I’m a professional housekeeper and I currently use a cheaper cordless vacuum for work. It’s great for hard wood but lacks the suction power on carpet unless I use the turbo mode which drains the battery fast. One of my clients purchased a Dyson Outsize. After using it, I saw just how much more powerful it was compared to mine. I decided to purchase my own so I’m doing research to see which model would be the best fit for me. I’m only 5ft, 98lbs and the Outsize is too heavy for me and I don’t like having to push the trigger button. I’ve been thinking about v11 and v15 but after this review I might have to consider the v12. Thank you for the detailed, informative review.👍
After checking Dyson's site and watching your thorough review, I decided to buy a V12. I live in an apartment with hardwood floors and area rugs. The light and having a power button instead of needing to hold the trigger down are what sealed the deal for me. Thanks for the detailed review!😊
Yes, I was thinking about the v15 too until I watched this. My finger would get tired too so that sealed the deal as well. Thank you so much for your awesome review
nice review! Just a heads up in case someone didnt comment this already, there's a 2nd tab near the bin release that lets you completely remove it so you dont have to reach in!
I always wanted a Dyson. So, I purchased my first Dyson vacuum yesterday. The V12. And, I happened to see your video this morning and I can say I am very happy with it. Thank you for your review. Subscribed. 😊
This is one of the best Vacuum comparisons between V12 and V15. I was about to buy V12 for vacuuming rugs and hard floors, but you changed my mind. V12 is not powerful enough to deep clean rugs/carpets. I really wanted a V15 because it has more suction power, but I don't like the trigger on it. It will be best to wait until Dyson upgrades V15 to have a push button start/stop option.
"This is one of the best Vacuum comparisons between V12 and V15" 100% agree !!!! I had gone for the V15 but have now opted for the V12. The reason: - lighter in weight, - You don't have to hold down the button. - Dirt removal from V15 container is more difficult because it is longer, and that is difficult if you have small hands. - Only have hard floors, so don't need a lot of suction power like with carpet.
They aren't going to add an on/off button to the V15. They have a new model out in some places called the Gen5Detect. More powerful than the V15 and comes with the click in batteries and the on off button.
I just borrowed my neighbors V 15 detect. I have a mix of carpets and hardwood floors. I absolutely loved the dustbin and how easy it was to release, it powered through the carpets. The only thing that is keeping me back this time that finger trigger. I have arthritis in my right hand, and I am concerned. for the price I wanna be madly in love. I think I will wait as well.
I bought 2x V12 and extra batts recently. Weight is the key attribute among tradeoffs. Pointless V15 being superpowerful but difficult to hold and manoeurve for long, deep "DETECT" clean due to its heayweight - the very purpose of the laser detect theme. In Asia, users are relatively petite and homes have more hard floors and fewer carpets. Sleeky fluffy roller works far more agilely and effectively over torque motorhead roller in this regard, esp when the latter torque head was modelled after older versions and not V15. V12 was launched after V15 proves the point. Obvious lack of deeper understanding on the priority of attributes important to users thorough consumer research. Suction power isn't everything! Stronger suction also means noisier!
I really didn’t see the V15 weight as a huge concern originally. But I’m feeling differently after using the V12 along with reading the comments from my previous V15 review.

I finally got my V12. Absolutely luv it!! Everything you said is absolutely true. The small dust bin and battery life are not an issue. Thank you for your fantastic review. It was the thing that tipped me in the direction to get the machine. So far one of my best purchases ever .😊😊😊
I received my V12 yesterday and used it last night. I have a dog and a small apartment, and I frequently vacuum my bed, office chair, car, and other above floor fabrics so the small size is perfect for me. It’s great so far!
The reason there is no power button is to conserve battery power. I personally believe they could have made all of the V models with removable batteries and two batteries per device. I guess its all about the cost in the end.
Thanks man, totally convinced me I would be happier with a V12. Plus, and this is a big plus. My young daughter can help and use the V12 where the V15 would probably be too much for her.
