Not sure why I’m watching this. Don’t even need a vacuum. Is this what being an adult is like??
I thought I was the only one. 😅
Yes. Yes it is.
Yeap welcome to the club
Wow. I didn’t even notice until I saw this comment. I’ve watched like 10 videos prior to this. 😫
Vacuum can be addictive! See the dust suck in extremely clean and satisfying
It's quite clever that the Ryobi battery is compatible with their tools. Makes it a good choice for those of us that already own Ryobi tools.
Considering the batteries are $80 anyway, and one is included. Makes sense.
I had my Dyson for about a year now…battery charge only last about 5 mins….what good is it if you can’t use it for more than 5 mins?
@@NIO3954 true. Good point
@@NIO3954 My dyson battery seems to be infinite
yeah, it would be pretty silly if they made a battery that wasnt compatible with their tools.
some would call it pointless.
Thanks for this video! I’ve been trying to find a practical vacuum and had no clue Royobi made them! Works great for us bc my husband has ryobi tools!! Thanks again!!! Super happy with the purchase!👍👍👍
OMG….I’m so “Ryobi Green” with envy after seeing your garage Lol!! Finally an awesome review of the Ryobi stick vac model that I’ve been eyeing for awhile now. Thanks
The anti hairwrap head on the dyson is the game changer, the amount of times ive had to cut hair off a regular head is annoying every week but the dysonntech actually works probably needs detangling every few months or so it really works so for the slightly better pick up of the ryobi the dyson does it for me
Love watching this video for the energy you bring in, keep it up mate!
They Ryobi looks great for the price. Love being able to use batteries for multiple uses. The one complaint is the size of the "head". Would be a bit of a struggle to get into tighter spaces in my place.
It has smaller head units and attachments I think.
That's what she said...
I use Ryobi batteries on my Dyson it’s the absolute best and works on high forever
Love the review/comparison...and the Warrior Poet shirt!
Another test you might want to consider is vacuuming pet hair. The pet hair from a chocolate lab clogs up the intake. This is even vacuuming after prior sweeping. It is definitely not fun to have to disassemble the vacuum cleaner to remove clogged pet hair. I never anticipated the dog would shed as much as it does. Perhaps I should have invested more money than buying a Wyze machine. Keep up the excellent reviews.
Thanks for the input. I hear pet hair can be a major pain.
Yes, hair on the bristled head is a huge problem. I had to clean ours before every use. The Dyson does not have this issue, it uses rubber instead of bristles.
we have a Dyson V15 and a Samoyed and we have no problems with hair removal. V15 takes everyone without problems on both wooden floors, carpets and in the car.
have not tried the Roiby vacuum cleaner
@@kodreng69 yep, the Dyson rocks the pet hair.
I just bought this Ryobi vacuum. Like the presenter I have tons of batteries. I can't say enough about the quality of Ryobi batteries. They last for years and have worked for me in -20 and super hot days. We bought a Dyson and it was great for a while. Then the hair from our dogs just overwhelmed it, even though it was specifically designed for dog hair. At 8 months the battery gave out and the replacement cost was too much to justify it. I've already vacuumed my entire house with one 4 amp hour battery and I have like 10 of them ready to go. The Ryobi does need a little more time, or you have to go a slower, but it gets everything. That and the dump system and filter are easier to clean makes it a big win. Oh, and the Ryobi warranty is bulletproof and you can do that at Home Depot.
You’re living my dream with all the machines man
You’re amazing bro. Loved your Ryobi collection.
Dyson Vacs have been out for Decades and this is the first Gen of Ryobi so give it a few years and Ryobi will be the Vac to get.
Oh man. I love the Ryobi Wall. We are starting to get a small collection myself. Great video
The biggest problem for all the vaccums not picking up so well on hard floor is the shear amount of debris trying to be picked up. Only a shop vac or commercial vac would handle such a mess.
And also the size of the debris .. Who would even try to vaccum debris that are easier to pick up by hand?
Exactly. If you don’t feel like pulling out the shop vac then at least take off the floor attachments to suck up a mess like that. Then finish it up with the attachment back on.
For larger debris, you just shouldn't even bother using the motor head. Just the tube will do the job way better. These tests are dumb.
@@effext1 exactly lol
True, but tests tend to be above and beyond the ordinary to prove/show just what's capable. If they picked up the large debris, at least you know they'll grab things on the floor if there happens to be the odd item of that size lying around (rather than a million in one place) instead of just kicking it into the wall, window or dog! My biggest disappointment was that the ryobi seemed to just grind the white powder into the floor - no a very promising sign for what's going on when vacuuming carpet.
