The laser isn't on the standard head because it's made for hard floors. The laser sits 0.7mm off the ground to highlight anything sitting on the ground. It just simply wouldn't work on carpet.
I loved how you @9:00 proved that the laser is relatively useless in daylight :D. Hence I won´t need Dyson V15. I think the V11 has all you need for an efficient cleaning.
If you have larger opening at the front, its good for large debris pickup but compromises deep cleaning of fine particle, and having those gates shut which is gives you the option to do, will redress that balance, but that's why the fluffy exists, although tbh, I have never, ever had to pick up cereal sized spills. You would sooner use the wand to collect them all in practice.
17 minutes.. lol it takes a hour or more to do downstairs and upstairs well 🤔 is it a luxury duster than or something? for when something is spilled but not for a good vacuum clean session?
@Jojo Moa I got the rowenta air force and that one is pretty good. can vacuum decently the whole house. Dutch common houses aren't big as usually in America so for me it's sufficient. on eco it's good enough for hard floors and boost for flat fabric services and thick carpet the turbo. if I switch between the eco and boost it's good enough for several rounds of entire house.
@Jojo Moa It's not true. You can clean the same areas in much less time with this vacuum. The ease of use and maneuverability help speed you along. Use on of these for any length of time and a corded machine will drive you crazy, afterward.

I will say that the dyson ball cinetic (our 2011) is much more of a pain to clean anything on. The filters are inaccessible, which sucks, but they have made improvements as far as things like that go in the past decade
so the battery is so bad you need a way to detect if you can go slower than full speed ?? why not just but a normal one with a power cable and rund it full speed ?
Hi Vanessa. Does it work on plush carpet? I keep watching reviews and seeing videos of people who can’t even push it across the carpet and also leaving lots of debris behind on wood floors. Which one do you have?
Wait why is the V15 so cheap in the US? It’s the equivalent of $966 USD in Australia. You not counting the tax? Also, just an FYI, it’s a hair trigger so you don’t need to fully press it, makes it less tiring. Additionally, for the best cleaning performance leave the front gate on the middle setting unless on low pile carpet, it spins better so does a better job digging dirt out usually
I honestly don’t understand the appeal of robot vac’s. Just simply based upon physics, they are not big enough physically to contain a big enough motor that can be effective on carpet. And that’s just the motor, design and seal against the floor are other ones. Robot vacs only seem to be good enough for bigger stuff like crumbs but even on hard wood floors, my iRobot struggled a lot. I didn’t realize how much my robot vaccs were missing until I got the V15. Dyson’s are worth the price. Great review 👍🏽.
Honestly the v15 is so worth it I got up so much fine dirt with the gate all the way closed in my sister’s bedroom and i only just cleaned my sister’s bedroom and honestly I like the dyson a lot
It’s excellent but too heavy compared to the V10 absolute. The heavy suction makes it’s much harder to push along the carpet. If you have lino or hard floors get the V10 absolute as it’ll do the same job easily, but if you have carpet & animals then get this heavy duty bad boy.
I had my doubts when I purchased my V15 at full retail price (plus an extended 5-year warranty), but having the convenience of switching to a well-engineered cordless design really makes it feel like less of a chore to do regular vacuuming. The performance is quite impressive. The battery on auto mode is sufficient enough to thoroughly clean my 1,200 square foot carpeted home with ease (including stairs), with a remaining 5-8 minutes of headroom. It felt crazy at first trying to rationalize spending so much money on a vacuum, but now my floors are as clean as they have ever been. So I’d say it’s worth the investment.
Just wanted to make people aware that I recently bought the V15 Detect Absolute and the stated battery time of 60 minutes is an approximation for Eco mode only. The Auto (medium) setting gives battery life of just over 36 minutes with any tool not requiring power and about 7 minutes in Turbo mode. I bought an additional battery and both give the same results when fully charged. I also confirmed these times by speaking direct to Dyson customer services today 30/12/21
With this in mind, do you think the V15 Detect Absolute is still worth its price? Trying to decide if it's worth getting for a 1300 sq ft home with wood flooring and the occasional floor rug. Or if I should get the V10 or V8 instead.
5:00 simply use mode Auto and vacuum everyday. considering also the large space, you might be better off doing one straight pass with some overlap like plowing a huge farm land,
Funny at the mid/end part of the video, when he is whispering after vacuuming to not wake up the others or for whatever reason. Is the vacuum cleaner really more silent than your voice?
