high 5 to Lex who appreciates one of the best drummers ever
👍
Yes indeed. What a powerhouse “Bonzo” was.
Jon was one of the best drummers ever for sure!
She never misses a thing. Great awareness and appreciation.
He was a good drummer, but far from to be called one of the best.
Haha, Brad displays the uncanny ability to stop these songs at the exact point where I would not.
I appreciate that he makes the effort to stop right after something. He stops after a verse, or after the chorus. It’s not like he stops on the middle of a chorus very often. And- he doesn’t pause a solo. I appreciate that.
@@katherinemorelle7115 that's precisely the issue. It's the transitions I'm listening out for. Pausing in the middle of the chorus - the most repetitive and predictable part of a song - would be less distracting.
True dat. 🤣🤣🤣
TRUTH 10,000% LMFAO
I try to tell reactors to always stop mid-verse. To hear a verse winding down could be right next to a crucial transition, and the impact of those transitions are lost when songs are stopped at the end of verses. Same with solos, etc. Seems like mid-verse is the safest option.
I am once again loving Lex's basic love for music. And also Brad's struggle. ❤✌
We really need to get Brad into a 12 step program.... ;-)
@@fewwiggle 😂
Brad - how an insurance actuary sees music.
Brad and Lex epitomize contrast.
Hey Kiersten, you nailed it. That’s hilarious! But true. Enjoy them both.
Lex has some profound insights. I have heard musicians describe Page's soloing style as "Intentionally Messy." The dude just rips it.
And Lex has been introduced to John Bonham's incredible drumming skills !!
I've said to my friends for years he can be so sloppy it makes me cringe, hahaha, they say I'm crazy, yet I still like most of his stuff. Yes, I play guitar. 🤣🤣
They call his playing “choppy” 🎸👍
That ain't mess...that's soul!
@@jamisongugino2887 the way I have put it before is, no one can do sloppy like Jimmy can.
When I hear sloppy from others, it's just sloppy.
Brad trips me out. I find that he takes lyrics very literal. Always think Metaphors when listening to most music. It’s a metaphor unless it’s not
That's cause he listens Rap, he needs to drop some acid, smoke weed for 2+ years, do some mushrooms, get on some Charlie, and some E's and maybe he'll start to understand Rock, Heavy Metal, Psychodelic Rock, Space Rock and every other genre of music other than (C)rap. Lex kinda gets it but still has a long way to go. Why don't you check out Hawkwind!!!
Don't think either one has smoked a joint. He's a freakin robot.
Don't think he knows what a metaphor is.
@@Eugene2736 no he does but the songs that have straight forward lyrics he thinks are metaphors. The songs that are heavy into metaphors he takes it literally.
People keep saying he "listens" to music differently and is analytical but he seems to miss the point of most of the songs.
How can you NOT understand what; "The soul of women was created below" means?
Do you think it means it was made in a basement or in Australia (down under)? Ha!
How can you not know he's referring to Hell?Unbelievable.
@@rsw1227 absofuckinglutely correct brother
I love lex's appreciation for the drums in this one, one of best drummers of all timeee, died way too young.
It cracked me up when she cracked up at a fill, like she intuitively appreciated the delight of it.
It's not hard to get addicted to John Bonham's drumming !!
Lex definitely has the antenna of a musician, hearing music and having a sense for it are different worlds. She'd make a good musician? Can easily see her playing an electric guitar the way solo's light her up.
And he's as dumb as the day is long.
@@brainsareus We're all aware of different things,, but I'm not sure that's the same as being 'dumb.' But your point is well taken. When it comes to music or art: Lex does appear to be some kind of Sherpa of meaning and appreciation for Brad.
Brad is a dingbat robot.
Lex has also stated she has a background in music.
Brad is a good dude. you people are cowards. And yes he does stink at listening music. 😂
But according to my calculations of this channels comment activity
I've come to the conclusion that approximately 87% of ALL Brad & Lex youtube channel subscribers are ........
🤘🤘🤘🤘
She recognized Bonham's greatness, and accuracy right away. What a rocker. One of the earliest heavy metal songs and my personal favorite.
You gotta hear "In my time of dying". One of the best slide guitar songs ever.