I wa really weighing between v15 and v12 but decided to go woth the v12 and still, I still think about how much nicer the uscction power would be. But the main thing was I knew that even some 500grams difference in weight would be significantly different when you use it more than a few minutes. And if youre using it for more or less daily house maintenance an ocassional mess i knew the v12 would be the better choice. At first, not knowing how much suction it really is, i thought the sucction was pretty weak, but whwn i tried it, it really is because of that well designed attachment that made it effective. And if the sucction were stronger it wouldve definitely been heavier as well so its kind fo a sweet spot. But in the furture, i hope they standardised all the attachments, so if you have one beig used for year and broke down or something youd be able to have spare attachments if you buy the newer model. Also im glad to hear that the suction dont eally feel different in eco or medium because, i thought the v15 can sort of run on the same suction power as the v12 on its turbo mode, while on the v15 medium mode that would mran you can vacuum at the suction power of v12 turbo for 8x the duration and that wouldve made it more difficult to choose between the 2. Also it would be perfect if theyre able to also make it possible for you to connect the charger and use it, so you can use the turbo mode longer, even if its limited because the heating might be an issue its still would've been better than having it under10mims.
Hey great video! I just wanted to point out that you are severely over filling the bin on the V12 when you are vacuuming. With how much hair and dirt that was in your bin it should have been emptied 2-3 times. The reason all the dirt and hair gets stuck when you are emptying it is because you are going way over the max fill line which clogs up the bin and bypasses the cyclones making any fine dust and dirt go straight to the filter
If that's the case, I'd have to empty the bin every 15 seconds? That's just naturally where hair ends up for me. In the scenarios demo'd, there was hardly anything in the bottom of the bin.
Picked up the v12 for my apartment and very happy with it. The laser does a great job of showing where there’s dust and even though the cleaning lady did the carpets using her vacuum my v12 picked up a ton of my girls hair and nastiness that her regular vacuum left behind.
Thanks for the review, i already ordered V12 Detect Slim Absolute instead V15 even though they are at same price here in my country Greece which is 699 euro. Also I've 3 indoor cats..
I have a bad back & can't use my upright anymore. My friend suggested a Dyson, she has the v15. I was almost going to buy it at Costco on sale for $499 but decided to do some research. I saw that the v12 was lighter & had the on/off button. I was pretty sure that's what I was going to buy, but to make sure, I went to her house today to try out the v15. No way. Too heavy & I kept changing hands. You are WAY stronger than I, & to hear that you change hands often was a bit surprising, but comforting. Thanks so much for this video, because I know I will buy the right model.
Am I crazy to wonder why a BUTTON on/off switch is considered such a great "innovation" from a company known for the most advanced tech in Vacuums available? How could they miss this so long?
It's definitely funny because it's not innovative at all. My guess is Dyson went with the trigger for all those years to preserve the most amount of battery while they were waiting for the battery efficiency of the motor to improve. Engineering is about trade-offs.
The best option that I can see, but probably way easier said than done for reasons I can’t think of, is having both a trigger and an on off switch. When the switch is off, the trigger turns it on, when the switch is on, the trigger turns it off. Too good to be true I know but to me that would be the ideal vacuum.
Came here because the power button on our V11 is slowly breaking down and we should get a new one. We definitely consider a V12 now, as the button does not have to be pressed all the time.
Im thinking of getting my mom the v12 for mothers day to replace her Shark Rotator Professional series vacuum. I hope the power is at least comparable but she needs it for the light weight as she is getting old. This video sold me on the v12.
Thanks for watching! I don't know why, but it always surprises me when people actually buy stuff based on things I say. Let me know if you have any questions.
@@camsecore Modesty is a good look, but I know it's also genuine with you too, which makes it even better! Great review, your old school, top relevant information covered concisely, with your opinion and insight along the way and at the end. I do like they went with the non-trigger power button on the V12. I've had the V10, my first Dyson, for a couple years and have been very happy with it. I wish they didn't sell their parts and supplies at such high prices, especially the filters. I got some aftermarket extra filters from Amazon, but those make me a little uneasy (fiberglass quality control, etc) and I probably won't buy anymore. If anyone ever has questions I know the video to refer them to now. Good to see you back and thanks. I wish you success with your other channels and pursuits as well of course.
