Going to visit Reno either this year or next year. Plan on staying at the Eldorado. Don't like sushi. The only fish I like uncooked is a can of tuna. Don't eat pork. Be staying downtown Reno. Could I walk to Beefies from the Eldorado? Could I walk to twisted fork from the Eldorado? Is Butchers Kitchen walkable from the Eldorado Hotel?
Beefies would be a long walk, just take an uber. Butchers kitchen is probably 12-15 min drive away and twisted fork is 20-25 minutes away by driving. I hope you enjoy your trip when you make it out here!
Sushi in Reno is ok at best. All sushi is cut so thin its kinda a rip off. Tokyo is one of them. Most places out of northern nevada actually have a sushi chef cutting the fish in front of you, unlike Reno, where it is already pre cut fish for the kid putting your roll together.
Thanks for your input, Glenn. It doesn’t compare to fish in Kona where I grew up, but it isn’t bad at all. Can’t get what you can’t get, so I’ll still be happy with $25-32 all you can eat here in Reno.
We don’t have a dim sum place that you could compare to places in Sacramento. You could try Ijji in South Reno, their ramen is decent and so is Minatos.
Right on picks (except for Flowing Tide, but I am not a drinker). Butchers BBQ.. no doubt the best! Why go to Dickies or Famous Daves? Sad to say Rapscallions OOB... long my favorite fine dining experience. Need to find a replacement.
Tokyo Sushi is the best Sushi restaurant in town! I used to go there with my friends when I was studying at UNR. If people also like Korean BBQ, then Ijji 4 at McCarran Blvd is the place to go!
I've been going to Tokyo sushi for years and it's still my favorite :). You are right, Ijji4 is great for KBBQ, I also like Siu in Sparks for my KBBQ fix!
About Loco Ono..."Fairly fresh" is not exactly a ringing endorsement of a restaurant's fish offerings. If it can't be described as FRESH without qualification, I'm not interested. There are too many other options on your list.
Good point, but I'm originally from Hawaii Mikey. So, anything but fish from Hawaii is fairly fresh to me. Because most fish is frozen these days. Reno surprisingly has some pretty good sushi, though.
I always look forward to your videos.
Thank you, Mark! I'm glad you enjoy my videos, it means a lot!!
Woop Woop!!
My favorite place to eat was The Cal Neva
Glad you enjoyed it! What did you like at the cal Neva?
@@DavidTully775 my favorite food was breakfast

Banh Mi at 999 tastes a lot like Lee sandwich
I used to frequent Lee’s a lot when I lived in Vegas!
Thanks for the suggestions!
You’re welcome!

Any good recommendations for soup dumplings/dim sum?

@@retiredminimalist1937 I agree, flowing tide was just a fun one to throw in there and they have many locations, which makes it easy for people. 😃👍
Any good kabab Arabian restaurants in Reno?
You could try Aladdin’s Market and kitchen on Holcomb.
@@DavidTully775 thank you!

Awesome, enjoy! Another great Mexican spot is tacos los campesinos!
Try Albitas. Way better then Anna's.
David I looking forward to dining at most of the restaurants you mentioned. In particular I look forward to trying Butcher's Kitchen Char-B-Que.
Let me know what you think once you try them!
