Those wolf (glom-spy) gits, think you can use them for 40k spacewolfs? Or else, a Wolf-Orc force to attack the Spacewolfs? As for Astra Militia, just play inquisition, then all army units, are game.
The Cadian heavy weapons teams used to be on 60mm bases, but are now on 50mm, so you're probably right thinking the Krieg teams are on 50mms too. It's the only model I can think of where the base size was reduced when a new kit came out.
In the past, militaries would invent new words to describe new things. Siege. Navy. Etc Nowadays we just stretch the definitions. Fighting in space? Yeah, that's navy. Helicopters? Uhhh, Calvary.
Fun fact: The screw drives are something both the Soviets and US militaries dabbled with for an all terrain type transport during the 50s-60s. Was abandoned due to conventional wheels winning out bc theyre just cheaper lol.
A screwmaran is more efficient for certain types of terrain or weather, such as the _распутица_ in Russia, the 'time of no roads', when everything turns to muck, but for solid terrain, wheels are both more efficient and allow faster travel. They're a special-case solution to a specific problem, and don't work well outside of that application.
I adore the lore behind the Frazzlegits already from the little blurb the Community article provided. The sun is a huge bully who pushes their beloved Bad Moon around, so in proper gobbo fashion, clearly it’s the ideal all gitz should aspire to lmao. I’m curious to see whether they actually try to make the lore match up with the gameplay for the Frazzlegits accordingly. Maybe Droggz could have a once-per-game ability like Skragrott, but instead of being able to determine whether the Bad Moon stays still or moves, it could instead have the ability to change the Moon’s path altogether. That way you could have a bit more reactive control over your core faction ability!
Those flying gobbos are Doom Divers. They were in WHFB, and the Goblin team in Blood Bowl still has them. But they are thrown by Trolls, not a catapult.
You will have a hard time using the new Gitz models for Old World as they are sculpted for the bigger scale in AoS. I had the same thought until I realized I would have to base the doom diver onto something like 100x160 to fit.
I’ve always liked the Armageddon Steel Legion since I read Helsreach(a year ago) so seeing these Death Korps models I’m happy since I can now use actually accurate models for my army instead of finding proxies or buying the original metal ones.
Man, when you said World Eaters will only get four kits...I felt that. It's the reason I ended up giving up on that army. It wasn't fun for me to paint the same handful of models over and over.
It sucks because they also just... Forgot how to use so many cool stuff they had when they were still normal chaos space marines, rules wise. No jump packs, frex
@AbelDuviant Right? I'm in the midst of repainting former World Eaters now since the models are no longer legal. I'm slowly putting together an Undivided army to try and prevent this in the future.
@@AbelDuviant It sucks even more because GW will probably just ignore our faction's existence now, as they have done for the other God Legions. 1kSons have had 1 whole model after 8+ years... DG at least got lucky being the main 'antagonist faction' in 8th, but again, got the 1 model treatment early on in 9th... SO COOL that GW is coming out with new models but they can't print the ones that are already on their website that I've been trying to get for over a year!! Love this
Also the issue currently with indirect fire for the guard is that like half the stratigems in our index revolved around indirect fire, now that they hit flat on a 4 our stratigems are useless and we’ve had to rely on only core strats.

I like the new Krig kits but knowing what you see is likely all you get is just an upsell to much older guard kits. Sisters were and are amazing because everything was new. A complete clean start.