I’m with your 100% on the cost of the parts! And literally tried the same thing with the generic filters and have had the same level of disappointment.
i have been searching reading watching the comparisons of cordless vacuum cleaners after deciding to buy dyson this time i have done the same things for which model of dyson that i need to buy and after your video i m sure that i m gonna buy v12. thank u so much ❤
I had a Dyson DC17 Animal for 16 years! But I just bought a V15 Detect because it was so much lighter. I'm getting older and lighter is better for me now. I watched your review just to see what the differences are. I'm sure I bought the right one because I have cats and lots of cat hair. I think the larger dustbin will help, but it is much smaller than the DC17 Animal which is .66 gallons. Even with the .66 dustbin, I usually had to empty it at least twice during a vacuuming session. As for the handheld on the new machine, I'm probably going to keep my Dyson V6 Handheld because it is smaller and lighter and works great. Thanks for the review. Very helpful.
@@camsecore Tried it out for the first time today and the V15 Detect very well, but what surprised me is that it did wear out my arm pushing it around on carpet. My old DC17 Animal was easier because the floor tool had more self-propulsion on carpet. And I think I'd rather have an on/off button rather than the trigger. But I still think the Dyson V15 Detect is a very good vacuum so I have no regrets. I also liked the light on the hard floor tool. It was very helpful to see the dust on the floor and see it gone after a pass. Tomorrow I'm going to test out the dusting tool. Fun times! lol! Oh and I still had battery life after doing half of my house. The dust bin was adequate too.
Thanks for great information. I am still using a very old DC35 cordless and a DC54 ball vacuum. I want to get one of the current Dyson sticks to replace both. I looked at everything from the V8 to the V15 and think the V15 is the way to go for me, for these reasons: 1. Our dog sheds a lot of hair, but my wife is way worse, and it’s long, thick hair. (She agrees, and will laugh if she reads this). 2. Our house is medium size, but two levels, so bin size matters for emptying. 3. We have some big, deep pile rugs, so power matters. 4. I don’t get enough exercise as it is, so I welcome the workout, my wife feels the same. Your video helped with our decision and I think the V12 is a great addition to the range, for a lot of people. For us, it will be the V15.
Suction is the most important thing for me, as I have 4 cats who shed 2 other kittens worth of hair every day and very very uneven floors Seems like v15 would be the best choice, but I'm sad it's heavy and you have to hold the button Maybe I'll wait another year or 5 till they make my dream vacuum
Just got my v15 recently and as a small and definitely not muscular woman I find it super easy to use. Holding the button doesn't bother me even though first I thought it would. Suction was also important to me as I have a cat too. It did an amazing job on my rugs, sofa and bed. I have a Dyson DC37 which I used prior getting the v15 and it was very heavy and difficult to use when vacuuming upholstery. So compared to that using v15 feels so easy and fun! 😊
I had the V12 and love it , easy and effective with 17 cats rooming around, cleaning the bin I use small bristles paint brush and with the awesome design I hang it as though it is part of my workroom decoration
@@camsecore yes, all strays cat, it stated when my wife and I took home a sick cat and we managed to make him well, I stop at 17 ask I can't managed more :)
Thank you for a very honest comparison. Just moved into a place with more hardwould floors and newd a new vaccum. Watched another video that did a comparison. Said similair things. Thinking the v12. I dont care if i may have to reload it once whilst vaccuming. If its lighter weight can run it more which will cut down on stuff. So eventually it should even out right? Really like the green sight for spotting debris.
thank you so much for this video. I was really stuck in between V12 vs V15. Ultimately chose V12 primarily because. 1. My parents love to vacuum, so weight is a huge factor, 2. The fact that there is a button to switch on & off instead of the always press on the trigger button set up on the V15 3. I live in an apartment, i dont need such a huge tank for dirt - Even if it gets full, its just a 10sec job to get the dirt out 4. Mostly hard floor, have a few carpets in the house but thats alright. I know V15 cleans better for carpet, but i am fine with just a basic cleaning on carpets. 5. Compact and cool head attachements - i think thats pretty sweet! 6. Never tried a Dyson product, but excited to give it a shot after my phillips cordless vacuum died on me Cant wait for it to arrive and test it out. Cheers everyone!
thanks for your video, I watched the vacuum wars and the DYSON V12 was highly recommended, just ordered one, this will be my 1st DYSON, it replaces a cordless SHARK which I liked much.
