Just purchased my V15 to go with our Deebot N8 Pro robot vac (tile floors with area rugs). Amazing how much dust/dirt you get every time you vac with the V15. Got it mostly for spot cleaning, high traffic areas, stairs, microfiber couch/chairs, and areas not programmed with the robot vac like closets. I find myself using the V15 before sun up in the dark just to see the laser in action. I wish it came with the flex hose, trigger lock, and some type of shoulder strap for to make it easier for blinds, window sills, in a vehicle, or dusting items on a shelf. I used the V15 on our 3 year old tempurpedic mattress and again surprised how much it picked up.
I bought the Dyson last week from Costco and returned it today. I bought it as a primary vacuum which based on the price and reviews I thought great. Make my job easier and cleaner. First off it is heavy as all the weight is located at the top of the vacum which you hold with one hand and keep your fingers on the on trigger otherwise it shuts off. On carpets of decent pile its hard to push and since the head is small it takes more swipes to clean an area. Other types of flooring it does a fine job. Forget it if you have wall to wall carpeting. If you are a female you will no appreciate holding the entire weight of the vac inn one hand
My dysonv11 animal has been like 5 years; only once malfunctioned, and the cord got fixed free. I am buying the v15 detect absolute now. And the Dyson hair dryer is also 5 years old, planning to replace it on Black Friday.
Review very well thought through. I really appreciate effort. I am sold on it, but still older roidme is in acceptable condition. Time will come for v15. Also I have Dyson cinetic ball animal for deep cleaning once in a while, so I know what to expect in terms of quality.
Hello. I have been using Dyson for 13 months and it is really used intensively, there is not a single part that looks like new... What you can see in the video is not intensively used... Mine has the following defects: there is a strong movement in the place where the tube attaches to the body, the hinge of the rotating brush is falling out. The dealer from whom I bought it does not accept defects at the expense of the warranty. Dayson should pay more attention to traders! But yes, I agree that this is the best cordless vacuum cleaner I've had...
i have the gen5 since july 2023 they changed all the motor body because all the sealent around the cyclons went away buy it self i only use it never falled nothing crazy, now after 6 months it start from 1 cyclon to came away again... my sister have the v11 and the sealing not caming out since 5 years and is perfect cutted in the v15 and gen5 is a little bit out since new and once it touch something cames out... but the way i will call again them and see if they change it again and this time with the right color because they don't have my gold colour and sended me the parple one so now i have 3 crazy color i don't like it... and if they send me ok if not any way once it broke i will trough it away and never more dyson in my life the first and the last one. it allways became full of dust inside the cyclons and there's no way to clean them just shacking out while like samsung and much other just take away the cyclons part and can wash them perfectly. dyson is very poor expensive plastic, it took 6 months to me waiting that the gen5 came in italy and a lot of peoples say that and i did wanted to buy any way, they was right expensive chip plastic that's what it is.
I definitely use a cordless vacuum on a daily basis I have a older corded Shark vacuum that I use for the basement it’s my back up if I have issues with my cordless vacuum which I don’t have
on my V12 the rear soft filter gets full of dust very quick. I also think that the accus are the biggest problem. when switching to the max mode of the V12 it is 5 (!) times that strong giving a lot of stress to the cells and short 8 minutes of run time.
Thanks for your review! I just bought one of these. It's charging right now. I have carpets and hard floors. Couple of questions: 1) Will I ever have to buy a new HEPA filter? 2) Is the hard floor attachment washable? 3) Will I have to worry about hair wrapping around the hard floor attachment? I love Dyson. My old vacuum was a DC17 Animal vacuum. It was 16 years old and was working great, but it was corded and 22.5 lbs. I'm looking forward to going cordless and the V15 Detect is much lighter.
1. You shouldn't need a new hepa filter if you wash it at least once a month. 2. The fluffy soft roller is washable. I wash mine every few months. 3. Long hair can get stuck on the soft roller. But it's easy to clean.
I just used my Dyson V15 purchased from QVC with a dok with 5 tools at a great price. I live in small apartment with two cats. I love the way it cleans but the one drawback is emptying the cannister without having the content spilling out onto the clean hardwood floors. so far I find it to be a challenge.
Hello! Really good video, i purchased V11 absolute like 2 weeks ago almost 3 , im pretty satisfied even tough there pros and cons 😄 i just hope it will last me more than one year , like 3 years or more +++ , i love the one for carpets its takes so well dust and hard floor as well, its perfect for those who have allergies to dust or any others.