It’s a masterpiece!! 🎸🔥🔥
Yeah, or Bonzo's Montreaux/Moby Dick with Bonham's ridiculous drum solo longer than most song!
@@Lowlandlord boring.🤭
A 1920's Gospel/Blues song and one of my favorite songs from the Physical Graffiti album. A Classic 🔥🙏👍❤
God yes
Music is 10 percent hearing it 90 percent feeling it.
Watching Lex groove to a song is a thing of beauty!
Damn straight
Simply put, the greatest rock band of all time!
Brads puzzled look (WTF) Lex's in the groove look (bring it on)
He doesn't listen to the music. He reads it, lol.
@@SearlesHernandez I've never come across anyone like Brad, he is very interesting
Damn Lex nails it every time. And that look on her face, those expressions really communicate her getting it deep inside. While Brad stoically sits there trying to decipher the lyrics. You guys have great chemistry.
yes...Lex "gets it"....and the reason she does is simple, shes a woman and understands and knows the power females have over males...thats just stripped to the bone truth.
If you want another song of theirs about women check out the “The Lemon Song”, phenomenal guitar work as well on that one! Cheers guys great video love this song! 🔥
- Andy
A&A are in the house!!! All you guys need to do a Florida meet-up!!! :-)
Andy, have you and Alex ever heard of Postmodern Jukebox? All they do is covers but . . . . . they do them as if they were recorded in the 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's. Check out their library, pick out a real turd song, something that you really hate and give it a listen. You'll be surprised. By the way, I'm a subscriber to your channel too.
Don’t forget JPJ Bass playing onThat as well

I've always loved how he makes the guitar scream and cry and talk!!
Also, girl problems are a CLASSIC theme of blues music.
Lex learning and loving rock and roll
The girl has rock in her blood but the old man has less rock than Burkina Faso !!
a "devil woman" is a main staple of old blues, which is something these guys really loved to emulate.

Brad: "What is wrong with my girl?"
Absolutely nothing my friend!
Brads what’s wrong with her.
@@jackiepage6120 Nailed that.
Zeppelin has a way of hypnotizing you and drawing you into their little web of deliciousness
I´m so amazed from Lex´s feeling for music..her interpretations about the meanings of the songs and the sounds are always so spot on..it´s a gift/talent usually just very good musicians have....especially by hearing songs the very first time getting all the things in the second where it´s heard. That blows my mind.
She also got Page's style perfectly, a little messy, a little sloppy, always right on the edge of falling apart but making it work and making it sound great.
Lex makes the channel, Brad is a little too stiff for me, dude relax already lol
That girl needs a guitar.
@@ecbenson98 It amazed me when she said that.
Lex listens to music right. Fully immersed and enjoying every second.
Lex, your instincts serve you well. Yes, that drum fill after the bridge was excellent.
And he looks at her like she's crazy. He never appreciates the drums or the Bass, especially on Zeppelin songs.
I don't get it.
Thank you for helping him he cant hear what you do . you go girl ! Great team !😍😍
Iconic song from one of the most iconic bands ever. That bassline is iconic, the wailing vocals are iconic, Bonham spider arms going crazy on the drums. And this from their FIRST ALBUM😱
One of the best cover songs ever!
@@Cosmo-Kramer true the lyrics aren’t totally original in a few of their songs but that’s how they bridged blues and rock so flawlessly and were so influential to the genre.
@@Cosmo-Kramer yeah, but having heard the original…. It’s so different that it’s kinda like a cover song “in name only”. The original is boring. This version is the sexiest song ever performed, imo.
Led Zepp did that with every song they covered, imo. They took an okay song and made it out of this world. The only exception to that is When the Levee Breaks, which was already an amazing song.
They’re like the opposite of Tears for Fears. TfF wrote songs that end up being amazing when covered (Shout 2000, Everybody wants to rule the world, Mad World). Led Zeppelin covers songs that become amazing when they cover them (though they also wrote amazing songs too).
@@katherinemorelle7115 You know your Zeppelin. That's hot.