The Ryobi battery system is great I've got three 40v batteries and a 40v Ryobi power station for my car whenever I need to charge or power something small it really comes in handy.
Excellent Video. Interesting Information. Thank You Ben.
Thank you, Doug
Thank you so much for your thorough review on the ryobi!
I love your power tool station!
Very organized! 👍👍👍
Really helpful and well made video, exactly what I was looking for with no fluff TY!!
Great to hear thank you
Should note that lower AH packs are usually just a single series where larger packs use 2 series in parallel. This means that even with the same cells larger packs can discharge twice as much current. So you're not just trading off runtime you're also losing current which means less suction.
Are you saying you'd get better performance using a 1.5 or 2 AH battery instead of a 4 AH battery with their vacuums?
He put in a HP 2Ah pack, those can provide quite a bit of oomph but a short time
Lower Ah packs are made of 5 series connected 18650 batteries. The higher Ah packs are made of two rows (or 3 for the 9Ah) of 5 series connected 18650 batteries with the rows of 5 being connected in parallel. The peak current is the same the only difference is run time.
@@BradKwfc Why would the peak potential current not be doubled when the 2 chains of cells are run in parallel?
@@Samqdf Normally it would but the output circuits are the same so they can't handle more current. From what I've found they put out 30A peak. The HP batteries probably put out more current but they have additional contacts.
Great video. Im curious about the filters. How well does the Ryobi filter and how hard is it to change? I've had a bunch of dysons and am thinking about upgrading my 10 year old stick vac. I love the changeable batteries on the Ryobi.
Great video... thx! For me, the Dyson wins: it has more powerful suction. I don't ever have chunks of cereal laying around the floor, and if I did I would not vacuum such ever regardless of vacuum; I would simply sweep that into a dustpan. But I do want all dog hair picked from the hardwood floor, and for that the Dyson performs better. Thanks again.
Ditto for you. My opinion also.
Love the ryobi collection in the garage 🤍 Love the honest review, amazing job! I gotta check out & see if you did a hair test on hardwood floors. I’m really considering buying this & especially after seeing your garage collection & how cool it is to swap out batteries. I’m curious to see if they have updated the ryobi model with a green light & brush roll that detangles hair since this video too… 🤞 again thanks for the content!!
I just purchased a Ryobi dual unit. LOVE it! The battery is certainly short lived (maybe 10 minutes). But it works for our small home with hardwood floors. Great suction and price is certainly good. I guess turning off the dual unit and using only the suction would help with the battery life. Still learning, but very impressed with the vacuum.
I got the other battery and now it last 60 min +
I got the Dyson V15 for $500. Trust me it’s the best out there for that price
I have the single roller Ryobi and with limited use around cats, hair wound up on the end of the roller... got hot and melted where the end of the roller connects and spins. I had a very hard time taking it apart and doing my best to fix it... smoothing out the melted plastic so it would spin again. Wasn't long after and it did it again. No metal bearing, its plastic. Altogether, it lasted less than two months of occasional use. The head unit still works and I use it at work for small cleaning tasks.
Get it replace.
Yeah, I just use it in the garage now without the roller or extension, it will works for a straight suction handheld. I got a newer one for the house and the roller ends were improved. It works fine, tons of hair collects, but doesn't bind the roller. Have had other issues with first generation Ryobi tools. Altogether, I have more than 30 Ryobi 18v tools and have only had a few that had issue.
It was very helpful. thank you
With that type of mess on a hardwood floor, normally for me it would be done with straight suction without the head first then the head after. Dyson definitely. Great video, thanks 👍
I'm a huge Ryobi fan as well. A small portion, very small, are garbage but, and this is a big but, most tools are very decent. Having a dozen or so 18v 4Ah batteries means I can cherry pick the better Ryobi tools.
So, if some tool is rated higher and even has a similar runtime, I'll stick with Ryobi.
I just bought that Royobi cordless and it’s amazing…it’s good for sucking up pet hair….plus it has double rollers ….I picked over the Dyson…especially because of the price too
Great review 👍❤️🙏
I use the craftsman and I had tried both a dyson and ryobi. the craftsman was the winner. Super easy to clean as well so it runs like new all the time.
Ok, so I own both of these. The dyson you will need to lift up the head to get the crunchy stuff or use the brush wand attachment..
The dyson is so much quieter than the Ryobi. The laser attachment is my favorite. I love seeing all the hair and dust on the floor.
The Laser is awesome
When I seen his Ryobi wall..”let me tell you about my best friend” song comes to mind.
Great review. How does the ryobi do with the standard 4ah batteries vs the HP ones? Did you notice a significant difference?
