First time at your page, and I'm loving your videos. I have every Yakuza game on Steam, have them installed, and you may have convinced me to finally make the jump. As for XCOM, I'm with you but don't tell my friends. lol They hang the moon on that game series.
The yakuza games are fantastic. Very heavy on story and I think they are only in Japanese so you have to read subtitles. The game play is so fun and the side missions are so funny sometimes. Start with yakuza 0
So glad you answered these! Oh geez, we have GOT to play Astro Bot; we hear nothing but good things. Games as problem-solving teacher is a spot on. Ugh--that need to free up space with modern games is a killer; even WITH externals, it's like it's never enough. Figuring up how much is spent on games really goes out the window when a convention needs to be considered. Ha ha These questions, making the rounds, show how much nostalgia people have for the 90s MK film and I love seeing that. Again, thanks so much for answering these; these videos really have been a lot of fun to watch and to get to know people a little better!!
It was fun answering these questions for sure! Astro bot is great and doesn't take very long to play through. It's a great play a little then put down type
Love that you answered these Sam. Honestly thought your answer for your least favorite genre or video games was going to be horror for sure 😂😂 I guess then you're telling me there's still hope 😊
Awesome seeing you take part in this! 2D platformers are the best! The snes is definitely one of the greatest consoles of all time! There's so many people who enjoyed the mortal kombat movie from the 90s rightfully so, such a great movie! I would call Xcom a strategy shooter and its not for me either. I enjoyed the video!
The og X-Com/UFO from the 90s is one of my favourite games :) I would say the genre is turn based tactics/strategy, like Jagged Alliance, Gears of War Tactics or Wasteland 3.
That was an interesting video, I like the way you tackle these type of questions from a psychological aspect. I would say, lean in to that idea, you’re doing good Samantha.
I remember buying my PS4, getting it home at like noon, hooking it up and then seeing how long it was going to take to set up. My internet was awful at the time and it was going to take several hours. Went to work, got home and the system was ready to play, put in a game and realized that nope it was now going to be hours before I’d even be able to play the game.
Why didnt you just skip the update, install the game, and then do that whole process overnight while you were asleep instead? And since when does a disc install take hours, unless you were waiting for the disc to update? You should've skipped all the updates, played, and initiated them overnight.
A lot of these responses make me feel like I buy too many games! LOL I was very happy someone else was close to our time allocation. Life is so busy. It's tough to find time to play. Unless I play a game with the kids.
Those turn based strategy games like advance wars can be amazing, but funnily enough that game Xcom was one that I tried and gave up after a short while too, so the point is, some of the most memorable game experiences I’ve had have been with that style of game, (including that Mario Rabbids game) and so I wouldn’t tar them all with xcom’s brush. Maybe we just have to find the right mood for Xcom though…
For Modern gaming I would suggest the Nintendo Switch. Put in a Physical Copy of the game & it will install within 1 min on avg. So even if you take off the games it won't matter. I used to play PS4 games both physically & digitally. I don't like the fact that I have to wait anywhere from 30 min to about 3 hours depending on how large the file of the game is.
I feel the same about modern gaming, I can't stand all of the updates and installs. I have a small collection of modern games and I rarely play them. I play games mostly from the seventh generation and older I definitely prefer them.
The updates are crappy for sure. I don't play as much as I want to but, sometimes I do find some time and generally unless I play retro I have to wait for the download. No fun.
Great answers. Definitely fun to see how everyone has been answering these questions.
It was a lot of fun to make
Absolutely agree that they can be educational.

Good stuff Samantha......can't argue with most of your answers.👍
Thanks!

And I did...and Yakuza 0 is pure magic.
@@samanthaazira i failed the first karaoke and love how it didn't end the game. They just relentlessly make fun of your skills. Lol
@@HankChinaski27 I love all the side content like that. The slot car race story line was one of my favorites

@@RetroRivals I'm working on it lol
I really enjoy this series going around. Just good to see that not everyone gets to play games all the time haha.
I have some good weeks but not often lol

Thanks for checking it out! Definitely can't go wrong with 2d platformers.

Gears of war is on my to play list so maybe something will change for me

Awesome responses, Sam! For #4, I believe it was: What do you like about video games. At least that's what I copied from someone who did this, lol.

@@dapperfan44 I’d totally do that now but then I didn’t know how it all worked.
That's so frustrating... and I totally get it as it has happened to more times than I would like

Well if we are being honest I'm not good about tracking my spending so it could be more... in fact in the last few months it's been bad lol
Love the SNES too and the N64. Great choices!
Thanks!

Yeah the switch seems to be the in between where it's almost the best of modern gaming without the modern gaming problems.
90’s Mortal Kombat movie is classic! It’s not a great classic but it’s a classic!
I love it for what it is 😆
I feel the same about modern gaming, I can't stand all of the updates and installs. I have a small collection of modern games and I rarely play them. I play games mostly from the seventh generation and older I definitely prefer them.
Yea the updates kill me everytime... how much time do they think us grown gamers have 😆

Yeah it really sucks when it eats into what little time you have to game