Thanks for the review, I wanted a cordless Dyson as my upright is heavy and have trouble with my grip. Most reviews don't mention the trigger button and the weight distribution. I was going to get the V10 but have ordered the V12 because of your review. The prices of Dyson (UK) have dropped considerably the past few months.
Excellent video compared to a lot of other video's we have watched, it is well set out and well presented. You explained all the aspects of each vacuum with the good points from your own experience in the real world which was really helpful. We are looking at each of these vacuums to buy and I think you help to make my wife's mind up to go for the V12 as we have a lot of tiled floors.
I have carpet upstairs and I think I have old big bin Dyson vacuum that went bad the big bin added pain to my wrist. Is v15 really that good for deep cleaning not sure if there’s a difference than v12. Seems like v12 is good option
Thanks for the review! Seriously onsidering upgrading from a v6. In my case I use it mostly on hard floor to vacuum our australian shepherds long hair - he shed so much. One of the major issues is that I end up using only the crevice tool since all other heads quickly get stuck with hair. It doesn’t get tangled hair but doesn’t clean perfectly either. You mentioned you have dogs as well. How do you think the new motorhead on the v12 handles those?
QUESTION ALL ? is the power button a game changer in the V12 and Gen5 or is the trigger fine and no issue in the V15.....thats why i am trying to rack my brain and pick between the three,,,.....2200 sq ft house total...mostly hardwood with various area rugs and one room has carpet....want something strong enough to clean car also.....thx for your review.....cheers from Canada
Id like to add one question and id like to get the answer. Auto mode suction is changing power level depends on how much dust is on the floor. I can´t get rid of the feeling, that V12 is just changing power level all the time no matter if there is more or less dust. Only consistent power level is on carpets. On tiles for example is just changing all the time.
oh okay sorry, it´s not clear i guess. My question is that when i use V12 on Auto mode, its regularly higher and lower the speed/power no matter how much dust is on the floor. I´m worry that there might be something wrong with my V12. Do you have the same experience with yours?@@camsecore
I live in an 3 1/2 apartment with 1 bedroom next to a very busy highway. Me and my dog both have different allergies from pollen to dust and mite. Landlord do not clean the building passage way and there is rock, dirt, dog and cat hair and other debris all over and so many other things around all the time. I have 2 carpets that cover about 20% of my apartment and then the rest is wood floor and ceramic. At the moment both the V15 and V12 are at 849$CND on their website and I am wondering which to pick?
@@camsecore I actually went with the V12. Me and my girlfriend feel that the V15 might be too heavy and the press button is a deal breaker for her. For me as long as I have something with HEPA I'll be happy. :) Thank you!
I have been using the V11 Torque Drive for the past few years and over the last few months, I experience an issue where it would keep running even after releasing the trigger. I have to hit the battery to get it to stop. I am looking for something that is lighter and does not have a trigger and it sounds like the V12 may be my best option. However, most of my vacuuming is done on low to medium pile carpet. In your honest opinion, would the V12 be sufficient enough to remove dirt, debris, and cat hair from the carpet, even on the automatic/medium mode?
Will long hair and fur get stuck in the vacumcleaner (v12) head for carpet’s? Or is it a cam that stop long hair and fur to get stuck like it is on V15?
This is not acurate for pet owners. The v6 / v7 / v8 style vacuums will trap hair in the inlet and in the container. The digital motorbar anti tangle head is great too. Nothing gets stuck there. Go for the v15. Yes it is heavier but you have no hazzle with that one. The hair gets stuck in the V12 because there is less space between the container and motor unit, similar to v6 / v7 / v8 or the container is way to full. there is max marking on the side. You don't want the content to go over the silicon ring around the bottom of the motor unit.
I wish they have both the option to press or click turn on. Sometimes I just need a very quick clean up where the press would be great - especially when vacuuming my car. Majority of my house is carpet and we have 3 women with long hair so I think the V15 is better suited but I rather go with the V12 for the weight n lower price. I think the V15 with it's price just isn't worth it. I have never had a vacuum that could actually vacuum up majority of the hair from carpet despite what the ads/reviewers says it can do - and thus I doubt the V15 can actually do that too.
Thank you for the video!!! One thing I still don't understand, is the eco mode enough to clear hard floors? And for sofas better the medium mode? And when actually do you need the boost if I don't have carpet but only hard floors?