@@katherinemorelle7115 When the Levee Breaks could be a contender for my favourite Led Zeppelin song. The harmonica/guitar part is hypnotic and the drums are Bonham-classic thunderous. But I agree the covers tend to only provide the lyrics or name, and then Led Zeppelin completely transform the song from folky obscurity to earth-shattering, mind boggling experiences
The thing about this song is it's pure power. When they play this song Whole lotta love it's like they kick your butt up and down the street figuratively speaking
Brad should take a drink or a smoke, I mean loosen up somehow man !
He’s a hip hop guy. He’s not really into rock..
@@TRUMP-2024-STF IT SHOWS
@@TRUMP-2024-STF That explains it. Hip Hop's not really music (generally speaking). It's mostly just lyrics with a backbeat. What's strange about these reviews is he has the lyrics up on the screen and mostly focuses on them but does not get them. Lex gets the music and the lyrics and explains it to him.
@@heliotropezzz333
Zeppelins lyrics aren’t easy to break down.. some are.. like this one.. and some (the blues remakes ) arent.. there are al ton of blues references.. and British idioms..
I’m not anti rap.. I’m my teen years.. it was my music.. I love 90’s rap.. not today’s
Rock isn’t for everyone..
what I wish Brad would do is look up the meaning of the song at the end.. and the band as well..
@@TRUMP-2024-STF For Stairway to Heaven (for instance), Robert Plant now claims not to know or remember the meaning. He said it seemed just to flow to his pen and he said people can make up their own minds what it means. There are some obvious themes in it, but I don't think there's a straight logic from start to finish. It takes its twists and turns, so there will be some of LZ's songs that require personal interpretation and no -one will be 100% sure theirs is right..
The song that change my world for ever! Love & darkness blend perfectly!
I love you guys! But here is literally every reaction

Brad stares with confused look…
Lex sways and shimmies uncontrollably…
Brad: “what is going on?” Or “what are they talking about?”
Lex: “dunno, but this song reminds me of leather and unicorns… it’s like a fuzzy pickle in your ear, know what I mean?”
Brad: “yeah, I guess I do”
A fuzzy pickle 🤣 perfect synopsis but I still can't stop watching their vids.. I just want to give Brad some LSD or something or at least smoke a doink with him
🤣🤣🤣
@@ext93 priceless!
EXACTLY what I wanted to say👍
Brad don't want no pickle--just wants to ride his motor-sickle.
Led zeppelin is the master of the switch! Nobody has come along and done it better! Thats why they are one of the greats if not the greatest rock and roll band!
The combo of Rock and Blues is the best Lex. Especially the way Led Zeppelin does it!
Led Zeppelin songs take you on a journey.
I could write a song about the Titanic hitting that iceberg, Lex would hear everything and get into it and Brad would pause it three words in to ask “ What is this song about though? “. Soak it all in and enjoy the ride a little more. Love you guys 👍
Lol
I'm very analytical, but even I can understand "the cold deep" would refer to the sea. Brad would be completely lost.
Soul of a woman was created below is the most blues thing ever!! Robert was only 19 when he sang this. Zeppelin has the power at every position being 4 master musicians.
LEX: I tell you once and ONLY THIS TIME- Do it your OWN THING! I will love it and get it on a OPEN MIND, OPEN HEAD, AND HEART! You don't need no whipping stone beneath you. Tell me, when you're ready!!!!
Never thought I'd find someone who digs Zeppelin more than me. Here she is.
It’s amazing how John Bonham can transition the drum beat from being high tempo to slow in a split second and still make it work and sound great.
hes a monster at the drums!
That's called technique, Page does it to. A thunderstorm one minute, a whisper the next. Tension and release that's what gives music movement and excitement. It embraces you and you know brings you on a journey especially if you let it and then drops you gently back home.
" Can you play?" In millions of peoples minds, the greatest guitarist ever!!
Perfect example of why Bonzo was the greatest drummer that has ever lived.
When the levee breaks!
Yes, The Mighty MIGHTY Zeppelin! Blues at it`s best!
These two are perfect for this gig. Brad is a literalist who struggles with metaphors and Lex is a deep thinker who intuitively sees the broader message. This channel would not be as enjoyable without that dynamic. The looks on thier faces say everything about how they process the music.
oh i am stunned with this girl , she feels every lick , every beat , love her joyful face . keep on rocking girl . btw i am exactly the same as you , feeling every lick and beat through my brain and body :)
Brad looks at Lex like she’s nuts. He is right though, she gets the music right away. She feels the emotion in the music. I don’t know how Brad isn’t move by this stuff.