When you test the laser, you need to pull it back over the clean part, so it illuminates it again and we can see and compare how much it cleaned. Right now we’re only seeing the before but not really the after, which is not very valuable.
I've had the Dyson V10 Animal since March of 2018 for $700 I believe.. it's worked great. Battery on medium will clean my whole house 1000sqft 15-20minutes.. but if I vacuum my 14x12 rug in the living room on boost it won't last long, maybe 8-10 minutes. It definitely picks up good. The only other thing is the filter on the back is annoying to clean.
@@zureai Yeah.. I think I paid about that back in 2018.. gave it to my parents when I got the v15.. and the v15 was very similar, a bit better and substantial better battery life.
how about leaking dust test ? could you do a dust test where u vacuum clean and come back after 1-4 weeks to see if there is a dust build up in that room/ area ?
I have had a Dyson Animal Canister for several years. The first canister I have ever had and in general do not like it. It has good suction and I like the self winding cord. What I do not like is it has no light and the pet hair gets wound in the brush. It was supposed to be for picking up pet hair. Plus the handle broke after a few years due to lifting it constantly. I am thinking of a cordless like this one, but I am glad I watched your video because I didn't know the main brush attachment had no light, I am disappointed to find that you have to hold the power button the entire time and I am not happy with the short battery life. Not sure if it is worth the $$ due to Dyson not going the extra mile to make this vacuum better.
The trigger is genius. If you need to turn it off for a second, just let the trigger go. It's not constantly on, wasting battery life. Hopefully, they keep the trigger forever.
People who complain about the low battery life have to understand that most vaccum cleaners (the normal ones) run at around 1500 to 2500 Watts (at the highest setting). So even on medium settings, you easily run at 1000 Watts. Expecting hours worth of battery life out of a vaccum cleaner that can compete with normal cleaners is just not realistic. Especially if you have to carry that huge battery pack in your hand. I believe if you have larger areas to clean, you should always pick a cabled vaccum cleaner anyways and not a battery powered one.
Also Dysons are comoletely sealed which means NOTHING even nôt the dust particules goes out of the vacuum. Which is unique as Well - you got cleaner air than before vacuuming.
I feel like after you deep clean everything like that...just a quick pass on everything every other day would be good enough and the battery life would no longer be an issue.
Yeah the feather touch trigger is NECESSARY to achieve long battery life and not running the motor when moving furniture etc. Also, it is HIGHLY unusual to have wall to wall carpets. That trend was over when we got into the new millennium here in Europe... Apparently america is old school. On hard floors the Dyson doesn't need much suction to get a perfect result, and a carpet here and there under a table etc doesn't reduce battery life like a wall to wall carpet would. But again, since it's not normal in Europe I guess they predicted 80 percent hard floor vacuuming and the remaining 20 percent carpeted floors with higher suction would not drain the battery as noticably as in your case...
How is the build quality? I have heard the dysons of these days have cheaper feeling plastics and not as good/sturdy as they used to be known for. Can you comment?
For such expensive vacuums, the battery life is a deal breaker for me. After my last Dyson, I won’t be back. When you said the battery is a “wish list item” on a almost $800 vacuum, that’s a no for me.
Very good video. Very helpful. BTW the additional particles you pick up on the carpet could very well be the carpet itself. Meaning that the dyson is probably "eating" the carpet and not actually picking up additional "useful" particles. Does it pick up much more particles on hard floors than the robots? I am quite curious.
I’ve been in the market for a while now trying to figure out which one is worth the money. I’ve read both good and bad reviews. Curious on its’ longevity. How well will this vac hold up?
I have had my dyson for 10 years and it still works... my mom goes through 1-2 cheapo brands a year! I believe mine has paid for itself multiple times.

Robot vacuums and cordless vacuum shouldn't be a replacement for corded vacuum. That Dyson is nice but for $700, I'm not sure it's worth it. Though that fluffy laser head is oddly satisfying to watch.
I purchased the dyson detect and although the suction is great I’m very disappointed that on my carpets it’s impossible to use in auto mode as it clamps down and then cuts out. I have tried to adjust the gates but it just won’t work unless I move to eco mode. This seems rather pointless if you’re looking for a better clean .

Just purchased the V15 to help out the Deebot N8 Pro robot vac. The V15 really helps with stairs, corners, closets, fabric furniture, window sill/blinds, and parts of the floor the robot vac can't reach. Spot cleaning and deep cleaning of high traffic areas are excellent.