I really really really wish that they made these gobbos part of orruk warclans with the kruelboyz, and left the IJ and GSG alone lol. They would look so good together.
Hey Eons, in that heresy legion mkVI tactical squid set, you get two Mohawks, can they be used for shoulderpad trims or so? Leontus model is funny because he's literally emperor Aurelian as portrayed in Rome II Total War. And you know, Aurelian saved one world in the past, he can save a million more in the grim future.
As far as the Kreig go I hope they release the Killteam dudes as a Cadian Shock Troops box, so people can actually field their battleline guys. They didnt mention it when they said Heavy Weapons and Command Squar are coming after afaik.
The goblins look amazing! They do suffer from Age-of-Sigmar-itis though, where the model would look best if you left half of the extra crap on it in the box.
I think the new wolf riders as new subfaction looks cool and i like that GW adds more goblins. The problem as you said in the video is the name of faction. Gloomspite Gitz should be the name of subfaction now same as the name of new wolf riders, but the name of a faction shoul be "Gobos" or somethin like that (same as we have with orruks). I like that they split goblins and orcs. This is what it always was in fantasy. Forest goblins (had the spider riders), Night Goblins (now Gloomspite), Common Goblins (had the Wolf riders and such)
i think im totally fine w the new gitmob being part of the gloomspites! lets a brand new army have a lot more unit options (even if theyll prolly need some converting to fit in) - vs smth like world eaters or votann just being stranded with like 5 units to their name. allows for much more varied armies n options ykno. also, less factions total means less books to buy for everyone!
Honestly, the new gloomspite gitz made me realize that… I love gloomspite gitz ! I’m probably going to start my own army soon ! I’d like to try to unify the new and the old models in one scheme, we’ll see I guess !
The rule of cool, pick a faction you think looks the best and buy a unit box. If you want to start with a small force the Combat Patrol sets are perfect to dip a toe in. If you are looking for ready out of the box game the Space Marine vs Tyranid set is good if you want to play with a friend who doesn't have an army. Kill Team is a different game in the same universe but less models in a skirmish setting which is also perfect for getting a friend into the hobby/game with you. In my opinion there isn't a good or bad way to start 40k or Warhammer in general, just pick something up and have fun!
Gloomspite Gitz feels like a faction made of subfactions. You’ve got the Gretchen, Troggs, Squigs, Spiders and now Wolves. I love the first three but can’t be bothered with spiders. No solid option on the wolves yet
I feel like the gun platform for the Krieg with the piss-bottle launcher is MOST likely a flame wall template. I dont know why, it feels like that would be a thing. Something that throws down a literaly wall of flame in multiple terrain-blocking AoEs. If it isnt, it would be a fun rule none the less to have too, gives it more choice and flexibility to the unit.
The ship-mounted launcher is a "hedgehog" launcher, which are essentially just an array of spigot mortars; that looks more like an artillery-based version of a Russian 'Katyusha' launcher or a German Nebelwerfer, both of which fire free-flight rockets. Having that sort of artillery trail for a rocket weapon, though, seems heavy-handed and excessive (although thereby playing hard into the 40k esthetic), because there's no recoil that has to be absorbed.
On the Orcs topic they've said ironjawz and kruel boys are splitting into separate factions, so I can see them doing that with these new wolf gitz but I personally don't like the wolf gitz for the reason they don't feel like the gitz we know, it's like the missing link between kruel boys and gloomspite 😅
Valrak's rumors have GK's getting a full refresh likely in 11th edition. If I had to hedge any bets on the for 10th, I'd be laying odds on a new re-scaled Kaldor Drago model for the shiny bois, in fitting with the "Bigger Termies" theme thus far in 10th ;-)

Just off the top of my head, the Penitent Engine base got smaller when the model was updated
Fun Fact: Helicopters do actually count as cavalry in modern combat XD it may not feel right but they are considered as the modern day equivalent
Reminds me of OG civilization and how upgrading your knights eventually turned them into helicopters.
In an alternate reality there is a Apache helicopter making fun of another helicopter identifying as a horse.

15:48 that’s a BAT WING LOONY LOBBA!!! My favorite Gobbo army model from WFB to play. Pure awesomeness!!!!!

New gitz should have been in with orrucks so you could run a proper orc and gobbo army.
It isn't, it's just a bunch of rockets. The article said what everything was
The ship-mounted launcher is a "hedgehog" launcher, which are essentially just an array of spigot mortars; that looks more like an artillery-based version of a Russian 'Katyusha' launcher or a German Nebelwerfer, both of which fire free-flight rockets. Having that sort of artillery trail for a rocket weapon, though, seems heavy-handed and excessive (although thereby playing hard into the 40k esthetic), because there's no recoil that has to be absorbed.
I really like the detail with the horse having the gas mask because it actually was what the Germans did during WW1.
Please paint the iron snakes next
These new gitz are the Gitmob. Glareface Frazzlegit is their name for the sun, who they hate.
Squighogs = best cav
Squighog boyz I believe count as your riding a creature calvary.
Black templars aren't the poster boys of Space Marines. That honor still lays with the Ultramarines
No new Greyknight models?! Im disapointed. Thought with the new Codex they tease us with some nice stuff
I wonder if we'll see a Ragnarok siege tank for the krieg.
I some times pretend my name is Shawn and that your talking to me about me 😂 baha
My friend is getting into imperial guard and he refuses to look into the krieg and it ticks me off