You've basically described how I use mine. I would never waste the max mode on hard floors. It's not a bad idea to use the max on furniture for a deeper clean, but it's not necessary the entire time.
@@camsecore But they don't make both version, that's the problem, the trigger is gone from all their new models now the only option if I want one of the recent models with all the new cool features and still have the trigger is to buy the V15, the heaviest and most expensive one.... I would love the smaller V12 with a trigger... I swear at some point I was even thinking of buying the V12 and DIY-ing this shit with 3D printing and adapting a trigger from a old model I have
Thanks for sharing. It helps me a lot! I just wonder with 150 air watts of V12 is it good enough to vacuum car and sofa or it's recommended to go for V15 or at least V11 advanced? Thanks.
Hi how would the V12 compare to V15 with marbled tiled floors, dogs (2 l/h mini dachshunds) & only a couple of area rugs please. I have spinal, neck & shoulder injuries wondering how the trigger Vs press button would go? Thx great vlog. Best wishes from Adelaide; South Australia🇦🇺💐
Thank you for this great comparison video. Will you be reporting on the Dyson Submarine? I'm considering buying one but now I'm not sure since it's the V15.
Controversial opinion: the push button is better. Reason: When vacuuming, it tends to turn off and on more, allowing you to quickly talk to people instead of finding the power button and turning it off. It makes if feel more like a gun firing then a computer turning on.
So i have the v11 plus, which was a great upgrade over our old plug in Bissell. But the v11 and the v15 use the same exact battery which makes no sense on how the v15 can be more powerful. Unless dyson throttles down the eclectronics on the v11. Which then doesn't make sense because the v15 claims longer run time. I love the vacuum and the name dyson is golden in the segment, but they have far too many models and i have a hunch its about seeing what people are willing to pay vs filling niches. They should have a small and large cordless, both utilizing completely different electronics. And they should have small and large corded. Model designs should last 6-8 years. And why can't I order a double capacity battery? Dyson needs help
I'm pretty sure the only difference is that the Absolute has a HEPA filter instead of a regular filter. The Absolute didn't exist at the time of this video.
Several mentions/comparisons of the V10, but not a word on the V11? I've seen a couple of reviews that conclude the V11 performs better than the V12 & certainly better than the V10. I'm doing research before retiring my V8 & getting a V11, 12 or 15, but so far I'm leaning toward the V11, as reviews favor it and it's way less expensive. Sticker shock is an issue many have with Dysons, so shopping for a remanufactured or an open box (but new) Dyson you'll find lower prices.
I should probably work for Dyson. The button at the top should have been located in an indentation in the body of the vacuum (upper left and right side of the handle, top of the thumb) where it can’t be triggered accidentally and can be pressed intentionally with an upward motion of the thumb. Plus, they should have implemented a strip of capacitive sensor in the handle (the red line thingy) so the vacuum will turn itself off when the user has let go of the handle. Effing Dyson, after all that engineering and overcharging you’d expect them to come up with this kinda sh**. (v12 user)
i just ordered this V15 detect at 799 ( canadian ) 580 ( US )....is that a good deal ? was 200 off ( regular 999 canadian ). I went to a Dyson store and tried them all and i liked the V15 , the trigger was so easy I don't think it will be an issue at all...cheers from Vulcan Canada
V15 collection bi is too small if you have ant kind of carpet that sheds and it fills up above the half way line efore eedingto which adyson say you are not supposed to do. The presenter failed to show there is a button on the v15 collector that you can press to remove it totally which is inelegant but makes it easier to empty than fishing by hand. V12 for carpet that sheds would be useless with its tiny collection bin. V15 is noticeably heavy and for our medium density triexta carpet has more than enough suction ob eco mode and with the brush head set to least powerful setting

If all your dirt is ending up at the top of the bin, try wiping out your bin and sheath with a non static cloth.
I love to hear that. I hope you like the V12 when you get it!
@@camsecore Good point, although don't most things use more power by starting and stopping constantly vs just staying on over the same period?
@@Wolfsheim23 I don't think with battery powered devices, but I'm also an idiot.
Having arthritis an off/on button rather than constantly pressing a trigger is a way better option imo.