@@salvationbygracethroughfaith It is only stupid to you if you don't have a need for the V15 or you trying to make yourself feel better by making other feel worse because you can't afford it. I'm pretty sure there are things around your home, parked in your garage, or other life decisions others would call "plain stupid" sitting on their high horse next you yours.
Just got mine the other day. V7 animal was my current one, I cleaned a 10x7 rug a few passes with the v7 then did a few passes on the v15 both highest settings and the v15 picked up so much little dust particles, I was super amazed.
Coming from the v7, I’d have to say the v15 is well worth the $$, for me at least. V7 was just “ok” but if you want that deeper clean then v15 is just awesome.
I never thought I’d ever be so excited for a vacuum lol. I already commented on another channel about the v15 🤦🏻♂️😆
same ! i got my first Dyson and cordless wacuum , not the V15 ofc but i own the V11 absolute it's such a good one !! i also comment on others chanel's about that Lol
The laser isn't on the standard head because it's made for hard floors. The laser sits 0.7mm off the ground to highlight anything sitting on the ground. It just simply wouldn't work on carpet.
Do you know if the v15 has some sort of protection from over charging when being left charging overnight. Would it damage the lifespan of the battery
Yes. It caps out and stops when it's full. Dyson did a bunch of testing with that to make it work
Ovi
I loved how you @9:00 proved that the laser is relatively useless in daylight :D. Hence I won´t need Dyson V15. I think the V11 has all you need for an efficient cleaning.
It's more visible in person, unless you are right under a window.
Compromise deep cleaning fine particles. Woah. Exactly my thought when watching it on slow motion. Holy smokes.
You vacuum for over an hour?!?! Your house is far bigger than mine....
@@cathiehealey4608 100 year old house lot of dust and 2 dogs it takes longer to vacuum clean the whole house every corner and under the furniture 😊😉 a little going over it 10 minutes downstairs
@@BrendaArtist LOL I think the square footage is the biggest difference....you could fill my place from head to toe with shedding dogs, there's no way it could take more than 30 minutes to vacuum the lot.
My Dyson Ball from 2011 just died and while cordless seems cool and the way to go, battery life on these seems to be a deal-killer.
It's really not if you vacuum regularly. I adjusted too it quickly. So easy to grab and go right quick.
We have a ball from 2011 and 2020! We use both interchangabely because different parts have broken over time. We’re fixing them next week with some new parts, but they still work really well!
I absolutely love my Dyson. I use it everyday and I’m amazed at home much dust particles it picks up. Totally worth it!
Hi Vanessa. Does it work on plush carpet? I keep watching reviews and seeing videos of people who can’t even push it across the carpet and also leaving lots of debris behind on wood floors. Which one do you have?
@@carmenrenee5146i think, if the carpets it's too thick it might not vaccuum, but if it's thin it's okay, my carpets are thin so i have no problem
Your shaky cams are killing me.
For $700 you can get a Sebo Felix that will blow this away. Not that the Dyson is a bad vacuum but for $700 they need to offer a better warranty
Nice video. Quick question: what color do you have in your house? I think it is the entrance. It is so pretty. It is like a grayish tone.
I think it's called Agreeable Gray by Sherwin-Williams
Wait why is the V15 so cheap in the US? It’s the equivalent of $966 USD in Australia. You not counting the tax?
Also, just an FYI, it’s a hair trigger so you don’t need to fully press it, makes it less tiring. Additionally, for the best cleaning performance leave the front gate on the middle setting unless on low pile carpet, it spins better so does a better job digging dirt out usually
I wanted to cry when you said 966 usd in australia. duse 7.000 TL in turkey :(
@@merve7466 bro you live in the third world, these things are only for rich people in your country or middle class in the first world
@@ElmachitoSilbateador hahahshs I think if Turkey was a 3rd world country, every move would not bother the European states so much.
Yeah close to $1500 in Australia. Yikes. Happy to make do with my v6 which I paid $200 for.
My first gen V6 is a better vac than many corded vacs. Just rebuilt mine after some 7 years of reliable use.
What do people mean when they say "rebuild" these Dyson vacuums? Do you do it yourself? Send it back to Dyson to rebuild at a cost if out of warranty?
I honestly don’t understand the appeal of robot vac’s. Just simply based upon physics, they are not big enough physically to contain a big enough motor that can be effective on carpet. And that’s just the motor, design and seal against the floor are other ones. Robot vacs only seem to be good enough for bigger stuff like crumbs but even on hard wood floors, my iRobot struggled a lot. I didn’t realize how much my robot vaccs were missing until I got the V15. Dyson’s are worth the price. Great review 👍🏽.
