may have dictated his tone. Or maybe the smoker contested his complaint. I too am a non smoker but I wouldn’t relish the job of telling someone they can’t smoke. The fact that there is no law against it in a bothy makes no difference to me. It’s still a building and it’s still a public place. On another note, a guy once smoked in the wee bird hide up at Bavelaw. I’m sure you know it. I was photographing the wildlife but I let him get on with it to avoid confrontation. Just people being people I suppose.
Nice one, did you stay in room with wooden beds? I heard the open fire in that room is a bit smoky. I am lazy and would never go for another hillwalk after arriving to bothy. Well done, it had to be hard. I did it with a friend and dogs last winter but we went to Glen Nevis second day.
Aye, we got there first and put the beds out on the platform and nipped up Stob Ban. Not the best fireplace, but definitely not the worst either.
Tough place to go in winter if there's snow, the bog is bad enough.
Robin did you leave notice that you were going up the munro ? (asking only for this reason > only 1 sleeping platform)
great wee video btw
Cheers Billy. We didn't but we laid out our sleeping bags to bag our place. Haha. Nobody was there when we got back, two cyclists arrived at 10pm, but kept themselves to themselves in the next room.
Walk With Wallace: Wild camping ah nice one haha