He may just be dazed and confused!
@@geminiguy2013 It would help Brad’s appreciation if he were.
@@analogblues Brad seems that he's way over his head in most reactions (he overanalyzes instead of letting the music reaches his soul)....Lex on the other hand is tuned in and listening with her soul and gets it.
Lex, thanks for explaining this song Brad! Brad, C"MON MAN! :-)
One of the greatest albums and songs of all time, they freaked us out with the first 2 Zeppelin albums in 1969, we had heard nothing quite like them and they set a standard for hard rock that has never been topped. Try How Many Times from the same first album, it is right there. With this on! 🎸
Man, Lex's instant reaction to the bonham fill at 7:20. For a first time listen to the track, that is so cool. Hah then brad just looks at her looking completely confused. She gets it. Not to mention her general intuition with lyrics and concepts.
LEX…….you got it DOWN! You’re a natural. You feel the music and grab the meaning better than most. Respect!
They are magnificent! Jimmy plays guitar with a cello bow in the middle of this to make the eerie sounds!
Led Zeppelin were the Masters of linking the instruments to the core of the lyrics. The song is Dazed and Confused and this is reflected in both the lyrics and the instruments. Messy is a great perception. Luv ya reactions.
Jimmy Page was known for, as Lex put it, "intentionally messy" guitar solos. He often plays solos using what is known as *staccato* in music theory, which means the notes are abruptly stopped before the next note is played instead of a note smoothly flowing into the next.
For the sake of knowing - Jimmy also did the theme for the film Death Wish staring Charles Bronson.
Brad the constant frown, Lex the constant smile... guess who appears to enjoy the music more
I love watching you two listen to early rock & blues like Led Zeppelin. These guys are raw. No machines to fix any flaws. Not only that... a lot of this music was made to get high to. Be it weed, acid or heroin. I can remember doing my thing. Putting on the earphones and Led Zeppelin, early Grand Funk or Black Sabbath would take you to a whole other place. BTW... I love watching Lex get into it. Brad, your more analytical, but Lex is FEELING IT. You guys rock!!
Oh yeah man I'm high as shit discovering this album for the first time officially and its going good 🤣 thc edibles and Led Zepp are starting my morning of great
The conversation between Robert Plant's Voice and Jimmy Pages guitar is on a whole other level.
I love how he does this musical dance with he a-ing with Jimmy Page on his guitar.
7:21 lex appreciates a good drum fill hahaha
Did you know that this is a cover. Originally sang by Jake Holmes, they where released 2yrs apart 1967 then again in 1969
Also The Yardbirds played this often during live gigs when Jimmy Page was in the band pre Zeppelin.
Wow… never new! Thank you 🙏🏼💞
@@alanchristie368 there's a video on UA-cam of them playing it.

It’s clear Lex is a rocker Brad is not into rock- he never looks the least bit excited
Lex is sitting at home enjoying music. Brad love ya man, you are so close and we're all rooting for you to win the race.

@David McKenzie. Quite. How about Brad does his own literature based reaction channel and leave the music to Lex?
Personally i care first about music, the sound, the melody, the vocals, then i figure out what the lyrics is about, that’s my attitude to music in general! I don’t care much about lyrics, just for the sake if knowing. But sometimes the lyrics are very honest, courageous, rebel, and relatable, but this is rarely happens to me to care about lyrics that much!!
I love you Brad for your ability to listen to Lex many men do not have that quality, much respect.
Y'all NEED to experience "No Quarter" or "When The Levee Breaks" or "Achilles Last Stand" all by Led Zeppelin
Yes! Achilles Last Stand is my fave.
Been listening since I was 7...I'm 51 now. My dad raised me right. There is none better.
One of my fave LZ songs. Complex. Each member shines strong. Lex gets it good. She's always smiling and swaying to these classic rock bands. Too bad you both are too young to have seen bands like this LIVE‼️.Lex would have been carried out on a stretcher😊 Mind blown.
I LOVE Lex ! She is so fun! Brad is a very lucky man .
Dang this song is so good. Force of nature.