That dust is crazy. Do you have a method ...do you begin up high and move lower or doesn't it matter? Do the attachments keep enough inside and not miss it? Have you checked this with the laser...if dust isnt falling? Do you recommend a full cleaning weekly? Or more often?
i am racking my brain trying to choose a Dyson stick vacuum...narrowed it down to Gen5 outsize 1399 / Gen5 1199 / V15 detect 999 thats in canadian funds........i notice online there are less attachments available to the Gen5 line compared to the V15....the cleaning kit is wanted but only the V15 can get it between the 3 vacuums i am pondering.....we are 58 years old with aging joints...lol..plus we have a dog....wanna use it for house and car...mostly hardwood floors except one room plus there are various area rugs.....the 2 floors are a total of about 2500 sq ft....at the end of the day i would also like an extra battery...honestly which would you recommend ?....we also thought about the V12 but the storage bin seems pretty small plus we would like more power or do we need it ?....thx for your reviews....cheers from Canada
Great review! Almost sold on the v15 but...do I have to keep switching heads when I go from laminate to area rug, then back to laminate? Do you carry the second head as you vacuum? Thanks!
Is the V15 recommended as a stand alone vacuum for a 3 bed 1400 sq ft. house or is a canister better? I like the ability to change to a handheld for the car too
In the USA. The absolute model has better filtration, a built in crevice tool, low reach adapter and mattress tool. The regular v15 doesn't have those.
Our city in Arizona allows metal, number 1 or 2 plastics and clean paper products to be recycled. Glass, plastics that are not a 1 or 2 like 5 or 7 are not recycled. Shredded paper can't be recycled neither can paper with wax can't be recycled either.
In the intro @00:10 when the unit is attached to base station for charge you seem to have a tool that holds all the accessories. Did that come with packaging or you had to buy separately? Im from Netherlands who bought v15 couple of weeks ago and didn't get that. Also laser can't be switched off because of no manual switch. :(
@@crazylegend87 I think the V15 fluffy head design for different markets are all the same. The laser on/off switch is a manual switch green in color located on the top of the brush head, and not on the LCD control unit.
My mind was blown after running Boost Mode on my living room area rug. I have a Roborock S7 that runs every few days, and I also go over the rug with an old vacuum as well to get the dog hair out. But daaaaang, the v15 bin filled up within seconds lol tons of dirt and dog hair. Great investment, if it doesn't break within the year lol
My battery is not lasting long. I set up a timer, and on the vaccum said i had 73mi. And on my phone timer i only got 31min before it died. And thats on the eco mode. For some reasom i only get 37min o. Medium mode and it dies so quick.
Would you say that the v11 is just as good as the v15 minus the sensor that detects what you pick up and minus the laser head because from what I see the v11 can actually work with the laser head even though they advertise not compatible. Other than that would you say they r a identical machine? Bcuz I got v11 and it came with all the new attatchments like screw took light crevice tool and stuff. So I pretty much have even but the 2nd laser head but I see that the v11 is capable so tell me your opinion on that
Selam. 🙂 Ben v15 kullanıyorum. Lazer kafası çok gerekli değil, çünkü tozlar yine gelecektir. v8, v10, v11, v12 yeterlidir. v15 daha güçlü olduğu için aldım.
I will agree with the first poster. Absolute garbage. 6 months in v15 main body done. Motor shuts off after 3 seconds. Never dropped or abused. We use our central vac 95% of the time. It has 10 hrs on it maybe at best. On the phone with Dyson for 3hrs. Then had to do a silly video face time thing. They confirm main body is defective. Quick google search you see it's a common issue. Dyson wanted me to stay on a wait list with no eta for a main body. Had to fight to get a new one. I sent the old one back and waited two weeks to get my new one yesterday.......opened out of the box and the foam gasket sealing cyclone is protruding so much the unit is leaking air (low suction) . Haven't called them yet , but easily the crappiest vaccum I've had!!! Biggest regret of 2024 for our family is buying a Dyson!!!
Do you have any problem with dirt and hair getting past the rubber gasket in the canister where it's not supposed to go? I feel like I constantly do even when it's nowhere near the Max fill line.
I do absolutely love the green light but it makes me want to clean all the time. Because even though I vacuum every day, after about 10 minutes if I look at my floor with the green light filter on them, they are gross again. I wish it was on all of the vacuum heads tho.