Bought the v10 based on your recommendation years ago but the v12 looks tempting
And literally tried the same thing with the generic filters and have had the same level of disappointment.
i have been searching reading watching the comparisons of cordless vacuum cleaners after deciding to buy dyson this time i have done the same things for which model of dyson that i need to buy and after your video i m sure that i m gonna buy v12. thank u so much ❤
Awesome!
Thanks for watching! I hope you love your V15 - it's a beast!
I looked at everything from the V8 to the V15 and think the V15 is the way to go for me, for these reasons:
Suction is the most important thing for me, as I have 4 cats who shed 2 other kittens worth of hair every day and very very uneven floors
Seems like v15 would be the best choice, but I'm sad it's heavy and you have to hold the button
Maybe I'll wait another year or 5 till they make my dream vacuum
Just got my v15 recently and as a small and definitely not muscular woman I find it super easy to use. Holding the button doesn't bother me even though first I thought it would. Suction was also important to me as I have a cat too. It did an amazing job on my rugs, sofa and bed. I have a Dyson DC37 which I used prior getting the v15 and it was very heavy and difficult to use when vacuuming upholstery. So compared to that using v15 feels so easy and fun! 😊
They have made your machine, It's called the GEN5Detect. 280 air watts of suction power, on/off button, click in batteries, optic light fluffy head.
@@gingersmith9953 THANK YOU
I had the V12 and love it , easy and effective with 17 cats rooming around, cleaning the bin I use small bristles paint brush and with the awesome design I hang it as though it is part of my workroom decoration
17 cats?

Thank you for a very honest comparison. Just moved into a place with more hardwould floors and newd a new vaccum. Watched another video that did a comparison. Said similair things. Thinking the v12. I dont care if i may have to reload it once whilst vaccuming. If its lighter weight can run it more which will cut down on stuff. So eventually it should even out right? Really like the green sight for spotting debris.
The light on the fluffy head is one of my favorite features in any tech product over the last few years.
thank you so much for this video. I was really stuck in between V12 vs V15. Ultimately chose V12 primarily because.
1. My parents love to vacuum, so weight is a huge factor,
2. The fact that there is a button to switch on & off instead of the always press on the trigger button set up on the V15
3. I live in an apartment, i dont need such a huge tank for dirt - Even if it gets full, its just a 10sec job to get the dirt out
4. Mostly hard floor, have a few carpets in the house but thats alright. I know V15 cleans better for carpet, but i am fine with just a basic cleaning on carpets.
5. Compact and cool head attachements - i think thats pretty sweet!
6. Never tried a Dyson product, but excited to give it a shot after my phillips cordless vacuum died on me
Cant wait for it to arrive and test it out. Cheers everyone!
Nice breakdown. I hope you love it!
@@camsecore You motivated me to look at the 12. I am buying one this week. Thank you so much for this video.
That laser head is fantastic if you have cats. Shows all of the litter bits
thanks for your video, I watched the vacuum wars and the DYSON V12 was highly recommended, just ordered one, this will be my 1st DYSON, it replaces a cordless SHARK which I liked much.
Awesome - I hope you love it!
Which one is better for vacuum beds and cloth. I have two dogs and two cats and need too vacuum everything.
I appreciate it. Glad I could help!
I have carpet upstairs and I think I have old big bin Dyson vacuum that went bad the big bin added pain to my wrist. Is v15 really that good for deep cleaning not sure if there’s a difference than v12. Seems like v12 is good option
thank you so much for the video I am deciding to buy a Dyson and watching as many videos as I can to understand differences and you truly helped.
Thanks for watching!
Best comparison video I found, Short and clear 😊 🙏

Thanks for the review! Seriously onsidering upgrading from a v6. In my case I use it mostly on hard floor to vacuum our australian shepherds long hair - he shed so much. One of the major issues is that I end up using only the crevice tool since all other heads quickly get stuck with hair. It doesn’t get tangled hair but doesn’t clean perfectly either. You mentioned you have dogs as well. How do you think the new motorhead on the v12 handles those?
You should now test the gen5 vs the 15 and the 12 would be good to see if it is worth the upgrade thanks for your reviews that are honest
What's the question?
oh okay sorry, it´s not clear i guess. My question is that when i use V12 on Auto mode, its regularly higher and lower the speed/power no matter how much dust is on the floor. I´m worry that there might be something wrong with my V12. Do you have the same experience with yours?@@camsecore
Yes, the Dyson vacuum cycle up and down often, but in my experience the V12 and V15 do this in the same way.
