Started going to grad school here at unr after working/moving here from MS for a health care job. Anyway I’m 3 years in and love it here. My parents visited and literally asked, “why the hell is everyone so happy here?” This place is a gem that you’ll only appreciate it. Sure it’s slower but man it’s so positive here I love it. Also officially a black diamond season pass fanatic skier as well which I never even tried until I moved here.
Really enjoyed your video, fun to watch! Moved to the Bay Area 5yrs. ago from Bozeman Mt. been wanting to relocate ever since Lol! Looking at a few locations & just coming across Reno; how is the massage industry there (local day spas) Energy bodywork like reiki, cranial sacral therapy or not too much??💆♀️🧘♀️🙏
We live in Michigan..love it right by a big lake..our son and his wife moved to Reno because he was able to get a good job at the huge hospital there. They love hiking, seeing all of the sites near them...
Escaped Misery (KCMO) about 30 years ago for Reno and have never regretted it! I love that we are so close to many amazing places! I also love the lack of bugs and there is always something going on! Great content!

Reno is more dangerous than 90% of US cities, funny there's no mention of this. Oh yeah, you're a real estate agent in Reno Insane amount of crime and drugs. The amount of meth headed scary people is disturbing. Yes some good people are trying to improve the place, but let's get real it's not great in Reno. Lake Tahoe is much nicer.
Not sure where those stats come from and if people are having a hard time affording Reno I’m sure things are more affordable at the Lake. It’s a great place to live and you can disagree but I and so many others love it here.
@@shawnsmith2542 lovely comment and you are so wrong and that has nothing to do with me being a Realtor. Been here 36 years and yes it’s more crowded but it is a great place to live. Let me know where you live or the other amazing cities you prefer?
@LivingInRenoTahoe I'm actually more curious as to what metric you are using to consider this area amazing? The educational system in Reno is undeniably one of the worst in the country. I wouldn't consider being in proximity of Tahoe as a positive. It's an overcrowded ecological nightmare. The cost of living is 5% higher than the national average for little or no amenities like surface street plowing in winter. The pathetically antiquated highway system that was just newly constructed still can't handle the traffic from over developing the north valleys. I could go on forever about the negatives of this area, but the bottom line my man, is this area is decent if you have money. But with Nevada's entire economy being based on the exploitation of humans, I wouldn't call this a good place to live for a normal blue-collar person.
@@shawnsmith2542 I base this all on that I have lived here the last 36 years, had kids go to the schools here and I drive on the roads everyday. They are building more lanes on the highway for the north valleys and pyramid highway. Do you live here or do you just read negative news? Also, what cities are better? Nobody ever answers that for me they do what you did and just put down Northern Nevada. Go watch some of my other videos addressing most of what you mentioned. Thanks for commenting and having an opinion I just completely disagree.
@LivingInRenoTahoe I'm in Fernley. And probably the closest comparable city would be SLC, and let's be real. Besides state taxes, which never really bothered me, because you could see exactly what it was being spent on. But the Salt Lake valley is shades better in almost every way than the Reno metro area. Yes, rural Nevada is beautiful, and has some decent outdoor recreation, which is also quickly becoming over crowded as well. But the population centers are a gentrified dump, there is no way to justify a $600k median home price in this area.
@@shawnsmith2542 I know multiple realtors in SLC and have been there many times. Very good comparison but it has issues as well. More people for sure and depending on your religion there it can be a concern as well. Everywhere has its issues but the home prices are Bet getting cheaper here or there.