I would like to know that as well because for as much as I like this vacuum cleaner it drains the battery fast and that's with me using a 5A/H pack, not a 4A/H model like in the video. Without using the powered head it will from full charged to the low voltage cut-off take around 15 minutes. Much less again if using the powered head.
Just upgraded from Ryobi to Dyson. So much better.
Great video ABS. My friend just bought a Dyson and he's like, "it can suck up 8 billion particles. but good comparison
Swapped out the battery on my Dyson for a receiver that accepts DeWalt 20v batteries. It's really the best of both worlds.
The dual roller bar is my favorite. Shark also has dual action, I love those vacuums as well.
objective review on a new product….
1:19 no, not biased at all. lol
I use my Dyson on auto mode all the time , it's does the job well , the battery last two times on one charge for my small 20x60 apartment
My Makitavac starts on 2 of 3, i hate that, you spoke from my heart. I have a Badaptor for Makitabatteries on Ryobidevices, so that Vac is a thought, thanks for testing.
I would like to see a long term review on this ryobi as I’m looking into a stick vacuum for cleaning up litter tracks from the cats
I have that ryobi stick vac in Australia. Its great makes me wanna compare that to my dyson too. I don't think it's bad at all. Especially you can swap the battery and keep going with your cleaning whereas the dyson you will have to stop and wait till its charged again.
I am ordering the Ryobi for sure. Have almost 20 of their batteries already. I am going to vacuum every house in the neighborhood!!!
Great review
would the brushed motor version (cheaper) work better for carpeting than the brushless?
Excellent video no question!
Dyson all the way. Just feel better.
The entire point of the dyson's emptying mechanism is that it allows you to get the dust out directly into the bin.. you don't need to go outside and drop it because dropping it spreads dust and dirt everywhere.
I missed bin immediately after downgrading. My Dyson v8 got used up on battery, connections and body loose after 2 1/2 years. Had a Warranty exchange for a weak battery during its first month.
@@markeastridge9649 this part is somewhat shocking. Cordless tools that cost more than something like a commercial branded sebo and that have to be repurchased every several years. These are things that can be made better, but just aren't because there's no incentive for them to be made better.
Loving the WPS shirt🤙🏻
The ryobi wins for sure because of price point plus the only con you kept mentioning about the weight is as easy as a battery change so ryobi all day
I always leave my vacuum in low power mode because my entire house minus the area rug for the living room area is hard surface. So in that case it's nice being on low mode all the time.
Been waiting on this duel vac for months
The slit in the brush roller for the Ryobi is for a knife to cut through hair I think. Can you pull the brush roller out and operate it with just the soft fuzzy roller? Will it still roll? I have really old hardwood flooring and don't want to damage it, but want to use it over using a Swiffer to dust them and remove all of the dog hairs. Thanks!
I have always thought Dysons were overpriced, and overhyped. Shark is my personal favorite.
For a mess that big I'd just use a dust pan and then the straight pipe
I’d also say that with big chunks the hard wood attachment isn’t good for that. You’d want to have the brush vs the foam solid roller
Awesome video!
Thanks for the visit
I love my dual Ryobi it is great! Does the job
I don’t think Dyson had a chance in this video since this guy is a huge Ryobi fan boy
Okay, so where do you get the straw attachment for the Ryobi vacuum. I have the Ryobi lineup, now i want this lol.
One big thing the Dyson V15 has that the others don’t have is a sealed Hepa system that is third party tested.
N a high quality 5 stage dirt separation system with advanced cyclones
Sealed HEPA filtration is the most underrated feature imo. Once you use it you don’t want to go back to a bad smelling room.
@@battery_wattage yep. All dyson stick vacs, uprights, and canisters with the purple hepa filter are sealed. Why would u want to breath back the dirt ur vacuum picked up? But the v15+ filters down even more dirt than all other vacs. But even still smells like dog or food smells can still go through. I think carbon would take over to remove odor smells
Sealed until you empty it for the first time
@@bread-gz3rl true but u can gently empty the dirt to reduce splashing the dirt so not much floats into the air then close the bin n suck up the floating dust around the dirt
I had the ryobi version before this one. It was great but didn’t have the dual rollers. Glade they updated it. I plan on picking the new one up soon.
The dual-roller model releases in about a month, so keep an eye out for that
This was super helpful video … so tell me which are you using now-the most🤔? Need to replace mine soon… I vacuum daily 2 large dog life 😀
I’m looking at the single roller and the dual roller. Wondering how much “better” the dual roller actually is. I’m in an rv and thought the single roller might be easier to maneuver around such a small space. Also wondering if the single roller is A little less weight (even oz can add up). The price difference is $100. Do you have an opinion?
