As an archaeologist who owns a Jeep Wrangler, I really enjoy the mix of offroading and history in these videos.
I really like this new series just watched all 11 episodes in one sitting. I hope we will see both more adventures with Tommy and his crazy friends and i hope we get more of the ones like this. I love history and I love Jeeps this show is a match made in heaven.
Those Rubicon wheels look much better.
Love the new direction of the show! As a fellow 4wheeler and Boulderite I look forward to you showing everybody the beauty of our backyard.
Great series, TFL! Keep it up!
This guy is informed, he puts in great info about the surrounding areas he drives in, it's really wonderful.
I really like the way DiffLock is productions wise, well edited, drone footage, google map links to the trail... this is great!
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy the Ghost Town series. I love Colorado and don't get out there nearly as often as I would like. Think the photography is fantastic and the production quality it top notch! Thank you so much. Keep up the great work!
Thank You for the kind words!
Good video guys. Ghost towns and old mines are some of my favorite things about exploring Colorado. I like that you added the google maps link too
I will definitely be checking this out the next time I go off roading out that way
Phantom 4 can't be too happy bouncing around back there without a case!
i saw that aswell
I love Nederland, can't wait to check out caribou
hey that's where I picked up the colorado MMUSA buckle!
Thanks . Our family used to go there in the sixties where my older brothers used to tell me horror stories about Alfred Packer (miner cannibal ).
Nice job and please keep it stock for those of us who still want the "real" Jeep look.
Micky Thompson ATZP3 tires are the best. They perform well on any terrain.
That looks fun! I really like the scenery and found the history interesting.
Great video! I live in that area, and there's a trail called the 505, if you want to go on a fun adventure it's an awesome trail with great views (closed in winter) check it out. The trail ends in some guy's driveway in the the town of Eldora (not the ski resort, just below it) so if you haven't been before, start in Caribou, because it can be confusing finding the entrance in Eldora. Oh, and remember, UPHILL has the right of way.
MAN DO I WISH i had somewhere like you have to work on my trucks!
Nice to see the tires changed. Really liked this video. Would be really fun to see a comparison video between the stock tires and the new to you BFG's.
Decent Tire, I just bought new Cooper ATV's and love them.
Nice video, I enjoy exploring new places too. A note on the new tires, be careful with them in CO on snowy, icy conditions. They don't have a lot of siping and could be a bit more exciting than you expect. ;)
Really like this series
really enjoyed this and the fact that your modding it and riding trails and showing some beautiful scenery.
whats next for the jeep?
Disconnect that sway bar! Haha sorry I want to be that guy.
2:33 aw IM SO HAPPY ;) sounded like my 8 yr old niece
When is the next Diff Lock? I love what the show has become. I wouldn't mind seeing the 4Runner and the red YJ again
Rookie! Should always have a pump with you and should have aired down all tires just before off-roading. This provides a lot more traction and will soften the ride (notice how the video shows a lot of bouncing even over small rocks). When you are done off-roading, air the tires back up to factory recommended tire pressures listed on the driver door. I've even done a Jeep trail on stock tires; you'll be surprised what you can do once you air down you tires; lot's of UA-cam videos about this. Same concept appies for sand and sand dunes. Good luck and have fun wheelin' out there =)
We did air down for cliffhanger
What PSI? Sorry to say Tommy, it really looks like not aired down at all. My sweet spot for our JKU for most situations is 15PSI. So happy for you and your JK and the upgraded tires.
I have been wheeling for the better part of 20 years. Some times I air down, sometimes I don't. You don't HAVE to air down.
For Cliffhanger, I'd say you better should unless you love riding up the hill like on a wild mustang. But it is everyone's choice to do so or not.
+mauiman52 Thanks for the kind words. I went down just to 24 ish to smooth out the ride a little. Also because of time
I think BFG should give you some KO2's for long term Jeep testing. I'd love to see how that would pan out.
I will subscribe for the DiffLock videos, keep um coming.
Pretty cool video...like the drone footage.
This is awesome - I have the 4 door version of your JK, exact color and all. I am picking up an identical set of wheels/tires tomorrow to put on my Jeep. Not sure if I'll run the TPMS on the new wheels or not - the PO is keeping them, so I may just run w/o or I may swap mine from my stock wheels and SR-A's. Love the channel - but... what happened to the green YJ? Loved seeing the classic beast on the trail! Hopefully we'll see more JK and YJ action... even like the 4Runner in there!