Drums in the song are awesome
The more I see Lex react to guitar-based music (note the intentional lack of specific genre 😉) the more I think she'd make a great musician herself. She really understand the feel of the music! Pick up an instrument, practice and master the basics and anyone can be good, but feel is what will take you to the next level 😎
Brad, don’t change a thing, you are analytical and that is a blessing
Lex , you are so sensitive. Great analysis in every video. Congratulations. And you Brad, don't be afraid, let yourself float down stream.
One of my favorite Zeppelin songs is The Rain Song. So chill.
I love how Lex gets so deep into the music! Her man STAYS with that "confused" look though🤣
"Intentionally messy"...She picked that right up.
Lex your Shirt shows how you admire all different kinds of music. This is a wonderful song
Check out the live version from their movie "The Song Remains the Same" it 29 minutes long, even has a fantasy sequence for Jimi Page,
Lex it will blow your mind 😉
I've got to say that you two are really great to watch together. Brad is analytical and focuses on lyrics and tempo, while Lex is such a free spirit. Zeppelin is one of those bands that you really need to close your eyes and let them carry you to another place. Reading lyrics only causes you to miss the musical genius that inhabits all of their material. The layering tends to disorient the listener when they try to predict where the music is going. This band is in a class all to themselves. There will never be another that even comes close.
Love how Lex is getting into the greatest rock band EVER!!
Love this channel - Lex, your smile makes the world brighter
"That solo was messy but I liked it. It was intentionally messy." Welcome to Jimmy Page. One of my favorite guitarist and all around musician ever.
The music and lyric represent so well what it is to be dazed and confused.
In blues music it's a convention to sing about troubles and problems -- especially in love. Most of these Zeppelin songs are based on really old blues songs. It doesn't mean Robert Plant actually had the same problems in real life like he's singing about.
Your point is well taken regarding a number of Zep tunes, but it does not apply to this track, which is a cover of a 1967 song by a young, white American folk-rock artist, Jake Holmes.
@@Cosmo-Kramer different music, melody, vibe, dynamics, transitions!! Maybe just the lyrics are the same i don’t know! I don’t care much about lyrics
@@osamaqtaitat I'm sorry, but how does any of that relate to my comment?
@@Cosmo-Kramer the version of hake holmes is totally different than zeppelin’s, especially and more importantly the music, the melody, the structure, the vocals.
@@osamaqtaitat That still has nothing to do with my comment. I merely pointed out to the OP that this song is *not* a cover of an old blues song, but rather one from just two years earlier written and performed by a young, white American guy. I never said anything about the similarity or dissimilarity between the original song and Zep's cover, so I don't know why you even addressed me in the first place with your opinions on that--they aren't relevant to my comment.
I saw Led Zeppelin in concert twice when they did this song- 1969 and 1970. It was electrifying in person.
Jimmy Page used a violin bow on this track, giving the guitar those eerie vibes.

"Man that blues just slaps different" - Lex
I swear it is weird seeing the slow conversion of Lex into a lady of rock. For some reason it reminds me of being a teenager and falling in love with the music while my best friend didn’t quite get it, but was a great sport and an even greater friend for coming along on the ride with me anyway.
She didn’t know. Now she does. She is a Led
Zeppelin fan from now on
Great reaction, as usual. Yes Brad, Lex is right to follow the vibe (and be right 99% of the time!), rather than over-focus on the meaning of the lyrics only a minute into a song. We never did that~ Back in the day, we focused on the vibe, and sometimes (not always!) eventually figured out what the lyrics might mean...
And Lex: a principal theme in blues music going back a century or more -- the negative side of relationships. So, the "Evil Ways" of Santana, and the revelation that "...the soul of a woman is created below." of this Zepp song is merely following a rich tradition. Listen to Billie Holiday to see that it goes both ways, with her bemoaning her "man"!
Yep, that's how you listen on the radio. You don't read the lyrics :)
It does kind of sadden me, that he doesn't get into it like she does.. I feel he just doesn't want to...
I think it's just because the music he grew up with... Music was written a certain way... And it was about the way they made their every day feelings be out out into direct format.. just plain...
It wasnt that way back then..
Personally i care first about music, the sound, the melody, the vocals, then i figure out what the lyrics is about, that’s my attitude to music in general!