At the same price? The V15 is definitely the better value. But I really think either would suit your needs easily.
@@camsecore I actually went with the V12. Me and my girlfriend feel that the V15 might be too heavy and the press button is a deal breaker for her. For me as long as I have something with HEPA I'll be happy. :) Thank you!
How hard was to design a retainable trigger like on pretty much all power tools for decades now? So that you could have the best of both worlds.
Yeah, probably, especially if you were content with the V11 performance at your house.
Button is definitely a game changer
Will long hair and fur get stuck in the vacumcleaner (v12) head for carpet’s? Or is it a cam that stop long hair and fur to get stuck like it is on V15?
It has similar anti-tangle tech as the V15 's head.
Inaccurate in what way? My recommendation for owners of pets is the V15.
Thanks so much for your shadings. Your sharing have helped me decide which model I should get for new user like me… THANK YOU…
Which one are you going with?
@@camsecore hi I live in Asia, my home is small with hard flooring. I am getting V12🤩😉
How about a HEPA filter for exhaust dust control? Does the V12 have a HEPA filter? Do all the V15s have a HEPA? How important is it?
Not really sure how important it is but both have it.
@@camsecore ok awesome! thank you heaps!!! 🙏
I bought a V12 but didn't realize spare batteries would be impossible to find in the US. Are the V12 and V15 batteries interchangeable?
It won't work.
I really don't get all the people praising the new button.. trigger was so much better, for the battery and for the noise
Just easier on the finger. Not essential. I'm glad that they make both versions.
@@camsecore But they don't make both version, that's the problem, the trigger is gone from all their new models now
the only option if I want one of the recent models with all the new cool features and still have the trigger is to buy the V15, the heaviest and most expensive one....
I would love the smaller V12 with a trigger...
I swear at some point I was even thinking of buying the V12 and DIY-ing this shit with 3D printing and adapting a trigger from a old model I have
Thank you for that video! Helped me decide to go with V12 instead of the V15!
Nice! Thanks for watching!
what is the suction power for each mode? V12
Thanks for sharing. It helps me a lot! I just wonder with 150 air watts of V12 is it good enough to vacuum car and sofa or it's recommended to go for V15 or at least V11 advanced? Thanks.

The v12 bin is just too small.
just go to a bin and empty it inbetween :D
Controversial opinion: the push button is better.
Reason:
When vacuuming, it tends to turn off and on more, allowing you to quickly talk to people instead of finding the power button and turning it off. It makes if feel more like a gun firing then a computer turning on.
Is there any difference in suction between the regular V12 and the V12 Absolute?
No
So i have the v11 plus, which was a great upgrade over our old plug in Bissell.
I can’t use my Dyson V15 in a carpets, why do you think it is? 😕 any suggestions ? Thanks
A thin carpet? Which suction mode? Which head?
I want to buy V12 but it has two options: Dyson V12 Detect Slim™ Absolute
And
V12 Detect Slim™
Which one should I get?
I'm pretty sure the only difference is that the Absolute has a HEPA filter instead of a regular filter. The Absolute didn't exist at the time of this video.
isn't having to change vacuum heads from floor to carpet a pain though? I almost think I'd rather move the plug from room to room.
I guess it depends on your home. We do all the hard floors with the fluffy, then go back and do our three of area carpets we have with the other head.
Perhaps Dyson could include "dust bin tweezers" to reach into the deeper bin on the v15
The bin slides off completely, but it’s kind of a hassle.
is the v12 you are talking about a slim version ?
The full name is the "V12 Detect Slim," yes.
Do you think the gen5 is the best of both worlds(minus the larger size)
Not really. In my experience, the light-weightedness is more important than the button. Gen5's have a V15 body.
what battery fits the v12 ?
I’m happy that he’s being appreciated for what he’s good at. #TeamRuss

What's the verdict?
I’ve bought the v12 as I don’t have carpets or huge area to vacuum.
@@ayseulgen8714 Awesome - I hope you like it!
How did you like it? Also planning to buy one for myself soon.
Is there an extension hose for the V12?
I don't think so.

Really nice review man! Thanks