These are really cool videos.
Great video, adds a bit more depth to the "can it get up this hill or not" videos on TFLcar/truck
Hey Tirerack you need to sponsor these guys for Diff Lock at least.
What about making more o pf this video series. Different trails around the US
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling more than 500,000 Jeep Wrangler SUVs from the 2007 to 2016 model year. According to FCA, some of those vehicles may have developed problems with their airbag systems that could prevent the devices from deploying during collisions.
cool abandoned town
Can you guys do a Mashup between a 2016 Dodge Charger R/T and A Ford Mustang EcoBoost or Chevorlet Camaro RS (V6)?
Is there anything in the Jeep's electronics that would prevent the airbags from deploying on very harsh off-road driving?
Lol " yep straight away it notice the difference in rid"
I like the drone footage, it really adds to the video. What drone are you using? Keep up the good work.
Awsome
I liked the fact that a old model t was good enough to get up there 70 years ago,yet you get a new jeep with better roads, tires on stock suspension. Kinda makes us all laugh at the idiots with the big lifted mall crawlers a stock jeep works for 99% of people yet 70% of them are over kill for what people use them for. With a tire up grade your well covered in most cases.
The last episodes have made me smile a lot the reason is i also have a Wrangler Sport S 3-door and i think Tommy and i are like the same age or very similar, and also a big fan of TFL!
Tommy how old are you ?
that's a really easy trail I took my Saturn vue on that trail
Cool video, would a Raptor fit going up that trail?
Hey...you guys gonna take the 2017 Sportage up Gold Mine Hill soon? I want a real off-road review.
How about some more ghost town adventures.
Were the tires the same ultimate size or did you have to have the speedo adjusted?
nice...
cool story
good video, are you recording in 4k, the clarity is amazing, what make of camera are you using, I'm an avid fan of all things TFL
We use Sony's. 1920X1080 @ 60 fps
yes i have an alpha series a77 mark 2 that will do the same video it works well other than low light conditions, normal with dslr cameras,
Not to be that guy but
why are you using 4L on stuff that could be driven in 2 wheel?
jack stands man, jack stands
BINGO!!! Show shop safety.
If you are just doing tires and you are NOT (any part of your body) going under the vehicle, using jacks only is fine. That is how Discount Tire does it.
Agreed. Jack stands are a waste of time just doing tires.
Yes I agree too but you'll regret not doing it when your vehicle falls on you.
There's no reason to be under a vehicle when doing tires. Anything else? Absolutely jack stands. But a tire swap isn't anything to worry about.
y did u guys get a sport and not a sabra or even a rubicon
What size tires are those?
I thought if you got bigger tires you needed to adjust the gear ratio? or is that for a lift?
They are not that much bigger.
Only if you bigger than 31's I believe
Thanks just wanted to be sure
What color is the Wrangler? Is it Granite Crystal Metallic Clear Coat or Rhino Clear Coat?
Granite
some better drone footage of it following it the open at low and high views makes all the difference
need more difflock
Where is the google map thingy
It's in the description but here you go:
www.google.com/maps/place/39°58'50.0%22N+105°34'40.0%22W/@39.9788515,-105.5788311,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d39.9805556!4d-105.5777778
Haha..Everytime friends piss me off on a road-trip, right when we get back I change all the settings in car to French or German, nothing like your car yelling in a Passive-Aggressive German voice..Bahahahaha
YOU NEED TO DO A NEW CHEROKEE TRAILHAWK PLEASE!!!
tire pressure is to high
When did the DiffLock series change focus away from “affordable off-roading” ?? Appears to be “look what my dad got me” and it has less appeal now .... disappointed
were not learning history tommy we only learn about real things like american cars
Change the language to Korean like in the 2015 Vacation Movie...
wtf is this guy?
roman's son
Buys Jeep for "on-road handling capabilities." I see yuppies all day driving jeeps with stock tires, never even taking it offroad. Just save your gas money and buy a car, who are you trying to fool?
Well, some folks have only money for one car or others need to drive several 100 miles to reach proper trails. I also watch out that my on-road capabilities are still ok when it comes to our next Moab trip which is a 1000mi/1500km trip and the Jeep performs great on the trails either. Have 35" BFG KM2's on they do both jobs pretty well (exhaust is louder than the tire drone)
