Brady, please do a bag dump / back country gear video that includes your favorite shelter soon. I was drawn in AZ this year for archery elk and I want to see what you would bring on your BC hunt this fall.
Thank you Brady for the great information, now I just have to decide what one is going to work for me. I really like floors to keep bugs out. Great Job Brady God's Blessings
@@markthompson2502 i would assume without the floor it would be colder. I am looking into the tub and be able to decide for or against depending on the situation.
While I expect and understand the inherent bias as you sell all of these, a gear review generally includes cons or some form of rating. This is a highlight reel of all the tents, this is not a review.
Great quick look at these shelters! Hyperlite is my favorite! You touched on nylon/ sil-nylon in the beginning. The Peax is sil-nylon and is great, however that is why it has so many more guy-outs. That wet sil-nylon sag they are trying to combat. Seek is a nice no-straight forward shelter w/stove jack, might be the next one to check out! Cheers-southwest Michigan.
I have a 15 year old Kifaru 4 man Teepee. I have never had a problem with it and it has some features that these dont. My stove is quite old and warped. But, it still functions and is light enough to pack. I did however like the stakes as the ones i have suck. Most are broken and i filed them to keep using them. I am looking at the ones he recommended now.
Bit confused about that single guyout on the peak solitude, being pulled like that being for wind stability, when it raises the side nearly 8 inches off the ground, making the tent a sail in that theoretical wind...
For the Argali, when you give the weight in "stove jack mode" is the extra weight just from the stove itself or is it from other add ons you have to include? Just confused because that was the only model where you provided separate weights for different modes.
The difference in weight is simply the ability to zip in and out the stove pipe insert. In that spot you can have just the outer cover, stove pipe insert, or both at the same time. Obviously you’d take off the outer cover when running the stove. If not planning to run the stove, you don’t need to carry the stove pipe insert if you don’t want to. It’s like 2-3oz savings. Awesome tent!
The only one I would consider is the one that actually includes the pole. At these prices for a piece of nylon with a couple of zipers, a flap for a stove pipe, and some loops for tent stakes, it's ridiculous that the pole wouldn't be included.
Can anyone help me out and rank these? I am interested to hear what you guys think and what you run. I am upgrading from a msr hubba hubba. It’s been a great tent but trying to save space and weight.
MLD makes good mids…I don’t see anyone in the hunting industry using them. People swear by them in the heavy wind country of Northern Europe. They have been doing them longer than all of these companies and make a super sturdy light mid.
I have one. Works great. 2 doors and sets up just like the Cimarron. The stove jack doesn't sit up as high. But if you pair it with their stoves, you should have a tall enough pipe it doesn't really matter.
Not sure why you’re describing these shelters as “4-person“?! I can’t imagine having 4 guys in one of these tents-especially if they have gear! Regardless of what the marketing says these are max 3 person or comfortable 2person tents!
Primary for use with a stove. I do not see much point if you're not using a stove. But as far as rain goes, as long as you're not set up in a depression where the rain will run off through, it's really not much of a problem.

Good job. Love my Seek Outside shelters!
Hard to beat American made Seek Outside quality. Great video!
That Peax shelter is siiiick
So, Brady, since they’re all bombproof and wonderful, which would you choose?

Thank you Perry, if there's anything we can do to help let us know!
I have the argali and absolutely love it.
I am also looking into the argali. Would you say there are any issues or draw backs at all?
How does it deal with colder temps without the stove?

I'm curious what you guys think of the Big Agnes gold camp pyramid tents? It seems like another contender.
Would love us stove review for those tents
Thank you for the input! This has been passed on to our content team 💪
Yeah baby review some stoves!
No usecof orctest of the MSR Front Range or is it too small? Great review btw!
Have you guys heard or done a review on back country lite tents ? They look like decent tents
17:55 are you 7'3 or is the height not actually 6' for this shelter??
Take a shot when a Great Feature is pointed out on any tent.

How is it 6’-2” tall when it doesn’t come up to your shoulders? Are you over 7’ tall?
Thanx
Great comparison!
Great video...I'll stick w my Kifaru Sawtooth

You're already carrying two poles per person, why not use a few of them to pitch the tent? No point to carrying extra stuff

Has anyone run the Peax with three people? I’m between Peax and Argali

Anyone try the luxe tents?

That Argali is definitely not a 4-person tent
I want one with floors (I apologize for this troll)
Dude you must be atleast 6' 8" tall wtf
Why floor less? If it rains the rain can get in right... You can get a floor for very minimal weight savings.
Primary for use with a stove. I do not see much point if you're not using a stove. But as far as rain goes, as long as you're not set up in a depression where the rain will run off through, it's really not much of a problem.
Also you can build a trench and water will not come in if your set up on a slope
How fucking tall are you? You said the first tent had a height of 6'2" and you were exploding threw it. What are you like 7.5 feet tall?!
Ahhhh. Your 6'5". No way that tents max height was 6'2". I'm 6'3" so heights a big selling point for me.
I think relying on a stove lieu of insulation is bad practice.
What are you refering to?
suprised the backscreen for the video didn't lie this time
