Season 6 Super Brawl Fantasy Draft:
The Laydown:
Welcome to fantasy draft for season 6 you losers. Each person will draft 11 characters to play the field much like our favorite pig skin game of Football. The first 6 will be picked in rounds according to each player. Then, the next 5 will be drafted at random. In the pool will be both heroes and villains with different “stat blocks” on how to acquire points, again much like football fantasy. Below are the point acquisition systems for heroes and villains, respectively. LET'S GET READY TO ROCK!

While I love MHA the Empire strikes back, I personally feel that MHA The curse of the Black Pearl is my fav 3rd MHA movie. When in that movie, Deku said "it's One for All-ing time" and One for All'ed all over the place, I had a tear in my eye.
Easly Midoriya in the Dekuverse , that final fight when all of Deku's parallel copies passing one for all to eachother to defeat the evil version of Deku was amazing

I notice a lot of people are misunderstanding how Tartarus works or how erculian of a task it actually was to be able to take it down the way they did.
First, the major prisoners are located more than 500 meters below the water's surface.
So if the prison's higher levels collapsed from Decay or Machia the prisoners would be crushed by the pressure of being at such depth.
Secondly, all the prisoners are cut out from the outside world and prisoners have their brainwaves monitored, so that they can't use quirks or they will be shot.
If the primary generators shut down, there is only a 3 second lag before the backups turn on.
All for One's plan went like this :
The initial assault of the Nomus was to keep the prison's defences occupied.
Once Shiggy located All for One with Search, he used an EMP to disable the primary generators, which let All for One free to use his quirks for 3 seconds before the backups would start the monitoring again.
All for One then used a second EMP wave from the inside that stopped the backup generators from activating and opened the cell doors to let all the other inmates escape.
Basically the only way to escape the prison is to have two people launching a coordinated EMP blast from inside and outside at the same time, which could only be achieved because All for One has a connection with his vestage, so he knew when the power would stop for those 3 seconds.
Literally they could not have done it any other way.
Tartarus did all they could, but you can't blame them for not thinking about this possible outcome, in normal circumstances it's impossible to achieve.

Excellent breakdown of the defenses and the plan, and yes exactly: the ONLY REASON this worked is the freaky connection he shares with Shiggy's brain, and thus the ability to coordinate on a split-second timeline. This literally should not have been possible, and there was pretty much no way to defend against it. I feel like Horikoshi actually did a fantastic job of building:
- a prison that no one can escape from, and
- the one impossible circumstance that would actually allow escape
And making both make perfect sense in the narrative
Unrelated, but this shows how strong of a weapon communication is
Exactly! But I don't understand why people are thinking that. All for One literally said in the episode that he could not have escaped without having perfect synchronicity. And the Tartarus guards said someone just did an EMP attack from the inside as well, it should be simple to put together.
I am glad the Custodians got this.
They definitely nailed the atmosphere and tone this episode VERY WELL. Especially with the prison break

This season has been phenomenal. People don’t have the right to complain about this season in any way, shape, or form because bones really redeemed themselves from the hate they got from season 5.👏👏👏

@@gr8atness if you want to like something enough like me then you can look past a slightly bad episode. It had some VERY BADLY animated moments. But it also had some VERY WELL animated moments as well. I still call episode 9 an 8/10 episode. I literally couldn’t care less about the badly animated seconds of the episode.
The question about 'Shigaraki fighting back' was sorta already answered in earlier episodes by AFO himself. The more Shigaraki holds on to his negative emotions (like hatred) and the identity AFO raised him into (a villain, 'Symbol of Fear'), the stronger AFO grows and the easier it's for him to overpower Tomura. Shigaraki's hatred (even towards AFO himself) feeds vestige!AFO and fuels the possession process. AFO is a parasite that feeds off of other's misery, both metaphorically and literally.

