I think you're going to have to contact him. The way that you contact him and the way that you interact with him can go a long way in showing him that he's not walking back into the same dynamic that he walked away from.

I was the rebound and realised to late through out the relationship I was constantly compared to how horrible his ex was and told I was going to do the same to him. I felt I had to constantly try to prove I was better person and that I loved him. Then one day I realised that he never loved me and he was not interested in me and probably never was. I just was to blind to see the truth

I think more people need to view rebound relationships as their ex being unfaithful. Me and my ex still have a mortgage together. It's only been 2.5 months since we split and he's now on dating sites. It's so so fresh to me, I still sleep in our bed for crying out loud.
I can relate. Went through the same thing but I finally kicked him out and moved in with this woman who he met a month after we broke up. Yes agreed. For a few weeks I believed its possible to get back with your ex, if both decide to work on themselves and realize what went wrong, change their behaviour and come back with a different outlook, learning from past behaviours. Problem is when one side suffers from shiny object syndrome and is looking for the next quick fix, jumping straight into a new relationship. Obviously it will feel nicer and more exciting. Its something new and you enter the honeymoon phase again. But I also know that I dont want a partner who is not willing to grow as a person and look at their own behaviours. Cant change people, and thats fine. You live and learn. Take the lesson and level up, thats the only right way. Life is beautiful. So many beautiful souls to meet that otherwise you would not have, thats for sure.

Mine isn't really about an ex but someone that I have and had a connection with, came close to a relationship (we wanted to be together) but ultimately, things got difficult on my side and he suddenly jumped to the next person who would take him. About 2 months after their first date, he moved the guy in and it's all so bizarre. He's also changed from his natural role of the more dominant and protective caring type, to having someone who is even more so like that than he is... which almost suppresses that side of him and is totally uncharacteristic - he always likes to be that guy and take the lead. What's interesting is that it's been a couple of years now and we still talk, still really get on and it can feel like there's something still there. At first, he went quite quiet on me when it began and then things got a bit heated, so it's taken a couple of years to get to a really good place again... but when I apologised, it was a matter of minutes before he unblocked me, upon receiving that message. If he was so angry at me and happy with his partner, surely he wouldn't have cared enough and would've just left me in the past? Meeting him again, he went back to that caring and protective person again, was very relaxed and it was a great day. I just find their relationship confusing and unusually misplaced, knowing what I know about him and it almost feels like it was rushed, just to have someone who will take him because they were available at the time and then clinging and settling with them out of convenience. Am I crazy or does that make sense?
My ex is fearful avoidant. His fears got the best of him and he ran. I am becoming the best version of myself. I have always been into self improvement. With avoidants, a person can be their best self, and they still run.. For them, fear is the key. Fear and an excessive need for independence.

I appreciate your videos so much. I don't know what's to come but I know sulking wont get my mission accomplished. Me and my ex are not on bad terms, I kind of messed him up and broke up with him but quickly the same day I told him I was sorry we were both crying his eyes were so puffy and then a week later we got in a little disagreement and he breaks up with me, then gets with his female friend who he's known for 4 years before me. She's boring and not as great as me looking but that's not what I care about, he just completely replaced me and he said it's because I hurt him so bad and made him feel useless and unwanted and this girl really likes him for a while I felt like but I never cared. I want him to snap out of it and let me in but it's making me so mad he's making t seem everything's perfect with her. And he would even go to her for advice about us so umm if he was emotionally cheating he wouldn't go to her.