20 min of vacuum time is fine. I don’t wanna vacuum longer then that lol
Honestly the v15 is so worth it I got up so much fine dirt with the gate all the way closed in my sister’s bedroom and i only just cleaned my sister’s bedroom and honestly I like the dyson a lot
Dyson clearly has the best............"..............."..."...........marketing. Better be good for 700. Now I’ll watch.
It’s excellent but too heavy compared to the V10 absolute. The heavy suction makes it’s much harder to push along the carpet. If you have lino or hard floors get the V10 absolute as it’ll do the same job easily, but if you have carpet & animals then get this heavy duty bad boy.
Thank you :) I just bought the v15 and you’re right it hard on carpet, and I need it more for hard floor, thank you :)
Put in on Eco when vacuuming carpet. Much easier.
Great insights, thank you for sharing your experience
5:00 simply use mode Auto and vacuum everyday. considering also the large space, you might be better off doing one straight pass with some overlap like plowing a huge farm land,
I loved the review! And the new fun review style!
Thanks for watching!
Funny at the mid/end part of the video, when he is whispering after vacuuming to not wake up the others or for whatever reason. Is the vacuum cleaner really more silent than your voice?
In Australia the V15 is $1399. I know money worth isn't the same in the Aus and in the USA but would be so good if it was $700 ha.
Might as well have someone ship it to you 😂😂
@@jeroenvermunt3372 probably would still be cheaper 😅
Can you detach the floor brush and keep only pipe? Is it permanently attached?
This video convinced me to never cover my house with carpet everywhere
There are little gadgets that will hold down the trigger for you. I use it only with the long hose & dusting head.
I see you've got a gtech in the cuboard, obviously this dyson is better but by how much?
When you test the laser, you need to pull it back over the clean part, so it illuminates it again and we can see and compare how much it cleaned. Right now we’re only seeing the before but not really the after, which is not very valuable.
I clearly saw a before and after
@@evangonsalves4347 The after is minimal
I've had the Dyson V10 Animal since March of 2018 for $700 I believe.. it's worked great. Battery on medium will clean my whole house 1000sqft 15-20minutes.. but if I vacuum my 14x12 rug in the living room on boost it won't last long, maybe 8-10 minutes. It definitely picks up good. The only other thing is the filter on the back is annoying to clean.
It only last 8 mins?

Those off brand models are super intriguing
how about leaking dust test ? could you do a dust test where u vacuum clean and come back after 1-4 weeks to see if there is a dust build up in that room/ area ?
I live on a farm were there’s small chunks of mud I want to se what it could do on that
you know the heads you use the anti tangle is carpet only if you use it on hard floor it could scratch the so use the other one
I really want a decent Dyson cordless vacuum but unfortunately I don't have the money for one and won't have the money anytime in the near future.
I love your room fans where did you get these
I have had a Dyson Animal Canister for several years.
Whether it’s full or near empty you will get the same amount of power. All newer cordless vacuums do this.
Yeah, i almost died when he said that. Like he was on the moon and never heard of lithium ion
Just bought the V15. Best vacuum for the buck
I believe if you have larger areas to clean, you should always pick a cabled vaccum cleaner anyways and not a battery powered one.
trigger at Dyson adds battery life. simply by stopping while you nové the obstacle etc.
Also Dysons are comoletely sealed which means NOTHING even nôt the dust particules goes out of the vacuum.
Which is unique as Well - you got cleaner air than before vacuuming.
I feel like after you deep clean everything like that...just a quick pass on everything every other day would be good enough and the battery life would no longer be an issue.
yea very true
What is better for vacuuming long hair on carpet and hardwood floor? Dyson V15 or Dyson V11 outsize ?
Own Dyson Animal c35 and 🧡it!. I am hesitant on the cordless ones because of the weight and subsequent strain on the wrist
I think there are lighter versions, but you naturally get less runtime as the battery is the heaviest part
so...what is the bissell you were referring to earlier? also, you did not recommend a best in corded or cordless vacuums. any suggestions?
Did you find in it the problem of changing its dirt tank every now and then and that it opens alone with a lot of use or not?
It doesn't open by itself because you have to take off the attachment before you empty.
