Great info guys. really enjoy your expertise on the product's. I have lived in Wa. my whole life.....60 years. High buck is coming. See you in Portland
The Aluxe six wall - tent lacks a double zipper, so I sewn one in myself. I use a poncho as a ground cover, combined with a hammock in case of bugs. Great tent, although I find pitching quite hard. It also takes quite some ground space, which means a longer search for the right camping spot. It's stormproof by the way, and the colder it gets, the more tuff the nylon fabric gets. Disadvantage: you can't use walking poles since it's too high.
Just ordered the Luxe 6person today, putting it to use in 2wks for Colorado elk hunt, I'll be running the Nico Alaskan Jr. Stove in it with 2 cots for my son and myself.
Hey guys, thanks for the review. I bought the Luxe last year and sadly after day four the sidewall ripped out(normal cond). The Company would not stand by their product, said I set it up wrong? Their tents do not use ripstop fabric ,68d polyester is not robust. I should have spent a little more for the Seek Outside which uses ripstop. Look at fabric and a company that has good customer service, not just pricepoint.
Sorry to hear that mate, although I’m sure the hexpeak and octapeak versions (as seen here) are indeed ripstop silicone nylon. I’m not sure what fabric they use on the mini peak. Was your tent one of the megahorn models?
Thanks for a great review guys!! Will definately buy the Cimarron with a stove. Gonna use it during winter, hunting capercallie and grouse. Live in Sweden, so I think it would be nice with the stove. Sometimes it gets down to negative 30°C during nights. A warm sleepingbag and lots of wood for the fire.. would do just fine..😀
I got the octopeak with snow skirt (1 door). Good tent I spent 14 days in the Canadian winter. I think it's more a 1-2 person with gear and personal space, plus stove and wood. I found with a 3w stove I wouldn't want to be out in it passed -15/-20 Celsius. I've slept warmer in a leen-too at -42.. stove is good but the material has its limitations with heat retention. Personally one thing I noticed with a stove one person would be closer then the other and Ina better heat zone Inside the tent. I took it down in a windstorm and I'm not sure if I could put it up in the wind alone..that is a down side. Things I wish It had..maybe a top net configuration to dry you cloves off or extra storage, same maybe a few connections inside to allow a string for hanging clothes or something with a little mesh bag. As mentioned in the video I'm not fond of the door..even if it was a few inches higher, I'm a bigger guy 6ft, kinda chubby and don't like to have to almost take a knee to enter.
Great video I actually bought the Mini peak but felt it was to small. I also bought the Octopeak and was very happy with the size. Can’t wait to get it out in the cold with my 3W stove.
I have a couple nights in the Minipeak solo. It is definitely spacious for a single guy with gear. Two guys with gear would be a little tight but it is a great packable tent, especially for the price point of $75 and uses a treking pole
Hi guys, does the Cimarron have a snow skirt? In the video it seems to be installed closer to the ground then the first one. Bang for Buck, which one would you recommend? Regards, Nic
Hey man, it really depends on the trip and how man people are going. If it’s 2 people I’d say cimmaron all day long, if your going with 3-4 guys I’d say the Luxe!
Better be sure to seam seal the Minipeak!! Instruction require you to, but who reads instructions!!? I didn’t and last year I regretted it!! Drip city!
Looking forward to watching the video later. I picked up the luxe hexpeak xl earlier this year with free liner. I'm debating on whether or not I'll pack the liner though...
I notice that the Luxe seems to not go all the way to the ground. I am looking to use one of the tipi's in a backcountry hunting in temps down to 20 or so. I want all that all to be blocked. What's your thoughts? May or may not use a stove. keeping my pack as light as possible.
Thanks for the video, definitely good info. I know you guys are just trying to make some side coin with the ads but they are a bit overkill. I find myself avoiding watching your video's sometimes because of all the adverts. Could you cut back on them a bit?
I am curious as watching this. I noticed the lux there is a gap at the bottom of the tent and with the seek there is not. Ia that because of pole placement or why is that , that way
I bought the same tent use it for back country hunts, but when I bought the tent Luxe had the inside tent for free, but after I bought my tent I saw this, when asking luxe about this they said to me, no go, you would of added this to your cart to be free, no Luxe buying for me now, and I will tell everyone about my story from luxe buy.
Wow…. That’s sad just read all of those comments on BBB. Noticed they turned comments off on their Instagram too… idk what happened to that company, net the owner in SLC back in 2018. Sad to see so many people getting ripped off. We’ll post about this on our socials. Thanks for the heads up
Put down some sleeping pads and bags to show space please

I have a sierra designs origami that is similar. I like the stove setup on these newer tents. Thanks for the review.

$75 ? You mean $189.00 Your welcome.
The website still says $75.
@@brandenbowie9967 My apologies, I was referring to the mini peak xl , my bad !
@@MeetMeOutside No worries man!
You dont run liners in the PNW on these? I run the Redcliff but have always run it with the liner because of our weather.

Outstanding video- I use the Luxe Twinpeak- big tent
Love my Cimmeron
They are great?
Why such huge air gaps at the bottoms,?,, Seems it would let in tons of cold air...
Definitley would. We just set the shelters up for video purposes.
New into backcountry hunting-hiking and I am lost on what shelter to get after!
Go seek outside. Read reviews on luxe, it is chinese crap. Check rokslide forum about luxe. Buy the seek and support american
The cimmoron light with a large stove is your best bet. Good luck
Fun stuff, best of luck out there.

That’s UA-cam doing the ads not them
Is that the minipeak or minipeak xl? Some of the specs provided match the mini while others the xl.
good
Very good

I think it’s to prevent condensation with air flow.
They have an optional snow skirt you can add for a cheap price
Which seek outside pole did you use for the luxe?
Love the videos but the massage parlor music has to go! Lol
Hahah notes! Thanks for the feedback
killer content though guys! Love the podcasts and videos
Thanks man! I’ll find some new background music next video! Haha appreciate it!
PNWild just giving you a hard time!
Haha. Agreed. No background music please! But LOVING the vids!

Weird my octopeak has 1 door. Edit. I just looked why. If you have snow skirts you only get 1 door lol
Haha
Check Better Business Bureau before buying from Luxe Hiking Gear.

Luxe!
Nice overview and space demo, but hardly in depth. No mention of weatherproofness, build quality, packed size demo, or accessories.
Redcliff!?