Hi clay. A weird scenario for you. My partner and I were together for 3 years. We had our ups and downs like most relationships. I love the bones off him. Well basically we had a row and he moved to a different town to be with his family. (This was 3 months ago) I find out a few days ago that he's in a relationship. However he messaged me last month saying he misses me and wants to sort it with me. I haven't heard 9ff him since but found out by a friend that he's in a relationship. I can't see as he's blocked me and my family however he hasn't blocked 2 of my family members. I have decided to move away to start fresh somewhere and focus on myself. What if ( like exactly in my situation) the ex broke up with you because she cheated on you and she couldn't handle looking into your eyes because the guilt and regret and the emotional pain was too much for her to handle so she brakes up with you and you have to be the one leaving? Then how does "FOMO" work for you/me ??
I believe my ex is in a rebound relationship. Lately,she says she's been "thinking about life things" and I'm part of that. She also says she doesn't know if it's good or bad and it could range from possibly hating me to wanting to surprise me with something to something much more. She said all this without hesitation.

Clay your wise beyond your years,,, this vedio just confirmed everything I had thought and felt,,,13 years together and she shut down emotionally with menopause and left me,,,and didn't see anyone else for almost 3 years and as soon as she saw me with someone else and a week later she found another man and married him soon after and it failed as fast as it progressed,,,I knew she never really stopped loving me I was always there for her honest loyal trustworthy and faithful and we had an amazing love life,,,I knew no man could ever replace what I was too her,,In fact I saw her today and she broke down in front of me..i feel bad for her ,but I did everything I could to keep us together and I would never take her back now..And she knows that about me.

My ex broke up with me and a few days later get together with this girl that’s liked him since the day we got together. He tries to hide to relationship with me but I see them together. I do feel they are moving way too quick though. It does hurt that he moved on that quick it’s like he never respected our relationship!! Mine has trust issues and is insecure. She is also pretty close to being 70% avoidance attachment style which means she can just cut her losses with me and move on with little emotional connect to the past. She broke up waiting on my divorce to end and told me she would wait until Nov and this was early Aug but drops an end relationship on me on the 18th of Aug saying no divorce progress when there is and it will be done later Oct. Immediately on a dating site and is with a guy now 2 months who is very different than I am. He is safe is what he is but is not very passionate or connected to her from what I can see but maybe that is what she wants. I am planning to send her an email with the divorce decree attached telling her why I am a better choice. We'll see.

The ending was this year 2021, so you can see for how long he instead of dealing with us he was already breathing his new supply. When this chick sees he has lied about his age, lied about his reality everything coz all lies always surface coz it’s called divine justice, he will feel what I felt the day I saw him moving on without breaking up with me. Nothing that’s starts well ends well guys.

Coach clay, my mom had a boyfriend of 8 years and they broke up in 2010. After the break up she spent a year or two moping over the break up and she tried to reach out to him twice. She called her ex one time but he told her that they have to move on. My mom then entered a rebound relationship with a friends when she found out her ex got married and has kids. She sped the rebound relationship to same level like ex for example the moving in together,getting married,and having a kid. But my mom's partner turn out to be a alcoholic and a idiot. They had a bitter break up and now they are fighting for custody of my sister. And they guy has been abusing my sister by alienating her from my mom and making a lot accusations against my mom. Yeah rebound relationships are not the answer to heal ourselves quicker from a break up. I have depression cause still think about it all.

My ex started getting with a long term friend of his before we split up. We Only broke up 2 weeks ago and the girl has confirmed that they are together. He has blocked me on all social media. We were long distance (Spain to England), and this girl lives an hour and a half away from him (long distance too I guess), he visits her all the time. Is this more serious than a rebound?

My exes rebound is my cousin. 2 days after we broke up they messed around got a hotel room and blamed alcohol for the reason they messed around but here they are still messing around as far as I know and the messed up part about it is my cousin doesn't even care and she must never have ether to do this to me and shut me out and block me once I found out.