That's why I like having my plug in one, when I vacuum I'm doing the whole house, have the cordless for kitchen, quick mess
But Dyson no longer makes replacement parts for anything with a cord. So when it breaks you have to throw it away.
@@kelleythayer1435 can't say I've ever fixed or had one fixed always just threw away and bought a new one anyway

Does it do well on human hair or does it get tangled into the brush?
How is the build quality? I have heard the dysons of these days have cheaper feeling plastics and not as good/sturdy as they used to be known for. Can you comment?
Is the Dyson V15 better than the Samsung Bespoke? My last Dyson broke after a couple of years.
What kind of dust is that, like chalk powder
This sounds very loud to me, how many decibels?
you already know, you're well in your 30s when you're tickering with dysons
I love cleaning tech 😆
Thanks for the review I don't have carpet, I absolutely hate cleaning the roller on my Bennet cordless vacuum cleaner as I have pets and long hair
Does the brush has a self cleaning technology?
For such expensive vacuums, the battery life is a deal breaker for me. After my last Dyson, I won’t be back. When you said the battery is a “wish list item” on a almost $800 vacuum, that’s a no for me.
Very good video. Very helpful. BTW the additional particles you pick up on the carpet could very well be the carpet itself. Meaning that the dyson is probably "eating" the carpet and not actually picking up additional "useful" particles. Does it pick up much more particles on hard floors than the robots? I am quite curious.
Is it possible to run it without a rotating brush head?
Bought one today, I also have a robot and I still use it but ngl, all I can say is that Dyson V15 makes vacuum cleaning FUN FUN FUN lol.
The way he emphasizes the word “suck” 😂 😂
“How does the big Daddy feel?” Those two were like a gay porno
I’ve been in the market for a while now trying to figure out which one is worth the money. I’ve read both good and bad reviews. Curious on its’ longevity. How well will this vac hold up?
I have had my dyson for 10 years and it still works... my mom goes through 1-2 cheapo brands a year! I believe mine has paid for itself multiple times.
Bought our first Dyson ball in 2005 and lasted 14yrs. Decided to try the robot type vacuum and miss our Dyson. Just moved to a new home and searching for a new Dyson stick vacuum. Looking fir light weight, cleans hardwood well, and great at picking up pet hair.
My V7 Animal still gets the job done. But the new technology makes me want to upgrade. I've never regretted spending the money.

I found this video after I had purchased it, granted I did some research before swiping the card but thank you for the thorough and "oddly satisfying" review looking forward to checking out those stats lol.
Robot vacuums and cordless vacuum shouldn't be a replacement for corded vacuum. That Dyson is nice but for $700, I'm not sure it's worth it. Though that fluffy laser head is oddly satisfying to watch.
I was going to get the V15 but I went for the outsize.
The extra bin size isn’t really that necessary imo especially with the extra weight on your arm
For reals tho

Just ordered mine today v15. Hopefully 🤞 is good
What I got from this: wall to wall carpets are disgusting. Don’t get why that’s still a thing in The USA…
me either. they just trap dirt and hair and bugs. they suck
Yeah, I caved and added a big rug though. Nothing like something soft, and not cold under your feet
#1 solution. Clean more often
TheNumber40, I love carpet.
Gotta do a battery mod for higher capacity and higher amp rating or C rating discharge rating. The higher the discharge amperage the better.
Change the head, simple fix
8:30 good criticism coming from a tech channel! this is also the complaint of mine and some vacuum channels, considering the torque head is usable (imho better on hard floors) on hard floors
Cost probably, with the brushless motor it's already an expensive head. Depends if people are willing to spend even more than $700!
Did you find any micro SD cards? Love when that happens....
😂 I bet someday! Prob tiny screws and other fun hidden gems as well
dyson could pick up dirt from the basement when you vacuum the first floor..

I got 1 V15 2 weeks a go for 700€ and I am more than happy…can’t tell u what came out of the carpet 🙈
It's a magnificent vacuum. Worth every penny. I've only had mine for a few days, and I've already vacuumed more than I had in the last six months. It makes the task almost recreational.
I have been using a V6 Absolute for the last 4 years and I just purchased a V15. The dismal battery life on the Max suction of the V6 was beyond frustrating, like 5 minutes of run time. I’m looking forward to the improvement in battery life and dynamic adjustment of power as needed. My wife and daughter both have very bad allergies, so something that will pick up fine dust will be great!
You don't ever need to use max suction unless its a tough spot.. eco and auto is plenty