A shot of All For One's dump truck is not an anime original addition I thought we'd get. But here we are. All jokes aside, Spinner deserves some credit. He felt comfortable enough to grab Tomura(a man who could decay him in a second) by the collar. And THEN he talked back to the Demon Lord TWICE. And basically told him that he's not the guy he wants. Our boy Spinner has nerves of steel.
Spinner. He's a normal guy. But his quirk makes him look like a lizard. And people discriminated against him for that. When he first joined the League, he was all about Stain. But as time went on, he slowly found himself being more comfortable stepping away from Stain and seeing what Shigaraki could do. To the point where they bonded together with video games and fought together in MVA. Shigaraki has never treated Spinner as lesser because of his quirk. He never forced Twice to duplicate himself when he had the mental block. He told Toga he would avoid destroying things she loved. He lets Dabi do as he pleases. He was worried about Compress leaping to fight Overhaul. Shigaraki treats the members of his team as equals. Family. Regardless of their backgrounds. Which is why Spinner appreciated him so much. So when AFO decides to suddenly try to put himself in his body, Spinner is immediately opposed.
Moving on, we have a prison break episode. Stain, Moonfish, Muscular, Overhaul. All freed. It's a good thing the prison break happened before Machia was able to be transferred. Because imagine if after all of the effort to put this man to sleep, AFO just immediately breaks him out again. But even without Machia, having several near high ends and two people with the AFO quirk is still super dangerous. Not to mention the rest of the League.
One thing I think the anime left out is that before AFO wraps Tomura up, he actually tries to decay AFO's vestige for a third time. AFO constantly talks about how Tomura always surpasses his expectations. And that boy isn't going to give his body up without a massive fight. I have a feeling underestimating Tomura's tenacity is going to be his downfall.
One thing to note is that the Tomura/AFO situation might get a bit confusing. In the manga, Tomura tends to use the phrase, "Ore" when referring to himself. Whereas AFO tends to use the more polite, "Boku". And as we saw in this episode, sometimes Tomura or AFO will randomly grab control of the body in the middle of a sentence. And sometimes they even speak at the same time. Unlike the manga, there isn't a translator or italics to show a differentiation between Ore and Boku. So it might be a bit difficult to tell if it's Tomura talking, AFO talking or both talking at first.
Bruh, you guys are like the only ones who actually remembered Moonfish, not to mention all the others; it's why I really like watching your reactions, you don't forget anything between viewings - and your edits are hilarious 😂
The anime didn't show it, but it's heavily implied Chimera was among the villains that escaped Tartarus.
If deku is somehow able to fight in this arc i hope we see deku vs muscular rematch
You know what would be a fun discussion? Have a list of everyone at UA and discuss WHY each person would be the UA traitor, like “Sato would be the traitor for this reason, suneater would be the traitor for that reason” etc.

It's often overshadowed by the War arc because of how much insane stuff is in that arc, but I still really love this next arc as well (the War arc isn't technically over yet, despite the War itself being over). I think y'all are just overlooking the mention of how powerful Moonfish was in season 3. He was taking on Bakugo + Todoroki at the same time & gaining ground. The only real reason why he didn't beat them was because Dark Shadow at full power showed up.