I was in no contact for a month. My granddaughter's first birthday was coming up and she had surgery on her wrist. I had to reach out to find out where the party was because my stepson had to change the venue.
I asked how her surgery went and everything went well and told her good. She asked if I was coming to the party and I told her yes that I had my work switch my day off so I could go. She said good. Told me where it was and told her I'd see her there and I that I hoped she wouldn't be in pain from her surgery too long and she said ok see you there.
Went to the party. Didn't really talk to her or pay attention to her while I was there. Went outside while helping clean up and she was outside. We spoke for a moment. I kept it just "as a friend". Didn't show intrest just had a conversation.
Went back inside. As I was about to leave she says, "Hey babe!" Told me to come back over. Explained that my 6 year old granddaughter would be up from Ga. on the 18th so I'd know she was coming. Told her ok and said goodbyes.
Does her calling me babe mean anything or was it just a force of habit thing? I went immediately back into no contact and it's been a couple days. Holding out until she contacts me.

Weird question. Can this rebound be a bromance? My ex and I broke up two months ago and all of all of a sudden all I hear about is how he has a great new guy friend and they're planning trips together and all our mutual friends adore him... I feel like he's replaced our relationship with a bromance which feels weird. I do also feel like because of this, he's moving on and having fun and I don't feel like there's any room for me to even try to get back together with him. Friendship is good but this one just popped up from nowhere and is so big and loud and woah.

That part about displacement is so true!!! My ex had never lived with any gf before he moved in with me. After we broke up he almost immediately found a new gf and moved in together with her (I didn’t know this until months later through mutual friend). I don’t have him on any social media so idk what his life is like but he’s been contacting me every now and then “wishing me well”. I guess he’s trying to re-create the life he had with me with this new girl but realized that’s not happening 😒

Hi Clay..My ex and I were together for 5 years..thruout our relationship he cheated on me and I always forgave him and took him back. A few years ago he became disabled with MS and lost all of his mobility to walk and even move during this time he became loyal to me due to this disability and I became his caretaker..feeding him..bathing him..doing everyting for him. While he was disabled he became very angry and started taking things out on me..calling me out of my name..etc..But I know it was all due to his disability. Well. I left him 8 months ago because he was still contacting his ex that he cheated on me with once before when he was walking and after I left him he jumped into a rebound with her 3 days later. We have been in contact with each other and he says he loves me and misses me .but now I havent heard from him in 2 weeks. My ex is with some random stranger who I barely know and the stupid thing he expects me to be his friend and because I barely know him he had no idea how I felt to lose my ex then for him to take over my old life with my ex. Actually probably not a very nice person. One of those very odd situations where they completely underestimate me and take me for some complete fool. Together they seem to want to hurt mein the worst way possible and in the end really did take the Mick big time. My so called friends are stupid enough to still stay friends with my ex and seem much more on her side than mine. Now I have a huge distraction like a great job. Well my ex dumped me for this other dude. I think she is seeing me on the side now. Because after we broke up she wants to see me already and slept at my house almost everyday and we had intimate moments a couple of times and she told me that its hard for her to let me go completely. I'm doing just fine but after that my emotions got the best of me and messed up. But I turned it around immediately. And now I can see some improvements I think were connecting emotionally and she told me that she's getting a lil bit bored of this new guy and does'nt know what she wants right now. HI Richard, that is the thing when we jump into a rebound relationship. Sometimes a person would feel that being in a new relationship will resolve the issues but in reality, what they need is to heal and to reflect on why the relationship didn't work. We tend to be confused emotionally after the breakup and by getting into a new relationship without properly healing will just add another confusion. You don't need to convince your ex to go back to the relationship but instead focus on building that connection. so make sure that you have homed in the Advanced Relational Skills that we talk about. Oh wow am really enjoying listening your video, it really make sense to me following many doubts and questions. definetely this also for me. I dumped my ex because of duty schedules and schoo,l its quite unfair because i cut him off straight without explaining and it made too painful and confusing for him. After covid dynamics right now and as everything went on lockdown and stuck, and just staying at home with nothing to do momentarily, so i got trap in fb and happens to stalk my ex and i am not going healthy right now because i start crreeping in his social media fb. I feel am really kinda suppressing the pain that could happening last few months.

Hi Bella, There's no need to really overthink what your ex had said. Take it as it is. It seems like your ex do care for you but it's just that the difference is the current reality of your status in relationship.