The dual roller is WAY better. I have owned a shark rocket Duo for years it has the dual rollers I got it when it first was released and I would never go back to a single roller. I’ve never tried the Ryobi or dyson but a good vacuum is definitely the Shark rocket duo
Thank you, I may get one.
I need more Ryobi videos :)
Should've had a Shark Rocket in the test. Also, cereals or Chex or pretzels or candy aren't meant for a vacuum. I was always told to sweep my floor and get as much as possible down to sugar and salt sized particles then run the vacuum. Considering that the Ryobi vacuum is made by TTI, who also owns Hoover, Oreck, and Dirt Devil, its bound to be of good quality. If I was looking for a battery vacuum, I'd get the Ryobi considering I have like 4 or 5 of the 4ah batteries at home and its based on the Hoover tech.
I’m a Ryobi girl to begin with. I own 5 batteries already so I think I’m good to go get one. Thanks.
Belle collection de produits Ryobi. J'en ai une bonne dizaine et je continue aussi d'agrandir ma "collection".
I like that he has a WPS tee-shirt on.
Making me tempted to jump back into Ryobi haha
This is how I know I got older. I’m watching vacuum reviews at midnight 😂
the available model at home depot or amazon does not show the flexible yellow crevice tool. Is this an old model being offered?
You say it is the only vacuum with dual rollers but I have had Shark Dual (based on your recommendation) for over a year. How do they stack up against each other?
Am jealous of your ryobi set-up
Also when I tried the vax blade 32v pro on my carpet I went slow and a few seconds during going slow the brush bar stalled out a red light appeared and the brush stopped moving so it stalled out
I bet the Ryobi has more dust leaks than the Dyson but the dual roller head is a cool idea.
I need a vacuum army as well! 🤔🥰
Which one is the best for long hairs? Isnit possible to remove the rollers on the ryobi so the hair can just get sucked up?
The Ryobi has me sold on the battery alone
I don't think the wall mount isn't to HANG it....it's so you can stand it up and just have a spot to click it into when not in use so it doesn't get knocked or fall over. if that makes sense....when installimg the mount on the wall, click it onto the tube of the Ryobi first, stand the vac up and push it against the wall so you know at what height to mount it. This way when you're storing the Ryobi it still stands on its own on the floor but just close to the wall clicked into the mount for stability.
I have a Dyson V10 and CAN'T STAND how it just pushes bigger chunks around....it's suction is good because it's so close to the floor but too close to pick up a cheerio or just fling them around the room!!!!! That Ryobi is gonna be my next vacuum I think!!!! I go over the same spot a few times so the flour test doesn't really bother me
Great video
I LOVE the Warrior Poet shirt! ;)
For me the noise level is very important and it sounds like the Ryobi is really loud. Are there any major difference?
I prefer dyson because I like more light feeling ... big double rodes make it harder to handle.. I think depending of what can your afford will be the choice.. for me I been vacuum with dyson and my house is super clean and the best for me is the light feel that my house that is 2 floor I finished very fast
Sounds like the Dyson still has the better suction power overall? But still excited for this new Ryobi.
Dyson all the way. The laser is absolutely amazing and helpful. You see every piece of dust and dirt. The V12 is push button, not trigger.
This was helpful
OK but everywhere I look on line I can't find the kit with the dual roller head like yours it's not available 🤷
One thing that was missed was that the Ryobi can have its roller bar taken out for thorough cleaning. Its not self-cleaning like the Dyson's but it still makes it easy.
I own a cleaning business and will go for ryobi anyday
Great review. Any idea as if the ryobi is coming to Australia? Thanks
its at Bunnings
@@neila9251 thanks I actually bought one a month ago or so and it is brilliant.
You should check the spanish brand Cecotec, they have the Conga series, robotic vacuums, pretty neat
In Australia that Ryobi Vac kit is $600 😂😂😂
Good review. Because I have about 15 other 18V Ryobi tools. Its a no brainer for me. This vacuum will be replacing our old model dyson which doesn't have a replaceable battery. Can only do one room before it needs charging. What is the model number of the Ryobi vacuum you reviewed?
Did you get the Ryobi vacuum? How is it?
Did you get the Ryobi vacuum? How is it?
Weird that it looks like the kit you received with the extra attachments is no longer available anywhere.
I’ve have 2 Dyson hand held vacs and both, almost right away, quit working as intended...never again with a Dyson.
kobalt needs a version. hw brands try to lock you into their proprietary battery ecosystem. good review.
although personally very rarely do large cereal chunks ever spill on the floor. that’s when i grab the broom. these vacuums are for finer material, which any seem to work well.
Thanks for this! The dual head works for as I have hard wood, tile and carpet. WHAT ABOUT TINECO?
Haven't tried the TINECO
