2resons, 1. The xj hood frame are weak and after years of slamming them the frame sags down. Push the frame center up. 2. Sometimes the front end has had damage. Try adjusting the hood forward.
not trynna light up any flame but thats just how bad design and quality looks like. tolerances in the assembling were not respected or were not taken account of and for that you get a slightly loose hood hinge, or slightly bigger hood that causes it to not have enough room to open without catching on ther rear lip you showing us in the video.

True
They don't all do that. I've seen many dozens in salvage yards, and I have never see a single one that did that, and none of the cowls were broken.
Guess I'm just unlucky
Move the hood forward! Loosen the hinge first tho😂 and if that doesn't work, take a grinder and grind a 1/4 from the back of the hood and re-spray
Great tips!
Because jeeps are scrap metal
And what manufacturer is best?
Ours does the exact same thing. No idea, but curious myself. I have very little experience with body work.
I have 2 XJs and an MJ. They all do it!
Hmmm that’s strange nun of my xjs have ever done that
Weird. Not my problem I have a 92. Y
Interesting...
Bc it’s a jeep😂
It's a Jeep thing?
Idk but that’s not groovy!
My 98 does this !
Seems to be a problem in most XJS but I've never heard anyone talk about it.
Shit quality IMHO
Motors and transmissions outlast the body for sure
Because jeeps are by far the worst brand of cars when it comes to reliability and build quality
Really?
2000 xj. Always runs perfect, no issues. I've been driving it for a quarter of a century. Mudding and climbing.
Since fiat bought them yeah but when AMC owned them they were clocks.
@@rottiesdad yeah fiat ruined jeep; my old jaguar ran better than the new jeeps lol
@@MajorWeakness yeah the new ones get some of the lowest ratings and jeep never makes consumer reports lists ever
🤦♂️