I’m just going to keep bringing this up. Favorite arc in MHA. Bar none. My old favorite was the final exams in season 2. (The whole training arc, not individual episodes being awesome to the depths of everyone’s soul.)
So one of the things people don’t give AFO credit for. He is the cliche ultimate evil that wants to take over the whole world. People reject that kind of character OUTRIGHT. But he avoids EVERY issue people have with this type of character. One of the issues they always have is taking over the world. Every ultimate evil like him and I mean EVERY one. Has 1 of two problems. Their plan either makes no sense and was never going to work in the 1st place. Or the size and scope of who they are is so gigantic that it doesn’t matter to the point it kinda derails the value of taking over Earth. Look at Freeza or…I don’t know. Dr. Doofenshmirtz. (He’s a play on the villains that make no sense, but it still holds well for the type of evil those kinds of characters are.) Maybe Father from Codename Kids Next Door? Freeza is so far along in a galactic empire that the value of a PLANET is meaningless. (Any god type falls under this too.) And the nonsense kind you look at their plan and say…that DEFINITELY won’t get you the world. That’ll just make you an ass. AFO, COMPLETELY avoids that. He’s all powerful and has a god quirk with infinite potential. But everything isn’t in the palm of his hand. He acknowledges that some places CAN be beyond his reach. But with what he has, you know he ABSOLUTELY could still takeover the globe. It’d be a challenge, and he’d have to earn it by playing his cards right, but you sit there thinking “Yeah. He could ABSOLUTELY do it.” Most of these types have no backstory and are entirely lore based. AFO has one, but he makes it not matter by making the active CHOICE. (Much like the biblical Devil himself.) And his personality as a Dark Empath fits both of these AWESOME. It’s true there are few story tropes more done to death than the ultimate evil, but AFO is BAR NONE the best one. And this jailbreak is the perfect example.
We watch helplessly as EVERY villain comes charging out of prison. (And as you would have assumed, the guardian heroes are the Greek guardians of Tartarus themselves. RIP) And this gives AFO SO much to work with because these people are MORE than happy to make their deals with the devil. XD and I totally get why you’d be questioning why Moonfish the cannibal SPECIFICALLY hasn’t been executed yet. That’s as guilty as it gets and unlike AFO you know for sure you can execute him, AFO absolutely could have a quirk that prevents that as a contingency. (He was already confirmed to be on death row last we saw him.) Overhaul is broken from having Shigaraki lopped off his arms, Muscular is the same as ever, (good. He’s honestly an entertaining insane man.) and Stain…is an interesting one. He would put his life on the line to save another in the name of his convictions in a HEARTBEAT. But also do the opposite. And we don’t know how he would respond to this. He wanted society to acknowledge and change to his will that would get heroes to be more serious. This is not within his mold. And mystery purple hair. I LOVE her design. We’ll cover her another day as I’m sure you’ll imagine. Not to mention SO many more prisoners. Machia is still restrained. And the MLA executives are still restrained. (Though it’s not at all wrong to suspect neither are done yet.) This was sheer chaos and I LOVE it.
And Spinner…is sitting there stunned that his boss and friend are now someone else. He didn’t make the deal with the devil. He hasn’t killed anyone. He’s a lost soul who wants to be in a place of belonging. And this is the only place that is offering him. And this shakes him to his core. In the manga AFO calls him the future king. And for the sake of a chess analogy, the king isn’t the pawn, it’s even MORE useless. The pawn can be anything it wants to be if they make it far. The king has to stop EVERYTHING to protect itself and surrenders the whole army when cornered. And that’s my response to anyone that believes they are the kings of the board.
Bakugo’s 1st thought being everyone else is another huge jump for his development. He’s spitting up blood and yanking everyone everywhere. But he HAS to confirm people’s well being. (I’m paying close attention to how he acts because it’s important I hear him right.)
Gran Torino is done. Not dead, but after 5 or so hits from AFO himself, he HAS to retire. No ifs ands or buts.
The public is FURIOUS and needs the top heroes to answer for EVERYTHING here. And it’s to the point we see Fuyumi, AND Natsuo come to talk to Shoto and of course Endeavor…but you can’t have such a conversation without the other side. And it’s such a shock we are seeing the build to this. I never in a MILLION years expected this setup. All I’ll say is…she’s out.
Lastly we have Deku. He’s down. No sign of waking. He’s comatose DAYS after and it’s increasing. All-Might is heartbreaking to see at his side. This is what you taught him to be All-Might, but you are needed as a dad right now more than EVER. It’s true you’re always the better dad compared to any semblance of a teacher. And he BADLY needs a good teacher for OFA. But he needs his dad more in this moment. The only thing that would break my heart more is if Uraraka were on the other side of the bed holding Deku’s other cast waiting for him to wake up. She’s DEFINITELY the type to do that. And shes even herself talked to Deku about hospital injuries and she takes it on herself to encourage him but tell him to rest. Both after Stain and after the summer camp arc.
Everything is breaking before our eyes. There’s only one way to go and that’s forward. GOD I love this arc.

Sometimes you say something as a joke, and it hits a bit too close to the manga...
Can't wait for the longer discussion. This was a great episode, and definitely showed the unrest going on in society now, which is likely just going to be worst with AFO and the jailbreakers all loose. And many top heroes either dead or severely injured because of the raids, while AFO is continuing to grow his army of followers.
Next week's episode should be interesting too.

I love how this awakening and breakout occurred in a single day....AFO/Shiggy lost all but 132 of the 100,000+ army that he proceeds to lose and just says "screw the army bs im getting the walking disasters in Tartarus"

I wish Tartarus was shown to be more imposing than that. It kind of just crumbled. Useless uninteresting guards, two placeholder heroes that just hold guns. Standard mechs. Some villains should have been killed escaping. A nuklear fail safe should have been barely stopped at the last moment...
I actually agree that there should have been some on site "last resort" option. All For One could have easily done and All For One thingy to make it Inert but it should still have been there.
I agree, but also you have one of the most powerful people on the whole planet breaking in, and then another breaking out (both of which have EMPs) while freeing all the prisoners at the same time, along with a whole army of Nomus who could each give the country's top heroes a challenge, and the main guy breaking in can destroy anything he touches.
I definitely agree that there probably should've been some last resort thing, but I don't think really anything will come across as imposing when they're up against what I just described above

I know you guys have been spoiled on certain things. You can't be on the internet and be involved in a popular anime community and not be spoiled. You don't just randomly guess certain things coming up without having been hinted something about it from spoilers. Whether that be seeing a thumbnail on UA-cam or randomly searching for something about MHA and getting hinted at something or just spoiled through twitter since everyone on twitter loves openly talking about spoilers and the manga on twitter in particular.
